Try connecting it to your computer and restoring it by going to the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and clicking on Restore (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414). I am not sure what you ask is possible.
There is a default smart search for 'Most Visited' but I would think if you delete your 'History' you will not have History entries showing up in the location bar.
You can keep your History but prevent it displaying in the dropdown list of the location bar, but that is the opposite of what you are asking about.

Firefox keeps timing out after 10 seconds. this is too short for big sites, how can I change this?

I regularly use a very busy download site and find that Firefox closes me out of any part of the site, not just the current tab, when it times out after a max.10 seconds - seems less! I want to be able to allow the page to continue loading until it opens - because it will, just not in 10 seconds during busy times.

IWeb loads slowly. How can I make it load faster?

See QuicktimeKirk's post about Poster Movies in this thread: Movies on iWeb. The movie file size is probably the prime contributor to the slowness of loading. Some other tips I've learned in the forum are:
1 - do not use and frames or borders, etc. around photos.
2 - don't use any reflections.
3 - create your own navigation bar with linked text* and turn of the iWeb Navigation bar. The nav bar is all png based.
4 - use only the web safe fonts from the Font pane.
5 - do not use drop shadow on fonts.
6 - turn off smart quotes.
7 - don't let text boxes overlap with other objects or put graphic files in a text box with the text.
The above will reduce the number and size of files associated with a web page quite a bit. Photos with fancy frames and reflections can generate a thumbnail png of around 110KB whereas the plain version will be a jpg of only 28KB. Although it doesn't sound like a lot, it can speed up loading of the page and be more darkside (i.e. PC) friendly. But it takes away some of the fancy stuff that iWeb can do.
Run a test with a test site and publish to a folder. Then follow the hints above and publish to another folder and compare folders.
*Put your linked text directly under the Navigation bar. Then turn off the nav bar in the Inspector window. The nav bar will disappear and the linked text will move up to the top of the page.

My boomarks are too FAT in FF 4 - how can I make them skinny again as in FF3.6?

My bookmarks used to be the width of the letters used to make them, so I abbreviated many of them to 2 or 3 digits to see a lot at once.
Now bookmarks appear to have a minimum space that's way too wide for me unless they have a favicon or a folder before them.
How do I shrink the ordinary bookmarks that may be "*AV" or "ABC"? There seems to be a lead space that is the width of a tab.
This is a deal breaker for me. I would switch back to 3.6 because of this.

Encore is taking too long to transcode. How can I make this faster?

The project is roughly an hour long. 1 menu. the video is mp4. I used encore the other day and it didnt take this long. I left my computer on all night and it barely moved.

John and Stan's replies are correct and I'd like to expand on that. Where did you get the .mp4 file? From a camera, or did you export an .mp4 from Premiere for use in Encore? Best to avoid intermediate codecs if the latter, to save both time and quality.
The best workflow is to complete the edit in Premiere, and then use File > Export and choose "MPEG-2 DVD" and an appropriate preset as well, such as "NTSC DV Widescreen" or whatever best suits your needs. You'd also want to set the correct bit rate for the length of the program. A longer program requires a lower bit rate to fit the content on the DVD.
Search online for "bitrate calculator" for available tools, or rough rule of thumb is 560/minutes = bitrate. Round down a little for safety margin, but for shorter programs, don't exceed 7.0 or 8.0 for the video bit rate.
This export will provide TWO files, .m2v for video and .wav audio. Import BOTH into Encore. The audio will transcode automatically to Dolby AC3 and the video should NOT need transcoding.
EDIT: just saw your response about making an .avi, and yes that can work, but again you are encoding twice rather than just once. Make the "MPEG-2 DVD" file once and be done.

How can I make Azure blob give me "206 Partial content" for mp4. Getting 200

I want a video for my web-site, so I am using html+JavaScript found on view-source:https://www.airbnb.com/

The point is - if I copy html+JavaScript on my web-site, I can get "206 Partial content" from airbnb.com, i.e. the video hosted on airbnb.com starts streaming immediately.
The same thing happens if I upload the same video to my domain hosted on arvixe.com and S3 Amazon
The only provider that doesn't give me 206, but responds with 200 instead is Azure blob
This is unacceptable, because the user has to wait until all the video is loaded.
So how can I make Azure blob give me "206 Partial content". I am hosting web-site on Azure also.
I am using airbnb.com video in all three cases to exclude possible errors related to codek etc.

