Too many redirects - Safari can't open page - Domainmonster to iWeb problem

I am trying to publish my website made with iWeb - I purchased a domain from Domainmonster.
onlineiwthme.net - and by looking around the web I think I have done the whole CNAME thing correctly.
When I go to my mobile me account summary it says - Personal Domain = www.onlinewithme.net
So I think it should be OK.
I clicked publish in iWeb and it seemed to work but when I try my domain I just get the following message: Safari can’t open the page.
Too many redirects occurred trying to open “http://www.onlinewithme.net/”. This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page.

OK I still could net get it sorted so I contacted Domainmonsters help desk and below is the nice clear answer to my problems.
I add it here in case anybody else has problems.
Ethiod, thank you very much for you help, regardless, much appreciated that you at least tried to help.
Thank you for contacting Domainmonster.com.
1. Log in to your Domainmonster.com account and choose to manage your domain by highlighting it on the right hand menu and clicking “Manage”.
2. Choose “Website Content” then click “Web Forwarding”.
3. Within Web Forwarding set-up non-framed web forwarding to point to www.onlinewithme.net – this will forward the root record (non www.) to the www. address – meaning that either http://onlinewithme.net or http://www.onlinewithme.net will go to the correct location.
4. Once saved, click on the “ > onlinewithme.net Control Panel” breadcrumb at the top of the page to take you back to your control panel.
5. Click on “Manage DNS”.
6. Within DNS settings delete the A Record for www. (check box to the right hand side and then click “save DNS Updates”)
a. Now add a CNAME Record with the following settings:
i. Alias: www
ii. Address: web.me.com
7. You will now have pointed your www. record to your web.me.com account.
8. You will need to ensure that your iWeb account is correctly set-up to expect your domain. You can do this by specifying a Personal Domain (www.onlinewithme.net). Apple have provided a tutorial here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1107

Hello, we have a Mac and an ipad, the Mac is working and wifi is on and the ipad's wifi is on too, but Ipad Safari can not open the page because it could not connect to the server, does any one know that?

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • I am getting Safari can not open page. Server stopped responding.  I have tried several things with no luck.  Anyone know what to try?

I am getting message Safari can not open page.  Server stopped responding.  I have tried several suggestions but they have not worked.

This is on an iPad, correct? Are you sure you have a network connection? Is your iPad Wifi or Wifi & 3G? I know these might seem like dumb questions, but we've got to narrow it down to get a solution. If you're absolutely positive you have an active network connection we can move on to other things.

  • Iphone 4 error message while in wifi "safari can not open page because server stopped responding" after iOS6 update

I am currently using my Iphone 4 in wifi networks only after canceling my cell phone plan. Over the weekend I did the IOS6 update on the iphone as well as updated my macbooks itunes and OS X operating systems updates that were available.  Since that my iphone's safara app won't connect.  After it trys to connect for a minute or 2 I recieve the message: "safari can not open page because server stopped responding".  However ALL other apps that require the phone to be connected to wifi for use work properly, i.e app store, imessage, pinger, facebook, etc.  I have checked all network setting and they looked right to me.  Anything I'm missing, ideas to try, or am I sol (lol)?  Safari worked perfectly before the update so I thought I might have done something wrong or forgot to change some type of setting.
    Thank you!

If you can access Facebook while on Wifi at home, but you are unable to access it while away running on your carrier's 2G network, I could phone your carrier.  You have already completed the Cellular Data troubleshooting for the iPhone, so any limitations keeping your from connecting to Facebook over cellular will have to be answered by your carrier.

  • Can't get to a specific spot on a website. Am being told I have used too many redirects?, Can't get to a specific spot on a website. Am being told I have used too many redirects?

I am trying to get to a specific spot on a website. I have signed on and can get to all other sections, but when I try to get to this one section I get a message back saying Safari cannot get to that page, too many redirects? Help?

Clear. Safari, close it and reset your iPad.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear Cookies and Data.
To close an app, drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the Safari app and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Too many redirects, I can't connect to website.

For some reason i can't connect to the xbox live website <xbox.com> because of too many redirects. However, it works fine on the Safari on my ipod touch 4. I have already tried emptying cache, clearing all my cookies, and resetting Safari; yet im still unable to connect. Anyone else experiencing the same problem or have a solution to this?

I've figured it out. I reseted all of Safari, then quit afterwards, and relaunched it again, and it worked. Hopefully this will help you guys too.

  • "Safari Can't Open Page" but the page opens in other browsers??

