Toolbars on Lion Fullscreen for pages

Lion Fullscreen for pages does not have toolbars at the top of the screen (the format  bar shows up if you mouse up to the top).  Fullscreen for Numbers and Keynote do have both toolbars standard at the top.  How do I make Pages show toolbars like numbers and keynote in the Lion Fullscreen mode?

Both apps behave the same.
So, if a feedback is filed for Numbers, it will behave like one filed for Pages.
But,
for the pleasure :
Go to "Provide Keynote Feedback" in the "Keynote" menu,
describe what you wish.
Then, cross your fingers, and wait at least for iWork'11 or 12 ;-)
Go to "Provide Numbers Feedback" in the "Numbers" menu,
describe what you wish.
Then, cross your fingers, and wait at least for iWork'11 or 12 ;-)
Go to "Provide Pages Feedback" in the "Pages" menu,
describe what you wish.
Then, cross your fingers, and wait at least for iWork'11 or 12 ;-)

  • ICloud for pages app not working on network users having home folder on Mac Mini Lion server

    Does anyone know how to make iCloud for pages work on network users having home folder on server, having home folder on local Client iCloud for Pages works fine but when home folder is on Server iCloud for Pages app does not work. My Clients are Running Mountain Lion 10.8.2, my Server is a Mac Mini Lion Server.

    Hi Tim,
    No fix yet, my home folders reside on a thunderbolt external hard drive, I also tested having home folders on default server HD and no changes, I called Apple Support a while ago, they replicated the issue, it just does not work on network users, they did not say when will it be fix.
    The version of Pages I am using is from the Apple Store.

  • How do I show the bookmarks toolbar while in fullscreen on Firefox 20? In older versions you could edit the userChrome.css file. Does that still exist?

    After searching for this option, it appears it was very easy to do in older versions of firefox on windows 7. Many posts say you can edit the userChrome.css file to add:
    #PersonalToolbar[moz-collapsed="true"] {
    visibility: visible !important;
    However, on 2 machines with firefox 20, I've searched for that file and cannot find it. Does it even exist any more? if not, how can I set firefox to go to fullscreen mode and continue to show the bookmarks toolbar? Unchecking hide toolbars does not work for the bookmarks toolbar.

    userChrome.css does not exist by default. You can create it; it's an ordinary text file. Note that you do need a namespace at the beginning of the file.
    You could try this:
    @namespace url(http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul);
    #PersonalToolbar[moz-collapsed="true"]{
    visibility: visible !important;
    #navigator-toolbox[inFullscreen="true"]{
    margin-top:-62px !important;
    I added the second rule to prevents the toolbar area from rolling all the way up. The specific value may need to be adjusted by a few pixels depending on your toolbar heights.

  • No Fullscreen in Pages (iPad 1.6)?

    Is it no longer possible to make the toolbar disappear so that a page can be viewed in fullscreen mode? Why would apple remove this option?

    Just figured out that I have the same problem. I had forgotten that it was possible previously to have Full Screen in Pages on the iPad.
    Bummer
    Also I don't like how I have to insert a TAB now in this update.   More combursome when you need to TAB 2-3 times in the same spot

  • Does Mountain Lion come with Pages?

    I recently purchased a new 27" iMac from Best Buy with the i5 Quad Core, 1TB HDD and 4GB RAM. The display model in the store was running Lion, and on the spec sheet, or price sheet for the computer it states that the ones sold were running Lion also. So I was a bit surprised when I got home and saw that it was running Mountain Lion. Pretty cool I guess but I think some things are different. For example, I didn't get to see the famous Mac start-up movie, which sucked because I was really looking forward to that, I even had my camcorder out ready to record it, because it's a pretty cool little demo, and it's my first Mac, so I was wanting to see it. Something I really didn't expect though is the lack of the Pages application being pre-loaded. it only comes with some dinky little application called "Text Edit", which opens up really small, and even though you can expand the window, I haven't yet found a way to expand the actual rule at the top of the area where text is entered, and to increase that ratio, which ***** because it's all super tiny on this super huge screen. I really expected Pages to come factory installed on here, seeing as how it is the most commonly used Mac word processor (I'm assuming). Now it looks like I have to pay $20 just for Pages, especially when it would have been nothing for Apple just to pre-install it on here from the factory? I just paid over $1700 for a computer with a little quad-core, only 1TB HDD, a tiny little 4GB of RAM (though I now have 16GB of RAM) and a little 512MB GPU? And Apple can't even throw me a bone and give me pages? Come on now, what's the deal? Can anyone help me out, with what usually comes pre-installed on Macs? I would appreciate it.
    P.S. Apple, if you want to make me happy credit me $20 or provide me with a link to download the Pages application for free..

