Tool for J2ME development

Hi
I am new in J2ME technology.
Does anyone know if Eclipse DE provides any package to do some developments and testing of J2ME?
If not, which tools I can use to ease the development?

You can also use Netbeans 5. http://www.netbeans.org. Download mobility pack after you use Netbeans IDE

  • The tool for testing developed system

We have already developed a system base on WebAS.Is there  some test tool for the developed system such as J Unit in Java? Thanks.

If your intentions is to test user interfaces or scenarios eCatt is the best choice. If you want to ensure code quality ABAP Unit and Code Inspector are suited well.

  • Tools for SAP development work management?

    Hi fellow SAP developers!
As you know, in a big software company the management of development work can be a challenge. Everyone should be able to see quickly who is doing what, who is available for new work, how did some old requests get solved and where is their documentation. We are talking about more than just some simple ticket management system here. It would be a central repository and work management tool for years to come.
I am interested to hear some suggestions for good tools that can be used for development work management in SAP world.
    - It should be a tool where development requests can be input, reviewed, approved, documented and stored.
    - It should support storing attachments
    - It should support a project structure, under which the development items are created.
    - It should be searchable and have different views to the development requests (for example by project, request raiser, developer, status etc.)
    - It should have some kind of approval system or workflow.
    - It should also support email notifications when the status or person assignment changes.
    - It should run on large corporate network (accessible in intranet, perhaps via browser).
    - A nice bonus would be a mobile client access for urgent cases
I'm keen to hear any proposals, even if not all the points in the wishlist are fullfilled
I'm interested to hear any comments on your exeperiences on various work  management tools. What worked and what not?

Well, a SAP based product would be efficient as it is integrated and there would be no need for additional licenses etc.
I have to investigate the Solution manager offerings more, if that indeed could handle this task. Have you got any further information or experience?
Rally sounds interesting as well! Are there any other tools like that, proven good in SAP development?
For simply using Abap workbench, I'm afraid that is not good enough for what I'm after. How would you manage for example work queues, project based issue views and extensive solution documentation with it? And everything would have to be searchable and visible for also for non-technical managers who do not log in to SAP.

  • Database access tool for Java Development

    Hi,
A couple of days back, our SAP's database (MSSQL) was corrupted and downed the Java Stack.
During the Java development, normally after a newly created table was deployed via Java Dictionary, Java developer will access the database via the MSSQL Enterprise Manager to view/delete/update data. Unlike the ABAP development, all database access was done via SE16 in SAPGUI. It was believed that the Java Development kind of direct access to the database via the MSSQL Enterprise Manager was causing some MSSQL tables to be corrupted, and thus downed the Java Stack.
    1. Is there any tool like SE16 to access database during the Java Development?
    2. If no, what kind of recommendation/tool to access database for Java Development?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
    julius

    Julius,
There are no industry recommended open source DB tools.
Normally it depends upon the developer preferences that how he/she wants to see the tool usability.
I can suggest you to go through the below link:
    http://sourceforge.net/search/?type_of_search=soft&words=SQL+Tools
You can find many open source SQL tools, which you have to test and select one among them.
I can suggest you to use:
    1) TOra
    2) Easy SQL
    3) SQuirrel

  • Migration Verifier Tool for SQL Developer Migrations?

    Hi all,
The old Migration Workbench has an optional add on verification tool to verify migrations to Oracle.
I am looking for a similar migration verifier tool for the SQL Developer migration process.
Does one currently exist for SQL Developer migration tools?
    Regards,
    Ben Prusinski

    Hi Ben,
The old migration verifier seems to be at:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/migration//dmv/index.html
Sue Harper (Product Manager) would be the person to comment further probably through SQLDeveloper statement of direction:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/sql_developer/files/sqldeveloperstatementofdirection.htm
I do not see anything there.
There is a tools->database diff wizard which I have not looked into in detail and I doubt that applies for migrations.

  • Visual tool for trigger development

I am looking for a visual tool for trigger (or PL/SQL) development that includes metadata. It should be a kind of ETL tool but specific for triggers. That would help a lot when documenting triggers, checking for dependencies, data lineage, etc.
Anyone know any tool from Oracle or out there?

