Tool to create a nice navigation bar

I would like to do: +Well my new menu is CSS3 based. Of course I would love to include more in that menu. Here is my dream menu:+
+Far left: An arrow that point to the previous page+
+Left: Google translate menu integrated to my main menu+
+from left to right: my menu in CSS3 (the one I have is not bad)+
+Right: A Search box for Google+
+Further right: My “Tell A Friend” button+
+Far Right: Another arrow to point to the next page.+
+Is it possible? I’m sure it is! Have I find the perfect tool to do it? No not yet! Am I capable of getting it done? Well, may be, not sure on that one.+

I may have another issue: Search box from Google. About a month ago my Adsence was cancelled by Google for some obscur reason that I still not fully understand. Well it took my search box with it. If you try the site: http://www.wesdotphotography.com/Home.html you will see the search box on the bottom left, try it with the word "Tiger" well it return a error message. I play with Google search for a while and found another search feature that does not involve Adsence account, it works but I must do the search and get the result on the same page, the Result page for now: http://www.wesdotphotography.com/results.html
Well, let me tell you, I do not like it. If I do not find a way to incorporate this search box in my nav-bar and be able to redirect the results to a different page I'm kind of stuck...
Sorry, just trying to voice my frustration to people that will understand me.

How can i create a additional navigation bar

Hi,
i'm searching for a solution to create a additional navigation bar for my website. I created the site in German. Now i have to add the website in the English version. The problem is now, that the navigation bar will not check, that i will have a seperated version of the site in English.
Anybody there to help me out?

What you need to do is create the English and German sites as totally new sites so you have one site named English and one named German and you won't need to create any new navigation menus. Just link the sites together.
If you really want to create a new nav menu, then turn off the page template nav menu by opening the Inspector and going to Page, then check the boxed 'hide nav menu' and 'don't include in nav menu' and create your own text based nav menu by using either shapes of text boxes and then creating Hyperlinks between the pages.

You can either use CSS to style the SpryMenuBar or there are commercially available options like Project Seven's Pop Menu Magic: http://www.projectseven.com/products/menusystems/pmm2/index.htm . If you have the money I personally recommend the latter of the two, but you can easily style the Spry menu as well.

Best way to create a sliding navigation bar

As a newcomer to web design I am just about to embark on my first major project. This requires a navigation bar in a strip down the left edge of the page. I recently stumbled across what i thought was a very elegant and space saving design for this navigation bar at:

Javascript Problems with Navigation Bar

Hello,
The navigation bar created by iWeb uses Javascript. Javascript is turned off on some of the machines that will be visiting my site. Is there a way to tell iWeb to just create the navigation bar with simple html code instead of hand-jamming it into each page myself? Thanks.

Well yes, you can hide your nice navigation bar at the top of the page and create your own text based nav bar. It can look exactly the same as the other if you want it to - you can use the same text and get the same colour, so you can achieve exactly the same look as the other one that you have hidden and put it in exactly the same place. It is just that the one you create will be text based and don't forget to hyperlink your pages too.
I have never used the page template nav bars on my site as they just don't fit and most of the nav bars are at the top of the page anyway and as I have quite a few links on my site, this just does not work. It took me a long time to make my nav bar, as I did all the links individually to look like a drop down menu down the side of my site - I am glad I did though as I like the effect achieved.

you're supposed to have only one, but I need two.
Or can I have one navigation bar distributing rollovers in
two different places on the page, say one at the top and one at the

Yep, that's because the built-in DW navigation behavior is a
real
clunker. It's one of the ones i mentioned that would make
this hard.
You have a few options. One is to start over using a better
method.
But then you lose all your nice menus.
Another way, <here I am selling something!> is to
remove the DW
navigation behavior, but leave all the mouseover and mouseout
behaviors
in place, and then use my divavGPS DW Extension. It will work
nicely
with your mouseover image menus to highlight the current menu
item, like
the DW navigation menu behavior except it can work on any
number of
menus with a whole lot less code on the page. It also works
fine even

Combinding Resources in the FIM Portal Navigation Bar

We have two different OUs for computers in our AD that have the same attributes. Server and Workstation, there is no attribute that indicates if the computer is a server or a workstation. My solution was to create two different MAs, AD Server MA and Workstation
MA and corresponding Metaversa objects and FIM schema objects. All good so far, I sync the appropriate computer objects from each ou into their corresponding FIM schema objects. I have created FIM Portal Navigation Bar Resources for each
that show the Servers and Workstations correctly. My question is this, I would like a Nav Bar resource - Computers - that combine both of these resources, and then under Computers have Servers and Workstations - is this possible?

