Toolbar bugs

Bug #1: Customizing the file toolbar to add a "close standard" option does not retain the new icon I've added onto the toolbar after re-starting Multi-Sim. I'm not sure if other toolbar customizations are the same way or not. I think this is a bug because I haven't seen an option to NOT retain customizations after exiting (that seems to be not the point of customizing the GUI).
Bug #2: Toolbars don't 'go back' to the position they were in if the window gets resized, or if you're in the options and select large icons, and then de-select it. Selecting large icons spaces the toolbars at the minimum distance with the bigger icons and then when you de-select then all the icons are back to normal size but the toolbars are spaced out. Having to rearrange all of the toolbars when something happens to the window or whatnot shouldn't be necessary.

I was not able to replicate bug 1 in Multisim 10. Is this the same version you are using?
Can you try this procedure again and see if it works, there is a known issue (bug 2) were the toolbar changes occasionally and I was wondering if this is the same thing that is happening to you.

This seems to be an issue of semantics - when I say "Full screen photo editing (using the full screen for the photo with no compulsory sidebars)", I mean "Full screen photo editing (using the full screen for the photo with no compulsory sidebars)". When you use that phrase, you seem to mean "Not full screen photo editing (not being able to use the full screen for the photo with no compulsory sidebars)".
While you're perfectly free to define black as white, don't be surprised when it causes confusion. Let me spell it out for you as clearly as I can:
In iPhoto 09, you can use the full screen to see and edit your photo.
In iPhoto 11, you cannot.
That is a loss of functionality.
To be honest I have not looked at it in a couple of month - I am genuinely interested in whether the bugs in 11 have been fixed - I'm excited that they have fixed the 10 photo limit - that's certainly progress - the same for the side-by-side comparison editing - although I presume the toolbar bug is still present there?

MS 12.0.1 Crashed

I was working with a 6 sheet design where some of the sheets have hierarchical blocks. Only the main 6 sheets were open. Fortunately, I had just clicked save-all in the tool bar which seemed to go fine. Then I clicked close-all from the tool bar. It appeared that everything closed correctly, then it crashed.

BTW, I used Windows Snipping Tool to save the toolbar I had set up, then used info from a KB article to get the configuration file to go back to default, which wipes out all of the toolbar customizations, etc. (I would have linked to it from this post, but I can't seem to find it again.) Then I used the image from the Snipping Tool as a guide to rebuild my custom tool bar, and now seems to work OK with close-all in the tool bar.
I think there's a pattern to this that I've seen on successive MS versions. When MS crashes due to a customization of the tool bar, it's only after a customization has been made that follows a previous customization.
Background
I find the default setup of the multiple toolbars bugs me with the way they all stack up on one side. Seemed like I was often having to arrange the multiple toolbars out of a stack-up and into a line so as not to sacrifice too much schematic view area to toolbars. And, just as a personal preference I don't tend to use most of the buttons from the default toolbars, so just seems like clutter making it difficult to find the buttons I do want to use. But, that's why the MS developers made them customizable, which is nice. So I customize the toolbar area by creating my own single toolbar and fill the tool bar with some of the buttons from the various default tool bars, then add a few buttons from various menu functions whose buttons aren't displayed in the default tool bars. Then I uncheck (not delete) the default tool bars so they're not displayed. This makes for one simple continuous tool bar that doesn't have any of the stacking issues that the default multiple tool bar scenario does.
OK, Back to the pattern I was talking about...
As I work with MS, different client's designs require regular uses of some commands and feature while not so much of others. I typically customize the tool bar to help me get through a particular project. If I start with a fresh config file per the KB mentioned above, and customize the tool bar as mentioned above, it works fine for a good period of use, say weeks or months. After that, say another project comes up, if I customize it again, and one of the buttons on the tool bar causes MS to crash, it's always a button I've just added in the most recent customization.
When I recover from this by getting MS to set the config file back to default, I find I can always arrange the toolbar exactly as it was when the latest added button made MS crash, but everything will work fine.
perhaps to sum up, MS doesn't seem to tolerate successive customizations to the toolbar very well.

Did you know that Google toolbar doesn't work properly in FF rc1? I have filed a bug report to Google about this

The Google toolbar doesn't recognize a left mouse click when selecting a 'suggestion'. It's OK using the keyboard, however. I have filed a bug report with Google, but as this is an important extension thought you should know.

I'm having a display bug with the menu toolbar in Photoshop CS4 Extended. Notice the area of tools is gone and replaced by random pixels? This happens whenever I enter the fullscreen mode that hides the interface. And when I exit that fullscreen mode, that bug appears and doesn't fix itself until I restart Photoshop. Can this be fixed?
Image view rotation also happens much slower than normal in that fullscreen mode when interface is hidden. But performs normally after I bring back the interface.
I'm on WinXP, Athlon 64 4000+, 3GB ram, GeForce 6800 GT video card [driver 169.21]. I'm not sure if this is a video driver bug or CS4 bug.

