Tones not working after purchase on iPhone 6 and not syncing with iTunes

Hi.
I purchased three tones on iPhone 6 through the iTunes Store app.
The tones worked for a while until today I noticed that they were gone. I checked the Settings - -->Sounds but could not find the tones.
I connected the iPhone 6 to iTunes and could see the purchased tones under On My Device -- Tone but they are greyed out.
I have tried every thing but could not sync the tones into iTunes and I can't get them to work either. Please suggest a way out.

UPDATE:
Called Apple support and they confirmed this is a known issue.
They don't have an ETR on when this will be fixed. They offered a refund for the three tones but I will wait till this gets fixed. Must be a small software bug.

Recently i installed ios5.1 software update for my iphone 3gs. After that i am finding problem with sync with the itunes. Even i tried all the usb's for my pc as stated in the site. even installed latest itunes is up to date. Even mobile is charging and camera roll is displayed. But only not sync with itunes. can any one help me regarding this issue.

When I plug my iPhone 5 into my Mac Pro (version OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.3) the iPhone 5 syncs with iPhoto but not iTunes ?
The phone 5 is being charged via the USB cable into the Mac Pro, I can import photos via iPhoto from the iPhone 5, but I can not get iTunes to sync with the iPhone.
I have gone through all the steps in the "iPhone not appearing in iTunes" support assistant link with no luck:

I followed the step by step instructions in this archived support article:

If the issue remains, try these steps:
Disconnect the device and quit iTunes.
In the Finder, locate iTunes in the Applications folder and drag it to the Trash. (This will not remove any of your iTunes media or your iTunes library.)
Choose Go > Go to Folder. Enter the following location into the text field that appears:
/System/Library/Extensions
Click Go.
Locate the file "AppleMobileDevice.kext" and drag it to the Trash.
Restart the Mac.
In Finder, click the Go menu and then choose Go to Folder. Enter the following location into the text field that appears:
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks
Click Go.
Locate the folder "MobileDevice.framework" and drag it to the Trash.
In Finder, click the Go menu and then choose Go to Folder. Enter the following location into the text field that appears:
/System/Library/LaunchDaemons
Click Go.
Locate the file "com.apple.usbmuxd.plist~orig" and drag it to the trash. (Do not move the similarly named "com.apple.usbmuxd.plist" file to the Trash.)

update : so after reading numerous posts, I tried unchecking entire playlist and just tried one of my playlists. That sync seemed to work, so I rechecked entire playlist and did the sync. It worked. Then I went in to my "walk to work" playlist and added some songs to see if it would sync now, and it did!!! so happy now. will see what happens tomorrow.

By any chance, did you have the Find My iPhone app installed prior to it being stolen?

I followed the instructions in those 2 articles. Still not able to see the device in ITunes. I reinstalled the latest iTunes and all updates to my iMac (Mac OSX ver 10.6.8). I tried 3 different USB Cables in different USB ports. Rebooting both the Iphone and IMac. Still nothing seems to be working. I searched the discussion boards and I see other people with the same problem but they seem to run into the same problems finding a solution. I dont understand what happened because this was working properly up until 2 days ago. Do you have any more suggestions?

Thanks for a reply. iPod does not support ntfs - you're right. that means it will never work on that. While restoring ipod using iTunes, itunes reformats it no matter what filesystem is there. So the issue is not that. ipod is now on fat32 and it works for a certain period of time, but then crashes and asks to restore through itunes. Resetting/restarting does not help.

Iphone 4 will not sync with itunes. I tunes will freeze when it says waiting for sync to start . I can not put any media on my device ! please help !!!

I have had exactly the same problem before, I have followed the guide as suggested to the letter and still no joy, each time (3 times now) that I have reinstalled the latest version of iTunes it is recognised and syncs with my iphone but with the next reboot of my computer it is gone again.

Why won't my iphone 3gs will not sync with itunes???

Not true. The music and pic sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
You really should transfer everything from the old computer, or your backup copy of your computer. Since you do not have access to the old computer, then use your backup copy of the old computer.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy of your computer ( not good), then you would have to transfer itunes purchased as described earlier. Any other itunes content would be lost.
You can e-mail photo library pics to yourself, but they will not be of the original quality.
Before syncing, enter at least one unique contact and calendar entry on the computer. When you first sync, then you should get the option to merge the data.

You are correct. Syncing should transfer any purchased media, including videos, from your device to your iTunes library provided your computer is authorized for the Apple ID used to make these purchases. You mentioned that you have uninstalled iTunes before, but if you didn't follow this guide exactly, uninstalling iTunes and all of its components in the order specified, it may not have been successful so you should try again: Windows XP or Windows Vista/7.
