Tomcat Error prevents webaccess

Been reading for 3 days now trying various solutions and still no luck. Server is Netware 6.5 SP8 running all mail functions. Everything is fine with the exception of users not being able to access email via WebAccess.
From reading elsewhere this error is considered 'normal' ?:
CATALINA_OPTS = -VM160M -xMx256m -Djavax.net.ssl.trustStore=sys:/adminsrv/conf/.keystore -Dsun.io.useCanpnCaches=false
which appears after tomcat4 and tcadmup.
After tcadmup this error shows:
Caught exception "java.io.FileNotFoundException: SYS:\adminsrv\XMLData\ServiceDescriptor_2_0.dtd processing SYS:\adminsrv\XMLData\Apache.xml
I have done TID 10091686 as well as pkidiag (no errors). Just about anything else is available (Remote Manager, https://SERVERIP:2200, Apache administration, etc) but webaccess and the Tomcat links off the management services page.
Certificates in ConsoleOne check as being valid. The webaccess module loads fine and is available for work and I can see all the parts of it load in the logger 9Webaccess, Webpublisher, Spellcheck, etc)
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as half our organization is outside and remoting for their email.

Glad you got it!
This would have been easy to find with SLES. Just sayn...:-)

  • An error prevented the view from loading

    I'm using SQL Server 2012 Express and I'm building a report with one table.  I dragged and dropped two data set elements into the table that has two columns (Product Name and Product Description).  Both the dataset elements have
    a data type of varchar (50) in SQL Server 2012 Express.  The table with those two elements is the only data I have in Design view.  When I click on Preview, the Preview screen states 'An error prevented the view from loading.'.  This is difficult
    to diagnose, because in the Error List there are '0 Errors', '0 Warnings', and '0 Messages'.  I would like help understanding if there is another error log I can observe to understand the issue, or if there are basic SQL Server 2012 Express Reporting
    Services debugging techniques.  Please help.  Thank you,
    Additionally, when I run the query in SQL Server 2012 Express and Reporting Services Query Designer the query results are correct.
    Also, when I click the start debugging button, the report displays and I can export it to pdf, however the Previous still displays the error.

    Well, funny stuff.  I shut the solution down yesterday, then I booted my computer today and started the solution AND JUST LIKE MAGIC....it works.  I can't explain it.  Persistence pays, that's the answer sometimes.

  • An error prevents the Change Management Upgrade script from executing

    I have Warehouse Builder 10g on a database 10g R1.
    On a server linux I have the repository, and on other server (Sun 5.9) I have runtimes for production.
    I want execute an upgrade deploy action on one object but I get this error:
    An error prevents the Change Management Upgrade script from executing successfully. We strongly advise that this Upgrade is UNDONE and the problem is investigated. Data loss may occur if you accept this Upgrade
    Any idea?
    Thanks,
    Fernando.

    I review the installation, it was made with a diferent user that database, I get same permission, restart runtimes service and problem was resolved.

  • Tomcat error in DFM 3.0.5

    Hi,
    On a LMS 3.0.1, DFM 3.0.5, I've got a Tomcat error, when I want to see the "Alerts and Activity" (see attachement)
    Trying to solve the problem, i've made several try:
    1. I purged the dfm database (CSCOpx/bin/dbRestoreOrig.pl dsn=dfmInv dmprefix=INV, CSCOpx/bin/dbRestoreOrig.pl dsn=dfmFh dmprefix=FH,
    CSCOpx/bin/dbRestoreOrig.pl dsn=dfmEpm dmprefix=EPM)
    2. Import devices from DCR (almost 400 devices). I can see all the devices in "Device Management/Device summary"
    3. re-install DFM 3.0.5
    and this doesn't solve the problem
    I attach the "pdshow", if it can help.
    Which log file can help you ?
    thanks

    I add:
    As the post (https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/1328737#1328737), I do this:
    "NMSROOT/objects/db/win32/dbsrv9 -f NMSROOT/databases/dfmEpm/dfmEpm.db"
    and restore the database by
    "NMSROOT/bin/perl NMSROOT/bin/dbRestoreOrig.pl dsn=epm dmprefix=EPM"
    in attachement, the new pdshow (the EPMDbEngine is started, but the EPMServer is down)
    And still "tomcat error"...

    FM 12: How do I create a .ps file of a book? (errors prevent PDF generation)

    There's probably a graphic on one of your pages that is causing a postscript division error (i.e. divide by zero?) See also: PostScript error offending command div
    As Jeff suggests, track down the errant graphic to see what's wrong. If you print to file, you should get an idea of roughly where in the docs the error occurs by watching the print thermometer display.

