Too many SB Audigy Outputs to Cubase
Hi all, I've been using Cubasis 4.0 with my SB Audigy 2 Plat card without any problems. I've just upgraded to Cubase SE3 and found out that it will only handle 4 stereo inputs from the SB Audigy. The problem is that none of the first four inputs from the SB Audigy are the ones I need. Does anyone know how to restrict the available ports from the SB Audigy or perhaps resequence them so that Cubase SE3 finds the correct ones first?Any help would be greatly appreciated.................. Regards
Hi Jutapa,?I looked at the thread and created the project template you suggested. Unfortunately I still have the same problem. It is quite likely that I haven?t explained myself clearly. In Cubasis 4.0 the ?VST Inputs? panel shows all the available (virtual and physical) ports from the Audigy card. These are:?Analogue Mix L - Analogue Mix R
Mix L - Mix R
Mix FL - Mix FR
Mix RL - Mix RR
Mix FC - Mix LFE
Mix RC - Mix RC2
Mix SL ? Mix SR
SPDIF L - SPDIF R
Line-in 2/Mic 2 L - Line-in 2/Mic 2 R
Auxiliary 2 L ? Auxiliary 2 R
Mic in L ? Mic in R?In Cubase SE3 VST Connections (Inputs), the only port options I get are:?Analogue Mix L - Analogue Mix R
Mix L - Mix R
Mix FL - Mix FR
Mix RL - Mix RR
These are numbered as ports ? 8?The port options I need are:
SPDIF L - SPDIF R
Line-in 2/Mic 2 L - Line-in 2/Mic 2 R
Auxiliary 2 L ? Auxiliary 2 R
Mic in L ? Mic in R?Is there a way that I can get the ASIO driver or card to disable the unwanted ports (I don?t use the surround sound stuff) and only offer the physical ports to Cubase SE3? Alternately can the port numbers be edited so that the ports I want become - 8?Thanks?Regards

Flexible employee report - too many employees in output
Hi,
We are running on ECC 6. while running flexible employee report (t-code S_AHR_61016362 ) using the organizational structure button on selection screen too many employees are getting selected.
When I select a single org.unit and not the underlying ones, the employees from underlying org.units are also being displayed in the output.
I tried searching for an SAP note but invain. Appreciate your help.
Thanks for your time,
Kumar.Hi Kumar,
perhaps you could use S_AHR_61016533 instead. There you coudl change the
Evaluation Path to select the persons.

Sapscript: Output is continuous or contains too many pages (more than 3)
Hi,
I have developed Sapscript form for printing out material documents.
When users try to print out document with 68 positions, they receive error in MB90 -
" Output is continuous or contains too many pages (>3)".
Message no. TD405
If they try to print out small document, for example 3 positions, everything is ok.
What I have to check now?
Thanks,
Sveta.

Script error - Output is continuous or contain too many pages and get
Hi ,
I have added one more page (name affidvt ) to the existing script.
Previously
Cover page was calling next page as cover
first page was calling next page as next
next page as again next.
But after new addition of the page ( called as affidvt) it is now
Cover page was calling next page as cover
first page was calling next page as next
next page as affidvt.
When I test run this script it gives -
Output is continuous or contain too many pages and get
terminated.
Any solution ?Check the page assignments again. Looks like at least 2 pages are calling each other.

