Took my phone to a 3rd party repair service for low battery issues.  He says my board is bad.  Offered to buy my phone for parts.  Am I being ripped off?

My phone worked only while it was on a charger.  I took it in to have the battery replaced.  Afterward, my phone wouldn't work at all.  He says my board is bad and offers me my $60 back that I paid for battery replacement and he keeps my phone for replacement parts.  I think I'm getting scammed.  What do you think?

Thanks for all of the replies.  I wanted to post an update as a courtesy.  This store has had my phone for 5 days.  Yesterday, after testing, he said my board is defective.  He wanted to put it in a diferent case, but he didn't have time, so I gave him another day.  Went in the next day, still not done, but offered me my $60 back, but he was going to keep my phone for extra parts.  I said no, I wanted to keep it. So I went in the next day to pick it up.  Again, it wasn't ready.  I told him I'll come back later to pick it up, he said OK.  I went in again today, it still wasn't ready.  I said I want my phone NOW, so he conceded and looked at my phone, said "hmmm...it appears to be working.  Maybe it was the port."  I just took my phone and got the **** out of there.  I've been using it for the past 3 hours and it hasn't shut down on me and the battery is still full.  All I gotta say is, don't go to anyone but the original maker.  Lesson learned.  Thanks for bearing with me.

  • Need to restart OAS server to find a 3rd party Web Service

    Hi everyone,
I have the following problem. I am using Oracle Application Server 10g (version 10.1.2.0.2).
I have deployed a J2EE web service to this App Server and from within this service I call a 3rd party Web Service (.NET) to a remote system. It works fine.
However when the remote server for some reason restarts my web service noway can find the remote web service. I get a connection timeout exception to my logs.
With a standalone client that I have to the same machine where the Oracle Application Server is installed I can call directly the 3rd party web service with no problems at any time so I am sure that there is no connection problem.
If I restart the Oracle Application server then the J2EE web service finds the remote web service again.
This means that whenever the remote server falls and recovers I will need to restart my Oracle Application Server as well, to let my web service find the remote web service. Crazy isn't it?
    Does anyone knows what happens??
    Thanks

All depends on the service. You can not just access a service. You need things like if the data is JSONP or if they have instructions or keys etc. You need to just follow the instructions the service will offer on how to connect to it.

  • Consuming 3rd party web service in Java web dynpro application

    Hi All,
I am working on a scenario where external(3rd party) web service has to be consumed in WD Java application. I am provided with WSDL file. Let me explain how I usually consume other webservices:
         Create model->AWS model->Remote Location/file System->provide url->create/choose service group->finish
Then I would generate the code in custom controller by applying template
I assign provider system as local for the service group in nwa.
This is normal process to me. I am struck with this 3rd party web service. Please share your ideas on the same. Any help is highly appreciated.
    BR,
    Manoj

I ve created a provider system pointing to where 3rd party WS resides. i am trying to connect through WSIL. While pinging that provider system, I don't see that particular WS(that I am gonna consume). And while assigning this Provider system to service group, processing state getting 'Failed'.
    What could be reason?

  • 3rd Party Web Service Integration

I am a complete beginner with SAP Process Integration.  I could do with a simple 'To Do' List on what I should do and in what order to do it so that I can 'talk' to external 3rd party web service. In a nutshell, I will be using 3rd party web service to create document for eventual printing, so I will need to populate XML with various database fields. I have been provided with the WSDL files for the web service.
Appreciate any help, o matter how small.

  • Better to Repair LCD at Toshiba or 3rd Party Repair Center?

I have a toshiba satellite u3050-s5097. When I turn it on, the screen is very dim, pretty much black unless if I shine a light at it and I can barely see my desktop. Well I had it inspected by a 3rd party laptop repair center and they said the light is out and the LCD is not working so they have to replace entire LCD... for parts and labor it will total $633.53 so I am looking to see if it will cost less to have my LCD fixed by Toshiba (I'm not sure what the process and cost for them to maybe... order from Toshiba, s/h and etc) or would this be the average cost for this type of repair?
Any advice would greatly be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Linda

THANK YOU very much for your advice and time.
    yes it is a U305.
I just called toshiba repair center and they will fix and replace the lcd panel for a flat rate of $425...
anybody who has experience, story or advice, I'd greatly appreciate it!
I'm on a budget like many of us, that is why I'm trying to save my laptop...
But in case anybody who would like to suggest some afforadable laptop that is better than my satellite U305-s5097, I would greatly appreciate it! I'm trying to learn more about computer specs and find out which ones are better for the work I do as well... I'm looking for a laptop that will work well around multi media work... film editing, music, gaming... or if you have a good link to help me learn more about computers/laptops so I could better understand what to look for in performance of the perfect laptop for me, that would be great as well!
    Thank you,
    Linda.

  • SPA IP Phone - * (Star Key) not working using 3rd party conference service

Hi - I have an SPA 504G  with SIP service and use a third party conference service to host conference call.  The 3rd party service requires me to log in as the Leader and to do this I have to press the * key.  This doesn't work possibly becuse * has been configured as a short action code.
Does anyone know of a way to disable short codes (*) whilst a call is in progress?
    Thanks

This doesn't work possibly becuse * has been configured as a short action code.
Then deconfiguration of such action codes and/or relevant supplemental services should solve your problem.

