Toolbar in Acrobat 3d Extended cannot be hidden!

I have the problem that the toolbar in the 3d pdf is always present. I cannot hide it though i made the a deactivation in the setup.
In Acrobat 3d 8 it works but not in the new extended 9 version.
It would be great if the Adobe employyes could fix that bug quickly and send me a file or release an update!

Is this happening during the creatin process or during the viewing process? The feature works fine for me either way. I uncheck the "Show 3D Toolbar by default" checkbox in the Acrobat 3D Conversion dialog's "General" tab and the toolbar is not displayed when I activate the 3D annotation. If I have a 3D annot that was created using the default setting, "Show 3D Toolbar by default" is checked, then I can right click on the 3D annot and go to Tools > Hide 3D Toolbar and the toolbar is heidden. It does appear that the Preference to always hide the toolbar in the Edit > Preferences... dialog is hosed. Is this where you are accessing the setting?

Cannot see shared comments in Acrobat Pro Extended

If I use Adobe Reader 10 to look at a shared review PDF, I can see a screen asking me to CONNECT. And when the PDF is open, I can see all the comments with the "Check for new comments" button at the top left side of the PDF file.
Now they installed Acrobat Pro Extended for me the other day. When I open the same review PDF in Pro Extended, I do not see the CONNECT screen, and I do not see any comments. What's wrong with Pro Extended? Why is it not working? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Ok. Perhaps the option 'Check for updates' has been blocked by your IT department. Ask them to get the patch for you if you dont find an option.
As far as seeing the comments in the review is concerned, if it is a review file, you should be getting a yellow bar when you open it in Acrobat/Reader. If you dont see it on opening the review file, or you dont get the Connect/Welcome dialogs, probably it is no longer a shared review file. Try with some other review files and see if you can get it working.

How do I edit a pdf document in adobe acrobat 9 extended?

I tried to edit a seachable pdf file in adobe acrobat 9
extended and it wont work. It just highlights the word but won't
let me delete it and change it. Any ideas? I thought I tired

Acrobat Pro Extended 9.3.1 - Can't use "Send for Shared Review"

After the last update for Acrobat Pro Extended, I cannot send RoboHelp PDF generated documents for shared reivew. I used to be able to send draft reviews of the help (in PDF) using our public shared drive. The error indicates: "The filename you specified is not valid because it does not include a .pdf extension, contains one or more invalid characters or the path preceding it refers to a protected system location." I have not changed any of the items mentioned in the error and yet after the last software release update to the 9.3.1, the share review option is not working. Has anyone run into this issue and can help with pointers?

I am surprised the patch allowed you to update from AA9.0.0 to 9.3.1 directly. Almost all patches (updates) for Acrobat are incremental and they must be installed in sequence. I suspect this it true for AA9 also, but I could be wrong.
I suspect it was the jump that is causing the problem. I would suggest you reinstall AA9 (you may have to be careful about activating and deactivating so you do not lose your number of license installs). Once you are back to AA9.0.0, then either use the "Check for Updates" or download all of the updates and install them in order. You may have to reboot after some of the changes. It looks like you have 7 updates to go through. Folks have complained about the updates not being cummulative for years, don't expect things to change.

Acrobat Pro Extended to Inventor 2010 Issues

I purchased Acrobat Pro Extended last night in order to make some 3D PDFs for a sales trip TOMORROW and I cannot get this to work. I have updated APE to version 9.2.0 like one post suggested but it is still not working properly.
I can create some models from inventor files but only those that are one assembly file with a few parts. If I try to create a model from an inventor file that has a "top level assembly" (Inventor Term) with several "sub assemblies" I get one of three things:
1.) I get a 3D pdf that has only loaded the last of the three sub assemblies in the file (only on certain models)
2.) I get this message "Conversion Error" followed by this message "Acrobat could not open <file name> because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)"
3.) I get this message "Exception has been raised" followed by this message "Acrobat could not open <file name> because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)"
I am in deep trouble here and need to get this working if you all could be so kind. I did not wait until the last minute I was unfortunately told to prepare this yesterday, sorry for the urgency.

I had problems until it updated to 9.2, then all went OK.
I've created 3D parts, assemblies and assemblies containing assemblies from IV 2010 files (see attached).

