Toolbox Pod is empty

Oddly, my Toolbox pod opens just fine, only it's totally empty (no tools listed). Naturally, I need to a multi-file find and replace...any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

Hi there
I believe I had a similar issue. Mine seemed to be related to the fact my RoboHelp was installed as part of the Technical Communication Suite (TCS2).
If your install is similar to mine, you will likely discover that you need to add the tools in manually. You should find them in the following (or similar) location:
?:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Technical Communication Suite 2\Adobe RoboHelp 8\RoboHTML
I think that before I amended the path it was incorrectly pointing to:
?:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp 8\RoboHTML
( ? = Installed drive letter. Often C. )
Cheers... Rick

  • Songs appear on iPod in iTunes, but after disconnected, pod is empty

    HELP HELP HELP
    I'm having a very strange issue. I copy songs from my iBook to my iPod, and they appear on the pod in iTunes, but when I disconnect the iPod, the pod says there are no songs on it.
    I've tried EVERYTHING!! I reformatted the iBook, restored the iPod, tried different USB port, set up a different user, etc...
    The strange thing is, when I use the iPod on my G4 Tower (exact same operating system as the iBook), the songs transfer fine. And when I use an older 3G iPod on the iBook, the songs transfer over fine. It's like the iPod and the iBook just don't get along!!

    This Apple knowledge-base article may help address that issue.
    Windows confuses iPod with network drive.

  • Toolbox empty in VS 2012

    The toolbox is empty.
    If I click Show All the items appear, but are greyed out and cannot be used.
    Reset toolbox changes nothing.
    Choose Items shows the components that should be in the toolbox all checked.  Have reset from the Choose Toolbox Items window without any change as well.
    I have tried using devenv /Safemode with no change.
    I read that I could try removing the .tdb files, but I cannot find them in a search and the path used in the examples I cannot find in my windows explorer.
    I am using Windows 7 64bit
    Any help anyone can give me would be appreciated

    Hello JLC6,
    Thank you for your post.
    I would like which version of VS2012 you are working with.
    As far as I know, if you are not at an app such as windows forms app, WPF app etc currently, the Toolbox actually is empty. Then all items will appear when we select “Show All Items” but they are disabled. So make sure you are at an app at that time.
    If still no help, I doubt that it is related to your VS.
    You could locate to the IDE folder then run these commands to check if it can help:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE
    Devenv.exe /ResetAddin: Removes commands and command UI associated with the specified Add-in.
    Devenv.exe /ResetSkipPkgs: Clears all SkipLoading tags added to VSPackages.
    If still no help, I suggest that you try to repair your VS.

  • My I-Pod Nano (1G) will only hold 68 songs.

    I purchased an i-Pod Nano yesterday. I have loaded the software and verified that all the software is up to date. When I plug in the i-Pod to transfer songs from the i-Tunes library, it tells me that I have already used 633 KB of software but my i-Pod is EMPTY. I have tried resetting the i-Pod numerous times. Please HELP -- I'm not sure what to try next except returning the i-Pod.

  • Content missing and problems with resync / restore functions

    Since this morning (it's early evening now), my iPod touch (3G, 64 GB, updated to iOS4 as soon as it was possible from Spain) is not working properly. It started while playing some music. It suddenly stopped without having to. I checked that the ipod was ignoring some songs, whose artwork appeared on screen, as if it couldn't find them. It jumped from one song to the next, and if it couldn't play it either, it stopped.
    After a little investigation, I reached the "Settings -> Information" section, where I saw that, although the ipod said it had 4000+ songs loaded, it had more than 50 Gigabytes free, which was impossible, since it was slightly more than 32 GBs free the last time I sync'ed it, and the songs in my library weight about 25 GBs.
    Once I arrived home, I tried to resync it, and then iTunes showed that most of the pod was empty and tried to reload all music, but it stopped due to an error after some 200 songs.
    Then I tried to restore the ipod, but after a few minutes iTunes displayed an error again.
    I'm trying now to resync it again. The process of reloading the songs is being painfully slow. It takes more or less 10 seconds for each song.
    Can anyone wonder what migt be happening?
    I bouht the ipod in March so it is under guarantee, but I'm going to start my summer holidays this week and I would hate to spend them without the ipod until Apple Services repairs/replaces my iPod.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Query on Master CHM