  • How 7921 interface with 3rd party; guest service contact center?

I want to use 7921 for staff in hotel to get sms from "guest service contact center", how to do the interface?

You can write an application to push text to 7921, using CiscoIPPhoneExecute and CiscoIPPhoneText object. Check out Cisco's SDK for more information about using these objects.
There are 3rd party products, like PhoneTop Messenger, which allow you to push text/audio to Cisco IP phones.

  • HRFORMS and Downloading for a 3rd Party Print Service.

    Hi there
I was wondering if someone could help.
We are currently testing our printing of the NEW HRFORM for GB.  This has been created in "FORM BUILDER" format
We print the forms in the back ground and this creates a spool, but the spool contains Part List of PDF Spool.
We use a 3rd Party Print provider and would like to Secure FTP the actual PDF File to them, but cannot download this file.
Anyone got any ideas on how this PDF containing the Payslips be downloaded.
    Gary

Anyone able to assist on this at all?

  • ISO 3rd party Apple service provider in the Inland Empire

ISO 3rd party Apple vendor or savvy Machead who can take out a hard drive from an old MAC G4. Ideas anyone?

Can you be more specific about where you are? Our area (northern Idaho/ western Washington) is called the Inland Empire but I've seen other regions use the same moniker.
Also, G4s are newer than this forum covers and have their own fourm area full of PPC experts. I'm going to ask the Hosts to move your post to the PowerMac forums (assuming you have a PowerMac G4 tower or Cube, and not a PowerBook, iMac, eMac, iBook, or other G4 variant.)
The forum you found gets painfully little traffic.
Here are Apple instructions from replacing a hard drive that cover most PowerMac G4s:

  • Consuming 3rd Party Web Service - Proxy Generation Error

    Hi All,
I am trying to consume a third party Web Service in SE80 and get the below error while completing the steps to configure proxy class.
    "Exception Occurred in Configuration Handler"
Uninstantiated object "new child subject" in method
    IF_SRT_WSP_SUBJECT_SERVICE~CREATE_BINDING of class CL_SRT_WSP_SUBJECT_SERVICE
The same web service when I try to import in Java it is fine. Has anyone encountered this issue?
Note: I tried both using URL and also saving as local file and its the same error message.
    Thanks,
    Nagarajan.
    The Question is still open.
Edited by: Nagarajan Kumarappan on Oct 10, 2011 9:40 AM

The problem we had was with the web service itself. There were in multiple places we had few definitions repeated which caused the issue. Once we removed it we were good. Use altova xml free for 30 days to check your wsdl. It's great tool to identify issues.
    Thanks and good luck !!!

  • How to turn off "Find my iPhone" for broken phone before passing it to repair services?

My wife's iPhone 5 is broken (water damage) and would not even switch on.  We have an insurance, so it is going to be repaired.  However, the repair agency advised us that we have to turn off the "Find my iPhone" function for this phone before we pass it to them for repair.
The problem is that the phone does not turn on at all, so there is no way to turn the feature off directly from the phone.  It was possible to remove it from iCloud, but from what I understand it still does not switch "Find my iPhone" off.
Repair agency told us that we have to delete the Apple ID profile completely in order to make the phone repair-able.  Is that correct?  Is there no other way?  I am afraid that if we delete the Apple ID profile, then all the purchased apps will not be accessible any more.  Also this ID is in use by other devices (Mac Mini, iPad) so that's not exactly the ideal situation.
    Please advise.
    Thank you.

I do suspect that they will not be really repairing.  However, I was told what I was told, and I just would not like to end up in situation when an iPhone gets comletely locked if they manage to fix it somehow but then it would lock-out because I did not remove it from "Find my iPhone".
I could remove the phone from the account already (as the page you refer to suggests).  Will that be sufficient?  Erasing it is not possible because it is switched off.

    enabled.
    For example:
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.

  • Making SOAP calls to a 3rd party Web service with PeopleCode

Hi everyone :) I'm new to PS and have two questions (the first is most important):
    1. Are there any good resources for using PeopleCode to make SOAP (or even GET/POST) requests to Web services hosted outside a PS environment? I found [this page|http://www.zutshigroup.com/site/tech/peoplesoft_soap_example], but it doesn't appear to connect to a remote WSDL.
    2. How does development work, exactly? I'm used to the standard web languages where you launch a local dev server like IIS, launch an IDE, build code, and view the output in a browser. Does the PS model work like this?
I am a developer for a company who offers Web services and am soon going to be remotely connecting to another company's PS dev environment to develop some sample code for them that integrates our services with their PS. I have no experience with the platform and due to the complexity of the PS installation won't be able to try it out before I begin developing. I would like to get as good a feel for this platform as I can before the meeting.
I appreciate any information you can give me on sample code resources, workflow concepts, etc, but my question is primarily about SOAP requests. I can research the rest.
    Thank you!

    Hi,
Not sure if that App Package is available in versions below 9. But, I think it should be available since PS internally does use the same App Class for integrating with Tax softwares like Vertex and Taxware. Also that example is used when one does not want to make use of any IB Objects...
You can definitely go ahead and make use of Standard IB Objects to Consume and Provide a Web Service in PS...
Would like to know, if PS is the Consumer or the Provider?
If PS is the Consumer then you can have a look at the code below ...
