Toolbar button for a calculator?

My client says that on her last computer, she had a button on the Acrobat toolbar that would open a calculator.  It may have been Acrobat X or Xi.  She is now using Xi, and I can't find an option for that.  Does anyone know how to make that happen?

You probably mean this interesting little tool.  It's actually a PDF file and could be setup to open from a toolbar button if you so desired.

  • Toolbar Button for "Add to Index"

    I make CHM (context-sensitive help) using RH8. My SME wants an index (it's quite heavy technical stuff) and I add index keywords by:
    * select text in the topic,
    * right-click,
    * Add to > Index Keyword > ProjectName.
    If I could make a toolbar button for this I could let my SME create the index himself.
    Is there a way of creating a custom toolbar button in RH8? Alternatively, is it possible to carry out the above procedure using the keyboard (no mouse)?

    --- Derek

    Yes, this button, or preferably a consistent keyboard shortcut, would be most helpful.
    In RH versions 5 and 6, you could highlight the keywords, right click, and then tap 2 or 3 keys on the keyboard and the words were tagged into the index. Easy to learn and very quick indeed; you could do it automatically, without thinking.
    Then the programmers got "clever" and dynamically changed the keyboard shortcuts depending on where you were / what you highlighted in the topic, so that for many right-click-menu functions, the shortcuts needed different keystrokes each time; and sometimes you couldn't use the keyboard shortcuts at all. You now have to stop and read the right-click menu carefully every time, and we're back to using the mouse.
    (Imagine doing the index for, say, 390 topics, with 10-20 keywords per topic. And they make us use a mouse?)
    Shortcuts are faster! (Imagine driving a car by using a mouse?)
    Perhaps it needs some kind of macro facility?

  • Toolbar buttons for minimizing, closing apps are grey

    I had the public beta 6 version of Yosemite installed on my Macbook Pro (15 inch, early 2008). After the release of the final version yesterday, I have done a complete installation. But the three buttons on top left corner (close, minimize, full screen) are not colored for most of the apps (except iTunes). They remain grey. And they were grey in the beta version too. Is there a way to get the colored buttons(red, orange, green) back on my app windows?

    Apologies if this is obvious, but have you got the Graphite Appearance option selected?
    Go to System Preferences > General and look at the Appearance line: the option Graphite gives you grey buttons, Blue gives you the normal coloured buttons.

  • Accessing Internal Names for ToolBar Buttons

    Hi,
    I'm trying to access three toolbar buttons [Movie Tool, 3D Tool, and TouchUp Object Tool]. In order for me to execute these toolbar buttons I need to know their corresponding internal names.
    There is a general list of Toolbar Buttons [such as Advanced Editing, Tools, File, ...] in the Developer Guide, but again it did not mention anything about the three above.
    If anyone could help me out as to what the internal names of Movie, 3D, and TouchUp Tools, I would really appreciate it.
    I'm developing an application in C++ using OLE to Remotely control Adobe Acrobat 3D. So I need to access these specific toolbar buttons for my application.
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi miniCooper,
    Here are a couple resources for you that provide how to create easier to digest reports listing Acrobat's Menu Item and Toolbar button names-
    1.
    This page has a free tool for creating a report with the names in an easy to read format -scroll down to the item "Menu Item and Toolbar button Report Generator."
    2. This article
    Executing Acrobat Menu Items from JavaScript describes how to list Menu Item names but you can substitute app.listToolbarButtons in place of app.listMenuItems to get results for toolbar buttons instead.
    Hope this helps,
    Dimitri

  • Change the position of toolbar buttons in RoboHelp 9 (WebHelp)

    Hi,
    I have been trying to create a custom skin for my webhelp output. I am able to specify the toolbar background image. However, the text in the image is being hidden by the toolbar buttons (Contents, Index, Serach, etc buttons). Is there any way to alter the position of the toolbar buttons (for example, lowering these buttons) so that the text in the image is displayed clearly?
    I would be glad to know of any work-around to this problem.
    Thanks!

    Hello again
    After I replied I noticed you had replied to two other threads. Really old threads. You basically asked the same question twice about how to resize images.
    As you are new here you likely don't understand the "rules of the road" so to speak. So it would be helpful to you to take a few moments and read through the thread I'm linking below. We put it together to help new folks.
    Click here to view
    As for how to change those button images, you do that using another application that manipulates images. SnagIt, PhotoShop, Windows Paint, GIMP,  Paint Shop Pro, Etc.