Hope someone can help with this strange issue. I get the message:
"Safari can't open the page https://secure-en-%0aadmc.premiumtv.co.uk/internalLogin/loginProcess/0,,13061,00 .html  because the page address is invalid"
However the same page opens in Chrome.
The page prior to this step is a log in page where I enter my username and password for that site, as soon as I hit enter the error message appears. It's as if it doesn't even try to open the page, the message appears that quickly.
I have enabled cookies, emptied the cache, re-started and searched the forums for similar issues. The fact that it opens on other browers is what's getting to me. I've only just moved over to Safari after being a long time Chrome user and ideally only want to use one browsers and not have to switch between the two.
I'm running the Safari 6.0 on Mountain Lion.
    Appreciate any help!

    http://www.en.bpl.admcsport.com/page/Home
This is the login page. When I enter my username and password I get the error message:
"Safari can't open the page https://secure-en-%0aadmc.premiumtv.co.uk/internalLogin/loginProcess/0,,13061,00 .html  because the page address is invalid"
When I do the same in Chrome, it lets me in with no error message. Once I'm successfully logged in (in Chrome) the web page address is: http://www.en.bpl.admcsport.com/page/Home/
The page the Safari is showing as an error message must be some intermediary page used to validate the login which Safari doesnt like for some reason.

  • Safari can not open page-but I can open manually

my default page is my yahoo page that used to open when I opened a new web page
It was working fine yesterday. I started safari and I get the can't open page message.
I can open it manually but not when I open a new window.
It was working fine and then all of a sudden it did this.
I reset safari and shut down my mac, rebooted, etc. Nothing
    Very very annoying.
    Thanks

Hi everyone, I also had the same problem with connecting to the internet at home, with a brand new iPad, but managed to sort it out today with the help of the Genius Bar staff. I figured it was a router/software issue because wifi/internet was working at my university and at the Apple store. As posted in other threads on this forum, your iPad was probably not assigned an IP address.
I am using an Airport Express 802.11n, and this is connected via ethernet to my modem from my internet provider in Switzerland. It seems the problem is with "Bridge Mode", and my modem won't give out an IP address to my iPad. To fix this, I used the "Share a Public IP address" mode instead of Bridge mode. In Airport Utility, I went to Manual Setup - Internet - Internet Connection tab - Connection Sharing - Share a public IP address.
Then in the DHCP tab, DHCP reservation, I added my iPad to this list. it will ask you for your iPad's MAC number, which you can find in your iPad Settings - General - About - Wifi Address. I did not bother adding my Macbook or iPhone and wifi is still working for them so I think this IP address reservation step might be optional.
For those not using Macs or Airport Utility, unfortunately I am not familiar with setting up routers in the browser, so I can't help you there, but hopefully you get the idea.
Internet now works, but I haven't tried it long enough to know whether I have issues with dropping wifi, but at least the IP address is obtained and I can surf.
    Hope this helps others!!!!!!

  • Safari can't open pages that Firefox can

If there is a break in connectivity when Safari is loading a page, it says it can't load the page. When connectivity is back on, Safari still can't load the page. Firefox can. I empty the cache and reset the cache, as well as shutting Safari down and restarting it, but none of that seems to work and the crap program still can't load the page.
Any clues as to how to get Safari to do what it is supposed to do?
Thanks in advance for the advice.

I've had this issue ever since owning my macbook with leopard (nov 2007) Safari will display:
    Safari can’t find the server.
Safari can’t open the page “http://whatever page you wanted” because it can’t find the server “watever website”.
This error is completely random and doesnt always effect the same site. I could be on paypal looking at my account then the next moment trying to click a link in paypal I get the cant find sever page. Now the entire paypal site will no longer pull up. I can still surf other pages just nothing that revolves around paypal.
And again its not paypal only. Just about any sites. There is no set number of sites that pulls this up. However, I can use Camino on the same site on the same computer and while Safari pulls up a can not find Camino pulls it up just fine.
Something is wrong with how Safari handles/translates websites. I have tried disabling IPv6 but it doesn nothing to it. Since I have had this error for a few months I have concluded it is an error with Safari as another browser on the same computer and network settings work just fine.
The only way to get the site to pull back up is to reboot the computer (Clearing cache or resetting safari does nothing to help)

  • Safari can't open page as server not responding

I have a 2 iPhone 5s n 1 iPad Air sharing the home router with a few other computers at home. The iPhone and ipad always have problem opening page using safari. Same thing for browsing video using YouTube app. It's just not responding. Other applications such as whatsapp facebook work fine though. Even chrome application works too. Just not safari and YouTube so far. I have tried resetting network setting, clear history and cookies. It didn't work. It should not be the router issue as other application works. Can anyone help me with this? It's very annoying.

Depending on the server software used for the downloads it may be using up all of your bandwidth leaving little for Safari.
Use the Safari Activity window to see how the page elements load while your download is occurring.
If you see "timed out" messages then you're going to have troubles.
