Too many events for FCPX?

I have a fairly large project where we filmed close to a hundred locations. We categorized each of those locations as an event. Now when we launch FCP, it seems to be too much for FCPX. Searching across multiple events takes quite a long time while FCP "preps" the media.
My solution has been to make a folder called "Final Cut Events INACTIVE". I then drag all the events that aren't being used in a given project to that folder so that FCPX will perform better. The problem is that our main edit needs some content from ALL of those events, so I really need all 100 events available.
So basically I'm asking if others have this kind of event-overload performance issue. If so, what are solutions? Certainly I could get a faster HD. Right now I'm using an external FW800 2TB drive on a brand new iMac 3.4 i7 with 16GB RAM. So that's a pretty decent setup. I hate to drop a ton of cash on a Thunderbolt RAID just so I can access 100 events easily. That seems unnecessary.
The FW800 drive plays back our native, unoptimized MTS media just fine (re-wrapped as MOV), so generally speaking, it performs quite well. I guess I just find it disappointing that FCPX doesn't ahndle a lot of events well unless there's something I can be doing to manage them better.
Also, is there a way to temporarily deactivate an event without resorting to my solution of moving it to an INACTIVE folder?

You don't say how many clips there are.
I have over 5,000 clips (some of 15 or even 20 minutes but most less than 25 seconds). These are split between ten events.
I have a 2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon Mac Pro with 16GB RAM.
When I click an event, it opens more or less instantly.
I suggest you have fewer actual events, and use keywords to categorise the locations.
It would be easy to do - just select all the clips in one event and press Cmd+K to add the location keyword to every clip, then drag the clips into an event.

Getting same error after modofying the parameter value MAX_EXPANDED_SUBQUERY_PREDICATES to 12000
Please suggest what could be the other reason it may fail or any other settings we need to check.

Normally the IN clause has restriction of 10000 values in general sql/plsql we will go with inline queries i think model your rpd to generate inner queries
select * from emp where dept_id in (Select distinct dept_id from dept);
or have a condition/filter on sub report and make one more inner report with sub-filter but definitely it will cause performance issues.

Too many lines for CO-PA assessment postings in KSB1

I created an assessment cycle in KEU1, with one segment, using an PA transfer structure (several cost elements to several value fields), and I´m using one single secondary cost element (category 42) to credit the cost centers.
When I execute the assessment via KEU5, the credits in the cost centers for the cost element category 42 generates too many lines (for example, I had 3 postings to 3 primary cost elements and in KSB1 I have 9 lines of "credits" - operation KSPA.):
Primary Cost Elements:
4110201004 ==> 3.000,00
4110209009 ==> 2.000,00
4110209013 ==> 1.000,00
Secondary cost element (after settlement through KEU5):

Do you know how can I summarize this postings to have only 3 (ore one) line for the secondary cost element? I cannot identify what was the criteria used by SAP to generate 9 lines.

the number of line item crediting the cost centre, shall be the same of the line item required in the COPA posting. So the more receiver you have in COPA , the more line item are created.

Hi Terrence, this is what happens, all too often when I click on something, sometimes it takes me 5 more clicks on the mouse while moving the cursor around to get rid of it. The one below popped up as I clicked on my junk mail.
The next one popped up when I was trying to get on to a site. This happens all the time. Don't know why it is happening. It happens on iPhoto, Aperture, everywhere I go, FaceBook...everywhere and at any time. So frustrating. I don't know if this is normal, but this was happening just before my last mac died a year ago.

Get a halfway decent system, something like:

"Bad Data, too many results for shortname"

Every 10 minutes since October 13 the wikid error log has recorded the following error message:
*"Bad Data, too many results for shortname: username"*, always naming the same user, who is not actually doing anything.
Coinciding with that message at the same time every 10 minutes, the system log records 13 or 14 of the following:
*"Python\[15645\]: ••• -\[NSAutoreleasePool release]: This pool has already been released, do not drain it (double release)."*
15645 is a process owned by _teamserver, which would appear to confirm the connection between the python and wikid error messages.
Last clue: The messages (I have determined in hindsight) started while I was setting up the server to do vacation messages. The user named in the "Bad data" messages was the user who wanted to (and did) set up a vacation message at that time. They worked, too.
Anyone have any ideas about what is going on and how to fix it? BTW, google does not find even one page where this "Bad data" error message is mentioned.

+As a bit of background, the wiki server keeps an private index of user and group information so we can track user preferences, and the "Bad Data, too many results for shortname: username" error is triggered when we do a lookup in that index for a particular user and we (unexpectedly) hit duplicate entries. Are you seeing an issue with using the software, or just an annoying log message?+ It's hard to say (for me) what might be related. The directory or wiki related issues with the server include:
• A memory issue with slapd that eventually causes it to crash. (preceded by lots of "bdbdbcache: db_open(+various: sn, displayname, givenname, mail, maybe others+) failed: Cannot allocate memory (12)" and "logging region out of memory" and "index_param failed" errors.
• The wiki is slow, despite very light use.
• Wake from sleep (network clients with authentication required) can be very slow. Several minutes even.
Any suggestions you may have would be appreciated.

Acme GiFEncoder: java.io.IOException: too many colors for a GIF

I have been using the Acme GifEncoder to save images as gifs. I have been using this quite successfully until today. For some reason it now gives an error when I try to use this in some circumstances. The exception is:
java.io.IOException: too many colors for a GIF
I am not sure why it will work in some situations and not others. If anyone can give any insight on this problem then I would appreciate it.