  • Add to Favorites Toolbar Button

    I am trying to add a toolbar button (for webhelp output) for a client to use that will add the current page to the user's IE Favorites list. I have used the script from Rick Stone's Skinny On Skins "Toolbar button to add items to the Favorites list" topic, but I get a javascript error when trying to execute the button in the toolbar.
    Here is the code I'm copying from Rick's Skinny on Skins ...
    javascript:window.external.AddFavorite(parent.frames[1].bsscright.location,paren t.frames[1].bsscright.document.title);
    Any help would be welcomed!

    Wow. A reply for such an old thread :-)
    The problem here is not a space, but that browsers work differently with favorites/bookmarks and don't always support it through JavaScript. If anyone is looking at this thread, here are two solutions:
    - WebHelp buttons: http://www.wvanweelden.eu/product/webhelp-pro-toolbar-scripts
    - WebHelp favorites: http://www.wvanweelden.eu/product/favorites-widget-webhelp

  • Where is the new tab toolbar button in firefox 6x

    in firefox 4.x there is a toolbar button for new tab, where is the button in firefox 6.x?
    can this be downloaded as a add-on or theme?

    You can find the New Tab button showing as a '+' on the Tab bar.
    You can open the Customize window and drag the New Tab button that shows as a plus sign (+) from the Tab bar on another toolbar and it will become a regular toolbar button like the New Tab button that you have in Firefox 3 versions.
    If you can't find the New Tab button then click the "Restore Default Set" button in the Customize window.
    If you want the New Tab button at the far right end of the Tab bar then place a flexible space to the left of it.

  • Flash Paper Toolbar Buttons

    I use Flash Paper 2 regularly to print documents from
    Microsoft Access. In Word and Excel there is a toolbar button for
    Flash Paper but none in Access, and there is nothing available in
    the list of tools to add to a custom Access toolbar.
    Is there any way to get a toolbar button for Flash Paper in
    other applications such as Access?
    Thanks

    Thanks Urami! This worked. However, there is still one set of
    buttons that still don’t work. These buttons are programmed
    to open a new window that is a specific size and has all the
    toolbars and menu bars turned off. The html page that opens in the
    window contains an swf file that runs a video.
    Again, it works perfectly over the Internet or when I test
    the html page from Dreamweaver on my PC, but the window will not
    open when the button is pressed if the program is running from a
    CD.
    This program was originally created with Studio MX 2004 with
    Flash Professional. With that version, the CD worked on Windows
    2000 PCs but not Windows XP. We re-published the entire program
    with Flash Professional 8. Once I fixed the file names as you
    suggested, everything works except the buttons that open a child
    window. Now these buttons in the Version 8 program don’t work
    on a CD running on Windows 2000 either.
    Here is the code that I have in Flash movie for the button:
    on (release) {
    getURL("javascript:newWindow('videowin_turnassist.html')");
    Here is the code that I have in the html document:
    function newWindow(bookgif) {
    bookWindow = window.open(bookgif, 'bookWin',
    'toolbar=no,location=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,width=400,height=425')
    bookWindow.focus()
    I got this html code out of a reference book several years
    ago and we use it all the time to open child windows from parent
    windows.
    I tried other code that I got out of an ActionScript book and
    from the Help files, but I can’t get any of it to work at all
    (not even from Dreamweaver).
    Do you have any other suggestions for opening a specifically
    sized child window that will run a Flash movie?
    TIA
    Diane

  • Toolbar buttons work in preview, not in generated webhelp

    I'm using RH 8.0.2 to generate webhelp.
    I took advantage of a few snippets from Peter Grainge's site and have 3 new toolbar buttons for my project:
    Here's where I need help.
    1. Report an Issue links to a sharepoint site on our network.  The link works fine, but displays inside the topic frame.  What is the proper Inline JavaScript to open the sharepoint page in a new window?  For ease of reply, say the link is http://www.mysite.com/issues/default.aspx
    2. Send link by Email sometimes creates a draft email when I click it in the preview pane, but I haven't figured out the reproducible conditions.  It doesn't seem to work in the generated files however. A similar issue seems to occur for the Copy Link to Clipboard button - sometimes works in preview, but not in generated webhelp.
    Notes:
    The Javascript I used for Send Link by Email, from Grainge's snippet 39, is:
    window.location=('mailto:[email protected]?Subject=Useful Information&body=This page might be useful to you: ' + window.parent.frames[1].frames[1].document.title +' ' + escape(window.parent.frames[1].frames[1].document.location))
    Note, this script throws an error as you preview, 'window.parent.frames.1.frames.1.document is null or not an object.
    The Javascript I used for Copy Link to Clipboard, from Grainge's snippet 114, is:
    function CopyURL()
    var myHerf=parent.frames[1].bsscright.location;
    var title=parent.frames[1].bsscright.document.title;
    if(window.clipboardData)
    var tempCurLink=title + "\n" + myHerf;
    var ok=window.clipboardData.setData('Text',tempCurLink);
    alert("Press Ctrl + V to Paste the link in your email");
    Any help appreciated!

