TomTom and the iPhone - I CAN'T FIND AN ANSWER ANYWHERE

1) Will the new TomTom app work with the iPhone 3G as well as the 3GS?
2) If it will work with the iPhone 3G as well, will it require internet connectivity? Or will it have the maps onboard and use the built-in GPS chip? In other words, can I use it in the middle of nowhere?

2) If I was a developer, I'd want it to use the built-in normal GPS and not rely at all on cell phone tower connectivity. You're right, it says the maps are inside, but I guess I'm worried that it will for some reason still require there to be a cell phone tower signal. I only say that because at no point during the WWDC and nowhere on the site does it stress that the software can be used without cell tower connectivity. I would think they would've at least mentioned that fact if it were true. I mean, it's been a year with the iPhone 3G with a built-in standalone GPS chip, and no map software that uses it.
Also, the dashboard device has its OWN GPS chip in it. I'm worried that maybe you have to have that device in order to use the software outside of tower connectivity.

Launch JuicePhone. You should see a list of backups. Select the one that's most likely to contain the note you want to recover (again, you should make a copy of the backup in case something goes wrong). Select where you want the extracted files to go and click "Complete". Then go to the folder containing the extracted data and you can find the data file and see if you can extract the data you need.
If you were using the included Notes application, the file will be notes.db in Home/Library/Notes. You can open the file in Text Edit and try and extract the note text from amongst the code, or you since it's an Sqlite3 database, you can try a database browser that can view Sqlite3 databases.

Just bought my brand New iPhone 5; my first iPhone ever. I have successfully used wifi at home and at work and now I am at a hotel where the wifi is open, my macbook sees the wifi and can connect and iPhone can't find it. Why is this and what may I do? This is a drag.

Simple question but can't find an answer anywhere

This must surely be a very easy question for someone to
answer (although I can't find an answer from any tutorial or
forums, despite lots and lots of Google searching).
I want to create a link from one SWF file to another (when
these two files are 'stand alonE', not online). How do I it?
I've managed to use Actionscript to create links to a website
and another scene within the same SWF, so I'm surprised that this
is proving so much more difficult.
The script I have that's not working is:

(BY THE WAY Before you recommend I put everything online,
this is for coursework and it specifies that the whole thing must

I'm not sure what you're doing with the
gotoAndStop("lessons.swf"); command - whether lessons.swf is
a scene or a frame label. If its a scene, then I think you need a
frame number as well. (actually I don't know - I don't use this
function)

Trouble adding printer to HP ePrint Home and Biz iPhone app - can't find printer's email address

I'm trying to connect my HP Photosmart c6380 to my iPhone. I already downloaded the app and my printer is connected to my wireless network, as is my iPhone, but I can't add my printer to the app.
When I go to "Manage ePrinters" and try to add a printer with the + button I see 3 choices:
Add ePrinter from list: "No ePrinters available"
Add Manually: I can't find the printer's email address even using the instructions found at the ePrint center.
Add from WiFi Network: My printer isn't shown in this list so it does not support auto discovery.
So I'm guessing that if I could just find my printer's email address that would connect it to my iPhone for wireless printing, but I can't for the life of me find it.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello amybett,
I have bad news and good news. The bad news is that your printer is not Airprint/ePrint capable. However, the good news is that with the HP ePrint Home and Biz iPhone app it does not need to be Airprint/Eprint capable, as long as it is connected to the same network as your phone.
Here are the steps you will want to take to print something:
1. Setup the app by completing the email registration and entering the code (which I believe you have).
2. Select the item you wish to print using the menu in the app (Photo Albums, Saved Files, Web Browser, etc.).
3. Once you select the item you should see the item and a large "Print" button under it.
4. If the printer you want to print to is not listed above the "Print" button, select the icon on the right (wrench/computer) and select the printer you wish to use (along with other settings).
5. Tap on the "Back" button in the top left corner, then tap "Done" (blue button in the top right corner), and then tap the "Print" button to print your item.
Let me know if you are still having trouble after following the guide above.

Box and arrow bottom right corner, and the j, I can't find what they mean

I'm new with Aperture and finally sorting my photos. I had a lot of duplicates for some reason. Image 100 and a 100-1 and sometimes a 100-2. I deleted the -1 and -2 copies. Some photos are displayed with a small box and arrow and some also with a J in the bottom right corner. I can't find what that means.

Aperture uses Badges to indicate various things. They are part of the Metadata Overlays.
A good read of the first eight chapters of the User Manual will familiarize you with the program and the elements of the UI. It is a well-done manual. Have a look, and feel free to ask more questions. I'm providing links here because the questions are better answered there than here.

