Too many deps while trying to remove xfce4-xfapplet-plugin - normal?

I noticed that pacgraph -c shows that xfce4-xfapplet-plugin is taking up 119 MB of space.  When I look it up, I see that it only allows gnome applets to run which I don't care about (http://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra … et-plugin/).  When I queue up the recursive removal of it via a pacman -Rs xfce4-xfapplet-plugin there are a bunch of packages that I wouldn't expect to be in the list:
# pacman -Rs xfce4-xfapplet-plugin

Do you want to remove these packages? [Y/n] n
I don't believe it's safe to remove some of these like fuse for example.  Also, why would lsof be in the list?

Those packages are either direct dependencies of xfce4-xfapplet-plugin or in a chain of dependencies.
For example lsof is required by udisks which is required by gnome-disk-utility which is required by gvfs which is required by libgnome which is required by libbonoboui which is required by gnome-panel which is required by xfce4-xfapplet-plugin.

  • Installing xfce4-xfapplet-plugin-0.1.0

    Hi guys,
    A few days ago, I started with Arch Linux to learn how Linux works. Beating my way through Google and Arch Website, I got Wireless Network, XFCE4 and some other nice services going, but this just won't work:
    I'd like to install xfce4-xfapplet-plugin-0.1.0. Pacman doesn't find anything, the package is not in abs (should be in XFCE goodies, but it's not), and when I try to install via tarball, .configure returns after a while of running around:
    checking for libpanelapplet-2.0 >= 2.0.0... not found
    *** The required package libpanelapplet-2.0 was not found on your system.
    *** Please install libpanelapplet-2.0 (atleast version 2.0.0) or adjust
    *** the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
    *** installed the package in a nonstandard prefix so that
    *** pkg-config is able to find it.
    I couldn't find any help on that online. Does anybody know what's wrong?
    Cheers,
    Kalsan

    You're in for some work here. You could conceivably make this work with mate-panel which is a fork of gnome 2, but the paths are different and you'd need to write that into the pkgbuild to build it.
    I think if you search for mate xfce and gnome panel you might find some pointers to get you started. But I think you are better off looking for substitutes.

  • Error while trying to remove an object with dsrm command

    hello,
    i get an error while trying to delete an object computer with the command line tool, DSRM. i get this view:
    actually, it's a one of hundreds of commands, that help cleaning the active directory of the obsolete objects. it is saying : "Access Denied" (in french, accès refusé). i say that the account used to execute this command, is a member of domain
    admins group, and enterprise admins group too. so i cannot believe it's a mater of some missing rights... :/
    thanks in advance, for your help,

    Hi,
    I was able to reproduce your issue when using a non-elevated command prompt in a 2008R2 box. So please try to elevate your command prompt and your command will most likely go through.
    In addition to above, I'd suggest you look in to PowerShell instead, which in most cases is more effective.(and doesn't need to run in an elevated prompt to make AD-Changes)
    The same as above could be done with the powershell cmdlet Remove-AdComputer.
    Remove-AdComputer -Identity "Distinguishedname"
    Hope this helps you!

  • Getting error PLS-00307: too many declarations while instantiating object.

    Hi,
    I'm using oracle 10.2.0.4.0
    I've created an object obj_bsk as follows:
    create or replace type obj_bsk as object
    (batch_set_key varchar2(64),
    constructor function obj_bsk
    return self as result,
    constructor function obj_bsk(p_batch_set_key in varchar2)
    return self as result,
    member procedure display_batch_set_key
    and object body as
    create or replace type body obj_bsk as
    constructor function obj_bsk
    return self as result is
    begin
    self.batch_set_key := sys_guid();
    return;
    end;
    constructor function obj_bsk (p_batch_set_key varchar2)
    return self as result is
    begin
    self.batch_set_key := p_batch_set_key;
    return;
    end;
    member procedure display_batch_set_key is
    begin
    dbms_output.put_line('batch_set_key is:' || self.batch_set_key);
    end;
    end;
    Then I've created a package test_obj as follows:
    specification:
    create or replace package test_obj is
    -- Author : TSHARMA
    -- Created : 31/01/2012 10:32:37
    -- Purpose : to test objects
    my_bsk obj_bsk;
    g_batch_set_key varchar2(64);
    procedure show_obj_val;
    end test_obj;
    body:
    create or replace package body test_obj is
    procedure show_obj_val is
    begin
    my_bsk.display_batch_set_key();
    end;
    begin
    -- Initialization
    if (g_batch_set_key is not null) then
    my_bsk := obj_bsk(g_batch_set_key);
    else
    my_bsk := obj_bsk();
    end if;
    end test_obj;
    When I'm compiling the package I'm getting following error:
    Compilation errors for PACKAGE BODY TSHARMA.TEST_OBJ
    Error: PLS-00307: too many declarations of 'OBJ_BSK' match this call
    Line: 12
    Text: my_bsk := obj_bsk(g_batch_set_key);
    Error: PL/SQL: Statement ignored
    Line: 12
    Text: my_bsk := obj_bsk(g_batch_set_key);
    Can anyone please explain why oracle is viewing it as too many call for constructor when both constructors are different.
    and how to resolve the issue.
    Thanks
    Tarun