    Hi there
    When you visited the page where you downloaded, I'm guessing you failed to also take a look at the link on the page designed to help with this?

  • How to get "Selected" color for custom toolbar buttons?

    RH 8.0.2.208
    RoboHelp HTML
    WebHelp output
    I'm getting flack from internal QA folks about the custom toolbar buttons not having the same "selected" color as the default buttons (Contents, Index). I've copied the background color info from the <btnselected></btnselected> section for the built-in Contents to the <btnselected></btnselected> section for a custom toolbar button, but RH is ignoring it.
    Any hints?
    Leon

    You could try using the raw converter. Open one file and edit it (File>Open, pick the image and choose Camera Raw as the format before you click Open). Then open the next image and click the little four-lined square on the upper right side of the ACR window and choose Previous Conversion from the flyout menu.

  • Toolbar button/hotkey for "show cover page in two page view" in Acrobat X?

    In Acrobat X, how about make a toolbar button/hotkey for "show cover page in two page view"?  I find toggling this option to be useful for changing up the order of adjacent pages in magazines/books in which a two page spread has to match for a full large picture.  Due to frequent toggling, I would like a button/hotkey for this for easier access.

    Hotkeys for existing menu items are not modifiable, but you can add a scripted button which toggles it with the following code:
    if (layout.substr(-5)=="Right") layout = layout.replace("Right","Left");
    else layout = layout.replace("Left","Right");
    For info on how to add a button with a folder-level script, see the Acrobat SDK documentation. Scripted buttons will appear in a new panel on the tools pane in Acrobat X, not on the tool bar.

  • Shortcuts for Telephony Toolbar Buttons in IC WebClient release 5.2 (2006s)

    Hi.
    Has anyone done Assigning hotkeys or shortcuts to Telephony Toolbar Buttons in IC WebClient release 5.2 (2006s)???
    This function was possible in the previous release until 5.0 (WinClient) as “Function Key Assignment”.
    And in CRM 5.2 we have a possibility to create shortcuts through “Personalize” User Interface, but not for Telephony Toolbar Buttons.
    Thanks in advance for any help.
    BR.

    Hello BR,
    The ability to use shortcut keys to access multi-channel toolbar buttons is available again with CRM 2007, but is unfortunately not available with CRM 2006s (CRM 5.1 and CRM 5.2). In CRM 2007 the Index page of the Interaction Center contains a linke called "IC Keyboard Shortcuts" that provide the following shortcut keys:
    Press ESC and Key
    All Channels
    + Ready
    - Not Ready
    1 Accept
    2 Reject
    9 End
    0 Dial Pad
    Phone
    3 Hold
    4 Retrieve
    5 Hang Up
    6 Transfer
    7 Consult
    8 Conference
    Chat
    3 Leave
    6 Transfer
    Press CTRL and Key

  • Shortcuts for Telephony Toolbar Buttons in IC WebClient 7.0

    Hi, experts!
    I have a requirement to customize shortcuts for keys to access multi-channel toolbar buttons. Couldn't you tell me where can I find this customizing? Or what is the transaction code for this customizing?
    Thanks in advance,
    Fanil.

    Hi Fanil,
    You can maintain the Toolbar settings in the below path.
    SPRO>CRM>IC Webclient>Basic Functions>Define Tool Bar profile (Or use the existing one if suits for your requirement).
    Assign the defined Toolbar profile to your Business role, Ex If you are using IC Agent Business Role run Transaction code CRMC_UI_PROFILE (Customer Relationship Management  Interaction Center WebClient  Define Business Roles), select the IC_Agent Business role and assign the defined Tool bar profile in assign function profile (Function profile id is WBAR).
    Hope this solves your issue.
    Thanks

    Hi again Limons,
    just got your last reply per mail, re: 'presently only available in the USA.'
    Unfortunately, you're right. Just found this article: http://www.digitalmusicnews.com/stories/061011icloud
    seem like it's going to be a while before this gets sorted out . . .
    Frustrating outcome to my question, but thanks a lot for helping me sort out what the problem was :-)
