Database Configuration Assistant, Oracle Administration for Assistant
Windows NT, for Oracle Windows NT Performance Monitor. But these are
attending... I I need a grafica tool that allows to see the objects me
of the data base... asi as it has MS SQL Server 2000. Thanks...

Is MDM a tool to design a Data ware house or Database . Is it an ETL.?
Actually what do you design in the repository? Does it follow any schema ? where does the data get stored?
would i load the data into MDM?

I understood the usage of MDM & The differnce between SAP BI that MDM is for Master data
and BI is for both Master and Transactional data and a lot more...

Suggest you to read the reference guides on MDM, will answer most of your queries.
What is the name of the Schema ? as you mentioned.
Is it Star Schema, snow flake schema or extended star schema? or any other?
MDM can use any schema file custom or SAP standard IDoc structure. Star or snow flake schema are database design principles. You can store any xsd file as valid schema in MDM which contains information about the data type and field name,meta data etc in MDM repository.
Could you pls let me know to What could be the prerequisites interms of knowledge to design a repository?
Do i have to be specialized in any data base designing?
This is most important job Data modeling. You need to understand the master object considered and the business needs or processes which will be supported by MDM. Use Data Manager reference guide, that will equip you with Data modeling.
do i have know xml, abap as well to work on MDM?
Not necessarily but if you know them it adds value while working on integration scenarios of MDM like Consolidation and Harmonization of data.

his is a basic design model but i need to know abt it ,i nned to do a data base design on a time table for an educational institution such yhat
1)teachers
2)students
3)classes
4)sections
5)periods
are my diff objects how can i shedule a time table such that i can allocate each teacher to each class(means 1sem,2sem,3 sem...) and for each class i have 4 sections so that i have perday 8 periods so that how can i assign a teacher to a sction to aclass to a sem.help me in creating this data base design using<b> oops</b>

you are doing this for which version of SAP i.e. 4.7/ECC-5/ECC-6?
in order to meet industry specific typical requirements, SAP releases add-ons which are called as IS. Similarly for education SAP has released add-on which is called as "IS-HER (Higher Education & Research)" which has got more functionalities to address the requirements of educational institutions. you may have look at this.

Creating a Crystal Report from a non-SAP data base

I have the following scenario
server1\myDataBase
server1\SAP\sapDataBases
in sapDataBases I have about 30 company databases. I am trying to create a report, that gets informatino from a table/view/SP from server1\myDataBase, when I try to PREVIEW or SAVE such report on SAP Business One, I always get errors as
I understand that this eerror means taht I can't invoke the data from out of SAP; it needs to be inside SAP (at least the SP, incoking some other data bases and stuff..)
Some bodies have told me that it is beacuase I can only create a report from a table/view/sp that resides in the running/currently SAP company database. Is this right?
Also, If this is the case, this means that If I have an SP taht I use for a crystal report, and 30 companies, I have to create such SP in the 30 companies?
This is my software details:
SQL Server 2012
SAP Business One 9 PL 11
SAP BusinessObjects Crystal Reports 2013 Support Pack 2 version 14.1.2.1121
What I want to do is to create a non-SAP data base to create all the SPs/Views for reports, to centralize it, and the just create one reporte and do the 30-imports in each company database, without the need of creating such sps/views in each company-database. Is this possible?

Importing music, artwork and data base from external hard drive

I purchased a MacBook to use primarily as a music server. I have an external hard drive with over 300GB of music files ripped from CDs in Apple Lossless with a computer using Windows XP. I also have another external hard drive formatted for the Mac. My goal is to attach both drives to the MacBook via USB and transfer the music files, album art, and iTunes data base from the Windows system hard drive to the new Mac formatted hard drive. Then I am going to reformat the Windows system hard drive to the Mac format and use it as a back up for the other hard drive. Has anyone ever done something similar? If so, I would appreciate some guidance. If possible, I want to do the above so that the file names and artwork from the Windows itunes system do not get changed or left out when making the transfer to the Mac system. All music files will still be in ALAC. Thanks to all for your help.

If you want to create and use true databases, you must use an other app dedicated to this feature.
There is a powerful database tool in LibreOffice but it requires a serious learn curve.
There are numerous available apps starting from Bentoy to FileMaker or 4th Dimension.

Best Practice for SAP PI installation to share Data Base server with other

Hi All,
We are going for PI three tire installation but now I need some best practice document for PI installation should share Data base with other Non-SAP Application or not. I never see SAP PI install on Data base server which has other Application sharing. I do not know what is best practice but I am sure sharing data base server with other non-sap application doesnu2019t look good means not clean architecture, so I need some SAP document for best practice to get it approve from management. If somebody has any document link please let me know.

You should not mix different apps into one database.
If you have a standard database license provided by SAP, then this is not allowed. See these sap notes for details:

How to design data load process chain?

Hello,
I am designing data load process chains for the first time and would like to get some general information on best practicies in that area.
My situation is as follows:
I have 3 source systems (R3 and two for which I use flat files).
How do you suggest, should I define one big chain for all my loading process (I have about 20 InfoSources) or define a few shorter e.g.
1. Master data R3
2. Master data flat file system 1
3. Master data flat file system 2
4. Transaction data R3
5. Transaction data file sys 1
... and execute one after another succesful end?
Could you also suggest me any links or manuals on that topic?

Andrzej,
My advise is to make separate chains for master & transaction data (always load in this order!) and afterwards make a 'master chain' where you insert these 2 chains one after the other (so: Start process -> Master data chain -> Transaction data chain).
Regarding the separate chains; paralellize as much as possible (if functionally allowed). Normally, the number of parallel ('vertical') chains equals the nr of CPU's available (check with basis-person).

Data base in microsoft office is damaged andI can't rebuild it. suggestions?

The data base for Microsoft Office 2008 has been damaged. I've tried twice to rebuild the data base, but it stalls after 2 hours and I'm forced to cancel. Very frustrating. The Office tools is a nice tool, but it's not working. I can use Word, Excel and PP but Entourage will not open at all. I've removed office and reinstalled and downloaded all of the updates. I still get the same message. If I have to start over, so be it, but I'm not sure how to completely remove Office. I removed it using Microsoft tools. (Positive reinforcement that I will always use Macs!) Any suggestions will be most appreciated.

use time machine (if you have it on before all the errors in office) to restore the working files. if not you can use cleanmymac to remove all microsoft office program files and then reinstall office. Back up all your data before useing cleanmymac. it is a good app but it can clean too much some times if you do use clean my mac, open clean my mac click applications tab drag office apps from finder>applications not the dock and microsoft update as well. then click remove. it will remove all files that go with office (It wont remove Your document files) her is a link to a free trial of clean my mac http://macpaw.com/cleanmymac

Installer data base is corrupt

I downloaded Photoshop and In Design CS 4.0 for Windows from https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs4-product-downloads.html and when I extract the .exe file it says the Installer data base is corrupt. Anyone out there that can help? Thanks!

Please make sure that if you have any other version Adobe applications installed like CS 3, CS 5 or CS 6 .

Adobe offline form with capablity to read data from a local data base.

We have customer requirement for a offline Adobe form which will be used by Sales rep, this form when saved to the local hard disk is required to read data from another local data base available in the laptop and prefill a few fields in the form .
Is this requirement technically feasible using Adobe forms?

Well may be it's possible because if you go to the Data View in ALD and create a new Data Connection --> OLEDB database --> Build --> It gives you various options for connecting to different DBs but frankly speaking I have never tried it.