I am posting this in the '09 topic, but my question really dates back to Garageband '08. I rely on Garageband often, and I'm a big fan of it. However, it contains a serious problem which I need fixed.
I create a new project, drop a single iTunes song into it, and begin to edit. Almost every time, randomly while playing the song the "Part of the project was not played. This project has too many real instrument tracks to be played in real-time" warning message appears. I only have 1 track! Worse still, my audio driver lets out a terrible "HONK" which startles me and blasts through the entire house. After that, My sound output faintly exists until I open up Audio MIDI Setup and change a random setting on my output.
I am quite tired of this predicament. Is there anyway to fix this (without money)?I was experiencing a similar problem, and I just got off the phone with applecare and went through all their steps.
I'll try my best to recount them here. But before I do, let it be said that the tech fellow, once he heard what I was doing, exclaimed that my core problem was that I needed to be creating new projects, and not re-using the same project (ex. "My Song 2") over and over.
What I've been doing is backing up a pile of mini-discs that have live concerts on them. A couple of hours of audio each one, and I've been recording them into Garageband. After I divide the concert up into songs and export them to itunes, I've been deleting the track in Garageband and then importing the next concert (repeat x 10 concerts).
About 7-8 concerts in I started getting that popping sound when the sound would cut out (made the sound of depressing the safety-seal bubble on the metal lid of a jam jar). At first, quitting Garageband and opening it again would work. On the 10th concert, when the sound cut out the sound for the whole computer would stop working (itunes, volume buttons on my keyboard, everything).
So the tech fellow said the lesson is this: create new projects. Don't be shy about it. No need to re-use and recycle in cyberspace.
Now - my applecare steps:
- First we went: Macintosh HD, Library, then dragged "Caches" to the trash
- then went to Finder, Go, Utilities, Disk Utility, Macintosh HD, Repair Disk Permissions (that took some time)
- then restarted the computer
All seems to be well now.
Good luck -
TOO many OPEN CURSORS during loop of INSERT's
Running ODP.NET beta2 (can't move up yet but will do that soon)
I don't think it is related with ODP itself but probably on how .Net works with cursors. We have a for/next loop that executes INSERT INTO xxx VALUES (:a,:b,:c)
statements. Apparently, when monitoring v$sysstat (current open cursors) we see these raising with 1 INSERT = 1 cursor. If subsequently we try to perform another action, we get max cursors exceeded. We allready set open_cursor = 1000, but the number of inserts can be very high. Is there a way to release these cursors (already wrote oDataAdaptor.dispose, oCmd.dispose but this does not help.
Is it normal that each INSERT has it's own cursor ? they all have the same hashvalue in v$open_cursor. They seem to be released after a while, especially when moving to another asp.net page, but it's not clear when that happens and if it is possible to force the release of the (implicit?) cursors faster.
Below is a snippet of the code, I unrolled a couple of function-calls into the code so this is just an example, not sure it will run without errors like this, but the idea should be clear (the code looks rather complex for what it does but the unrolled functions make the code more generic and we have a database-independend datalayer):
Try
' Set the Base Delete statement
lBaseSql = _
"INSERT INTO atable(col1,col2,col3) " & _
"VALUES(:col1,:col2,:col3)"
' Initialize a transaction
lTransaction = oConnection.BeginTransaction()
' Create the parameter collection, containing for each
' row in the list the arguments
For Each lDataRow In aList.Rows
lOracleParamters = New OracleParameterCollection()
lOracleParameter = New OracleParameter("luserid", OracleDbType.Varchar2,
_ CType(aCol1, Object))
lOracleParamters.Add(lOracleParameter)
lOracleParameter = New OracleParameter("part_no", OracleDbType.Varchar2, _
CType(lDataRow.Item("col2"), Object))
lOracleParamters.Add(lOracleParameter)
lOracleParameter = New OracleParameter("revision", OracleDbType.Int32, _
CType(lDataRow.Item("col3"), Object))
lOracleParamters.Add(lOracleParameter)
' Execute the Statement;
' If the execution fails because the row already exists,
' then the insert should be considered as succesfull.
Try
Dim aCommand As New OracleCommand()
Dim retval As Integer
'associate the aConnection with the aCommand
aCommand.Connection = oConnection
'set the aCommand text (stored procedure name or SQL statement)
aCommand.CommandText = lBaseSQL
'set the aCommand type
aCommand.CommandType = CommandType.Text
'attach the aCommand parameters if they are provided
If Not (lOracleParameters Is Nothing) Then
Dim lParameter As OracleParameter
For Each lParameter In lOracleParameters
'check for derived output value with no value assigned
If lParameter.Direction = ParameterDirection.InputOutput _
And lParameter.Value Is Nothing Then
lParameter.Value = Nothing
End If
aCommand.Parameters.Add(lParameter)
Next lParameter
End If
Return
' finally, execute the aCommand.
retval = cmd.ExecuteNonQuery()
' detach the OracleParameters from the aCommand object,
' so they can be used again
cmd.Parameters.Clear()