    silvergc, I'm not looking for your support. Just a bit of friendly advice. I'm coming from using PC where there's quite a programs made available for your pre-loaded on your computer I wasn't sure as to what actually came pre-installed. I just assumed that certain applications did because every single mac I've seen had them installed. But I guess it was my mistake. Oh, and a little hint, you don't really have to be rude and compare my lack of knowledge about Macs to your all-knowing mighty superiority. People make mistakes. Also, whether pages came with the thing or not was never going to be a deal breaker, I was just using the price point to put things into prospective a little. I just needed a little clarification on what was actually meant to come with the computer, to see how I made out. Because as I stated before I come from using a PC all my life and I know that programs that come pre-loaded can vary with a PC. Great job though at making one of my first encounters with people from the Mac community, not so great. Maybe I could have looked a little harder, but your pointless post really accomplishes nothing, and only makes yourself seem like a person who would post something simply to be rude to someone. "I don't have your support", alright.. Awesome, but you know what? I also would have not had your support if you didn't bother to post anything at all.

  • Upgraded to OS X Lion and now Pages has no "save as" option

    Which operating system are you running ?
    Here are four screenshots which I took under 10.7.0.
    CAUTION, in French, Save… is spelled Enregistrer…
    This one was taken just after creating a new document from an in-the-box template.
    The Save… item is available.
    This second one was taken after:
    changing a word just below the date then duplicating the document.
    As the duplicatewas never saved, the Save… item is available.
    Thirs third one was taken just after replacing the string "titre" par "un titre" in the duplicate.
    As this one was never saved before, the Save… item is available.
    This 4th one was taken after saving once the duplicate then inserting "nouveau" between "un" and "titre".
    As the doc was already saved once, the available menu item is no longer "Save As…" but "Save a Version".
    I hope that this time you saw the Save… (Enregistrer…) item.

  • How do I get scroll arrows for Pages?

    I run OS 10.8.5, just bought Pages and have no scroll arrown, only the bar.  In Mac system preferences there is no way to set them as the notes in Pages says.  Is no arrows the way for Pages, if so, how does one get around in page.  Very inconvient to use the bar ecvery time want to move up or down.

    Hi Papagano,
    Scrolling on your MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion (OS X v10.8.x) is controlled mainly by two-finger gestures on the track pad.
    Check System Preferences for Trackpad to set the options (and to see a mini-tutorial for each of the multi-finger gestures).

  • CTRL-E Loads ICE Toolbars and Standard Error 404 Page

    I have a site registered with InContext.  I have one editable region in index.php.  When I click ctrl-e, ICE loads all toolbars, however instead of loading my index.php file, it displays the default standard Error 404 page within the ICE framework.
    What information do I need to supply so that someone can help.
    Thanks
    Loyce

    Okay.  I use 1and1 as my hosting provider and it seems they use sedo domain parking as a revenue stream.  So when a HTTP HEAD request is recieved it returns 200 OK even for pages that do not exist and then redirects to an ERROR 404 which contains advertisements.  I don't really like this, but you can turn it off and see a standard, generic error page or use custom error pages, however this does not change how the server handles pages that do not exist.
    Your solution to go to the InContext Editing Administration Panel and simply "Save" the site settings for this site. Will not work for me because when
    ICE automatically checks if it can use HEAD requests on my server  it finds that it can and never falls back to the alternate method  of FTP.
    If I had the option to force the use of FTP, all of my problems would vanish.
    I have a request in with 1and1 to address this issue, however I see no reason for them to comply.
    I can manually copy my index.php file to index_draft.php and everything will work again until the draft is published or deleted.  For now,  I plan to edit the ice.js file to check if the file exists and if not, copy the original.php to original_draft.php so that i can bypass this issue for now.
    Is there a way to force the HTTP HEAD request to fail on my server?
    Anyway, that is where I am so far on this..
    Mr Popa, do you have any other thoughts on this so far?
    Thanks for your time.

  • After downloading the fix for pages I can't arrange my documents in a usable order

    Ever since I've downloaded the newest update for pages, my documents have rearranged themselves and I can't get them back into a usable order by dragging and dropping.  It also doesn't work to move the docs out of the program and leave them on the screen and then try to reinsert them where I want them to be.  So my question is: How do I move documents around and get them to stay where I put them?  It's probably a very simple task, but when it coms to this machine I am a less than simple user.  Thanks for your help.  Cheers Sam

    The iOS versions of the iWork apps uses the same format as iWork '09 so it is not surprising that the files open there. This sure sounds like an older version of Pages is tryiing to open the files. I rarely create documents on my iOS devices, but I just did a test. I created a very simple Pages document on my iPad then downloaded it from iCloud.com on my Mac mini running Snow Leopard & Pages 4.0.4. It opened without problems.
    Pages 4.2 is not the latest version for Mountain Lion, 4.3 is. Although I doubt that update would make a difference in your problem, it's definitely worth updating. You can download the standalone updater from this page if Software Update doesn't find it. If updating doesn't work, I suggest doing a Spotlight search for "Pages.app" (without the quotes).

