Too many pics help!

Went to copy pics from I phone kiosk said I have 1800 pics. I have 968 in my camera roll and the same in my photo stream. Why are the pics on my phone 2 times?

When you add a photo to the camera roll with photo stream enabled, it is automatically added to your photo stream and then streamed to all devices connected to your photo stream.  Since you phone is a device connected to your photo stream, it receives a copy of the photo too (in the my photo stream album).
If you don't want the duplicate photo in your camera roll on your phone, you can import it to your computer and then delete it from your phone as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

  • MBP, too many pics, and new 1 TB external HD, advice on how to procede

Hi, new to the forum, and essentially apple. MBP running 10.4.11 and i have 2 new babies. lots of pictures movies etc. so i figured i'd put all the pics on an external HD to free up the internal.
so now i have a big (1 TB my book) and i'm thinking that i should probably partition it so as to make best use of the space. what should i use the partitions for though? backup (is that time machine? or is that only on leopard) photos obviously. anything else? a bootable partition?
thanks alot for the help, advice, and consideration

    MMM.
For most effective use SuperDuper really needs a separate partition the same size as the internal drive too, OKC1234.
My own strategy in a situation like this (and I personally REALLY don't like having all the backups on the one drive, partitioned or otherwise, so I do much the same thing over several drives, but even partitions are safer than keeping it all on one volume!) would be to create a Time Machine partition twice the size of my internal drive (to allow for a fair amount of time before TM starts overwriting old files - lets face it - anyone using Tiger will almost certainly update to Leopard before long), a second SuperDuper partition equal in size to my internal drive, incrementally backed up automatically every day , to provide a "close to current" bootable backup, and whatever was left for a bit of extra free storage space for things I don't need on the internal HD all the time.
So I'd say three partitions minimum. I used to regularly partition my drives. For a while it became less necessary. Today, given Time Machine and Super Duper requirements, I think it makes good sense again.
    Cheers

  • Itunes too many pics!

itunes says i have >1000 photos using almost 4GB but the iphone camera roll says only 585 pics.  i am trying to update to ios7 but i cant because i am out of space.  i need the extra GB but dont know where itunes is seeing an extra 400 photos?!?!?
i know other people have had this problem after backing up or restoring, but i have done neither in a long time until this morning thinking that a backup would fix the issue.  but no, i tunes still says same thing.

Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...

  • Taking too many pics damages camera?

    Hey, guys
I've got an iPad Mini Retina Display 32 GB.
I took about 200 pics within a duration of one hour with regular intervals of about 5 secs. I wanted to know if it's safe or if I could damage my iPad's camera by doing it. Actually I did it because my printer was out of order and I had to scan a 200-page notebook, one page at a time.
Maybe I'm being paranoid but I'm asking this because the camera of Nokia N95 8GB I used to own has decreased significantly in quality and now it takes pictures that are ugly to look at.
    Thanks.

    it's safe

  • Too Many Activations HELP

I have a Sony Reader and like most new devices, it tends to lock up occasionally so it needs to be reset, removing all information from it, including DE activations.
I have been able to reauthorize till now with no problems. But today I am on number 5 activation and it won't do it. I get the E_ACT_TOO_MANY_ACTIVATIONS error message.
I have called Technical support in UK and they have no idea how to resolve this. A case has been opened #180428658
Quite frankly this is not good enough. I now have a non authorized device and lots of DE books I paid for but now can't read !!! There has to be a way to solve this, come on, it must be easy enough. Why limit the number of authorizations? People need to reset devices so this will always be an issue unless you resolve it quickly.
I now refuse to buy any more DE books, why bother if your DE locks me out fo them? Money down the drain, so I will not purchase any more DE books.
I have seen the 'workaround' where you create a new account on XP, but I don;t see how this is good enough. Plus all my books are stored on my normal account, so how would I get this to work? I guess you'd want me to transfer all my books to the new user account on XP. This really is not a solution at all. I need to use my usual XP account, I have everything stored on there.
This matter needs to be urgently addressed. I have paid good money to buy eBooks for my Sony Reader and now I can't read them due to a software glitch in DE........and you have no solution. I can see this issue was raised back in August, yet you STILL have no solution!? Not good at all.
I will not be wasting any more money on DE books until you can solve this and get it to stay solved.
I sincerely hope that you can at least try and resolve this issue urgently, please

