Too many addresses per customer = synch crash

Hi,
I have spent the last few hours getting to the bottom of this problem. There seems to be a limit to the number of addresses that the synch manager can successfully synch per customer. We have a number of customers with addresses that exceed 250 addresses.
If any update was made to one of these BP's the synch manager was crashing with no error message. Running SQL Profiler showed that the synch got about 250 or so addresses in before crashing.
A bit of experimentation (deleting addresses) has shown that the maximum for my setup seems to be about 250 addresses per customer.
As I lowered the number I also received an error message relating to Out of memory (this is a 4GB RAM server).
My course of action will be to make sure that we have a maximum of 250 addresses per BP (unless anyone else has a better course of action), but I just thought I would flag this in case anyone else was having this problem.
Martin.

This problem no longer affects me. We simply reduced the number of addresses, many were obsolete.
The synch is running smoothly for me except for the problem listed in the other thread.
Thanks.
Martin.

  • Too many addresses in mail's "From" pull-down menu

i have 3 mobileme addresses, a few of aliases, and 1 gmail account. my problem is this:
when composing a new message, there are too many addresses the "from" pull-down menu, because mail includes both the .mac and .me versions of each of my aliases. so, instead of a list of 6 addresses, mail shows 10. furthermore, the addresses appear, in the menu, in a random order, making it even harder to find and select the address i need:
    they display in this order:
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    - how do i get mail to stop listing both the .mac and .me versions of addresses (aliases) in the pull-down menu?
    - and how do i alphabetize the list?
    thanks.

i must have been really tired when posting the above. lol. obviously i meant "a few aliases" and "there are too many addresses in the 'from' pull-down menu."
i hope someone knows how to address this issue. (no pun intended.)

  • Too many addresses - unable to scroll down in error message

I composed a message with a couple of hundred addresses to send on gmail. The message bounced back with an error message saying that the email could not be sent with the server. The list of addresses that could not be sent start about 1/4 of the way through the complete list that was on the original message which gives me the impression that the list was simply too long.
I know there are instructions at the foot of the list, but I can't find a way to scroll down to the bottom of the list because it goes off the bottom of the screen. The message no longer shows in drafts or the sent file. When I do a force quit and restart the message comes up in the same format and I'm unable to do anything with it because the instructions are off-screen below.
Any ideas on how to deal with this?
    GW

First, check all your relevant System Preferences.
Scroll bar prefs are in Appearance, mouse behaviour is in Keyboard & Mouse, and finally check the settings in Universal Access also.
If all those check out, are you running a 3rd-party utility that might affect mouse / scroll behaviour? Use Activity Monitor to see everything that is running on your machine.

  • Suddenly too many MB per disc

Suddenly when I put in a music disc and call it up, it reads 10X the amount of memory that it used to, i.e. a particular album I load previously indicated about 46 minutes took up 47 MB....now when I tried it again for a test it reads 469 MB. Tried to change AAC to MP3 and even WAV but it doesn't seem to matter. The reason I did this test was that I noticed that any disc I tried to load took up a great deal of memory. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the Boards Francis (-:
"Tried to change AAC to MP3 and even WAV but it doesn't seem to matter."
    It does matter, alot.
Encoded AAC or MP3 @ 128 Kbps requires approx. 1MB of storage per stereo minute of runtime.
Unencoded 16 bit / 44.1 kHZ PCM (i.e. WAV or AIF format at the same resolution as used in the Audio CD standard) requires approx. 10.5MB of storage per stereo minute of runtime.
So if you're ripping from CD and switch from MP3 or AAC to WAV format (based on the abovementioned bitrates/resolutions), your tracks will take up 10x more space on your hard disk.
If you're trying to burn a CD and you've selected "Audio CD" format in your prefs, iTunes will convert all tracks to 16/44.1 PCM files (i.e. 10.5MB/minute) for compatibility with the Red Book Audio CD standard, thus enabling the burnt disc to be played by garden variety audio CD players. Hence, a 128Kbps AAC/MP3 file that takes up 4MB in your iTunes Library will blow out to approx. 40MB when burnt in Audio CD format.
    Hope that all makes sense (-;

  • BB Curve 8520 : Too many files per directory ?