Acrobat Pro Extended 9.0.0 Admin Install Update

I am trying to update our deployment of Acrobat Pro Extended 9.0.0 to the latest patch, 9.1.3.
We are not deploying the updates via Group Policy, as our deployment of Acrobat Pro is "on demand", therefore I initially wish to update the administrative installation point.
I feel it important to point out that our software was downloaded from the Adobe Licensing site, and is not copied off any CD/DVD media.
My basic process here is:
Download the patch files for Acrobat Pro Extended for Windows, from Adobe:
AcroProExUpd910_all_incr.msp (no longer easily found on Update site as downloadable at the time of this post)
AcrobatUpd911_all_incr.msp
AcrobatUpd912_all_incr.msp
AcrobatUpd913_all_incr.msp
Of which, based on the article at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/498/cpsid_49880.html I understand that:
9.1.0 is a quarterly update
9.1.1 is a security update
9.1.2 is a quarterly update
9.1.3 is a security update (assumed, as it came out in the wake of current security fixes)
Therefore, I think I need to update my AIP to 9.1.0, then to 9.1.2 (acceptable according to the release notes for this patch) and then to 9.1.3, thus completing my task.
My problem comes from running the patches on the AIP. Normally I use a customised installation, but to rule that out, I am ONLY using the downloaded software - no local customisations applied using the Adobe Customisation Wizard.
Patching the 9.0.0 version to 9.1.0 using msiexec /a Acro3D.msi /p AcroProExUpd910_all_incr.msp WORKS! Setup completes, no errors.
Patching the 9.1.0 version to 9.1.2 using msiexec /a Acro3D.msi /p AcrobatUpd912_all_incr.msp FAILS! Setup reports a missing file in the Data1.cab, interop.adobepdfmakerx.dll. Google search reveals unlikely sources to download this missing file.
Patching cannot continue, as 9.1.2 is a pre-requisite to 9.1.3. I have the same problem with applying 9.1.1, though the above KB article made me ignore trying to get that to work.
Does anyone have any advice where I am going wrong?

UPDATE:
After more digging around, it seems that the 9.1.x updates are only for Pro and Standard, whereas the 9.1 update is explicitally for the Pro Extended product.
All 4 patches will patch an "installed" version of the Acrobat Professional Extended product, however the 9.1.2 update will not patch the administrative installation point, presumably because of the different version (Pro or Standard patch, not Pro Extended patch), resulting in the error of the missing file.
The Adobe Security Bulletin clearly says the patches are available for Standard, Professional and Extended, yet the patches dont seem to work! This is just nuts!

I ahve a new Acrobat Pro Extebded
9.0.0 and I am running windows 7. I cant
update anything and when I go into the help menu and select the updates it tells me I am
not on line etc.
I have tried and downloaded the updates and just cant install as it tells me the programme is missing etc etc.
All I want is a programme that works and i cant be done with all the tech talk as all i am is a user and run programmes that do the job. can any one advice what I can do next with out have to be a programmer.

Acrobat Pro Extended v9.0, where can I find update v9.1?

I have Acrobat Pro Extended v9.0 and I am installing it on my new computer Windows 8 because my old one crashed. I am looking for the update to go to Acrobat Pro Extended v9.1 so I can continue with the updates that follow. Every time I look for the update v9.1 does not seem to exist. I find the updates after v9.1 like v9.1.1 but I cannot install them unless I first install v9.1. Can anyone help? Thank you.

Acrobat Pro Extended feature questions

Hi,
I am testing Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended to evaluate usability within the company I work for. During my testing, I have run across some questions about Pro Extended functionality. I would appreciate any information or suggestions you may have regarding these questions. Thanks in advance!
1. Adobe 3D Reviewer in Pro Extended experiences a run time error and exits when attempting to delete a part (subassembly) from the model tree using the "delete" menu option on the right mouse context menu of the model tree item. This occurs in both .u3d files and .pdf files. Is this a known issue, limitation or is there a fix for attempting to delete parts from a model? (perhaps a problem on my installation?)
2. I have used 3D comments on a 3D model and they are very useful since they are "anchored" to particular locations on the part/assembly being commented on. Can the comment text box itself be resized? Can the font size used for the 3D comment be resized? Once created, can 3D comments be edited in either Pro Extended or 3D Reviewer?
3. The model tree in 3D models is useful for viewing/hiding parts of a 3D model. Do the plus signs (+) used to traverse the model tree have an "Expand All" option or must every + sign be clicked to traverse subassemblies (these can be numerous!). This may not be a supported feature. Is there any plan for it?

Here are some answers that should help in your evaluation:
1) i believe you are still using a beta version. this bug has been fixed in the released version. you can find a trial version at the following location:

2) yes the 3D comment box can be resized by clicking in the upper left corner and dragging the mouse or moved to a different location by clicking in the lower right corner and dragging the mouse.
yes you can change the size/color of the 3D comment text by going to Edit>Preferences, clicking on Measuring (3D) and changing the settings: Measure Feedback Size, 3D Measuring Line Color
once created, you cannot edit the 3D comment text anymore.
3) there is no Expand All option in Acrobat/Reader.

Acrobat 9 Extended no Printer Icon under Printers in Windows 7 x64

I know there are some problems with Acrobat 9 and x64 editions of Windows. I installed for testing purpose Acrobat 9 Extended on Windows 7 x64 but there is no printer Icon listed under "Devices and Printers" in Control Panel.
I can make a PDF in Internet Explorer with the convert to PDF Icon but in Firefox and other programs there is no Adobe PDF listed under Printers.
How do I create manually a PDF icon under Printers?
this problem is only for Windows 7 x64 and under the 32bit editions everything work fine.