    Hi All,
    Greets!
    I have a query on RoboHelp. I have a master chm, which is linked to
    couple of individual CHMs. I have a requirement to now place all the
    individuals chms in a sub-folder,keep the master chm outside the sub-
    folder and deliver it to the distribution team. Needless to say, on
    performing the action, the links in master chm stops functioning.
    Please can you throw some pointers as how do you specify the path for
    the sub-folder, so that when the 'help' is called, the master CHM
    opens up the individual chms. Where do I specify the path in RoboHelp
    project? Or, am I missing something here?
    Thanks
    Rajdeep

    All
    Many thanks for your valuable time and suggestions. It worked.
    OUTCOME:
    I registered 30 chm files, and the master CHM with all the links worked out fine even if I had placed the CHMs
    in Mars.
    RoboHelp HTML includes a nice tool that will facilitate this for you. The tool is called HTML Help
    Registration and is found in the Toolbox tab (RoboHelp 6 or earlier) or the Toolbox Pod (RoboHelp 7 or later).
    Big Question:
    But, wait now the big query is how will it work in the release folder and customer machines.
    These files are to be registered in the customer machine too.
    So, my question is do you use any package tool to deliver the files to the client?
    If we can write a patch file for the help files, then the customers will not have any
    hassles of registration. They will need to just double-click on the exe file and it should work.
    This is the only solution to this problem as far as I know.

  • Browse Sequences in WebHelp -- Not Readily Apparent?

    As a newbie with RH7, I'm looking at using Browse Sequences.
    I created two named sequences and assigned a few topics to each,
    but when I generate a WebHelp output the only visible presence
    seems to be the "back - forward" triangles above the TOC. No
    listbox showing the named sequences offered. The only clue that the
    two sequences are working is that the back and forward buttons do
    move through a particular sequence when I happen to select a topic
    that's in that sequence from the TOC.
    Referring to N. Perlin's article,
    www.stcsig.org/oi/hyperviews/archive/02Spring/022cmagi.htm, for
    example, what I see is similar to his Figure 1. Can RH7 generate
    WebHelp that shows a browse sequence pictogram similar to that
    shown in his Figure 3? If not, browse sequences appear to be
    useless to foist upon my users.
    Thanks for your comments.
    Steve

    Paul et al: I downloaded & installed the Adobe AIR
    package and RoboHelp Packager for Adobe AIR. Found link to the
    latter in my RH7 Toolbox pod. Tried it on my current project. Wow!
    As you said, my browse sequences show up TOC-like in the lower left
    pane using the tab titled "How do I?" There's also a Mini-TOC tab
    (automatically shows the major headings within the topic on
    display!) and a Favorites tab. Beautiful!
    I'd use this solution in a heartbeat, but for two
    impediments: (1) must purchase a digital certificate for the
    single help file (AIR requirement), which would take time
    through my Federal customer and (2) the user PCs are locked down
    and AIR ain't on the "approved software" list ... yet (for any of
    you familiar with NMCI...). <sigh>

  • Unable to view local HTML content from "Help Content Only" SSL  iFrame

    Hi
    Can anyone confirm whether it is possible to view local HTML files within an iFrame when generating Help Content Only SSL content which is also locally deployed?
    I have had no problem viewing local html files from within an iFrame with a locally viewed Browser-Based Help project but despite trying a number of variations on the syntax, I simply cannot obtain the same result from a Help Content Only SSL that is then incorporated within a merged help system. I can however create hyperlinks to view local content using the following syntax (file:/C:\folderName\fileName.html - the only drawback for local preview is that you must right-click and select "open in new tab"). Essentially, I am trying to eliminate the requirement to have to right-click and open in new tab to view local html files.
    The project I am working on is deployed both locally and remotely and this whole process is necessary for emergency management and business continuity purposes.
    I hope my explanation isn't too convoluted and would be glad to clarify it further if required. I would appreciate any assistance!