    I've solved the problem. Though it is strange.
    The error occurred because I'm using p_batch_set_key as parameter constructor.
    i.e. constructor function obj_bsk(p_batch_set_key in varchar2)
    return self as result,
    once I changed it to the same name as variable name in object it compiled fine.
    i.e constructor function obj_bsk(batch_set_key in varchar2)
    return self as result,
    It is very strange. Can anyone plesae explain why the parameter name should be same as variable name in object.
    Thanks
    Tarun

          v_empid               p_empid_type;
       BEGIN
          SELECT DISTINCT emp_id , 'ABC'
          BULK COLLECT INTO v_empid
                     FROM emp
                    WHERE empid IN (SELECT ord_id
                                       FROM table_x
                                      WHERE column_x = 'ABC');
          FORALL i IN v_empid.FIRST .. v_empid.LAST
             INSERT INTO my_table
                  VALUES v_empid(i);
          COMMIT;
    PL/SQL: ORA-00913: too many values in line - BULK COLLECT INTO v_empid

    Hello, since you're SELECTing a constant string, why not:
    TYPE p_empid_type IS TABLE OF INTEGER;
          v_empid               p_empid_type;
       BEGIN
          SELECT DISTINCT emp_id
          BULK COLLECT INTO v_empid
                     FROM emp
                    WHERE empid IN (SELECT ord_id
                                       FROM table_x
                                      WHERE column_x = 'ABC');
          FORALL i IN v_empid.FIRST .. v_empid.LAST
             INSERT INTO my_table
                  VALUES v_empid(i), 'ABC';
    Edit Untested: may not work
    This would be the best BULK COLLECT of all:
    INSERT /*+ APPEND */ INTO my_table
    SELECT DISTINCT emp_id , 'ABC'
      FROM emp
    WHERE empid IN (SELECT ord_id
          FROM table_x
         WHERE column_x = 'ABC');
          COMMIT;

  • Error 25211. Failed to install performance counters while trying to remove a 2012 SP1 agent from system.

    I have a system that has the "Repair and Uninstall" options grayed out from the Management Server (2012 SP-1) and if I go to the system itself, I have tried repairing the Agent Installation (Does not work successfully) and I now am trying to "uninstall"
    the agent from the system.   I keep getting about 1/2 way through the uninstall and an error opens that "Cannot install performance counters".    The system is Windows 2003 Standard Edition SP2.   The system also
    has a SCOM 2007 directory locally that cannot be deleted because a log file is in use.  There are no other agents locally on the system through "Add / Remove Programs" within Control Panel.
    A little history.
    We have two Environments (2012 R2 and the other 2012-SP1).  Some system were "Dual-Homed".   This one was not.  I am trying to uninstall the SP-1 agent so we can move it to the R2 environment.   It previously had MOM
    2005 agent tha was uninstalled and it appears to have had a 2007 agent installed at some point, but only the trace directory that I can find.
    I have tried rebuild commands for performance counter and it appears to be functioning correctly.

