Too much tapping to change tracks?

Now someone please correct me if im wrong. When you pick a song on the new nano, the album cover comes up? You have to then tap the screen again to bring up the next track icon, and tap that change the track?
So if you wanted to move forward 1 track, it requires 2 taps. To move forward 2 tracks its 4 taps, and so on. Does this not seem a bit much to anyone else?

I've got to hand it to you, you are one gutsy runner if you are out there running with an iPad! ("...eventually get a new iPad,..."). I'd suggest trying a Shuffle instead, between my brother-in-law and I have many miles between us with various Shuffle generations.
Before I ran with the new Nano I saw that the dock connector was going to be a problem and would allow sweat to get inside and damage the Nano. I found one of the plastic dock plugs I had for my Classic and put it in before using it for exercise since it is pretty obvious that sweat will kill an electronic device. I also clip it with the volume/sleep buttons down and in a place I tend not to drip.
So I didn't have to do your 7 steps.

Too much time downloading a track

hi everybody!
i'm having problems downloading a track from italian i tunes music store.
i bought an album on itunes music store more than 1 hour ago and it's still tansferring track number 6 out of 16.
don't you think it quite unusual?
what can i do? can anybody help me?

Download time will sometimes vary depending on the track length -- the longer the track, the larger the file, so the longer it takes to download.
Sometimes what I've done if a download appears to get stuck is click the little "x" on the right side of the display window (that shows the download progress); that stops the download. I then go up to the Advanced->Check for Purchases... option, and that starts the download over again; that seems to work most of the time.
Patience is the key -- also, I try not to download too much at one time (usually only about 100 tracks or so :P ).

Numbers 3.2 has changed too much, it doesn't work with my project anymore. How do I revert back to the previous version I was using?

Numbers 3.2 has changed too much, it doesn't work with my project anymore. 1) The sheet panels used to be on the left hand side and easily reviewable and searchable, but now they are on the top and it's harder to find a specific folder without scrolling (too time consuming), 2) I used to be able to duplicate a folder within my sheet panel window by simply clicking on a folder and hitting Command D, but that doesn't work now so it looks like I'll have to spend even more time to recreate the same tables that used to be easily duplicated, and 3) I can't choose fill colors that matched my project anymore because there are only limited choices available now. And these are only the changes that I'm aware of. I am very disappointed and frustrated. Whatever the motivation was to limit Numbers 3.2, I want the previous version back. How do I revert back to the previous version I was using?

You can scroll more quickly between sheets if you don't use the left-right triangles, but instead move the cursor up into the bands with the "tabs" and drag right or left.
Also, if you have a lot if sheets for which you want a quick vertical list, then you can try the following have something like this pop up (showing your sheet names automatically) whenever you hit a keyboard shortcut (in my case shift-command-j):

A page zooms in so less than 1/4 of the page is visible and nothing I do will zoom back out, command minus doesn't do it, double tap on mouse does not zoom out, and the window will not scroll to show any of the rest of the page. reloading the page does not help. Loading a different page gives me a normal view again.

If it were a tweaked setting, it should happen less randomly. And there should be no settings that could override the zoom setting in unversal Access and the Mouse zoom preferences.
In addition, this only happens in Safari 6, and seems to happen more fredquently on some websites and not on others. That suggests some sort of conflict in the site code with Safari and Apple wireless mouse code. It does not happen in Mail, Word, Excel, Photoshop, Illustrator, or other software as far as I can tell.

It's not entirely impossible actually as someone has pointed out to me that I can turn on Call Forwarding and that stops any incoming calls. I've just forwarded it to my google voice number and then turned on "do not disturb" in google voice and whenever I get a call it goes straight to my google voice voicemail and my phone does nothing. The only thing now is I still get text messages but I think the phone calls bugged me more because they would make my music turn off for much longer.
Even though this isn't a perfect solution it's something so far so maybe you shouldn't just come out and say there's NOTHING I can do because so far I've found part of a solution. If you don't have anyting productive to say then just don't reply and close the tab. Thanks.

I am considering buying a new MAC laptop to run LOGIC for composition and band live/recording, but which one is best as I do not want to spend too much money? Does it have a line in and how do you monitor sound? Will I need adaptors and a interface?