    Hi John
    I appreciate you and Peter obtaining this  information from Adobe and I appreciate your continuing patience in  trying to understand what I am doing.
    I will start  from the beginning and hopefully clarify my process when deploying my  application locally (my remote process differs somewhat but is not  germane to this discussion). Obviously this will contain some repetition from previous posts but I hope it helps...
    The project itself integrates content created from Adobe RoboHelp with content created within Adobe Dreamweaver
    First, I should mention that I am using RoboHelp 8 as I don't believe I have addressed which version I am using. There's nothing particularly unusual about the project itself.
    Utilizing Dreamweaver I have created a self-contained HTML-only (no server-side functionality) website which is placed at the root level of the C: drive
    Within the RoboHelp project I create a hyperlink to access the local HTML files from the RoboHelp topic pages. The process I use to do so is from within the HTML view of the specific topic page and I use the following file path: "file:/C:\folderName\fileName.html". The only end-user requirement is that they must right-click and select "open in new tab", otherwise the link does not work. Please note, this is ONLY required for accessing the local HTML files.
    I output my RoboHelp project using the Adobe Air SSL, with the output type set to "Help Only Content" which creates the .rha files. I utilize multiple .rha files within my project as each .rha file constitutes a module specific to an individual municipality (in my particular instance)
    I use the Help Viewer Wizard from the RoboHelp "Toolbox" pod to create what I refer to as the "shell" .air file. Once the "shell" .air file created from the Help Viewer Wizard is  installed, it creates a shortcut on my desktop.
    I place an XML .helpcfg file within the directory on C:Program Files where my "shell" .air file has been installed to reference each .rha module which must be placed at the root level of the C: drive in order to be properly referenced by the .helpcfg file
    By double-clicking on the desktop shortcut created in Step 6 it opens the "shell" module which, in turn, loads in each individual .rha file which can be accessed individually from the drop-down menu in the top-right corner
    Why do I do it this way?? My organization severely restricts admin privileges on our workstations. We have one IT person / several hundred officers so I needed to create a system where the only time we need IT assistance is in the initial installation of the "shell" .air file created from the Help Viewer Wizard and placement of the .helpcfg file within the C: Programs folder. Once this is done, because the .rha files are on the C: drive, I can swap these out and update as necessary (we currently have an annual renewal cycle) and we require no further IT intervention. The local system I have just described has hyperlinks to the online browser-based help so that users can also access it and see any content updates made throughout the course of the school year
    Having said all that, based on the model I have just described, I have been trying to create iFrames from within my RoboHelp 8 topic pages (placed on my C: drive) to access the local HTML Dreamweaver site (also on my C: drive). The problem I have been having is that the resultant iFrames display only a blank white page and I have tried a number of variations on the syntax of the file path without success.
    The process I have been using to create the iFrame is as follows:
    In Design view, select Insert >> HTML >> iFrame
    In the iFrame dialog box, provide a name for the iFrame and then navigate to the local file on my C: drive level Dreamweaver HTML-only website that I want to link to.
    Click "Apply" and from the resulting dialog box states that "This action will create an external link to the help system... Do you want to continue?", I click "Yes"
    The resultant file path is "../../../../../folderName/fileName.html" which obviously won't work but I have created the iFrame and now I switch over to HTML view and insert the file path that I have been using for the hyperlinks ("file:/C:\folderName\fileName.html"). I also modify the width to 100% and the height to 1000 px
    The user is not being directed to a different domain. So, if as Adobe states, that iFrames are "supported in local AIR Help (.rha) as well" then I don't know why it will not work for me. Again, this is the file path that allows me to create a hyperlink which will access my local Dreamweaver HTML files: "file:/C:\folderName\fileName.html" so if that syntax works for a hyperlink, why will it not work for the iFrame?
    The videos I referenced are also contained within the local Dreamweaver HTML site
    My usage of the term "merged help" may have been unclear and hopefully steps 1-8 outline what I am doing
    Again, I am very grateful to all who have joined this discussion to try to help me! I think it should be manifestly evident by now that I am self-taught and basically that's the only excuse I can offer in my defense for my poor articulation. Not too many years ago I wanted nothing whatsoever to do with computers!

