Too many APs out there!

Hello All!
I just moved into an apartment complex. There are 4 more of them in the area. Ran a scan with Netstumbler and WirelessMon, both of them show a lot of APs out there. My wireless network hasn't worked right since I moved here. I put my wrt300n in auto mode. All I get are slow and dropped connections.
Specs:

wpa2 aes+tkip
firmware 1.03.6

No. Monitor mode is a special mode into which you can put some wireless cards (or probably most of them but it is not documented nor available through the driver). A normal wireless card will only listen to beacons (the SSID broadcasts) and to traffic labeled with the associated SSID. What the card does not capture is other traffic of other SSIDs. To capture that traffic you have to put the card into "monitor mode". In that mode it simply receives whatever it receives on the channel, i.e., you can see SSIDs even though they don't broadcast and you can read any unencrypted transmissions of anybody on the channel.
Wireshark does not support this. Wireshark works on a higher level. It only captures what the card passes through. That means it is always traffic on an associated wireless link.
I don't know the spectrum analyzer but I wonder if it is worth it to spend $199 for it and if you are able to improve your situation or whether it will only show what you already know: there are many APs. As the traffic patterns of those other APs (those other people) are not predictable it may not help much. One day you may have good results on channel 11. The other day your neighbor with the AP on channel 11 does some heavy downloading through the wireless...

Many times i see "too many cards" and there 3 or some times no cards

there are times when i see that message and there are no cards present and it will last so i have to restart my phone alot. is there anyway that sprint can fix this problem because it is extremely annoying. does anybody else have this problem??

Too many whingers

Going through this forum, it is clear that there are too many whingers out there. From what I can understand there are a few people with genuine problems...like software issues but the vast majority are people who are trying to push competitor products like droid, samsung, android os etc, on our face.
It is sincerely suggested to those phoneys to leave this forum to us iphone customers & join the forum of the phones you like. We don't want you here. Now S. Jobs has given you the option...those who don't like it return it & goodbye to you sad folks.
Here is a summary of the post I made at google's launch of android.........

Well, now that just doesn't make sense.
If there are so few people with the problem (.55%, right?) Why would there be "so many whiners"?
You'd think that less than 1% of the people who post here -- since this is, after all, an Apple love-fest and any dissent is roundly mocked -- you'd think that there would be only a tiny handful of "whiners."
There really is no problem with the phone, right?

Too many connections - even after closing ResultSets and PreparedStatements

I'm getting a "Too many connections" error with MySQL when I run my Java program.

The JDBC connection is closed by a central program that handles connections (custom connection pooling).
I added the code to close all ResultSets and PreparedStatements, and re-started MySQL as per the instructions here
but still get "Too many connections" error.
A few other things come to mind, as to what I may be doing wrong, so I have a few questions:
1) A few PreparedStatements are created in one method, and they are used in a 2nd method and closed in the 2nd method
does this cause "Too many connections" error?
2) I have 2 different ResultSets, in nested while loops where the outer loop iterates over the first ResultSet and
the inner loop iterates over the second ResultSet.
I have a try-finally block that wraps the inner while loop, and I'm closing the second ResultSet and PreparedStement
in the inner while loop.
I also have a try-finally block that wraps the outer while loop, and I'm closing the first ResulSet and PreparedStatement
in the outer while loop as soon as the inner while loop completes.
So, in the above case the outer while loop's ResultSet and PreparedStatements remain open until the inner while loop completes.
Does the above cause "Too many connections" error?

I will look at the central connection pooling mechanism ( which was written by someone else) , but that is being used by many other Java programs others have written.
They are not getting this error.

There's probably something else in my code that is not closing the connection.
But I just wanted to rule out the fact that opening a PreparedStatement in one method and closing it in another is not a problem.
Or, if nested ResultSet loops don't cause the problem.
I've read in a few threads taht "Too many connections" can occur for unclosed RS and PS , and not just JDBC connections.

Has anyone out there been charged for texts that were hung up and sent thousands of times?

