got an update alert from firefox to update which i did and saw a window that came up saying that update was succesful but that yahoo toolbar was not compatible with firefox and my yahoo toolbar has vanisehd and not been able to get it back i have mozilla firefox 9.1
Get the latest Yahoo Toolbar as mentioned in the following Yahoo Toolbar User Guide:

I have checked and the Yahoo Toolbar works fine in Firefox 9.0.1. Check and tell if its working.

As Above. Before I download the recent update to Fire Fox I want to be certain that it is compatible with ALL AVAST ANTI Virus programs, or I will simply not down load it.
The only thing about Avast that might not be compatible is their Web Rep extension for Firefox. If that is the case, it is up to Avast to keep their Firefox add-on up-to-date as Mozilla releases new versions of Firefox. Did you check with Avast to see if an update is available? If there is, you probably need to have Firefox 5.0 installed to be able to install that update.

Google Toolbar is not compatible with Firefox 5. Throughout all the previous Firefox updates, there has never been this problem. Did you screw up?
I wish it were that but a long time ago when I had a problem with the gadgets with iGoogle back 6 months ago thereabouts I was asked to disable it then and I did and I just went to re-check and it is still not enabled, however, it will not let me un-install it though.. It only gives me an option to enable or disable.. Any advice ? So I'm wondering if it is something else still or is there a problem with the avast still ?

i've got a vodsaphone payg sim: i've been given an iphone 3g, and when i connected it to my mac and itunes, a message told me that the sim was :not compatible" with the iphone. is this because, as i've been told, my card is an old style sim and i need the newer style that works In smart phones? if so, how do i go about getting the right card.
Contact your carrier & get a new sim...they should give you one for free.

when the update was loading I got an error R5034 that the runtime library was not addressed correctly
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

iPod version shown in iTunes as "4.3.4" (not listed in the OS drop-down associated with setting up this post. Appeared to download the update OK but as soon as it went to install it came up with "The iPod "xxxxx" could not be updated because the firmware file is not compatible" Why and what do I do now? I was using OS Snow Leopard and on 8/1/13 I downloaded Mountain Lion. Then I found out it was not compatible with my HP Printer (HP Photosmart C5580 all-in-one) so I called Apple support and the tech told me to erase the hard drive instead of going in the time machine. Well I did that and then it took about three hours three days a week for about three weeks on the phone with an apple tech to get all my stuff back on my computer. I have had trouble with my printer (won't do the scan anymore and wasn't printing on my DVDs. Also the computer keeps freezing up when it is in the sleep mode, etc.
When I tried to list my problem on this forum it lists your OS at the bottom and mine had Mountain Lion listed as what I was using so apparently it didn't erase it. Want to know how to get Mountain Lion off and put my Snow Leopard on so things start working right.Go to the menu/About This Mac - what OS version shows there?
Do a backup, preferably 2 separate ones on 2 separate drives.
Revert to a Previous OS X
Revert to Snow Leopard
If you do revert, I'd use Setup Assistant to restore your data. This process takes a while, so do it when you won't need the computer for several hours, based on my experience. -
When I try to launch itunes I get an error mesage saying that Apple application support was not found and suggests that I uninstall and re-install it, but that doesn't work
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
Start with the section Install missing components which should address your particular error. Otherwise the steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you've already tried a complete uninstall and reinstall try opening iTunes in safe mode (hold down CTRL+SHIFT) as you start iTunes, then going to Edit > Preferences > Store and turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. You may find iTunes will now start normally.

An error occured while checking for a software update. and when i tried updating it via itunes, i got this msg - The iPhone "xxx iphone" could not be updated because the firmware file is not compatible.

My mac has OSX version 10.8.2 and I'm try to install an aiport express base station which requires 10.5.7 or later. Yet when I try to install the software it says the base station is not compatible with my mac version - how do I resolve?
You already have the software installed that you need if you have 10.8.2.
If AirPort Utility cannot find the Express, that is another matter. More software is not needed. More troublehooting is needed.
Power up the Express for a full minute
Hold in the reset button on the Express for 7-8 seconds and release
Allow a full minute for the Express to restart
Click the AirPort icon at the top of the Mac's screen
Look for a heading of New AirPort Base Station
Just below that, click on AirPort Express