Dim lErrorMsg As String
lErrorMsg = ex.ToString
If Not lTransaction Is Nothing Then
lTransaction.Rollback()
End If
End Try
Next
lTransaction.Commit()
Catch ex As Exception
lTransaction.Rollback()
Throw New DLDataException(aConnection, ex)
End TryI have run into this problem as well. To my mind
Phillip's solution will work but seems completey unnecessary. This is work the provider itself should be managing.
I've done extensive testing with both ODP and OracleClient. Here is one of the scenarios: In a tight loop of 10,000 records, each of which is either going to be inserted or updated via a stored procedure call, the ODP provider throws the "too many cursor errors at around the 800th iteration. With over 300 cursors being open. The exact same code with OracleClient as the provider never throws an error and opens up 40+ cursors during execution.
The applicaation I have updates a Oracle8i database from a DB2 database. There are over 30 tables being updated in near real time. Reusing the command object is not an option and adding all the code Phillip did for each call seems highly unnecessary. I say Oracle needs to fix this problem. As much as I hate to say it the microsoft provider seems superior at this point. -
Function error: Too many records
I have writing a function that needs to return the total count of a sql statement. It will divide two calculated columns to get an average. I have two versions. Version 1 compiled successfully and I am trying to either run it in Reports or in the database and call it. I get an error stating that the function returns too many records. I understand that is a rule for stored functions but how can I modify the code to get it return one value for each time it is called?
Here is the main calculation. SUM(date1-date2) / (date1-date2) = Avg of Days
version1:
create or replace FUNCTION CALC_OVER_AGE
RETURN NUMBER IS
days_between NUMBER;
days_over NUMBER;
begin
select (determination_dt - Filed_dt), SUM(determination_dt - Filed_dt) into days_between, days_over
from w_all_cases_mv
where (determination_dt - Filed_dt) > 60
and ;
return (days_between/days_over);
END CALC_OVER_AGE;
version2:
CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION CALC_OVER_AGE (pCaseType VARCHAR2)
RETURN PLS_INTEGER IS
v_days_between W_ALL_CASES_MV.DAYS_BETWEEN%TYPE;
v_total NUMBER;
days_over NUMBER;
i PLS_INTEGER;
BEGIN
SELECT COUNT(*)
INTO i
FROM tab
WHERE case_type_cd = pCaseType
AND determination_dt - Filed_dt > 60;
IF i <> 0 THEN
select SUM(determination_dt-Filed_dt), days_between
into v_total, v_days_between
from tab
where determination_dt - Filed_dt > 60;
RETURN v_total/v_days_between;
ELSE
RETURN 0;
END IF;
EXCEPTION
WHEN OTHERS THEN
RETURN 0;
END CALC_OVER_AGE;Table Structure:
WB_CASE_NR NUMBER(10)
RESPONDENT_TYPE_CD VARCHAR2(10)
INV_LOCAL_CASE_NR VARCHAR2(14)
CASE_TYPE_CD VARCHAR2(10)
FILED_DT DATE
FINAL_DTRMNTN_DT DATE
REPORTING_NR VARCHAR2(7)
INVESTIGATOR_NAME VARCHAR2(22)
OSHA_CD VARCHAR2(5)
FEDERAL_STATE VARCHAR2(1)
RESPONDENT_NM VARCHAR2(100)
DAYS_BETWEEN NUMBER
LAST_NM VARCHAR2(20)
FIRST_NM VARCHAR2(20)
DETERMINATION_DT DATE
DETERMINATION_TYPE_CD VARCHAR2(2)
FINAL_IND_CD VARCHAR2(1)
DESCRIPTION VARCHAR2(400)
DETERMINATION_ID NUMBER(10)
ALLEGATION_CD VARCHAR2(1)
ALGDESCRIPTION VARCHAR2(50)
Output is for Reports, I am trying to get the last calculation, which is the Average Days. The reports is grouped on Case Types and has several bucket counts for each like this.
Case Type Count All Completed Pending Over Age Avg Days
A 5 3 4 2 15
Z 10 7 6 3 30
4 8 3 5 4 22
To get the Avg Days, the Over Age calculation is used as well as the Days Between (Determination_Dt - Filed_Dt). That is the (date1-date2) example that I gave in my first post. So the calcuation would be the SUM(Days_Between) / Days_Between. -
Result set does not fit; it contains too many rows
Dear All,
We are in BI7 and running reports on Excel 2007. Even though number of rows limitation in Excel 2007 is more than 1Million, when I try to execute a report with more than 65k records of output, system is generating output only for 65k rows with message "Result set does not fit; it contains too many rows".
Our Patch levels:
GUI - 7.10
Patch level is 11
Is there any way to generate more than 65000 rows in Bex?
Thanks in advance...