I just wanted to know how many others out there may have had text/billing issues like mine, and then had to fight the useless battle of trying to get help from Verizon's Customer Service group. Let me tell you my story. One evening I came home, and sent a text to a friend who was visiting a dying friend. I sent the text ONE time. Then later in the evening, I tried to send more texts and phone calls, but I kept getting a message that I wasn't connected to the network. For most of the night, I was unable to place a call or send another text. I did manage to get/send (don't remember which) one call, then it started all over again. When I wen to bed that night after shutting it down several times, my phone was still useless. The next am my friend sends me a text that he had gotten the text about 250+ times. I shut the phone down for a while, but then he sent another one saying he had gotten it around 3000 times. Well, I get my bill for the month and low and behold they charged me over $150.00 EXTRA for all these texts. I only had 1500 on my plan. Of course, it my history with Verizon, i had never sent over 3000 texts before, so they can clearly see my volume history. I placed a call to get this resolved and was told that, of course, no supervisor was available, but he saw what happened, assured me that he would get this taken care of, but just needed to get with his supervisor and would call me the next day. NEVER GOT A RETURN call. I placed yet another call and spoke to a guy named Dwayne. He did call me back, but just to leave me a voice mail letting me know that they deemed the charges to be valid and they would NOT be issuing a credit. TWO more calls later, I have spoken to 3 different reps-1 who claimed to be a supervisor. I was promised 2 more times that I would get a call back by the next day and of course have still not received calls back from any of these people. In the meantime, I paid the portion of my bill that was VAILID. After wasting ALL MY TIME trying to get this resolved, what did I get today? A text warning me to pay my bill to avoid interuption!
Anyone else had this problem? I just filed a complaint with the FCC and I urge anyone else that has had this problem to do the same!!! Verizon needs to hear that people are sick of this poor service and shady billing practices!

I haven't seen any one reported issues like this but have you checked that your device isn't part of the issue because I have ran into a issue with my message saying it wasn't sent but it did but never the number of times you have experienced..
Now as for the billing situation this may be a little bit hard to give you a solution, I know this may not be the solution you want but you may have to simply keep trying to see if you can get a workable solution for your situation.

Multi-master replication questions for iPlanet 5.0, gurus out there?

I'm using iPlanet Dir Server 5.0 and I note that many gurus out there has
been able
to get this to work, that's good, but I have yet to. I have several
questions, maybe
someone can spend a few minutes and save me hours...
I have a suffix called dc=calient,dc=net. I followed the suggestions in
the
iPlanet install guide and created 2 directory servers
a) suffix o=NetscapeRoot, at some arbitrary port, 4601
b) suffix dc=calient,dc=net, at the usual port 389.
All my searches/create/delete work fine. However, when I try to replicate
with multi-master between 2 machines, I keep getting into problems.
Here's one set of questions...
Q1: do people out there really split their tree from the o=NetscapeRoot
tree?
Q2: The admin guide says the the unit of replication is a database, and
that each replication can only have 1 suffix. Is this true? Can
a replicated db have more than 1 suffix?
Q3: If I also want to replicate the o=NetscapeRoot tree, I have to set
up yet 2 more replication agreements. Isn't this more work? If
I just lump the 2 suffixes together, wouldn't it be easier? But would
it work?
Q4: I followed the instructions to enable replicas on the masters.
But then I tried to create this cn=Replication Manager, cn=config
object.
But what is the object class of this entry? An iPlanet user has uid
as its RDN... I tried a person object class, and I added a password.

First, please read the 'Deployment Guide'. I think that is easier to
understand when you want to setup multi-master replication. The
'Administrator's Guide' gives you step-by-step instructions, but it may
not help you to understand how to design your directory services.

Document contains too many nodes error when extracting xml tag name

I Have a large xml file in which the tag contains ~: as the value.
Now I am trying to extract all the tags which have ~: as the value and store that column using the following query and insert into a table.

