Toolbar alerts

I recently experimented with loading some type of TV viewer on my MBP. I decided to delete it and "think" I did as I really do not know how to delete a program. I now have an icon on the toolbar "alert". Is this a normal MBP icon, which I have not noticed before, or put there by the TV program I tried to install? I would like to get rid of it but am unable to. Any comments and assistance is appreciated.

Delete all the following folders, then reboot:
/Applications/Toolbars
/Library/Application Support/Conduit
/Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
Let me give you some friendly advice. If you download installer packages from random websites offering "free" content, you're eventually going to install spyware (if you haven't already), or worse. NEVER run any installer package, or enter your administrator password when prompted by an application, unless it comes from Apple or another source you KNOW you can trust. What you installed is pure garbage and possibly spyware.

  • "Community Toolbar" Alert. How to get rid of it.

Each time I open up Safari an alert pops up titled "Community Toolbar." Underneath it says, "We're sorry but the Safari broser version you are currently using does not support the community toolbar." I've checked for updates and there were none, so now I am lost and it's really starting to bug me and I would like to get rid of it. Please help!

That's an add-on for Firefox. To disable it, launch Firefox and go to Tools - Add-ons. Click Extensions if it's not already highlighted, choose the Kodak extension, and click Disable or Uninstall if you want nothing more to do with it.

  • Notifications and beta versions

I’m a software tester and I would like to try our sites
with beta versions before they are released to the public. I
haven’t been able to find any beta version of the flash
player on this site, if anyone knows where they are could you send
    me the link?
Also I haven’t been successful in registering myself to
get notifications to flash player updates. Does anyone know how to
    do that?

Some updates of Flash Player have public beta releases, and
some do not. When there -are- public betas they always appear on
    http://labs.adobe.com.
As far as I know we do not have a notification service for
future updates that you sign up for as an email service. There is a
notification system built into the Flash Player Settings Manager
that gives you a toolbar alert when there is an update (

  • ADA 508 Compliance Workflow Overview (tab key for navigation / WebAim Toolbar)

    Hi,
I've been assigned to update interactive training for a State agency..... with of course, an emphasis on ADA / 508 compliance.
So, before I pinpoint my two questions/scenarios, here is a basic, initial attempt at providing an overview of ADA compliance workflow in Captivate and beyond.
PS - useful Captivate forum urls are at the end of this post. I'm using Captivate v.6
    ADA Compliance Workflow Overview:
    1. All assets need an alt tag and conceivably a description > highlight the asset, like a pic, and click the Accessibility button under Properties.
    2. Create slide notes for each slide > load slide, highlight no assets and click the Accessibility tab under Properties. Copy and paste your notes > for screen readers.
    3. Need closed captioning for video/audio content > I use Camtasia for CC and will use the JW player for screen reader of video content.
    4. Interactivity needs to be accessible via the tab and enter keys.
    What else am I missing?
    Question 1
My question targets how to get the enter key to initiate after a successful tab. To be clearer.... I hit tab and I can navigate through all the buttons in the correct order, but hitting enter provides no action. I am gettining the yellow highlights around buttons when I tab through. Everything works very well when using the mouse, but blind users don't use mice.
I did create my own animation buttons in Flash and imported them in as animations. I then placed a Click Box behind the button animation to engage the rollover action. Could this be causing problems? The prebuilt (and clunky looking) buttons on the quizzes do work (ie) tabbing to them and hitting enter provides effective navigation.
I'm opting not to use the playback control skin, only my Flash nav bar.
    Question 2 (Scenario 2)
I have downloaded the WebAim Toolbar feature designed for FireFox, used to check ADA compliance issues.
I am getting this error message:
A frame does not have a title attribute or value. Okay... I bet I can fix this via the .html file or via the standard.js file??
    and these warnings:
Alert: Javascript in head - A javascript element is present in the page head section.
Alert: Flash - A Flash object is present.
Does anyone know if these alerts are worth fixing?
Obviously Captivate is going to pump out, or rather publish... javascript elements, but is this bad in the page head section?
And..... of course a Flash object is present...Captivate produces Flash / Shockwave files.
I'll obviously ask the programmers at WebAim for guidance as well. As always any help would be appreciated and Tanks in advance.