    Hi,
    Can you see the agent under pending management? You may upgrade the agent through the console.
    When you upgrade an agent, the Operations Manager installer service runs and is not removed until after the completion of the upgrade. If the agent upgrade fails, you might have to re-install the agent because the installer service was not properly removed.
    If you attempt to upgrade the agent again and it fails, you should re-install the agent after you have completed upgrading all features of Operations Manager.
    After rebuilding performance counter by following the link below, you may try to uninstall the agent and check the result:

  • 'sort key too long error' while trying to use dynamic sql

    Hi All,
    I have been trying to generate an interactive report using a dynamically generated SQL query.. for this I have
    1) Created a application process that returns the dynamically generated SELECT statement
    2) Create a process in the page which creates a collection based on the SELECT statement returned by the application process
    3) An interactive report that selects ALL (SELECT * ....) from that particular collection.
    On implementing I am getting the 'ORA-01467: sort key too long' error.
    On checking this out online I realized that one has to change the Block size of the database to get past this error, but in order to do that I would have to re-create the database, create a backup of the data and then re enter them into the new database which would be a nightmare.
    I would like to know if there is any work around to this....
    CODE IN THE APPLICATION PROCESS
    DECLARE
    q VARCHAR2(1000);
    BEGIN
    IF :P124_COUNTRY - :P124_WORK_GROUP - :P124_PRODUCT - :P124_ROLE = 1 THEN
    q:= 'SELECT VISA_COUNTRY AS "Country", ROUND(((COUNT(VISA_ID)/(SELECT COUNT(ROW_ID) FROM PSA_RESOURCE_MANAGER WHERE ACTIVE_FLAG = ''Y''))*100),2) || ''%'' AS "Travel Readiness %" FROM PSA_VISA_INFO WHERE ACTIVE_FLAG = ''Y'' AND VISA_ACTIVE_FLAG = ''Y'' GROUP BY VISA_COUNTRY';
    END IF;
    return q;
    END;
    CODE IN THE PROCESS THAT CREATES THE COLLECTION:
    APEX_COLLECTION.CREATE_COLLECTION_FROM_QUERY_B(
    p_collection_name => 'TRAVRED_TEST',
    p_query => 'application_process=set_query' );
    CODE IN THE INTERACTIVE REPORT:
    Select *
    From apex_collections
    Where collection_name = 'TRAVRED_TEST';
    I also tried selecting just 'c001, c002' etc which gave me a 'no data found' output. The query work fine when I ran it in the SQL Workshop
    Please help!
    Thanks in advance :)

    Hey Ben,
    I am getting the same error when I used the following code in the app process....
    DECLARE
    q VARCHAR2(32767);
    BEGIN
    IF :P124_COUNTRY - :P124_WORK_GROUP - :P124_PRODUCT - :P124_ROLE = 1 THEN
    q:= 'SELECT visa_country,
    COUNT(visa_id) visa_count
    FROM psa_visa_info
    WHERE active_flag = 'Y'
    AND visa_active_flag = 'Y'
    GROUP BY visa_country),
    row_id_count AS
    (SELECT /*+ MATERIALIZE */
    COUNT(ROW_ID) row_count
    FROM PSA_RESOURCE_MANAGER
    WHERE ACTIVE_FLAG = 'Y')
    SELECT visa_country,
    ROUND(visa_count/(SELECT row_count FROM row_id_count)*100,2) travel_readiness FROM PSA_VISA_INFO WHERE ACTIVE_FLAG = ''Y'' AND VISA_ACTIVE_FLAG = ''Y'' GROUP BY VISA_COUNTRY';
    END IF;
    return q;
    END;
    Thanks

  • Lately I have been getting many too many popups while browsing how to prevent?

    I typically visit newspaper sites, Yahoo, TWC and others, I am bombarded with pop-up ads top, bottom and both sides of the screen. Sometimes they block the information. Many do not have "X" in the corners and often they jump to their site if I click by mistake.
    This is a fairly recent issue maybe a month old but seems to be getting worse or my patience is wearing!
    Any insight would be appreciated.

    Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of (What is? LyricXeeker).
    You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

    [http://windows.microsoft.com/MSE Microsoft Security Essentials] is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

  • "too many redirects"

    I can't read my gmail by way of mail.google.com.  It goes to my inbox for a split second then goes to a page that says "Safari can't open the page" followed by "Too many redirects occurred trying to open…….". This happens whether I go to mail.google.com or google.com and log in then try to go open gmail.  I can't check either of my gmail accounts.  I reset Safari yesterday and that didn't fix. I have also had to force quit Safari several times in the last 24 hours. I have to use Firefox to read my mail.