  • When I click on a saved document or spreadsheet, I get this message You need a newer version of Numbers to open this document.  When I go Software update, there is no update for pages or numbers.  can't purchase or update?

    Trying re-purchasing.  won't let me.  says to check for updates?
    any suggestions

    It sounds to me as though you are attempting to open a Pages 09 document with the Pages 08 application. If you do have Pages 09 on your computer, it may be that for some reason an existing Pages 08 application is invoked accidentally.

  • Lion Server for Home use reality check

    Hi All,
    as many others I had the best intentions buying Lion Server for my home network (5 Macs, 2 iPads, 2 iPhones) to manage everything.
    It was destined to be a central server for user management, configuration management, home directories, file server, software update server, web server and Time Machine server and possible VPN gateway to my home network.
    I did not intended to use  as Address Book, iCal, Mail server as I use iCloud. I just don't see the point of iChat, Podcast, Wiki server for my home use.
    Anyway the bits I had to abandon so far are:
    configuration management - Profile Manager works only sometimes and is sluggish to say the least
    home directories - the home sync just doesn't work for Mac libraries such as iPhoto and iTunes
    software update server - worked, broke, fixed, worked, broke, fixed, ... going away with Mountain Lion.
    What works for me is user management, file server, web server and Time Machine backup, haven't gotten around to test VPN yet.
    Given that Mountain Lion is coming next month and presumably I'll have to buy new license for the Server version I am not sure if it's worth it.
    As I see it using a plain vanilla Lion or Mountain Lion system I can still do file server, web server and Time Machine backup. What I'd lose is the user management and I am not sure about VPN on a non-Server system but not really important. User management is a one time task for 5 Macs that's it.
    Would be interested to hear opinions from you folks about pros / cons of using a plain Lion or Mountain Lion OS X for server tasks vs Server version?
    Anything I am missing here?
    Thanks
    Andy

    That's probably true but also within that lies a major problem how this is positioned "The Server for Everyone". I am in IT and know what a DNS is. Most home users would NOT have a DNS running as it's not necessary not even talking about SSL certificates. I think this is a major problem here that it market incorrectly.

    if your trying to have portable home directories and having iphoto library sync'd
    I don't recomend on wireless , even on a wired 1gb network it's slow
    use WGM to skip iphoto or be prepaired for a long wait
    It's not so much a network bandwidth problem but the fact that home sync doesn't work for package files such as iPhoto, etc. Many people have confirmed that that home sync actually corrupts those files.

    Don't intend to do terminal but for example take "File Sharing". It's an Server option but every Mac also has file sharing under the "Sharing Settings". As far as I can tell the server actuallty is just an overlay over the Mac sharing option because if I define a file share it's also updated in the sharing option.
    Same thing goes for the Webserver. Hence I am thinking that Server really only is a central console for some basic services that can also be available by using standard OS X functionality.

    You can share it with other Macs under your control (not your neighbor's).  You just need to be logged in under the buying AppleID for updates or to download again.
    Use this thread to find a method of copying the ML download into a USB drive to make other installations easier: https://discussions.apple.com/message/16639520#16639520

  • Can i use iCloud for pages documents iMac?

    can i use iCloud for pages documents iMac?

    Hi lmdavis72,
    It looks like you can.
    From "iCloud: Documents in the Cloud overview"
    You can download a document from icloud.com/iwork to your Mac or Windows computer, edit it, and then drag the revised version to icloud.com/iwork. It’s then automatically updated on all of your iOS devices. You can also drag an iWork ’09 (Keynote, Pages, and Numbers) or Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel) document created on your computer to icloud.com/iwork.
    So it looks like it can go between iOS devices and your iMac.

  • How can I add a new Template to My Templates in Pages? I've read most of the discussions on the subject but it doesn't work for me. By the time I reach the Templates folder, I only see templates for Numbers and not for Pages. Need help, please.  Thanks

    How can I add a new Template to My Templates in Pages? I've read most of the discussions on the subject but it doesn't work for me. By the time I reach the Templates folder, I only see templates for Numbers and not for Pages. Need help, please.  Thanks

    Si vous avez utilisé la commande Save As Template depuis Pages, il y a forcément un dossier
    iWork > Pages
    contenant Templates > My Templates
    comme il y a un dossier
    iWork > Numbers
    contenant Templates > My Templates

    Before the reset quit Pages like this:
    Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app.