    Hello,
I recently bought a 16 GB micro-SD card, and formatted it for my BlackBerry Curve 8520, but when I try to copy the entire content of my music folder (about 2000 files) in the card, my BlackBerry tells me the card contains some errors and i need to format it again. However it works when I only put a small amount of files on the card (for example, 50 music files). Is there a way to fix this ? Do i need to split my music into different folders or something ?
    Thanks in advance,

  • When I close firefox with ctrl-alt-delete, I want to start over on Firefox, I usually do this when too many tabs and windows are open. However, Firefox always restores the tabs and windows I previously had. How can I stop that from happening?

This happens when FireFox is not responding, and I want to close firefox with ctrl-alt-delete. Too many tabs can make Firefox crash. That is why I want to use ctrl-alt-delete to close FireFox. I tried finding a way to disable this, but I found no option to.

Ending the Firefox program or process with the Windows Task Manager "looks like" a crash. The proper way to exit Firefox is click Firefox button > Exit (or File > Exit, if using the Menu Bar).

  • Mail won't handle many addresses

    Hello;
I am using a MacBookPro OS 10.6.8 with Mail 4.5. If I try to send an email with 250 addresses in the Bbc line, the Send function fails. If I break the addresses up into groups of 25, I can send them all. So there is nothing wrong with the individual addresses. Mail seems to overload with too many addresses. Why is that?

    Hello;
The reaction to my attempt to send the email is fairly quick. I don't think it is from the ISP server but something in Mail itself. I don't remember the exact wording of the error message, but a window pops up with a long list of email addresses that the program says are corrupt. As I said, if I break this long list into smaller sections, all the separate emails go through just fine so the addresses are, infact, not corrupt at all. The older Mail programs used to send this many emails without any trouble.
I only do this once a year, but perhaps should look into a bulk mail service.
    Thank you.

  • PC name incorrect in iPhone per wifi Synch.

I have seen many discussions per iPhone synch issue with wifi.   As many others have experienced, when I invoke "Settings > iTunes Wi-Fi Sync", and observe the unavailable 'Sync Now" button, there is a message per will synch when <PC NAME> is available.
My problem is obvious, as the PC NAME in the message is wrong.   It matches a previous computer, not the current one.   The last synch date is several months ago, which makes me think this actually worked on the old laptop.
I have been unable to find information on how to reset the PC NAME inside the iPhone.   If someone can share how to perform this rename in the iPhone I would appreciate it very much.

  • Too many open socket connections causing ColdFusion to crash?