Raju
Dear Gurus,
Could you please shed some light on this issue?
thanks and regards,

This has been discussed on the forums - for reasons of backward compatibility I do not think BEx supports more that 65000 rows .... I am still not sure about the same since I have not tried out a query with more that 65K rows on excel 2007 but I think this is not possible... -
Runtime.exec - Too Many Open Files
System version : Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2.4.21-47.ELsmp AS release 3 (Taroon Update 8)
JRE version : 1.6.0-b105
Important : the commands described below are launched from a Web application : Apache Tomcat 6.0.10
Hello,
I'm facing a problem already known, but appearantly never really solved ??!! ;)
When I invoke many system commands with the 'Runtime.exec(...)' method, there are open files that are not released (I can see them with the "lsof" system command) .
At the end, the unavoidable "too many open files" Exception.
The lauched commands are "ssh ... " commands.
In the topics relating to this problem, the solution is always to close all Streams / threads and to explicitely invoke the method "Process.destroy()".
My problem is that this is what I do ! And I can't do more...
Here is the code :
Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
Process process = rt.exec("ssh ...");
// ProcessStreamHolder extends Thread and reads from the InputStream given in constructor...
ProcessStreamHolder errorStream = new ProcessStreamHolder(process.getErrorStream());
ProcessStreamHolder outputStream = new ProcessStreamHolder(process.getInputStream());
errorStream.start();
outputStream.start();
exitValue = process.waitFor();
try {
errorStream.interrupt();
} catch (RuntimeException e) {
logger.warn("...");
try {
outputStream.interrupt();
} catch (RuntimeException e) {
logger.warn("...");
try {
process.getInputStream().close();
} catch (RuntimeException e) {
logger.warn("...");
try {
process.getOutputStream().close();
} catch (RuntimeException e) {
logger.warn("...");
try {
process.getErrorStream().close();
} catch (RuntimeException e) {
logger.warn("...");
process.destroy();Does someone know if my code is wrong or if there's a workaround for me ?
Thanks by advance !
Richard.Don't interrupt those threads. Close the output stream first, then wait for the process to exit, then both threads reading the stdout and stderr of the process should get EOFs, so they should exit naturally, and incidentally close the streams themselves.

"Too many open files" Exception on "tapestry-framework-4.1.1.jar"
When a browser attempts accessing to my webwork, the server opens a certain number of file descriptors to "tapestry-framework-4.1.1.jar" file and don't release them for a while.
Below is the output from "lsof | grep tapestry":

These unknown references are sometimes released automatically, but sometimes not.
And I get "Too many open files" exception after using my application for a few hours.
The number of the unknown references increases as I access to my webwork or just hit on "F5" key on my browser to reload it.
I tried different types of browsers to see if I could see any differences in consequence, and in fact it differed by the browser I used.
When viewed by Internet Explorer it increased by 3 for every access.
On the other hand it increased by 7 for each attempt when accessed by FireFox.
I have already tried optimizing the max number of file discriptors, and it solved the "Too many open files" exception.
But stil I'm wondering who actually is opening "tapestry-framework-4.1.1.jar" this many.
Could anyone figure out what is going on?
Thanks in advance.