    Try Adobe Live Chat: http://www.adobe.com/support/chat/ivrchat.html
They can reset your authorizations, and then you must reauthorize any devices you still need.
(Unfortunately, Adobe haven’t got round to an admin website for viewing and editing authorizations.)
    Some of the representatives haven't been properly trained and don't know what to do (and claim there is nothing they can do);
in that case the only way seems to be to give up that chat and try another session hoping for a properly trained representative.
If your problem is with another device using Overdrive, Bluefire, Aldiko or similar third party app, it is recommended not to mention that app when on the chat, just mention that you have run out of authorizations  (E_ACT_TOO_MANY_ACTIVATIONS) .  Thanks to AJP_Bear for that tip.

  • Undo undoes too many steps - help!

Can someone please explain to me how Undo works in CS4? I'll be working along, make a mistake, and when I hit CTRL-Z, I lose several steps in my process, not just the most recent one. Is there some kind of Undo setting that I can change so that it is only undoing a single step, instead of multiple? Thanks.

    Thanks for replying, Ken.
Here's an example of what I'm doing: I'll create a bulleted list, bold some text, add a numbered list. Then I'm typing along, and make a mistake, so I hit CTRL-Z, and all of the things I've just listed are gone - from the typo right on back through the bulleted list. When I look at the Edit Menu, the options are for the steps previous to the ones I've mentioned. From what I can tell, when I use CTRL-Z it is undoing everything up to when I last saved.
I am using XML tagging in this document - I'm not sure if this has anything to do with... anything?
    Thanks again!

  • Too many symbols require `small' PIC references

    Error Message:
ld: fatal: too many symbols require `small' PIC references:

    *** Error code 1
I am linking perhaps 100 object files to create a shared object. All objects are compiled in
    the following manor:
    /apps/SUNWspro/bin/CC -KPIC -z text -library=iostream -G -g -O
    -DRW_MULTI_THREAD -D_REENTRANT -mt -D_RWBUILDSHARED -DPS_MT
    -I/apps/persistence_3.55/include -I/apps/persistence_3.55/include/sys
    -I/apps/rogue_wave/include -c DBPS_mycode.cc
Oh yeah, I am trying to migrate my code to Solaris 7 from 2.5.1 and the code is dependent on this version of persistence (3.5.5). I don't get the error when linking fewer objects together. Creating several small shared objects in place of the one won't help either because I'll still need all the shared objects to execute my application.
Are there any compile options to increase the size that this error message is eluding to? Do I need a patch to fix this problem?

The problem was fixed when I removed the optimization option -O.

I Made a new icloud account bc forgot my username and email and now I can't access bc says I have too many accounts on phone please help!

If the messages says the maximum number of accounts have already been created, you will not be able to create a new one on that phone.  All you can do in that case is either reuse one of the accounts previously created or create your new account on a different iOS device or Mac, if you have one.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

  • I take a lot of people shots and have way too many out of focus pics.

I have way too many out of focus shots.  I usually use tv mode with the shutter set at least 250 with the anti shake on.  I know there is a balance of aperature, iso and they seem to be close enough for lighting but the out of focus drives me nuts. This is the most important aspect of a pic in my opinion. I have sent my T2i in for focus issues two times and cannot tell a difference.  Any suggestions????
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

We'd probably have to see your shots with EXIF data to provide a specific response.
Canon did a 3-part video on how the AF system works with B&H Photo.  You can find the videos on YouTube... here's the link to part I:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAx86nblZ2g
I seem to recall each part is about 30 minutes, but well worth the time in what you'll learn about the focus system that you might not have known.
A LOT of factors can result in out of focus images.  Camera movement (slow shutter speed during a hand-held shot) is just one of many possibilities.

  • Just upgraded and iPhoto said it has to upgrade library but keeps freezing. Have tried it too many times now and I need those photos ASAP  HELP!!

Just upgraded and iPhoto said it has to upgrade library but keeps freezing. Have tried it too many times now and I need those photos ASAP  HELP!!

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .
    Regards
