  • Tomcat does not work when using only netcfg to start network

    hello!
    for myself i wrote a script to connect automatically to a wireless network using netcfg. i do not start my network via the daemon (/etc/rc.d/network).
    i have a project and so i want to use tomcat. but it does not work correct, i can start it, but i can't connect via "localhost:8080". when i start my network using the network daemon it works! apache runs fine, but i need tomcat!
    can someone help me please?
    thx, marv

    where is "lo" enabled in the network script? i did not found it and/or i have no idea which function enables it.
    can you help me please? can i just copy the lines of code to my own script and it will enable lo?

  • Creating a link to text file in a tomcat server not working in JSP webapp

    I am using netbeans to create an web application within my desktop, and then I load the build/web folder to a tomcat server to test the application. Everything works fine. However, when I try to link up my JSP pages to text files (.txt) create by the application on the server, I seem to be getting files that might be kept in a terminal.
    When I get the Real path of the servlet context, I find that it is to a C:\ type file rather than a //hostname type of directory. So obviously those files are not being reached.
    Does anybody know how to deal this problem?

    There are a number of ways to get to the Flash Global Security settings dialog.
    My favourite way is just to double click on a Captivate SWF (not the HTM file) to open it in a web browser, then right click on the playing screen to get the Flash context menu.  On the context menu, click the Global Settings option.
    In the web page that opens, click the link on the left to Global Security Settings.
    Add the folder or drive location of your published Captivate content to the Trusted Locations.

  • Debugging LCDS Data Management from Flexbuilder3 on Tomcat does not work

    I have a sample with Data Management and when i use it on my tomcat it works fine. But i can´t debug it from flexbuilder 3. When i start it from the flexbuilder i get the connection and then i crashed with "No registered fault handler or token responder - throwing an error for destination:"
    It is the same tomcat i use to run standalone.
    is it a problem with the context.xml?

    Here's an update for future victims doing google searches :-)
    The issue appears to be related to compiz. When I'm doing basic 2D desktop with metacity everything simply rocks: the machine suspends/resumes with no issues.
    When compiz is enabled, there is about 10 second delay after resume, during which the screen is black and you better not touch the keyboard! If I sit and wait for 8-12 seconds, the dark screen goes away GDM login dialog shows up. But if I touch the keyboard or the touchpad, it will either freeze or become exceptionally slow.

  • JDBC in tomcat 4 not working

    hi
    how i can set in tomcat 4 JDBC ?
    i have applet->servlet->database
    it works in tomcat 3 but not in tomcat 4
    what i need wrote in servel.xml and does i need put my jdbc driver in it ???
    thanks

    Just a guess -- Make sure the classpath to jdbc driver is correct. In Tomcat 4, you may need to set the jdbc classpath in catalina.sh.

  • Tomcat + JDK = Not Working

    Thanks to all for at least viewing my topic...
    First off, I am running Linux Mandrake 8.0, here are the specs:
    Apache: Apache 1.3.19
    JDK: jdk-1.3.1-fcs
    Tomcat: tomcat-3.1-3k
    I've been running apache as a stable server for, oh, about 3 months now. I am hosting multiple websites and one of my clients asked me, "Is JSP supported?" so I tried an example JSP page and it didn't work.
    I installed jdk and then Tomcat but for some reason, the TOMCAT daemon won't startup as supposed to... It just says this:
    [root@skynet conf]# service tomcat start
    Starting tomcat:
    [root@skynet conf]#
    Doesn't start. So I don't know where the error is... these were installed in RPM's, not tar's.

    Well this forum is neither for Tomcat and nor for OTM. This is Oracle Application Server forum. To get fast and meaningful response post in the appropriate forum. I am not sure which one (as I am not at all familiar with OTM) but you can try looking in one of either EBS or Industries forums:

  • Tomcat does not work all of the sudden

    I intstalled Tomcat about 4 months ago, and since that time it has been working correctly. Today, it decided that it wasn't going to work and when I try to load http://localhost:8080 after starting Tomcat I get the following error message only:
    HTTP Status 500 - No Context configured to process this request
    type Status report
    message No Context configured to process this request
    description The server encountered an internal error (No Context configured to process this request) that prevented it from fulfilling this request.

    well, now my application works when I type the full path name, but I still get the same error when I try to run tomcats home page. I don't understand the problem, and furthermore don't really care so long as I can run my own applications.

