Tool for BI monitoring within BI

Hello All,
Is there any tool to monitor BI Performance within BI.Request you to please tell me the functionality of this Tool also.
Thanks

hello,
It depends on wht type of performance you would like to see: Query Perf. ,data load Perf. , Server Perf.
1.BI Admin Cockpit which can be used for monitoring system performance and statistics.
check the link for BI AdminCockpit for performance monitoring:

Does newScale has any built-in tools for "trend" monitoring?
A couple questions being asked by my peers and I am not sure how to answers on 'trending' like:
How did a user get here (to the order form - through searching or navigating the service catalog)?
Is the service catalog in RC helpful or working as it is intended?
The team is working on putting together the service catalog for the RC, and they would like to know whether there's any tools available in newScale that would have some statistic on how people are using it.
    Any suggestion?

If your question of "is the service catalog in RC helpful or working as intended?" can be answered by the order volume trends, you might want to explore using the Reporting and Analytics capability in RequestCenter.
You can design these reports to provide the volume trends (even with charts):
Order Volume by Service Group over time
Order Volume by Service over time
Month over month service completion volume
    etc.

  • Colour profiles within PS are off for one monitor only?

    Hi guys,
I'm having a very strange issue with colour management in Photoshop CS2 currently.
Photoshop seems to be calibrating all documents in a strange way on only *one* monitor. If I drag the file across to the other monitor the colour is completely different.
Of course it sounds like my monitors being off, however when dragging the file across monitors Photoshop slowly updates the colours for the next monitor. You can see it display the wrong colour at first, then correct it (hopefully that makes sense).
Another symptom of it is when I go to 'save for web'. Here, the colours revert to what I believe are correct.
b It's worth noting that this has only started to happen since some Windows updates. One being an option update from Dell for my monitor - I can't seem to find any information about it though!
My tester that I've been using is a plain white to black gradient. What I'm seeing is a lot of cyan in the middle of the gradient. I've saved off an example:
    http://2dforever.com/photoshop.png
As you can see, all the greys are very green, but if you look at the gradient tool in the toolbar itself, the grey appears fine.
I'm unsure how I can adjust the colour profile from Photoshop for one monitor - am I missing something really obvious here?
Just to note: I'm on Win Xp SP2, Photoshop CS2, and I've cleared the preferences.

Since you only mention Photoshop as having a problem, this is almost
certainly, as you suspect, a monitor profile config problem.
Color profiles for individual monitors are configured in
    Start>Settings>Control Panel>Display>Settings>(Advanced Button)>Color
    Management.
In Settings, click on the monitor whose profile you want to verify before
clicking on the "Advanced..." button. I would start by adding and
defaulting the profile for the monitor that is causing problems.
The Microsoft XP color control panel applet makes setup easier, though it
is not really necessary. If the link below fails, google for keywords
Microsoft XP color control panel applet.

  • Tools for Monitoring Usage?

On this page I find the following, along with other info:
Usage Alerts –  A free tool that helps you monitor your usage via text messages sent directly to your mobile device
    Usage Alerts

    Automatic Notifications
    Yes, for data usage.
    See below for voice
    and messaging usage*
    Usage Alerts
This tool helps you monitor your usage via free text messages sent directly to your mobile device and / or emails sent to your email account. We offer two different types of free usage alerts: data usage alerts and voice and messaging alerts.
Voice and Messaging Alerts: If you have usage based pricing for voice or messaging, we may send you a free text message alert if you exceed, or are trending to exceed, your allowances on or around the twentieth day of your bill cycle.
    How to Get It
Usage alerts are included with all usage based plans; no initial setup is required.
I just had a bill with $112 overage for voice, I believe the overage began 13 days before the end of my billing cycle.  If I'm reading the above correctly I should have been notified but wasn't.  Associate I spoke with couldn't explain but did offer 30% discount.  @.45/min. the charge is much too high anyway.   Can anyone explain why I wasn't notified so I could avoid this overage?

I understand your frustration of receiving a bill that isn't what you expected but sometimes this happened because a number of possible things that may have been over looked or even simply a possible error but I have to point out that the usage automated system updates daily but isn't guaranteed to be 100% reliable because of a number of different variables that could cause the information to be off.  My suggestion is to use the #BAL from the device or #MIN to check usage, these are usually closer to the correct usage balance.
Another got suggestion to avoid this from happening is to log into your MyVerizon app on your device or online and keep track of your activity there..

  • Monitoring and Alerting tools for Business Object Data Integrator

    Hi,
We have Business Objects DI installed in AIX 5.3 environment. Please advise any type of monitoring and alerting tools for DI.
Monitor tools to monitor Job servers(like job service and web services running properly) and also to monitor long running extraction jobs and alerting the same. Thanks.
    Thanks.
    Raj.