    Hi,
Attached is my zipped project file. I did create my own buttons in Flash - this might be the problem. I have only been problem solving with navigation on the first four slides.
To clarify, hitting the Enter key does engage navigation, however I’m having difficulty controlling the navigation so that it goes to the correct location.
I’m using Captivate v.6 / publishing SCORM 1.2 / Using IE to deliver via the SyberWorks LMS.
    Here is question 1:

  • How can I get my email on the toolbar (shown as logged in), indicating if I have any new messages?

On my toolbar at the top, I used to be able to know automatically if I have any new emails (there will be a number which shows how many messages). Now, all I see is an icon of "logged out." how do I get my email logged in, with a corresponding number next to it, showing if I have any new messages?
I don't know how to enable this feature. Instead, everytime I want to check email, I have to go through the hassle of logging in. Before, I didnt have to do that as I would see a number, telling me how many new messages I have. It's a nuisance. How do I get this email alert thing back and running?

What is a "G4" iPhone?  No such thing exists.
Regardless, installing iTunes on the computer has no affect on being able to access an email account on an iPhone.

  • Alert message in tool area with hyperlink to forum/km

    Hi all,
I'm looking for informations about the tool area customization located in the framework.
I've read that we could publish a message in the header about information or important notifications, but I did not found any hint  over ther internet nor in SDN on how to make it work (I'm not so experienced in portal dev).
I would like to do something very similar to SAP Marketplace for important events (maintenance, critical issues...): a warning message appearing at the top of the portal (in masterhead?) with an hyperlink to a document (km or discussion to put informations on the fly...) which appears only when messages are published (i.e. no link if no message is published, or an easy way to switch it off).
Any hint is welcome as tool arean is not documented at all...
           Pierre

    Hi Pierre ,
Actually there are a few ways to do it .
    1) If you want to put up message in Masthead , you will have to customize its par . You can insert a link , on the click of it you will get a Alert pop up(java script) showing the desired information . You can also put up a scrollable message in the masthead itself .
    2) If you want to put up a message in Page toolbar , then again you will have to customize its par . You can place a link there as well .
If you  place these messages in par , it means you will have to remove it every time from there and then redeploy on portal to bring these changes into effect . Instead you can also place these messages in portal database and query it to call it in the par files .

  • Firefox Browser Version 32 alerted me to an update which installs a gruesome malware plug-in

As a mac user, I have Firefox browser version 32 (for MacBook) installed on my Macbook Pro for at least a year. I get the browser updated every once in a while when Mozilla alerts me on any new versions releases. Today, I was alerted to an update on my current version 32. As soon as I clicked for update install, I realized that my browser is redirected to the legitimate website of Mozilla Foundation, however, the new update has a definite malware plug-in. I tried it three times, with twice at my own and once during my remote support session with Apple OS Support agent. As a user, I don't get much time on Mozilla website and moments after reaching this website, the URL is redirected to some "Conduit.....com..." with a super long URL that kind of hacks your browser. It leaves several entries in the registry and stops accessing any intended URL. Instead, it takes you to wherever the malware wants. Sometimes you see some malware "App Magic" and the like other unknown yet easily deceptive malware websites. Out of no choice, I finally had to clean my system and uninstall firefox. I am now waiting for Mozilla Firefox to take cognizance of this issue, have it resolved and notify me before I can actually do it. Btw, once I also saw a toll free no. starting with 1-855...... claiming to be Mozilla Support team who are aware of the issue and I should call them for customer support. Out of my high doubts, I did not trust it so never took a note of it any further. Mozilla needs to identify this breach and notify Firefox Mac users of whatever malware breach is occurring due to potentially a breached update version.

If this was a legitimate install from www.mozilla.org or update In Firefox then it did not come from Mozilla or with Firefox. No version of Firefox for Windows, Linux and Mac OSX from www.mozilla.org comes with any form of malware, viruses, adware, toolbars, bundled apps etc.
It would be a first if your claim is true.
You mentioned Conduit, well that is a known adware toolbar extensions company or business or whatever you want to call them though condiit.com seems to have changed to other things now.