  • Runtime.getRuntime.exec() not working when Tomcat is made a windows Sevice

    Hi,
    I am working on a web application which launches a exe file on subitting the form. I am using Apache Tomcat 4.0.6 to run the web application. Initially Tomcat was not made a windows service on my machine and when I launch an exe it is launching without any problems. I used the following command to launch the exe file:
    <code>
    Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("C:\\Program Files\\Mercury Interactive\\WinRunner\\arch\\wrun.exe" + strWROptions);
    </code>
    The above command launches WinRunner on the local machine.
    without using tomcat if I just compile and run a test program with this command, the exe is launching perfectly. But, Once I made tomcat a windows service on my machine the exe is not launching.
    Also, a process is being created in the windows task bar named wrun.exe once I submit the form but WinRunner is not lauching on the desktop.
    Can any one please help and suggest me.
    Thanks,
    Ramesh

    The version of Java I am using is 1.4.2. Even without
    using the string array as you mentioned, the exe
    (wrun.exe) is launched on my desktop if I don't run
    Tomcat as a windows service. But the problem arises on
    making it a service :-(
    That is strange because going by the documentation what you have been using should never work. I can't test it though, I'm not on MSWindows at the moment..
    Now, when I use this string array convention, I am
    getting an error saying "The tool could not launch..
    some error occured".
    That's not a Java error message, it must come from WinRunner. This means that you have succesfully started WinRunner (great!) but something else is wrong; maybe the parameters you pass to it are incorrect.
    How would you run it on the command line? Like this?wrun -t "D:\L5_QE\L5A\Initial" -create_text_report on -runThat line executes the wrun program and passes it five parameters, not three. The first parameter is "-t", the second "D:\L5_QE\L5A\Initial", the third "-create_text_report", the fourth "on", and the fifth "-run". The array of strings that corresponds to that line isString[] command = {"C:\\Program Files\\Mercury Interactive\\WinRunner\\arch\\wrun.exe",
                    "-t", "D:\\L5_QE\\L5A\\Initial",
                    "-create_text_report", "on",
                    "-run"};

  • CrossContext and WAR unpacking not working in the same context Tomcat 4.0.6

    I need an application to be able to crossContext so I entered a context tag in my server.xml file.
    However when I added the entry tomcat no longer unpacked the .war file. If I changed the path value in the context tomcat unpacked the war but then the crossContext would not work.
    Is there a way make the two work together?
    Here is a copy of the entries and what they achieve:
    <Context path="myApp" docBase="myApp" debug="0" crossContext="true"/> this will unpack the war but the app will not crossContext.
    <Context path="/myApp" docBase="myApp" debug="0" crossContext="true"/> will allow the app to crossContext but if I update the war and remove the myApp dir under webapps it will not extract the war file.
    Incidently the host tag has unpackWARs="true"
    Ideas anyone? It's a hassle to start the server twice each time, one to unpack and 2 to allow the crossContext.

    PS: Does anyone know how to edit your email address in your profile? I can't seem to do it through the settings link.

  • Works in Tomcat but not in iPlanet Web server

    I have a servlet which first generates a form which has one input field, when user fills in the text field and submits the form it is posted to same servlet. The posted data is processed and redirected to another servlet. Everything works fine on Tomcat3.2 but fails to work on iPlanet web server and throws HTTP Error 500.
    Can someone help me with this? What might be the problem?

    Don't know whey it worked in Tomcat and not in iPlanet, but the reason is because I missed '/' in getRequestDispatcher() methoc
    public RequestDispatcher getRequestDispatcher(java.lang.String path)
    The pathname must begin with a "/" and is interpreted as relative to the current context root.

  • Tomcat 4.1.x not working under JDK 1.2.2

    We are trying to test our web application on all versions of JDK starting from 1.2.2. We use Tomcat as the servlet engine and after upgrading from Tomcat 3.2.x to 4.1.24 (we've tried 4.1.18 as well) we have noticed that the new Tomcat does not start under JDK 1.2.2, see command line output below. We've tried on several machines and it fails with the same Exception. Has anyone tried running Tomcat 4.x on JDK 1.2.x? We find it hard to believe that a product like Tomcat would fail to support JDK 1.2, so any information would be appreciated.