The xml file was generated using dbms_xmlgen.getxml. Table has 48 columns and around 4000 rows.
My above insert query gave me an error of 31186 too many nodes error.
I am using oracle version 10.2.0.3.

Is there a better way of extracting the xml tag element name based on the xmltag content?
There is one other table which has 172 columns but only 100 rows so it doesnt create any problem on that table.
But this QC table has less columns but many many rows...

There is a requiremnent of taking centain type of data backup and restore it.
It was implemented on flat file approach which was giving errors.
So it was implemented using XML approach.
Read data, store in xml file and read from xml file and load it into table.
Further, found that dbms_xmlstore is not able to handle tag only with whitespace
and tried to use the loading xml file into xmltype table column and extract data.
XMLTYPE column also has same problem of ignoring whitespace when used with extractvalue functions.
So for the workaround I update xmlfile having only one more more whitespace in the tag to have ~: character once.
After restoring data from xml to table I would run update qeury to update ~: to " ".
Now instead of running blind update for all the tables and all the columns from ~: to " " I thouhgt whyy not create a xml file of tag having ~:
along with its tablename.
and thats where I found the problem of too many nodes...
THe insert query you saw is populating table for table_name and column_name with tag having only ~: in it.
I hope this gives you the fair idea of stuff I am doing.

It's too late for that now.
IF you had PhotoStream turned on, they may have already uploaded... though you will only find the last 30 days/1000 photos there after you restore.

Safari won't open my gmail because of "too many redirects". I was in my gmail account and was forwarding an e-mail at the time I was "kicked out" of my gmail and then saw the screen about too many "redirects".

Can't figure out how to make "sub-tabs" / Too many "top-tabs" / Other ?

First of all, the website that I am webmaster for is: www.cindydennis.org .
I am having some problems:
1) There are TOO MANY tabs at the top. I can't figure out how to make sub-headings on one page...
For example, I'd like on the "About CDM" page, tabs that can be clicked on to go to other information tabs, but that don't end up appearing on the top (e.g.: having "Remarks" and "What We Believe" tabs go there, but not appear at the top).
Another example, if you look at the home screen, I'd like to have the link to the "Privacy Policy" and Terms of Service" pages on the bottom, but not have them appear as tabs in the top, too.
How do I do this, please? I've searched, and can't figure out/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png
2) How do I add "Copyright 2011" automatically? I saw in the Rapidweaver trial version, it automatically adds it when you publish... is there a way to tell this program to do this? Or do I need to type that in on each page? (I don't want to purchase RW... I'm not ready for that yet.)

Cindee ~ One way to do the copyright notice is to use a Text Clipping — Select (highlight) the copyright text you want to use and drag it to the Desktop. If necessary, change the name of the Clipping icon so that it's more easily identifiable on the Desktop. Then, when you need it in iWeb, simply drag the Clipping icon from the Desktop to iWeb's main canvas.

I take a lot of people shots and have way too many out of focus pics.

I have way too many out of focus shots. I usually use tv mode with the shutter set at least 250 with the anti shake on. I know there is a balance of aperature, iso and they seem to be close enough for lighting but the out of focus drives me nuts. This is the most important aspect of a pic in my opinion. I have sent my T2i in for focus issues two times and cannot tell a difference. Any suggestions????

I seem to recall each part is about 30 minutes, but well worth the time in what you'll learn about the focus system that you might not have known.
A LOT of factors can result in out of focus images. Camera movement (slow shutter speed during a hand-held shot) is just one of many possibilities.

There is no such Trojan or other malware known today that will do that using OS X nor has there ever been one. The most probable explanation is that somebody hacked into your e-mail account on the server, so you should change that password to something stronger right away. If it had come from your Mac then there would almost certainly be copies of those messages in your Sent Mail mailbox.

Something went wrong with the update, this can and does happen with every version of iOS.
There is nothing wrong with the update.
Simply restore the device via iTunes on the computer.
If iTunes is stating it will take hours to update, that indicates an extremely slow Internet connection and is likely the reason the OTA update failed.