RMAN Cumulative and differential level 1taking too much time

I am attempting to HOT backup my 600 GB database to backup into Tape using NMO 5 EMC Networker 7.6.
My networker server is on Win Serv 2003.
My oracle database is on RHEL 4.5 Architecture ia64
Oracle DB Version 10.2.0.4.0
Using ASM
Using EMC Storage as Databse storage
Using tape backup media type LTO-Ultrium-5
No of chaneels used same for bothLevel 0 & 1 is 4
there are 60 Datafiles fior the database
i am atttempting incremental backup[Hot] backup
for Incrementa Level 0 is taking 90 Minutes to complete.
BUT leve1 backup [Both differential and cumulative] are taking almost the same time as taken for Level 0 backup
almost 80Mins.
but the backup Set size for Level 0 is almost 500 GB and Sizes for any Level 1 backup not more than 200MB.
i am confused if both LEVEL 0 AND LEVEL 1 BACKUP should take the same span of time.
please help to reduce the time to complete the Level 1 backups..

RMAN incremental level 1 and up will have to verify every block in the data files to identify if any modifications have occurred. The time it takes to complete the incremental backup will depend on how much changed. Are you using the latest patches? There are known bugs that can affect performance problems with RMAN backup and recovery. Otherwise, check the Oracle documentation to troubleshoot RMAN.
Block change tracking as already mantioned, introduced in 10g, can greatly speed up your incremental level 1 and up backups.
From what I understand:
SQL> ALTER DATABASE ENABLE BLOCK CHANGE TRACKING USING FILE '/mydir/rman_change_track.f';
As soon as block change tracking is enabled, Oracle starts to record every block that updates. The information is stored in a bitmap inside the BCT file. Every incremental backup causes a bitmap swtich in the BCT file.
If there exists a previous bitmap beside the current bitmap, then an incremental level 1 backup will only backup the blocks according to the current bitmap. Incremental level 1 backups are differential backups by default. If there is no previous bitmap, the RMAN backup will perform a conventional scan of the database as usual.
The bitmap logic applies also to cumulative level 1 incremental backups, which will use all the bitmaps recorded since the last bitmap switch from a level 0 incremental backup. Due to the limit of 8 bitmaps, a cumulative incremental level 1 backup will have to perform a conventional scan of the database, if you make a level 0 database backup followed by 7 differential incremental backups.

Updating the ipod with itunes takes too much time

i have like 3000 songs in my itunes library ,but when i change some track's names o change anything of my songs in a diferent way like putting their names in capital letters or changing their artworks..etc ,itunes takes too much time updating the changes to my ipod................. why?

Generally the iPod update is pretty quick unless you are making many hundreds of changes at a time. It could be the USB port is slow, try it in another port, preferably on the back of the PC, some computers have underpowered ports on the front panel. Also the recommended system requirements are for USB 2, it will work from a USB 1 port but much slower if that's the type of port you have.

You can create playlists on your computer's iTunes via File > New Playlist or File > New Smart Playlist . Smart playlists can be updated automatically by iTunes e.g. you can create smart playlists that contain a particular music genre and they will be updated automatically if you add music of that genre to iTunes, or you might have a smart playlist of 5* rated tracks etc
When you the sync music to the iPad, then on the device's Music tab you can select which playlist(s) to sync to the iPad

Unable to change tracks on my stereo after upgrading to iOS 6

After upgrading to iOS 6 yesterday I've noticed a problem playing my music through Bluetooth on my Alpine car stereo. It still plays but I am unable to change tracks with the stereo, I have to manually do it on my iPhone. This is a problem, any ideas?

I spoke to a rep at Alpine today. They are aware that there are major issues with the release of iOS 6 and ALL their products. The said they will have to do a firmware update and he had no idea when that would be available.
Not good as I bought a new unit yesterday ! It workd great driving home and this morning no iPhone interface would function properly. I updated my OS last night. And I cannot go back to OS 5 I am told by Apple people.
I love Apple products but I must say I do not like their "we know best" attitude when it comes to deciding what OS I should run on my iPhone. I would much rather have OS 5 and let my iPhone work with my stereo.
Hopefully this firmware update will not take too long but I know there is no way it will be right away. The Alpine rep said his phone started ringing off the hook at 8 am from Alpine techs all over the country !
So clearly this was news to them.