Yeah, Dave, I can understand how that can happen. I've seen that sort of weirdness when I've seriously overtaxed my hardware.
 
 Had way too much running all at once yesterday, switched over to Firefox, and clicking on folders in the Bookmarks bar, I had 4 bookmark/folder menus dropped simultaneously.
 
 I managed to grab a screenshot with 2 of them showing, but man! You shoulda seen it with 4!
 
 I ESC'ed out, quit GarageBand (had a song project of several hundred MB going) and all was fixed.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Word 2011 for Mac Book pro - I have found that my cursor disappears sometimes when I click on a toolbar function. I found out it is a bug, that the Mac loses 'focus'. I can correct it temporarily by clicking on Format - Font - Cancel. Any info?

I have Word 2011 on a Mac Book Pro and have had problems with a dissapearing cursor - it makes editing tricky
After googling it I found out that there is a bug where the Mac loses focus if you click away from the document - it also does this with italics according to other users.
I had a play with it and found out that when I click on the toolbar in a document where this happens, the cursor disappears, e.g. changing font colour etc. And then, when I click on Format - Font - Cancel it returns

BTW (speaking as a Dad of 3 daughters in Grad school) if you don't already have and use a DropBox account, or some other similar online "cloud" based backup of your school documents, you should start doing so immediately. By keeping all of your important documents in the Dropbox folder on your computer, you have instant access to them from any other computer (or iPad), should you be w/o your computer while in for repairs (or if, God forbid, it is stolen). It's free for 2 GB of online storage, which is more than enough for a few years worth of Word documents, etc. (If you get other people to sign up via your email "invitation", then Dropbox gives you even more free storage space.) Every time you close a document, it is updated on the Dropbox servers (encrypted), if it is in the Dropbox folder (assuming you give it a few seconds to update before turning off your computer). Do a google search of "Cloud based storage comparisons" to compare the amount of free space each of the competing services give you.

Never had a problem with this in previous version of PS. Could something be set up or initialized to cause this state of affairs?

Change your document from Grayscale to RGB, or change the selected channel to the RGB data instead of a mask.

Downloads list bug when Toolbar is hidden

When I hide the Toolbar (to conserve space) I can't open the Downloads list neither from menu nor with a keyboard shortcut. When I temporarily show the Toolbar by pressing cmd + l and press the downloads button, the list pops up but then hides and scrolls the window up.
When I show the Toolbar permanently and click on the Downloads icon, the list appears partially in my screen's bottom left corner. This is definitely a bug but I don't know where to submit it.

When I view some canvas3d/webgl content, the toolbar is mirrored on the canvas. Is this a bug?

I'm experiencing a weird issue with canvas tags using webgl. When I open some pages with webgl, my top toolbar (back/forward buttons, awesome bar and all the rest) is mirrored in the bottom of the canvas element instead of showing the expected content. Focusing any other window causes the mirrored image to be replaced with the actual content.
I have tested this with several webgl pages, the problem only appears on some of them, and I have no idea why. An example page that does show the problem: http://alteredqualia.com/three/examples/webgl_cubes.html.
I have also tested this under a default profile with none of my addons installed, and still experienced the problem. I'm running Firefox 25, under OSX 10.6. Screenshot here: http://imgur.com/TZcABYN

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

Numerous bugs experienced: toolbar, tabs, new window

Here are some of the bugs I experienced in just a few hours with this clearly not ready for release version:
* Reload, stop loading and home buttons disappeared from toolbar
* Firefox no longer remembers the tabs I had open a previous session, nor does it issue the famous "Well, this is embarrassing..." message. They're just gone.
* I opened some new windows by holding down shift and clicking on a link. The window did not contain the contents of the linked site. And when I started Firefox again, each time it created one new window for each time I'd opened a new window. Right now, everytime I start Firefox 4, I get and must dismiss six blank windows.
* There is an extra title bar containing the orange Firefox menu, and extra minimize, maximize and exit buttons. The first two work normally; the exit button works only if more than one tab is open. It then dismisses the application.

Isn't it a pity the developers do not appear to have listened to them. They made changes for the sake of making changes - changes that aren't actually improvements, and they degraded the user experience for those long-time users.
I'll probably try it again around the end of the summer or so, when they've had a chance to shake some of these bugs out of it. Right now, it's just not useful or reliable enough for me.

How to fix panelCollection toolbar buttons layout in Chrome [BUG]

The bug is here for years.
I've got a panelCollection with a toolbar and a number of toolbar buttons in it.
In IE/Firefox it's all fine.
In Google Chrome some buttons get randomly hidden after PPRs. One can only tab to them.

Tried once.
About a year ago. Got an answer like "Google should fix their bugs themselves".
Should try another one time.
Is there any workaround? I can't be the only person with this problem.

In Google Chrome right-hand toolbar buttons get hidden after table row selection or left links click (on PPR).
Found the answer at once. ADF conflicts with Chrome AdBlock extension.