Azure Blob storage supports return 206 response if you're using API version 2011-01-18 or later .
However if
don't originate the request which means you can't specify this using the request header , you can set the API version globally
for blob service within a storage account by using " Set
Blob Service Properties" API ,

1. Without a flash ciommunication server for TRUE streaming
of the file, what you get is called Progressive streaming. This
means once the video begins to download it can start playing before
the file has completely downloaded to the user. There are good

2. If you have the file set to start automatically there will
be no need for the user to push the play button. You could just put
a graphic on top of the video component, and use actionscript to
make the graphic invisible when the play button is pushed.

Time Capsule will not load certain sites

When I've selected my Time Capsule as my network, internet browsers run slow and certain sites will not load at all. In particular, Yahoo will not load, so I have trouble accessing my email. It works fine when I switch the network to the wireless router supplied by my ISP. I'd rather default to the Time Capsule to use the backup function automatically. Does the Time Capsule have the ability to block sites? If so, how do I clear them out?

Ok.. you missed the point.. sorry if I used jargonese.
Factory reset the TC and start over.
The Factory Reset universal
Unplug your TC/AE. Hold in reset. and power the TC/AE back on.. all without releasing reset and keep holding in for about 10sec. The time is not important.. it is the front LED rapid flashing that indicates you are in factory mode.
Release reset.
If it doesn’t flash rapidly you have released reset at some point and try again.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel.. add no more pressure after that.
TC/AE will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.
Give the TC a simple name.. eg TCgen5 (or whatever Generation it is).
Give the wireless a simple name.. eg TCwifi when you do the setup with the airport utility.
DO NOT USE APPLE NAMES recommended by the utility. They are WRONG.
For PC they need windows compatible names. You are not giving them windows compatible names with

What modem are you using?? Make and model please.
If the TC has a double NAT issue it will say so.. ie in the airport utility you will an error.. double NAT. Please if you have a double NAT error do not ignore it.. fix it. ie the TC should be in bridge not router mode.

For disk repairs use Disk Utility. For situations DU cannot handle the best third-party utilities are: Disk Warrior; DW only fixes problems with the disk directory, but most disk problems are caused by directory corruption; Disk Warrior 4.x is now Intel Mac compatible. Drive Genius provides additional tools not found in Disk Warrior. Versions 1.5.1 and later are Intel Mac compatible.
OS X performs certain maintenance functions that are scheduled to occur on a daily, weekly, or monthly period. The maintenance scripts run in the early AM only if the computer is turned on 24/7 (no sleep.) If this isn't the case, then an excellent solution is to download and install a shareware utility such as Macaroni, JAW PseudoAnacron, or Anacron that will automate the maintenance activity regardless of whether the computer is turned off or asleep. Dependence upon third-party utilities to run the periodic maintenance scripts was significantly reduced since Tiger. These utilities have limited or no functionality with Snow Leopard or Lion and should not be installed.
OS X automatically defragments files less than 20 MBs in size, so unless you have a disk full of very large files there's little need for defragmenting the hard drive. As for virus protection there are few if any such animals affecting OS X. You can protect the computer easily using the freeware Open Source virus protection software ClamXAV. Personally I would avoid most commercial anti-virus software because of their potential for causing problems. For more about malware see Macintosh Virus Guide.
I would also recommend downloading a utility such as TinkerTool System, OnyX 2.4.3, or Cocktail 5.1.1 that you can use for periodic maintenance such as removing old log files and archives, clearing caches, etc.
For emergency repairs install the freeware utility Applejack. If you cannot start up in OS X, you may be able to start in single-user mode from which you can run Applejack to do a whole set of repair and maintenance routines from the command line. Note that AppleJack 1.5 is required for Leopard. AppleJack 1.6 is compatible with Snow Leopard. There is no confirmation that this version also works with Lion.
When you install any new system software or updates be sure to repair the hard drive and permissions beforehand. I also recommend booting into safe mode before doing system software updates.
Get an external Firewire drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):

Tri-Backup