Custom report layout question...can't find any answers anywhere

I am trying to build a report in Portal, using the custom report layout. The report displays like so, before I do any customization:
COLUMN1 COLUMN2 COLUMN3
COLUMN1 COLUMN2 COLUMN3
COLUMN1 COLUMN2 COLUMN3
COLUMN1 COLUMN2 COLUMN3
where COLUMN1 is the same value, always per report; COLUMN2 and COLUMN3 vary.
What I want is:

COLUMN2 COLUMN3
COLUMN2 COLUMN3
In the report layout editor, Body section, this is what I see:

I have searched portal center, the app server documentation, html documentation. I have googled everything I could think of, but came up with nothing. I found a similar question on this forum, but no one responded with an answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The best way for your case is to use a content folder and customize it whichever way you like.
however, your question is about reports. the problem in reports is this that you have to use just one single query and the layout of the results of this query are displayed in a peculiar way.
anyway. something similar but not exactly the same as what you wanted do is the following.
use a query like the following: (with a union in between)

this should produce a report with a table structure (you may see the whole if you give BORDER="1" in the main table tag). Within this table, the first column of the first row should be showing top-leftmost column value once (COLUMN1 value) and then the next rows would show last four column values as a table block on the right-bottom part.

A Very, Very Simple Question..... Can't Find an Answer Anywhere.........

In the built-in Photos App, i'd like to show my photos in a particular sequence, in other words, i'd like to control the order of photos in any folder....... i can't seem to sort them, not in the ipad, nor in itunes on my home mac. i have tried numbering them, i can't seem to get any kind of control.
i'd like to show portfolios of work, in a particular sequence in each set.
any ideas???

An interesting question. Mine seem to be in the same order as my photo managing application -- Aperture. In my case, I have left them in their default order (alpha-numeric names assigned automatically by their time stamp). Since you say changing the name does not work, you might try altering their physic order in the managing program or, if that doesn't work, try changing the time/date info as either may be used as the basis for their order for iTunes syncing of the iPad. Unfortunately, the iPad does not always seem to update its data base when changes are made. (E.g., multiple iBooks cover changes made in iTunes don't seem to be updated after the initial change.) Therefore, even if changing the name, date, or physical order does re-write the info as far as iTunes is concerned, it may not be reflected on the iPad. (I.e., you may have to run your tests on albums being sync'd to the iPad for the first time.)

Very Strange error and can't find any answer anywhere in the net

I created a login form (see below).
If I use the regular HTML form and form fields for the username, password and submit button I don't get any problem viewing my form
But if I use cfform and cfinput form fields I get this error.

I have one or more Tabs open on my Fire Fox Browser, when suddenly, I am not able to do anything. I go to the "Force Quit" command, and find that the word "unresponsive" next to the Fire Fox Browser on the list of what's open on my desktop. Sometimes it happens with Word 2004. So, it could be a computer issue but I have no idea what to do. I don't think it has anything to do with downloading anything but it crashes several times a day.

I can't remove the Bing Bar. When I follow the instructions I can't find Bing Bar in the listed programs on my computer to remove it.

When I open FireFox Bing is the default search engine at the top right hand side of my bar. When I go into the control panel and the programs, I can't find Bing Bar to uninstall it.
I'm using Windows 7.
It seems to me that Windows is using techniques used by people spreading viruses. Can't Norton or McAfee do something to stop these people?

The Bluetooth low energy protocol is not backward compatible with classic Bluetooth protocol. My iPhone 4s can not find my sonny in-dash player. However my iPhone 3GS does it. Very disappointed with this. Any idea how it can be fixed???

You are correct, Blue tooth low engergy, BTLE.(only) devices are not backward compatible with Classic bluetooth and cannot connect.
However the Apple 4S and above have Bluetooth 4.0 support.. Hardware wise it has bothClassic Bluetooth, like the 3GS, as well as Bluetooth Low Energy. There is no good reason why your 4s cannot communicate to your Sony in-dash player using the Classic bluetooth that resides in the 4S.
I know that this does not answer the why it does not work, but it should work. Do you have to somehow re-pair the new phone up to the player? Not knowing the model of the Sony it is hard to investigate.
And I hate to ask but are you sure that the Bluetooth radio is on in the phone?

I had a problem a couple of months ago when iPhotos suddenly rearranged the order of my Events (Why won't iPhoto let me arrange my photos?) . I was told "Use albums not events - events are not a good way to organize - albums and folder are designed for organisation and are very flexible".
Haha! I should have paid attention and read between the lines! My iPhotos were highly organised groupings - not according to date but the way I wanted them - and it was so easy to do! I see now that if I had them all in albums, as per the Apple Apologist suggestion, I wouldn't have this unholy mess I have been left with just to make iPhone & iCloud users happy. I am now going through Photos and making Albums (of what used to be in my Events) ... maybe I'll get this finished before they do another non user friendly update!

OR use this method
1. Press-hold the Home button (big circle below the screen)and the Sleep/Wake button (on top of the iPhone) simultaneously.
2. Continue holding both buttons (Ignore the"Slide to power off") until the iPhone shuts off and begins to restart.
3.You may let go when you see the silver Applelogo.