  • Need to hide a toolbar using plug-in

I'm trying to create a plug-in that would customize the default toolbar which loads in acrobat. I know the methods to retrieve the toolbar n hide buttons individually. I tried this :
    const
    char * toolbarName= "Tasks" ;AVToolBar myToolBar = AVAppGetToolBarByName(toolbarName);
    AVToolButton mySecureButton = AVToolBarGetButtonByName(myToolBar,ASAtomFromString(
    "SecureTaskButton"));
    AVToolButtonRemove(mySecureButton);
    AVToolBarUpdateButtonStates(myToolBar);
However, when i opened acrobat, the button is still there. I tried changing SecureTaskButton to SecureTask. Didnt work either. But, when i put alert notes in between the codes the alert notes all seem to be working. Is there anything wrong with the code? And also is there a method i can call to hide the whole toolbar instead of hiding all the buttons individually? Please help.

This plug-in is for a corporate based project. The idea is to limit the control users have over the Electronic .pdf document loaded in a web browser. Thus the default toolbar which loads should only have selected buttons. And to prevent the user from adding more tools on their own, the context menu needs to be disabled as well.
I have tried using the customization wizard but i cannot figure out how it works exactly. And i cant seem to find any detailed documentation to help users manipulate the functions of the customization wizard.
For now i have removed most of the tools not needed from the default toolbar using my plug-in. But i still cannot remove some of them because their button names seem to be incorrect. For example, the secure button on the Tasks toolbar is called SecureTasksButton. I put an alert in the code to pop-up if no such button can be found. And when i run the plug-in all other buttons are removed except this 'Secure" button and the alert pop-ups. Do you have any solutions i can consider?

  • Shortcuts for Telephony Toolbar Buttons in IC WebClient release 5.2 (2006s)

    Hi.
Has anyone done Assigning hotkeys or shortcuts to Telephony Toolbar Buttons in IC WebClient release 5.2 (2006s)???
This function was possible in the previous release until 5.0 (WinClient) as “Function Key Assignment”.
And in CRM 5.2 we have a possibility to create shortcuts through “Personalize” User Interface, but not for Telephony Toolbar Buttons.
Thanks in advance for any help.
    BR.

    Hello BR,
The ability to use shortcut keys to access multi-channel toolbar buttons is available again with CRM 2007, but is unfortunately not available with CRM 2006s (CRM 5.1 and CRM 5.2). In CRM 2007 the Index page of the Interaction Center contains a linke called "IC Keyboard Shortcuts" that provide the following shortcut keys:
    Press ESC and Key
    All Channels
    + Ready
    - Not Ready
    1 Accept
    2 Reject
    9 End
    0 Dial Pad
    Phone
    3 Hold
    4 Retrieve
    5 Hang Up
    6 Transfer
    7 Consult
    8 Conference
    Chat
    3 Leave
    6 Transfer
    Press CTRL and Key

  • PixelsPerPx does not play nice with customizing the Toolbar.

I have a MacBook Pro and the screen has a very high number of pixels per cm^2. The screen is great, but the high pixel density often makes website text very small and hard to read.
So, I used about:config to edit <layout.css.devPixelsPerPx>. Setting it to 1.1 or 1.2 "dumbs down" the resolution, but it makes things readable again. This is a great option - please consider adding it to Preferences or otherwise making it easy to use.
Here is the problem: when I try to customize my toolbar (View > Toolbars > Customize), Firefox crashes.
If I reset <layout.css.devPixelsPerPx> to 1.0, then I can customize my toolbar with no crashing. Apparently the PixelsPerPx option seriously conflicts with View > Toolbars > Customize.

ok, so YOU have to avoid any 'eye candy' that is beyond the abilities of THEIR systems/browsers..
aside 'hard encoding' (=writing pure html manually.. pffffffff ) I would suggest the usual Rapidweaver.. it is CSS-based (=good looking) , but most templates (which you can modify for your needs & design) avoid Java, Flash etc. .. http://realmacsoftware.com/
I'm actually stumbling into the same discussion with my 'clients' = other parents from my son's soccer team, I switched from Rapidweaver Design to iWeb + fancy flash animation/navigation (old/RW vs. new/iWeb+BannerZest) .. some friends with older Windows system get an alert 'new flash required' for the navigation bar on the sub-pages...
not my problem, me web master..