How about Oracle's very own SQLDeveloper?
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/sql/index.html
Other option would be TOAD by quest
    http://www.quest.com/toad_for_oracle/
    or PL/SQL Developer from AllroundAutomations.com

  • Free tools for J2EE development

    Hi
I'm new to Java and here one question, that is very important to me now
Which tools can I use to develop J2 EE applications?
My question concerns mostly to tools, that can compile/build java files into classes? debug it and build then jar-files
Is there any free!!!, handy and reliable software for this purpose?
    Any help will be appreciated
    Thank you in advance
    Yurij

NetBeans, as mentioned in previous posts is probably a good choice if you want totally free J2EE development. Sun provides many tools for the J2EE developer to write and test J2EE code.
Eclipse, while very good, is lacking in J2EE features. I didn't understand this until I started a new contract where they used WSAD (WebSphere Studio Application Developer) from IBM (Eclipse with J2EE support via plug-ins. It's roughly $4K per seat so definately not free. But havign Eclipse expirience did help me get up to speed quickly.
You might also check out MyEclipse (www.myeclipseide.com). It has J2EE plug-ins that provide for J2EE development and it costs roughly $30 per year (subscription). Not a bad deal, IYAM.
I think Borland still offers a free IDE but I haven't heard much about it these days.
There are others, but the top has to be NetBeans and Eclipse these days.
    Enjoy!

  • Testing Tools for Oracle Developer Server

    Hi,
Are there any existing Automated Testing Tools to simulate load for the Oracle Developer Server.
    Lemme know.

Oracle has an internal testing tool that can be used to do this called Intercept Server.
You can ask your local consulting office to carry out the load test for you using Intercept Server.
If you would like to do this task yourself then you will need to purchase a load test tool from Mercury called LoadRunner, last thing I heard they supported Forms 4.5 and were about to support Forms 6.0

  • Tools for custom development

    Hello!
I have done some programming in MS Excel(VBA) - source data are taken from bw and erp systems. This program does complicated computation based on the source data and it takes few hours to execute. Results are later analyzed with different Excel files. Now I need to extend this program with addition source data and calculations which Excel might not handle.
What tools within the SAP NetWeaver you can suggest for custom application development?
    Best Regards,
    Maris Klimavicius

Basically, you need a VM/Application server that can handle processing of large datasets. Visual Basic is extremely good for rapid application development but when it comes to large data processing and computations of millions of records, its not the best choice available. There are a lot of overheads of this development environment that make it unsuitable for your case. Unless you are ok to work with Win32 API using VB, I'd strongly suggest using ABAP which has been built ground up for data processing. Moreover, when using VB, you may need to employ techniques for parallel processing to reduce the processing time. All of this can be handled in ABAP very easily. Unless you can use SQL Server's data processing capabilities for analytics, I think you should re-evualte your current preferences.
    Thoughts????

  • Are there any good black box testing tools for j2me?

Is there any good testing tools available for testing software on physical mobile devices?
I would like to partially replace manual testing with automated testing using a test tool. It should work on physical devices, and with the help of a script it should be possible to execute predefined sequences of button pressings on the device. Preferably there should also be some way of deciding whether the test was a succes without having to do so entirely manually.
The purpose with this would be to make it easier to go through the test protocols, which has to be done before every new software release.
Deviceanywhere.com looks promising at first glance but it is rather costly. Still, does anyone have an opinion of it?
Does anyone has experience of Mobile junit for this kind of testing? Is it possible to define series of physical button pressings with it? At first glance it doesn't seem so.

You can collect the Organizational Health in Exchange 2010 console for Exchange 2003/2007/2010 and that will list very useful information about statistics in your organization like servers, databases, CALs, recipient, feature used etc...
    Collect Organizational Health Data -
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd351156%28v=exchg.141%29.aspx
However it doesn't contain any configuration information and that you need to collect it manually because that depends on needs of each organization and how they want to setup their infrastructure...

  • Change Control tools for APEX development

I have a customer who is using APEX and would like to have change control, version, and synchronization of APEX pages...
Basically we are talking about Configuration management capabilities

Well, since APEX is mostly pl/sql based, the other poster's idea of SQL Developer is valid... The other items.... you are on your own for test scripts (again sql developer for the pl/sql required...)
What it sounds like is your are wanting a oracle designer wrap-around for APEX.. Don't know what to tell you.. I would suggest you look at some type of version control system.. Subversion is a good one, MS Source Safe works too...

  • [Arduino] Best tools for Arduino development

    Hello,
The IDE doesn't looks like it fits my needs I'm looking for a more Arch Linux/KISS way to play with my Arduino.
Basically I would like to use the editor of my choice and use some build/upload scripts.
    Any advices, recommendations?
    Thanks.

I'm not familiar with any other way of working with Arduino code than using the IDE, however if you are feeling somewhat adventurous, you can always use the gcc-avr/avr-libc toolchain and write code for the micro-controller in C.  This is advantageous as you would be free to choose the IDE or text editor of your liking for creating the software, and by familiarizing yourself with the C language, you may advance to writing code for other micro-controller platforms.
The down side of this is that you are loosing all of the "rapid and easy" development awesomeness of the Arduino language.
