Toolbar not complete. Missing back/forward arrows, edit, tools icons, etc and view is gone
The toolbar is missing imp components: File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Help
The back and forward arrows are also missing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
* In Firefox 3.6 versions on Windows and Firefox 4 on Windows and Linux it's possible to hide the "Menu Bar" via "View > Toolbars" or via the right-click context menu of a toolbar.
* Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
* Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the "Menu Bar" or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide (click on an entry to toggle the state).

[email protected]If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key, that should make the menu bar appear.
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
* If items are missing then open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
* If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar
* If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up.

My interface -- buttons (back, forward, reload), firefox tab, groups, etc. -- does not look like the sample on your "firefox features" page. ("Groups" seems not to function at all.) I'm running the current firefox 4 download on Windows XP. Can you help?

Thank you for your swift reply. I don't know that this has helped me, as I've reached my level of tolerance for fooling with this annoying little problem - for today anyway. It has been going on since I "up" graded to Firefox 4. My wife is running 3.6.x on her laptop with none of this foolishness. As BLASPHEMOUS as it may sound, I've gone back to IE for the time being even though I don't like it 1000th as much as I do Firefox.
Not just to rant here, I would say that I found a way to put some buttons on the right side of the toolbar that immediately gave me permission to "back, forward, and reload", but upon closing the browser and going out for dinner with the wife, I find on return that not only are those buttons NOT still on the toolbar, but I can't find them anymore. I think they were in "add-ons" found under I believe Add-On Manager.
I did also manage to achieve back/forward functionality running Firefox in SAFE mode, but this meant no No-Script, among other things, and I've grown too fond of that particular little script to give it up.
I've rebooted, restored, and reinstalled, can't get this formerly completely reliable program to work like it always has. Before looking around on here, I was beginning to think it was my PC.

How do I add back/forward arrows?
They should appear on the Navigation Toolbar before the address box. If that bar is missing, you could try to restore it this way:
View menu > Toolbars > ''check'' Navigation Toolbar
If you have the orange Firefox button (abbreviated menus), tap the Alt key to display the classic menu bar and access the full View menu.
If they are actually missing from the Navigation Toolbar, you can use the customize feature to drag them from the button palette back to the bar. (View menu > Toolbars > Customize)
Or, if you don't mind losing other toolbar customizations, you can reset all the toolbars back to their default icons. The easiest way to do that is to use Firefox's Safe Mode.
I recommend backing up your Firefox settings first in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)

Why do the back/forward arrows no longer work - they are grayed out?
When I start a new Firefox window or tab the back/forward arrows do not work and are grayed out. I can get previous sites by right click. I also get an orange "Firefox" dropdown tab in the upper left corner. It appears as though I have a Firefox window on top of a regular window.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Spry Image Slideshow with Filmstrip IE8 Play/Back/Forward Arrows Problem
Please help me. I'm using the Spry Image Slideshow with Filmstrip widget on my web page: http://new.radcal.com/accugold2.html#sensoroptabs. In Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer 9 it displays properly but in Internet Explorer 8 the gray Play/Back/Forward Arrows automatically appear on the Viewport (main large slide area) when the page loads and they do not go away, ever. Whereas in the other browsers these arrows only show up when I move my mouse into the viewport area and go away as soon as I take my mouse off the viewport area.
I need the arrows to behave in IE8 like they do in IE9, Firefox, etc. I do not know javascript but I imagine there is some javascript code that could solve this problem. Does anyone know of a solution? Please help me...At the top of your document you have

For the past several days, I have been getting this message during backups:
Time Machine could not complete the back up. The backup disk image "Volumes/Data/bhoppy2's iMac.sparsebundle" could not be accessed (error-1). When I click on the 'help' icon on the message, it reverts to a blank page, and I cannot find anything online regarding the term 'sparsebundle.' In addition, I cannot access previous backups any longer.

I downloaded Safari 5.1 onto Mac OS 10.6.8 some time ago. Yesterday the back/forward arrows next to the url window changed to a +, which adds the current url as a bookmark. I want the arrows back. What happened, and how can I fix this? Thanks. kammro

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Wait a few minutes
Push the power cord back into the back of the Time Capsule
See if the Time Capsule will back up now