Cause might The server got an exception while trying to accept client connections. It will try to backoff to aid recovery.
The OS limit for the number of open file descriptor (FD limit) needs to be increased. Tune OS parameters that might help the server to accept more client connections (e.g. TCP accept back log).

Too many Parameters in the Selection Screen
Hi all,
I have a requirement to include too many parameters in the selection screen. Let me explain the scenario.

SQL query runs too many times in SQL server Profiler
Hi Experts
I have designed a report using SQL database.Report is based on Add Command Object, View and Table.Which are link and gives desired output.
However it takes long time. In the SQL Sever profiler it shows that query is executing too many times.
When in the Add Command object I edit the query Say I write TOP 5000 then it executes once however if I write Add 5001 then I face the same behavior.
I have checked "Grouping on server" option in options.
Please Advice.
Regards
Asha.Thanks Raghavendra for reply
How adding group will help? I have to link this command objects with view and table.Also When I add "TOP 5000" in add command query it executes only 1 time in SQL query Profiler hower if edit that query to "TOP 5001" then it again it executes several time which is impacting the performance.
Please advice?

Running Out Of FIle Descriptors "Too many open files"
We have a 32 application(running on Solaris 8) that opens socket connections and also some files in read/write mode. The application works fine in normal(under low load) case.
But it is failing under stress environment. At some point under stress environment, when it tries opening a file, it(fopen) gives me error code 24 that means that "too many files opened".
From this it seems that the application is running out of file descriptors. I used the truss, pfiles and lsof utilities to see how many descriptors are currently opened by my application and the number it gives is around 900(and this is the expected figure to be opened by my application).
I also set the ulimit(both hard and soft) to a larger number but it also didn't work. Also when i set the soft limit to 70000, the truss output shows like:
25412/1: 5.3264 sysconfig(_CONFIG_OPEN_FILES) = 70000
23123/1: 7.2926 close(69999) Err#9 EBADF
23123/1: 7.2927 close(69998) Err#9 EBADF
23123/1: 7.2928 close(69997) Err#9 EBADF
23123/1: 7.2928 close(69996) Err#9 EBADF
23123/1: 7.2929 close(69995) Err#9 EBADF
23123/1: 7.2929 close(69994) Err#9 EBADF
23123/1: 7.2930 close(69993) Err#9 EBADF
This goes to close(3).. loops almost 70K times.
Don't know why such output is.
Note: under moderate stress environment where only 400 file descriptors are opened, the application works fine.
can you please help me in this? Is this the file descriptor problem or can be other potential source of problem.
Is this any other way to increase the file descriptor limit.
I aldo trying using LD_PRELOAD_32=/usr/lib/extendedFILE.so.1 but it gave me following error while starting application:
"ld.so.1: ls: fatal: /usr/lib/extendedFILE.so.1: open failed: No such file or direcroty"
Also i cant use purify(because of some reasons) to find file descriptors leakage(if any) and is not possible to upgrade the system to Solaris 10.
Thanks in advance.http://developers.sun.com/solaris/articles/stdio_256.html

Portal creates too many database sessions. fix doesn't work!!
Oracle Database 9i, Application Server 9iAS,
Operating System SUSE Linux 7.2
CPU - Athlon 1400
Ram - 1GB
There is a modification for the http server that aims to eliminate a problem on unix that causes the database to create too many sessions. The script can be found at
http://portalstudio.oracle.com/servlet/page?_pageid=1787&_dad=ops&_schema=OPSTUDIO
However the script fails to work. The http server is on port 80 with the redirect on port 7778. However going to http://myhost/pls/ results in a server error - connection refused. Is it possible that there may be an error in the script.
Thanks in anticipationok so my sound is ok now I can check that off of the list... I just looked around and found some external USB speakers that work just right. My built in computer speakers are just not the best quality.
As for the microphone, I still haven't been able to find out what is causing it to not work. I notice that it isn't actually broken since if I make a really loud noise right next to the input it will register a little but only a little bit.

here is some additional information about my sound. Also, when I open alsamixer, I find that when I go to "select sound card"(F6) I see default and HDA Intel. If the default is pulseaudio, then is it possible that pulseaudio is causing the problem?
