Tool for checking EJB compliance

Hi,
Is there a tool in WL server 6.0 for checking .jar files for EJB1.1 (EJB2.0) compliance. I'd appreciate
something like EJB Deployer Tool from WL 5.1 checking compliance feature.

Thanks for the suggestion, but this tool seems to not have this abilty. Isn't there some non-Java way to check this, like the command line tool to check which ports are being used by applications (forgot the exact name :) ).

Any automated tests or tools for checking if codes are cluster-ready?

Hi folks,
          Are there any tools that can comb through the codes (.java & .jsp) to check for any non-compliances for clustering?
          Or, is there any checklist around to follow if eye-ball checking is required?

You can do simple manual testing like:
          1) Start testing the app
          2) Bring down the primary server
          3) Continue testing
          With the above test, end user should not be lose any session information.
          Even if the primary server is down, the Http Sessions should be preserved and should continue uninterrupted.

Tools for checking DNS & OpenDirectory happiness

I'm trying to troubleshoot what I think is a DNS problem that is effecting OpenDirectory and single sign-on. Host and client both resolve $ host hostname.domainname.com to the right IP and vice verse from IP to hostname... nslookup seems to give accurate info back as well...$ klist shows one valid kerberos ticket (shouldn't there be more? one for mail, one for iChat, etc??).
Anyway, are there other places I could/should be looking to find out why single sign-on has recently broke. I did make a small change to DNS before the breakdown but DNS appears to be fine...and machine appears to be bound to the server (green light).

Tools for Compliance

I am aiming at eventual HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance. Right now from a tools perspective I have only Nessus, a scanning tool. As far as tools that I may need to invest in, what are the areas and best tools in those areas that I need to look at, to have a shot at HIPAA + SOC 2.
Has anyone tried to quantify the areas that you need purchase tooling and/or develop automated reporting around in order to faciliate the process of driving toward compliance standards such as these and can help me quantify what is needed as represented below?

It can be used but only sees a little of the VE, it however will see your VM environment. Compliance is really about the workloads. What they touch and whether what they indirectly touch. Start with figuring out the actual scope of the compliance.

Where are your workloads in relation to everything. Generally I would say Yes, but how is HIPAA handled today? First check that with your compliance folks. Compliance is really about the workloads. What they touch and whether what they indirectly touch. Start with figuring out the actual scope of the compliance.

You could turn Java on/off, javascript on/off, turn on source view, and many other things. Now I cant find that toolbar. All that I can find now turns on a panel in the lower half of the window that probably does all the same stuff, but it takes up much more room. Where did that toolbar go? or was it an add-on or plug-in?

There is a simple reason why we cannot do off-line ABAP development:
- the <b>ABAP dictionary</b> (which contains all structures, tables, data elementes, etc.)
Because even the simplest ABAP report (except for the "Hello World" report) will reference some objects from the ABAP dictionary and, thus, requires to access these objects directly. Therefore, we are still bound to server-side ABAP development.

Suggestions about the best tool for quality check for an ADF application

Hi All,
I need a few suggestions about the best tool for quality check in our ADF applicaiton.
ours is a small size WebCenter Portal application which neither uses any task flows nor consumes any portlets.
It has many jspx pages that use ADF components like table etc, consume web services using web service clients, and has some java classes.
We have come across below option to implement the code quality tools.
1. Jdeveloper inbuilt Staus option in View tab
2. PMD extension for Jdeveloper
3. Red Samurai
Few more suggestions or best practices would be really helpful.

Should apple have an upgrade tool that checks the computer for issues and fixes them prior to installing ML

I had a nightmare upgrade to Mountain Lion after downloading it from the APP Store I went to install and it got to the hard drive and it was greyed out and said it could not install on the startup drive I tried all the solution mentioned already, checking the disk the permissions, time machineetc and then started removing third party apps/software and it still wouldn't install in the end I saved everything I could to disk that I required and erased the disk, re-installed snow leopard and then re-downloaded Mountain Lion and then it installed perfectly and is running fine. I wish to ask if Apple can't make the upgrade process less stressful with some kind of tool that checks for issues prior to upgrading to ML and fixes or advices of any issues. Microsoft have had these kind of tools so surely Apple can do something similar that can advice of incompatibilty issues and fixes so that us MAC users aren't left scratching our heads trying to work out what is wrong, it's poor support when you can't help users get the software you make and sell onto our hardware Apple.

A dirty method that can be used from any client is to add "+EXPLAIN PLAN+" to the SQL - and instead of asking Oracle to execute the SQL, request it to parse it and generate an execution plan for you. Again, a successful execution plan result means a successful parse - and again, for that specific session environment only.
Why is session environment important? There are NLS setting that can make an explicit string to date conversion of a literal work in one session and fail in another. The current scope of the session could point to a different schema. Etc.
So even though you may get a successful parse, it could be pretty meaningless as when it is executed the environment is different.
Which then begs the question why do you not parse it once up front, and then used the code in its "+parsed+" format? This is what stored procedure code does for you. And why it is a better option than to store the source code externally, outside Oracle, on another system.
There are also a host of other issues to consider such as security, maintenance, access control and so on, that makes stored code a significantly superior option all around than storing SQL and PL/SQL code in some external script somewhere.

Is there a check disc or scan disc tool to check for lost data clusters in the compact flash memory of the Crio?

When you receive one of the cRIOs I would look at its disk by typing ftp://[RIO IP Address] and anaylyze the file hierarchy to make sure there isn't the possibility of unnecessary files on one of the cRIOs. Also if you would like for each RIO to be identical you may try formating one and deploying the real-time application and files needed to stand alone in the field. If you haven't looked into this already you may consider using RAD to create an image of one of your real-time targets and pushing it to other targets after reformatting them so that they identical.