    Hi Thomas
Though both the tools objectives are for Data integration, the purpose for both tools are different.
SAP BODS/ BOBJ Data Integrator is an ETL tool which involves combining data residing in different sources and providing users with a unified view of the data
SAP PI is a Middleware/EAI tool which have a mechanism/technology that connects different parts of an application or a series of applications
    SAP BOBJ Data Integrator
    Bulk Data Integration
    Extraction Transformation and Loading
Deals of huge volume of data
    SAP PI
It is process based integration of application data
It is a middle ware which integrates various project applications into a common programming package that can be operate/access as a single application
SAP NetWeaver PI is SAP’s implementation of Service-oriented Architecture (SOA) middleware and facilitates the integration of business processes that span different departments, organizations, or companies.
SAP PI uses SAP NetWeaver Application Server and message servers where in fail over cases the messages can be resent again.
The below differences will gives you more clarity
Verdict is we can use both the tools for data transfer/migration and for choosing the tool depends upon the business requirement
Please reply back if you need more information.

  • Monitoring and backup/restore tools for TT databases

    Hi there,
I am new to TimesTen. I need to set up automatic monitoring for TT databases. Are there any tools available? Also would like to know if there are any tools for tracking backups for these datastores.
Any standards & best practices for managing TimesTen environment available?
    Appreciate any help/advise.
    Regards

    Hi Vidya,
You did not mention what type of Unix/Linux you are using or what version of TimesTen. I will assume it is a mainstream Unix (Solaris, HP/UX or similar) or Linux (RedHat, SuSE etc.) and a recent (6.0 or 7.0) version of TimesTen. I will also assume that you want to put everything back 'as is' after the rebuild (i.e. you are not upgrading TimesTen versions or changing anything else about the configuration). IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO UPGRADE TIMESTEN AS PART OF THE REBUILD THEN THE STEPS LISTED BELOW WILL NOT WORK 'AS IS' AND WILL NEED MODIFICATION.
Assuming that the machine is going to be 'wiped' during the rebuild then the main things you need to preserve are:
    1. Kernel parameter and other system level configuratiopn for TimesTen and indeed any other software running on the box. You would do this by taking copies of the relevant system configuration files and re-applying the customisations after the rebuild. As well as kernel parameters this might include things like users and groups.
    2. The port numbers used by each installed TimesTen instance. You can find these out from the ttVersion and ttStatus commands in each instance. Make a note of these as you will need them afterwards for re-installation.
    3. TimesTen configuration files for each installed TimesTen instance. You may have multiple TimesTen instances of the same or different versions installed. You can find out by looking at
the file /etc/TimesTen/instance_info which contains details of every TimesTen installation (instance) on the machine. The instance configuration files are found in <install_dir>/info and are called; ttendaemon.options, sys.odbc.ini, sys.ttconnect.ini, snmp.ini and ttpasswd. You should make safe copies of all these files for each instance.
    4. Any user configuration files that e.g. configure TimesTen environment variables and any user ODBC configuration files such as .odbc.ini in user's home directory.
    5. Any datastores (databases) that you need to preserve across the rebuild. For each of these, take a backup of the datastore using the TimesTen ttBackup command and preserve the output files/directories. You need to do this separately for each datastore in each TimesTen instance.
After you have secured the above then you should be okay to do the rebuild. After the rebuild you should:
    a) Re-apply all system level config changes (kernel parameters, users, groups etc.) preserved from (see step 1 above).
    b) Re-install all required TimesTen instances into the same installation directories, and using the same port numbers, as they had previous to the rebuild (see step 2 above). The installations should be performed as the same user as the original installatuions (the ttVersion output from step 2 above would tell you that). Prior to performing the installation you would need a sysadmin to create the /etc/TimesTen directory and assign suitable permissiosn to it (see TimesTen installation Guide for more details).
    c) Re-instate the saved TimesTen configuration files for each instance (see step 3 above).
    d) Re-instate any user level configuration files (see step 4 above).
    e) Re-create any datastore directories as required ready to receive the restored datastores (check datastore and log file paths in ODBC configuration files).
    f) Restore the datastore backup directories (created in step 5 above) to somewhere on disk.
    g) Use ttRestore in each instance to restore each datastore from the backup files restored in step (f) above. This re-creates all your datastores with all their data etc.
If you follow this procedure and are not doing anything like changing TimesTen major versions (e.g. 6.0 -> 7.0) as part of the rebuild then you should not need to relink any application binaries. If for some reason you want to relink any application binaries you should consult the application developers who should have suitable makefiles to do this.
I think this is pretty complete but of course it is possible there are additional things specific to your installation or operational regime of which I am unaware and so of course we can not accept any responsibility for any errors or omissions...
I will send you the document on monitoring TimesTen via your e-mail address.
    Chris

  • Tooling for code analisis and monitoring

I would like to know if there is a good tool for java code analisis and monitoring, and also JVM performance monitoring.
    Thanks,
    arturo

I would suggest checking out VisualVM (https://visualvm.dev.java.net/). This integrates several tools that provide both >monitoring and profiling capabilities.
It seams like most of the function work only on 6.0 !! Nice Tool to work

  • Is SSAS the right tool for my active data monitoring?