I’m currently working on an e-commerce site which sends and receives information to/from the client’s order management system via XML over a TCP/IP socket.  It uses a very old java-based custom tag called CFX_JSOCKET (which appears to have been written in 2002) to open the socket, send the data, and get the response.  The code that calls the custom tag and sends/receives data from the OMS pre-dates my working on the site, but its always worked, so I haven’t paid it much attention.
Back in the summer of 2009 we started experiencing issues with ColdFusion (v.7 on Window 2003 at the time) locking up on a more and more frequent basis, until it ultimately became a daily issue.  After extensive research we narrowed the issue down to the communication between the web server and our client’s order management server.  It seemed the issue with ColdFusion hanging was either related to there being too many connections open, or to these connections hanging and resulting in dead threads.  This an educated guess based on a blog post I’d seen online, not actual monitoring of either CF or the TCP/IP connections.  As soon as we dialed back the timeout on the CFX_JSOCKET tag from 20 seconds to 10, the issue disappeared, so we left it at that and moved on.
Fast forward to this January. The site is hosted at a new location, on a 64-bit Windows 2008 box running ColdFusion 9.  Over the years traffic on the site has continued to grow.  The nature of the clients business means that August and January are their business times of the year (back to school for college kids) and in January ColdFusion once again started locking up on an almost-daily basis.
One significant difference is that the address cleansing software that previously ran on the box and was used to verify shipping addresses is not available for 64-bit, so when we moved to the new server last summer, that task was moved to the client’s order management software and handled via XML like all other interaction with that system. However, while most XML calls to that server (order input, inventory check, etc) take under a second to complete, the address cleansing call regularly takes over 5 seconds to return data, and frequently times out.
Once we eliminated the address cleansing call from the checkout process, ColdFusion once again stopped locking up regularly.  So it appears that once again it’s the communication between the web server and the order management server that’s causing problems. We currently have that address cleansing call disabled on the web site in order to keep ColdFusion from crashing, but that’s not a long term solution.
We don’t have, nor can I find online, the source code for the CFX_JSOCKET custom tag, so I decided I’d write some CF code utilizing the java methods to open the socket, send the data, get the response, and close the connection.  My test code is working fine (under no load).  However, in trying to troubleshoot an issue I had with it, I started monitoring the TCP/IP connections using TCPView.  And I noticed that all the connections to the order management server, whether opened via the custom tag or my new code, remain open in either a TIME_WAIT or FIN_WAIT2 status for well over 2 minutes, even though I know for a fact that my new code is definitely closing the connection from the web server side.
They do all close eventually, but I’m wondering 1. Why they’re remaining open that long; 2. Is that normal; and 3. If all these connections remaining open could be what’s causing ColdFusion to choke.
Does this sound plausible?  If so, does anyone have any suggestions/recommendations about how to fix it?  My research seems to indicate this might be a matter of the order management system not closing the connection on its end, but I’m in way over my head, and before I go to client and tell them it’s their OMS causing the issue, I need to feel a little more confident that I’m on the right track.
Any help or advice would be very greatly appreciated.  And thanks for taking the time to read through my long-winded explanation of the problem.

    Hi Laurie,
Not aware of custom tag called CFX_JSOCKET. I guess the process you described very well is consuming a resource then you are getting a problem. Trick is what parameter to adjust. Perhaps you are running out of one the threads in CFadmin > Server Settings > Request Tuning.
I expect if you enable CF Metrics logging where you can log the threads and other resources then you can find out which parameter needs adjusting. Let me know if you want some details on enabling CF Metrics. Perhaps others will have much better idea than me and help without the overhead of logging.
The other interesting thing is you are using CF9.0.0. Do you have some reasons for not being on updater1 CF9.0.1?
    HTH, Carl.
PS I posted before however seems to have gone, just hope does not come back and then I have posted twice.

  • Firefox crashes when too many images are opened

Okay, so, a problem that appeared in 4.0 for me, and hasn't gone away ever since.
The problem is basically summarized in the short description - whenever too many heavy images are in the browser's tabs simultaneously, it slows down to a halt; then sometimes as I scroll it fails to redraw the page, with black non-redrawn area increasing as I scroll and disappearing as I change tabs back and forth.
After a dozen seconds of such sad behaviour, the browser crashes.
Sometimes, however, things go better. And it just crashes.
The problem can be easily replicated with Save Images extension, say, on any photo hosting, or by opening
    http://danvolodar.livejournal.com/friends/big_picture
It should be noted that 3.6 never had that problem, and opened pages where I aggregated thousands of images, - slowly, of course, but it ''did'' work. 4 and 5 do ''not''.

  • Why Customer get too many "Connection reset by peer"

    Hi,
I have CSS 11503 V7.50 without SSL Module.
I have 4 real servers and LB method is Round Robin. Customer tests the methods by using two way.
First A requestor try to connect service via VIP address.Second requestor try to connect to real servers by using directly real server IP address (Bypass Load balacer)
Customer cheks the real server logs and sees that in first experiment (via VIP) there too many "connection reset by peer" messages. For second experiment there are few same messages.
I wonder why real servers get this messages. Plus, why CSS reset flows. I know flow timeout does that. But if there are too many idle flows, it says something wrong?

There is a command, but I was more thinking about the server side counter or log info.
If you really want to see if the CSS sent a RESET or not, you can use the following engineering command