  • Alert Monitor with exceptions in WAD

    Hi All,
I'm trying to use alert monitor in web application designer to show two queries with  red, green and yellow statuses. In my web template, I have inserted two queries in two tables (both queries have exceptions) and alert monitor as web item. In properties(context menu), I choose infocube on which these queries are build, marked the red, yellow, green status ,mentioned them in list of columns entry and checked the display toolbar entry.
When I execute , It shows the display of alert monitor drop down box with functions (from Info provider, info area, queries..etc) and alert boxes for red, yellow and green. If I check on red box and uncheck other boxes, still I'm seeing all records with other status as well. There is no change in the query result if I switch from red , green or yellow. And also I am not seeing how many rows of red , green or yellow alerts which i should as i have selected in the list of columns entry.
I've set the exceptions in Reporting Agent for these two queries also.
Any Idea why I'm not getting the functionality of alert monitor. Do I need to set up something for alert monitor to work in reporting agent or in alert management in order to use .Am i missing something in configuration
    Any ideas and solutions..
    Thanks in advance,

    LauQ,
Did you figure out the solution?? Is it something to do with the settings of exceptions in reporting agent. I strongly feel so, as the configuration for alert monitor is straight forward in WAD. There is a How to Guide document on..How to Intergrate BW reporting agent with Alert Framework. Did you have a look at it. I'm glancing it right now.. You can find in sdn.. May be that helps.. Please let me know if you get something... I'm still working on this issue..
    Thanks ,

Is there a "Safari Alert" phishing scam that asks you to call tech support at 844-877-7978

Yes, it's a scam. Do not call any phone number.
    Helpful Links Regarding Malware Problems
If you are having an immediate problem with ads popping up see The Safe Mac » Adware Removal Guide, remove adware that displays pop-up ads and graphics on your Mac, and AdwareMedic. If you require anti-virus protection Thomas Reed recommends using ClamXAV. (Thank you to Thomas Reed for this recommendation.) You might consider adding this Safari extensions: Adblock Plus 1.8.9.
Open Safari, select Preferences from the Safari menu. Click on Extensions icon in the toolbar. Disable all Extensions. If this stops your problem, then re-enable them one by one until the problem returns. Now remove that extension as it is causing the problem.
The following comes from user stevejobsfan0123. I have made minor changes to adapt to this presentation.
Fix Some Browser Pop-ups That Take Over Safari.
Common pop-ups include a message saying the government has seized your computer and you must pay to have it released (often called "Moneypak"), or a phony message saying that your computer has been infected, and you need to call a tech support number (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it resolved. First, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and your computer has not been affected. This "hijack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so do not pay any money, call the listed number, or provide any personal information. This article will outline the solution to dismiss the pop-up.
    Quit Safari
Usually, these pop-ups will not go away by either clicking "OK" or "Cancel." Furthermore, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in gray, including the option to quit Safari. You will likely have to force quit Safari. To do this, press Command + option + esc, select Safari, and press Force Quit.
    Relaunch Safari
If you relaunch Safari, the page will reopen. To prevent this from happening, hold down the 'Shift' key while opening Safari. This will prevent windows from the last time Safari was running from reopening.
This will not work in all cases. The shift key must be held at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window reappears. In these circumstances, after force quitting Safari, turn off Wi-Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then relaunch Safari normally. It will try to reload the malicious webpage, but without a connection, it won't be able to. Navigate away from that page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com, and trying to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet, and the page you entered will appear rather than the malicious one.

hello ewinsberg, please go to firefox > addons > extensions & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and do a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and/or a different tool like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes].