    No Tomcat 4.1.x is not working under JDK1.2.2.
    It has something to do with a difference in byte code of the classes between jdk1.2.2 and jdk 1.4.

  • JSP: work with TomCat 5.5.9 and NOT work with TomCat 6.0.16

    Hi all,
    I'm Antony and I have a problem with a .JSP page of my server.
    In my server there are 2 users: "u1" and "u2"; there are 2 TomCat, version 5.5.9 and version 6.0.16. There is Apache WebServer version 2. The 2 TomCat servers have the same configuration files: server.xml and web.xml (in the dir /conf of the main server's root). They not work simultaneously.
    When the user "root" launch the TomCat 5.5.9 all work fine: the server will show correctly the JSP pages of "u1" and the pages of "u2".
    When the user "root" launch the TomCat 6.0.16 the JSP pages of "u1" work fine but the JSP pages of "u2" not work: it seems that there are problems with the path where the server want to search the pages of u2.
    In the server.xml there is this code (for the handle of u2's site):
    <Host name="u2site.com" appBase="/home/u2/public_html/">
      <Alias>www.u2site.com</Alias>
      <Context path="" reloadable="false" docBase="/home/u2/public_html/" debug="0"/>
              <Context path="/manager" debug="0" privileged="true"
                  docBase="/usr/local/jakarta/tomcat/server/webapps/manager">
              </Context>
    </Host>and this code (for the u1's site)
    <Host name="u1site.com" appBase="/home/u1/public_html/">
      <Context path="" reloadable="false" docBase="/home/u1/public_html" debug="1"/>
              <Context path="/manager" debug="0" privileged="true"
                  docBase="/usr/local/jakarta/tomcat/server/webapps/manager">
              </Context>
    </Host>The problems with the JSP pages of u2 are one of the following:
    org.apache.jasper.JasperException: /login2.jsp(4,0) The value for the useBean class attribute com.u2.beans.access.Autenticator is invalid.and this one that appear with the pages that have the inclusion of another JSP page
    /u2page.jsp(3,0) File "/../support/_formatting.jsp" not foundI think that the TomCat know how to find the page that the browser request to Apache WebServer (and that the webserver request to Tomcat by the connector) 'cause for pages that haven't inclusion or call to method in packages all work fine...but the TomCat have problems to locate the pages included or the method located in a JAR (the jars are located in WEB-INF/lib/ of the u2's site).
    How I can resolve this problem with TomCat 6.0.16? I repeat that with TomCat 5.5.9 all work fine...same configuration!
    Any ideas?
    Thank you very much,
    Antony.

    Hi stevejluke, 'cause in the page "/supporto/_formatting.jsp" there are only the definition of some variables it's normal that the output at the browser it's a blank page.
    The problem it's that Tomcat 6.0.16 cannot know how "navigate" the pages beginning from one...it know where is the "x.jsp" page requested directly by Apache WebServer, where is "y.jsp" request directly by Apache, where is "z.jsp" requested directly by Apache but if "x.jsp" request, includes, "y.jsp" Tomcat cannot know where "y.jsp" is located. There is some file where I can "say" this to Tomcat?
    The page "/mostre/elenco_mostre.jsp" includes directly the "/supporto/_formatting.jsp".
    Another thing: in /mostre/elenco_mostre.jsp there is an inclusion directive for /supporto/_formatting.jsp that is so:
    <%@ include file="../supporto/_formatting.jsp"%>you can see that the included file is "../supporto/_formatting.jsp" and NOT "/../supporto/_formatting.jsp"...the "/" at the begin of the path is included by Tomcat!
    In the catalina.out there are this lines, when the page is called:
    Jul 6, 2008 3:15:00 AM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapperValve invoke
    SEVERE: Servlet.service() for servlet jsp threw exception
    org.apache.jasper.JasperException: /elenco_mostre.jsp(3,0) File "/../supporto/_formatting.jsp" not found
      In catalina.out before server start there are this lines:

    Maybe the problem it's that Tomcat want the conf file in "Server/Service/Engine/Host/Context" ? I must move the block HOST of the server.xml file in this path?
    Good Sunday and thank you!