Hello,
thats quite easy to do.
Simple create a "Search Scope" that includes both Computer types.
Use this search scope as the Navigation Bar URL, the easiest way to get the URL (which contains the GUID of the Search Scope) is to add "Global" to the Search Scope Keyword, after that you can use the Search scope from the FrontPage of the Portal
for a search. In IE you should then see the URL for this Search scope an can use this in the NavBar Res.

Navigation Bar

Hi,
I want to create a navigation bar that consists of two parts, on the left side of my page. The first part includes symbols and is narrow; the second part includes the description of the symbols and is therefore wider. The first bar is always visible. The second bar should be invisible on page load and fly in when triggered (by rolling the mouse over the first narrow part). When rolling off the second part, it should fly out again. I managed to let the second bar fly in and created a button with the same size as the second, wider bar, which triggers the "fly out" effect when the mouse moves off this button. So far, so good.
The tricky part is that I want to include 10 smaller buttons within the second part, which change color when rolled over and which link to different pages.
I manage to trigger the second bar and let the different buttons change their colors etc. but the problem is that the second bar doesn´t fly out again. It seems that the button that triggers the fly out effect is underneath the other buttons and can therefore not be triggered.
Here is a picture of what I just described. I hope it helps to understand my problem.

Doesn't make sense. Interactive PDF is totally different from an App.
Apps would let you do most of what you want, but the amount of work is daunting. (Bob Levine knows this quite well.) And I don't think things can move from left to right.
Interactive PDF is a bit less daunting, but I know things won't move in from left to right.
Salah's example is the easiest to create with an interactive PDF or App

Altering text on 'template' navigation bars

Is there any way in iWeb 9 to alter the text - font, color, size - in the template navigation bars. I remember it wasn't possible in earlier versions.
I know I can create my own navigation bar, but then there is no automatic process when building the separate pages (other than hand copying the navigation bar from page to page).

It can be done, but it means altering javascript code - how are you at doing that?
Do a search of the site and there have been lots of questions relating to how to alter the page template nav bars over the past month - lots should come up and just have a look at the code that has been posted.
You either do this or build your own text based nav bar. I know it is a little more fiddly but does not really take that long - I build my own all the time for both my sites and I don't find it time consuming - you can always just build one page and duplicate to save time.

Hello,
The rollover or dropdown menu will be the biggest issue, best way to realize that would be using a widget. I have been trying for another user to create a flyout menu, using effects triggered by advanced actions, but was not able to have this functionality more than once.
There are some widgets coming with Captivate: did you have a look at the 'GotoSlide_AS3' widget: it allows you to type in precisely the slides you want to offer navigation to. It will not dropdown on rollover, user has to click.
I do not understand your other wish: you do not want all the slides ready in the menu, only the ones that have already been visited? What if they did not visit anything yet, what do you want to show up for navigation? Which links should be disabled?

Spry Navigation Bar

I'm new to dreamweaver CS5 and have created a new spry navigation bar. Is there a way to create one generic navigation bar to be used in several different pages so when I have to update the menus, I don't have to change each spry navigation bar for each page. Basically one main navigation bar to be used in several different pages w/out having to create a nav bar for each page.

Navigation bar placement

So I had to create a page in Dreamweaver so I could use a specific flash player which was not working by adding the code to a iWeb page. So I hack the page by re-creating the iWeb navigation bar and creating a dummy page in iWeb and redirect it to my "hacked" DW page.
Now I need to match the position of the navigation bar of the iWeb pages and I'm having problems. I was able to match it by trial and error using specific location but its position won't re-adjust when the browser is resized. I'm thinking there was be an easier way to do this properly.

Go to: Application Builder>Application Number>Shared Components>Templates>Edit Page Template>Definition>Body, here you will find some code like "<td valign="top" align="right">#NAVIGATION_BAR##REGION_POSITION_08#</td>" where in the #NAVIGATION_BAR# is set. Also in the subtemplate you have the Navigation Bar and Navigation Bar Entry.

Using navigation bar in manual mode

Im trying to create a secondary Navigation bar onto a page called 'projects' I have created two child pages on the map called 'selected works' and '2012-13' and when i try to add a navigation bar the only pages that link are the main ones. Is there a way to overcome this? I have tried using the manual mode, however when previewd this hasn't been working.

Saving Navigation Bar as Library Item with CSS working?

I have created a simple navigation bar with a separate color for "over" and saved it as a library item. A warning box indicates that the item may not work the same as the original as the CSS may not be copied. What is the simplest method for correcting this?

If your html docs are linked to an external stylesheet, they will get their styles from the CSS file.

I highly recommend using server-side includes instead of Library Items for menus. A server-side include file is easier to maintain by editing one file and uploading it to your server. With Library Items you must make changes to the Library Item and then re-publish all pages containing that item.