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\Device.
We can use process monitor to view what issue cause the registry key reset.
There is a scenarios for your reference:
One or more network printer connection under
HKCU\Printers\Connections\<NetworkPrinterSubkey>
are missing the "Server" registry key.
Resolution:
Start Regedit.exe
Export HKCU\Printers\Connections to have a backup of the key
View the network printer registry subkeys under HKCU\Printers\Connections if on the right hand side it is missing the registry value "Server" then delete the Network Printer subkey under HKCU\Printers\Connections
Longer Term Solution: Remove the bad Network Printer Share from the server and/or update the print driver on the print server.
>>GPMC.log is just to evaluate if there are some policy cause the Default Printer reset.
>>Event Viewer is a User Interface to find the possible problem convenient.

CS4 & Acrobat Pro Extended 9 updates not working.

I just purchased a new HP Laptop running Win 8.1 64bit. After installing CS4 & Acrobat 9 I cannot get the Adobe Update manger to work. It either fails (crashes) or tells me there are no updates available. I tried installing a new version of update mgr but it fails to install. I have tried downloading 9.5.5 update for Windows but it fails also telling me I do not have that version on my system. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the original software, all to no avail. Any suggestions would be appreciated. BTW I also have a new Dell 8.1 64bit running the same software and it updated fine. ????

ich habs zwar schon auf Englisch geschrieben, aber hier nochmal in Deutsch...
ich brauche ein Patch o.ä. damit ich in Acrobat 9 extended das RH Format importieren kann.
in Acrobat 8 ging das wegen dem toolbar ( deep exploration)...
Das 3ds Format und obj-Format sind nicht der Bringer wenn ich in 3ds Max exportiere, Lichter werden nicht erkannt, etc...
Man kann die 9ner Version downgraden wenn man eine mehrfach lizenz besitzt ( 25,-).
Ein RH-Patch, Plugin o.ä. wäre natürlich viel praktischer!

Right Hemisphere has a free program, Deep View, which will read .rh files, and can be used to get a model into pdf format, using Microsoft Office products such as PowerPoint, and Acrobat Pro. It doesn't actually require Pro Extended to work, just Acrobat Pro, but having Pro Extended shouldn't be a problem. The Deep View shows up as a plugin within the PowerPoint interface, and allows you to import models into a PowerPoint slide, then publish the PowerPoint to pdf. More info is available on the right hemisphere website about Deep View. This all is within a Windows environment, and is supposed to work with other Office applications in addition to PowerPoint
I haven't used the Deep View pdf conversion capability extensively, as I'm exploring the Deep Exploration method instead.

I had the Norton ID safe on a toolbar. I got a message saying that toolbar was unsafe. I clicked on yes to remove it. Now I want a new toolbar for it and I cannot find how to do that Please help?

I had a message come up that my Norton Identity Safe toolbar was corrupting my computer. There were more things than just that in the message. I told them to remove it by my clicking yes. I since have tried to download a new safer toolbar from Norton. I cannot get the toolbar back no matter what I do. I have tried everything. Going on Norton website has not helped. I do what they tell me to and I get nowhere. Please help because there was a lot of information on that and it helped with passwords to different websites that I visited.

I called Apple Support and they walked me through it. They told me to basically copy and paste my music to the external hard drive. (I think.) Or maybe it was they had me transfer a folder to the EHD. I don't exactally remember it was a few years back. But I tried to plug in the EHD before starting and...nothing. You can not do that using Adobe Acrobat 9. Adobe never made a create PDF add-on for Firefox for use with Adobe Acrobat 9. They created a Firefox add-on for use with Acrobat X, but currently that one does not work with Firefox 4 though Adobe are working on an update.

Embedding video in PDF, keeps says it cant convert and need Acrobat Pro Extended?

I have Acrobat Pro 9 and with using the tool to embed video which seems to convert to a flash format, it keeps coming back saying its unable to convert and that I would need Acrobat Pro Extended. I tried a handfull of different video types and every one that I chose gave me the same message. All it will seem to do is somehow link to the video whcih will use the viewer installed on that persons computer to run. It seems to give you the ability to convert video over but it doesnt let you for anything you choose, what am I doing wrong?
I have Acrobat Pro 9 Extended at work which I tried the same thing with and of course, that worked. Is the Extended part by any chance just a patch for Pro 9 or is it a totally different purchase?

Looks like the following general observations apply.
If the multmedia file(s) meet the identified requirements for Professional it is "in".
If the multimedia file(s) do not, then conversion is required - but conversion is only available in Pro Extended.
That you get a "need conversion" message, from Pro that would be indicative of an input that does not meet the specified requirements for direct use in Pro.
An alternative might be to try "Create Legacy ..."
Legacy multimedia will rely on the end-user having the appropriate player application installed.