I'm looking for a solution for actively monitoring many millions of records for abnormalities in data trends.  I'm familiar with warehouses, star and snowflake schemas, all of that good stuff.  I'm really interested in SSAS as the front end tool
or any other Microsoft tool that may lay on top of it.
I have a ton of client databases, all with nearly identical structure, which have data loaded to them weekly or monthly.  I want to automatically monitor this data when it's loaded (when new records are added to the database, basically).  I would
assume that this would be done through processing a cube periodically - I can trigger a reprocessing of the cube programmatically or whatever. I want to automatically get some kind of alerts when individual metrics that I have defined are outside of a threshold
that I have defined (one field as a percentage of another, a standard deviation range as compared to previous months, etc).
I have something like this in place already, but it's all home grown and becoming a maintenance nightmare.  We want to expand it to other areas, add more metrics to monitor, etc etc.  If there's a product out there (ideally SSAS which I already
own a license for) that makes this more manageable that would be fantastic.
Any other information you might be able to provide - articles, other product information, companion products, other tools, whatever - would be greatly appreciated also!  Thanks!

    Hi Mateoc,
In your scenario, you said that you have a ton of client databases, all with nearly identical structure,
so you can use SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to load the data to Data Warehouse. Then create a SQL Server Analysis Services Multidimensional database using this data warehouse as the data source.
SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) Multidimensional model is used when having large amount of data with complex requirements. In order to improve query performance, there will be a cube doing heavy time-consuming processing and then synchronize it
    to query cubes.

  • Monitoring/ tuning tool for sql server and os environment

What is a good tool for monitoring/tuning OS and SQL layers.

OS and SQL are different things, and I am not sure what you mean under layers.
To further expand my question, what OS build, what SQL Server edition?
All these have enormous impact on strategy.
Then the question is for what? OLTP need one tuning, DW another.
Monitoring is also a question of budget, how much allowed to spend?
Secondly, this forum is not dedicated to these kinds of questions.

  • KPI Measuring and Monitoring Tool for Contact Centers

    Dear all,
One of our customers using UCCE asked us for an  automatic tool that can monitor and measure the global contact center  KPI and availability including the following :
    - ICM/IPCC
    - CVP
    - CallManager
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks for all.

I have an app that logs the execution time of all DataWindow retrieves in a table. I can then run a report that tells me which ones are slow. The base DataWindow object captures the start time in the retrievestart event and the retrieveend event inserts a row into a table with the DataWindow name datetime and elapsed time. I use the QueryPerformanceCounter Win API function to get sub-second timing.
    Something like this:
    External Functions:
Function boolean QueryPerformanceFrequency(Ref Double lpFrequency) Library "kernel32.dll"
Function boolean QueryPerformanceCounter(Ref Double lpPerformanceCount) Library "kernel32.dll"
    Instance variables:
    Double idbl_frequency
    Double idbl_start
    Constructor event:
    QueryPerformanceFrequency(idbl_frequency)
    Retrievestart event:
    QueryPerformanceCounter(idbl_start)
    Retrieveend event:
    Double ldbl_stop
    Dec{6} ldec_elapsed
    QueryPerformanceCounter(ldbl_stop)
    ldec_elapsed = (ldbl_stop - idbl_start) / idbl_frequency
    INSERT INTO RETRIEVAL_ACTIVITY_LOG
               ( DATAWINDOW_NAME, RETRIEVE_DATETIME, ROW_COUNT, ELAPSED_TIME )
        VALUES ( :this.DataObject, getdate(), :rowcount, :ldec_elapsed );

  • Wi-Fi Network Monitoring Tool for Palm OS 5.x

    Hi there..
I'm trying to develop a 802.11b/g monitor tool for a Palm device (Tungsten C) using J2ME and it turns out to be pretty difficult or maybe even impossible.. meaning, I'm stuck. Since the J2ME VM is optimized for CLDC/MIDP enabled devices, it can't execute parts of the bytecode I used from jpcap. Same while trying to use libpcap with Java (using wrapper classes), it needs some of the J2SE classes which are not or partly supported by J2ME. So I was wondering whether you guys might have some suggestions to solve my problem (using Java)?
Thanx & Greets from Switzerland, Mike.

Any particular bytecode? Like maybe to do with doubles/floats? Or is java classes required by libpcap that are missing? I'm guessing you need deeper access to the 802.11 libraries to do monitoring. All you'll have in MIDP is the 'http' connector protocol.