  • Tomcat error:" It is not available the ServletAction"  and jars not found

    Hi,
    I am deploying an application using Ant from MyEclipse IDE.
    When I deploy the application with the Ant, it says to me that the application has successfully deployed. I go to webaapps directory and I can see into that it how the application has been deployed with its WAR.
    But when I try to excute the application, Tomcat gives me the following error:
    Message: It is not available the Servlet Action
    Description: The request resource (It doesn`t available the ServletAction) is not available.
    If I go to Apache Tomcat`s stdout log I can see two warnings:
    WARN: No appends could be found for logger (org.apache.commons.beanutils.Convertutils)
    WARN: Please initialize the log4j system properly
    But, If I go to the Java Build path of the application I can verify how I have added the commons.beanutils.jar and log4j.jar .
    I don`t know why it doesn´t run and I am stuck.
    I would be very grateful somebody could help me to solve this problem.
    Regards

    The logging doesn't need to be set up properly for the web app to function, usually. The more critical point is the error message from Tomcat about the Servlet Action. Is that the exact error message? I'm just asking because I've never seen a Tomcat error written like that. Could you post the exact message.. Are you using Struts? And where are you seeing the Tomcat error message? Is it appearing in the console or in one of the logs or in the browser?
    My guess is you have a jar missing from your classpath but I can't tell from what you've posted.

  • Tomcat error when posting on netpro

    Is there a way to make that tomcat error go away?
    (when I post I get an error, then I have to go back to the post and edit it to put in the actual text of the post and it sticks.)
    Just like I had to do on this one.

    I've seen this happening since years.
    Since it never happened to me, I've always thought it is actually related to the client or network connection
    Altough, I must agree that nothing in theory should cause a post to appear without an author. Unfortunately it seem the forum software here isn't what you call top notch.

    Hi all,
    Once I encountered the following problem with BC4J using Tomcat:

  • RFID healthcare system, used for error prevention with RFID wrist band

    RFID systems can be used in a wide range of application since it provides an efficient and reliable means for identification. RFID technology, which is remarkably versatile enabling in many uses level, will be rapidly and widely used in healthcare.
    Do you find it a headache to manage the patients in hospital ? Do you need to use great effort to identify and keep track of the newborn babies ? RFID technology for healthcare,which will benefit the healthcare in a huge number of ways including error prevention of identifying wrong person by staff and make the record of patientsu2019 information a piece of cake, may help to figure out the above problems.
    Surveys by the National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) have shown that errors in identifying patients lead to at least 500 a week getting the wrong treatment. In the wake of the healthcare incidents result from identification errors, voluntary cooperation within hospitals and between nations has a vital part to play. As a result, RFID technology for healthcare utilization to people tagging in hospital is in the ascendant.
    RFID is an enabling technology that saves lives, prevents errors, saves costs and increases security. It removes tedious procedures and provides patients with more freedom and dignity.
    The use of RFID offers automatic capture of identification data with great range, data capacity and read/write capabilities.
    Once a person is attached with a RFID wrist band of DAILY RFID(company name), with a RFID reader got close to the wrist band, without burrowing under the bedclothes, the identification data of each person u2019s information will be automatic captured by the chip of the wrist band. And personal data stored in an RFID-fed server behind a firewall is far more secure than the clipboard at the end of a bed, so as to decrease the risk of mislaying the patientsu2019 data. Whatu2019s more, there are no worries about electrically interfering with other electronics such as life support systems,because the RFID wrist band of DAILY RFID is a passive one, which use the RFID reader as a source of power,instead of a battery.
    The DAILY RFID(company name) series includes RFID tags for almost any application. For a full catalog of DAILY RFID durable RFID tag, kindly visit http://www.rfid-in-china.com/products_669_1.html.

    just a guess, there is an error in the way you are setting the property (hence the handleSetProperty method that threw the error.
    as you amy be newer, a good way to debug a jsp from tomcat that is giving odd errors on the page is to view the java source code that tomcat generated from your jsp. look in the work directory, and paw around a bit, and you will find a file called upload_005f1_jsp.java. That is the java servlet tomcat made you rjsp into. look in that file, and you'll see on line 56 the exception was either caught or thrown. then look for the property that it tried to set just above it. that is the property that tomcat got mad about. (either a mispelling on your part, or their docs are wrong - altered api perhaps? ) Anyway, if you continue to get frustrated with the orielly classes, look at commons-uploader from jakarta. It is a wonderful file upload library, and I have used it a lot in several struts apps.

    OP doesn't have to do anything other than follow the instructions in the installation guide.
    Ensure Tomact is correctly installed - you see that on the welcome page (and have an appropriate version of Java)
    Add in the manager/admin password/role as needed
    Deploy the XMLPwhatever WAR file, either with Tomcat running or not, works either way
    Copy the font files, also specified in the installation guide
    Etc.
    It works just like it says, no need to move other jar files around or go find missing jar files. If you have do that, you messed up the installation in one place/step or another. Start over.

    // here is my Item object
    public Item (String aProductCode, String aDescription, double aPrice, int aQuantity, String aImage)
    productCode = aProductCode;
    description = aDescription;
    price = aPrice;
    quantity = aQuantity;
    image_sm = aImage;
    // line 17 in add..
    Item item = new Item(productCode, description, price, quantity, image_sm);
    still the same method error.

    org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Unable to compile class for JSP
    No Java compiler was found to compile the generated source for the JSP.
    This can usually be solved by copying manually $JAVA_HOME/lib/tools.jar from the JDK
    to the common/lib directory of the Tomcat server, followed by a Tomcat restart.
    If using an alternate Java compiler, please check its installation and access path.

    have you set up the JAVA_HOME environment variable as per tomcat install instructions?
    Set an environment variable JAVA_HOME to the pathname of the directory into which you installed the JDK release. [http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/tomcat-4.1-doc/RUNNING.txt]
