Tool bar in Mail

Is there a way to get the paperclip icon that then takes you to the dialog box to open, save, etc.,  attachments  to be located in the toolbar?  It appears - and disappears - along with some other action buttons - as you scroll over the dividing line between the headder and the body of the message.  Old habit - never used those buttons - I put the ones I use in my tool bar.  Tried going to customize toolbar, but no paperclip icon for attachments.  Also the paperclip that shows up next to the name of the sender does nothing but tell you there is an attachment - clicking on that one does not take you too the attachment.
I love my mac for the "look and feel" and OS x Mavericks has messed with a lot of my look and feel habits.

Is the toolbar enabled?
Open a new message and in the Compose Window,
'''View|Toolbars|Formatting Bar''' needs to be checked.
Is HTML enabled on this account? If you're composing in plaintext then you won't be offered HTML-based formatting tools
'''Tools|Account Settings|<select account>|Composition & Addressing|Compose messages in HTML format''' needs to be checked.
Note that if you're replying to a message that was sent to you as plain text, Thunderbird may offer to compose in plain text when you reply. Holding down shift whilst clicking on Reply will toggle to the non-default state. There are also tools and add-ons that offer the ability to always use HTML, regardless of the original message's type; would this be of interest to you?

Yahoo mail tool bar (delete, more, spam, etc) not working in firefox.Works in Explorer.Web search points to Mozilla update problem."Plug-ins" up to date. Solutions?
I've used firefox for years now with out problems. Now that help is needed, Could you make this any more frustrating? I thought I was asking Mozilla help and I'm sent to "users". I went there 1st! there are similar questions but no answers. I've lost time and data. Is there any REAL PEOPLE to help with firefox problems?

    I'm a real person, thanks.
If you mean, does Mozilla have paid staff you could phone or email, the answer is "No."
Is the problem with a feature of the Yahoo! mail web page itself, or the Yahoo! toolbar?
    General advice:
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
    (2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * click the padlock or globe icon in the address bar > More Information > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
Could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
''If Firefox is not running:'' Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.
''If Firefox is running:'' You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    and OK the restart.
''Both scenarios:'' A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Refresh).
Any difference in how Yahoo! works?

Have you done a sampling of all users, or only those users that don't like it? While I don't mind it, I don't think I even noticed it at first until someone pointed it out.
I note that if you get Info on an item the icon is still colour so this is some OS level (we know best) overaly that's turning everything bland and boring, it would be nice if Apple let the user actually chose this rather than force it upon them ... just like Microsoft I'm sad to say.
Microsoft? The '90s are over. But regardless of what decade you are living in, Apple has never been too big on end-user customization of the operating system. Apple has always discouraged the use of "themes" whereas Microsoft will allow people to do pretty much whatever they want.
The file system icons are still the same as they have always been. The new monochrome icons are clearly a design trend more than any change to the underlying operating system. If you turn off the expanded view in any file save dialog (other than in Safari), you can still see the old, glorious, multicoloured icons. If you really wanted to, I'm sure you could change the system-level images and make Finder and Mail look just like they used to.

The "Use custom settings for history" setting allows to see the current history and cookie settings, but selecting that setting doesn't make any changes to history and cookie settings.<br />
Firefox shows the "Use custom settings for history" setting as an indication that at least one of the history and cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that changes were made.<br />
If all History settings are default then the custom settings are hidden and you see "Firefox will: (Never) Remember History".<br />

  • Mini tool bar missing in mail

I scroll through my incoming mail and find a message I want to reply to or forward.  I move my cursor to the body of the message and swipe up and down to try to make the mini tool bar (trash reply reply all forward) appear within the message.  Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't.  I've tried clicking on the message and it doesn't seem to make a difference.  Any ideas?

Thanks but it's not the main toolbar at the top of the mail window.  It's the "mini toolbar" that appears within an email message as shown below.  Sometimes it shows up so that I can click to reply, forward, or trash and sometimes no matter how what I try, it won't show up.

  • Where is the iCloud icon? I have a new ipad and although in settings I have the icon and have set music, mail etc to be stored on the cloud I do not have the icon on my home page or on the safari tool bar

Where is the iCloud icon ? I have the iCloud settings set to on for music, mail etc but the icon is not on my safari tool bar nor is the icon present on my home screen

There is no iCloud app or icon on your phone.  iCloud is enabled and configured in your settings, but you access your iCloud data through the apps you are syncing with iCloud.  iCloud contacts are accessed through the Contacts app on your phone, Mail through the Mail app, Reminders through the Reminders app, etc.
You can also access some of this data on icloud.com from a computer.  You can't, however, access icloud.com from your phone.

  • Mac Mail Tool bar

My .mac mail account has the usual tool bar items - reply, reply all, forward" but the chooise "move to folder" has moved on top of my first received email. Ho9w can I move it back to where it was before?
    Thanks for the help.
    PEACE and JOY! Paul

    Hello Paul.
Are you referring to webmail access for your .Mac
    account using a browser?
If so, this is the Mail & Address Book - Tiger
discussions for Apple's Mail and Address Book
    applications.
If for webmail access, the "Move To Folder" option
for a selected message if part of the "Actions"
button and associated menu. Where was the "Actions"
button before and when did this change?
    Allan,
Consistently I use Safari, home page is .mac and then click on Mail.
This took place about two months ago and the "New, Get Mail" and "Move To" bars just moved to the left, under the reply bar and on top of the first message.
    Hope this helps.

A few weeks ago you sent a tip by e-mail (which I have lost) explaining how to place the "Print" icon permanently on the top tool bar (top right; underneath the "Home" icon).
Could you kindly re-send the tip?

    Do the following:
    # Right click at the top of the Firefox browser
    # Select <i>Customize...</i> from the drop-down menu
    # Drag the <i>Print</i> button to the top toolbar/tab bar
    # Click <i>Ok</i>

    Hello jo90733,
I would recommend reinstalling Mountain Lion to replace the missing/damaged components of these applications. While the process shouldn't affect any data (images, music, etc) you have on the system, it's always a good idea to have a backup in place prior to reinstalling.
OS X Mountain Lion: Back up your Mac
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11371
OS X Mountain Lion: Reinstall OS X
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH10763
Important: You need to be connected to the Internet to reinstall OS X.
Choose Apple menu > Restart. Once your Mac restarts (and the gray screen appears), hold down the Command (⌘) and R keys.
If you’re not connected to the Internet, choose a network from the Wi-Fi menu (in the top-right corner of the screen).
Select Reinstall OS X, and then click Continue.
Follow the onscreen instructions. In the pane where you select a disk, select your current OS X disk (in most cases, it is the only one available).
To start the installation, click Install.
    Cheers,
    Allen