That is going to lead me on to have a bit of a rant about GifEncoders. I realise that gifs are limited to 256 colours. It is ridiculous that a GifEncoder would not limit the number of colours for you. If you have an image in another format such as jpg that does not have a limit the number of colours, the encoder is not able to convert it into gifs unless it has the number of colours reduced. As far as can tell this should be an essential function of the encoder, unless anyone can tell me differently.
Also if anyone can advise me on the Acme JpegEncoder I would appreciate it. It does not seem to work in any shape or form. I am not trying to do anything in particular with it now, so I have no code to show. I did try to use it before and it did not seem to work, so if anyone knows how to get it to work that would be great.

Multisim 2001 "too many parameters for subcircuit" error

When simulating circuits in Multisim 2001 with op amps from User library am getting Netlist Error message "Unable to correctly determine the nodes for the current circuit due to the following reasons:
Too many parameters for subcircuit type lf156_op_amps_1 (instance: xxu3)"
or a similar message for whatever op amp am using. Have tried creating components for several different op amps and always get same error message. Carefully checked the Pin Mapping Table and the symbol pins are correctly matched with order of pins in model. The only way have been able to get a simulation to run with op amp components in the User Library is if copy an op amp directly from Multisim library to User library and make no changes whatsoever. But if do something seemingly minor such as bring up the Symbol editor and add a text note underneath the symbol then get the "too many parameters for subcircuit" error.
Am also getting a Consistency Self Check error stating "Error: The circuit it empty. Simulation requires at least one ground." Do have ground in circuit; presumably this error is related to Netlist error above.
Operating system is Windows XP Professional.

Well, this is an interesting situation in Multisim 2001. I tried doing this with another component and had the same results. I just renamed the part with no other changes and re-saved it to my database and sure enough I got this error. I have no idea what is causing this other than just a bug in the software. Us 2001 users will just have to live with this unless someone does happen to find a solution.
I don't seem to have any problems when creating new components and using or editing existing symbols with new model information. This does suck. What if just wanted to edit one paramenter instead of using a completely different model? I really hope someone can find a workaround or solution to this. I am glad you broughtm this to our attention.

Access 2010 table has too many fields for web database - how to split into two web-compatible tables?

I'm in the process of converting an Access 2010 database into a web database and I'm having some trouble. I have a table which has 236 fields, which is more than the 220 field limit for web-compatible tables. I have tried to split this table into two tables
with a one-to-one relationship, but web tables can only use lookups as relationships. I've tried to connect the tables with a lookup and then synthesize a one-to-one relationship by using data macros but I'm not having much luck.
I realize that 236 fields is a lot, but it must be set up this way because each field represents a tasks and is a yes/no box to verify that the task has been completed - and the records are different employees for whom which the tasks need to be completed.
Could someone please help me figure out a way to make this table web compatible?

Not too familiar with XQuery rewrite, but i suspect by providing this hint, Oracle cannot optimize the query whatsoever.... tried this hint in my actual query and basically hangs.... I will attempt at opening an SR with Oracle...
the other option i'm looking at is checking the date ranges outside of xquery, and using a mix of xmltable, xmlexists and the SQL XML functions to reconstruct my xml.

How to overcome error 507 (too many events??)

By now have way over 20,000 events in Calendar and cannot update with iCloud anymore ("error 507" -- means too many, right?).
So I guess I have to delete some old ones, but cannot find the checkbox in Preferences-Advanced in Calendar anymore.
In i-Cloud web Preferences-Advanced there is a "Hide" old ones, but just hiding would not really solve the problem.
So what can one do with the new Calendar 6.0 to bulk-delete old entries?

I have too many apple devices to sync. Only one apple I'd at the moment. I am trying to figure out what to do? I have 3 iPads a 2 iPods and 1 iPod touch and an iPhone that I want to use the same overall library of content. What should I do when you can only have a maximum of 5 apple devices on one computer? Sorry not an apple genius.

If you asking me, I would suggest to additonally use a second storage service which also allows you to store your pictures over the 30 days period. I personally use Dropbox with automatic upload for that (https://db.tt/cMEgDUFZ), but there are also other storage services like Flickr for example.

Many events for ID 14554 appearing in System event log

I have two 2008 R2 domain controllers and one new 2012 R2 server I just promoted to DC a few days ago. One of the 2K8R2 servers holds all the FSMO roles. The new 2K12R2 DC is also an additional namespace server for domain-based namespace.
The DFS seems to be working fine, but about every 20 minutes the following 14554 event for 'DfsSvr' is logged:
The DFS Namespaces service has successfully initialized the shared folder that hosts the namespace root. Shared folder: ourDFSnamespace
This event does not appear on either of the two 2K8R2 DCs.

My personal opinion is that there are 2 possible cause of this event: It is newly added in Windows 2012 R2 (which means it is not an issue) or the DFS namespace added on your server do have trouble in recognizing.
Currently I did not find enough information about this event log. For a test could you try to remove Windows 2012 R2 as a referral target of this DFS namespace, force an AD replication and re-create it? If the settings is not complex you can have a try with
creating.
In the meantime I'll continue search to see if it is actually just a new event log in Windows 2012 R2.