  • Canoscan 8600f

    Updated to Leopard now scanner CANONSCAN 8600F (which worked fine before) won't copy, and will only scan one page before message recieved cannot communicate with scanner! Any ideas plse?
    I haven't found the CANON website much help!

    If you have used an older driver version, or did an upgrade from 10.4, then the driver will need to be removed and the latest version installed.
    Open Finder and select the HD > Library > Image Capture > TWAIN Data Sources. Delete the 8600F.ds file.
    Then navigate to Applications and trash the CanoScan Toolbox application.
    Empty the Trash and then download the version 12.13.0 scanner driver and install.
    Once that install is complete, open Image Capture or Preview and see if you can scan multiple pages without error.

  • Link / Merge chm files on Clients PC

    Hi,
    We have a main project and add in modules that we can distribute separately as required.
    We would like to have 1 searchable CHM file, but do not want to include all of our add-in modules into the 1 CHM file.
    My idea was that we have 1 main CHM, then it searches for other CHM files on the customers PC (in selected directories) and includes them.
    Is this possible. I am willing to move to WebHelp if it is possible using that.
    I am using Robohelp HTML 10.
    May Thanks,
    Joe

    Hi Joe
    Just to add another twist to things here, perhaps you have CHM A, CHM B and CHM C.
    If you want to search CHM A and have it find results that are also found in CHM B and CHM C as if they were a singular larger CHM, you would normally have them in a single folder and have CHM A (or one of them) designated as the Master.
    The twist here is that they wouldn't have to exist in the same folder. Sure, it's simpler that way, but if your developers have arranged things in such a fashion that you have CHM files in different folders, the information below may help.
    If you look at your RoboHelp Toolbox Pod (View > Pods > Toolbox) you should find a utility there named HTML Help Registration. When you run this tool you are able to add CHM file references to your Windows registry. And that's the key point. When CHM file references exist in the Windows Registry, pathing location is added. Many eons ago I created some instructions that helped with that. In this case, you will likely be interested in the last bit of that topic where I talk about exporting a registry key that may be used to amend other registries.

  • Script to "Reset size" for all images in a RoboHelp project

    New UI. Quick fix to pull new screenshots is hampered by the size constraints of graphics.
    Is there a (third party or built in) script that will reset size for all the images in a RoboHelp HTML project?
    RH8, RoboHelpHTML bulished as WebHelp.
    PS the filter in Adobe Forums doesn't allow me to limit the search to RoboHelp HTML and WebHelp; I don't have any other Adobe products, so all the hits don't apply.

    Thanks for this script!
    What needs to be done to convert a .jsx into an .exe executable that I can add to the RH Toolbox (pod) and run it in a project on my terms, rather than import into the project so it runs (whenever I compile?)
    What is the ReSize tool for that already exists in the toolbox?

  • Snippets lost from project in RH7

    Hello,
    I am having a problem with snippets losing their connections to a project after I close and reopen the project.
    If I create a new snippet it appears in the Snippet pod, and the content is shown anywhere it is inserted in a page. If i then close and re-open RH, the Snippet pod is empty and the snippet content is not displayed in pages where it was inserted. The .hts files for the snippets still exist in the project folder, and the html still has the snippet placeholder anywhere it was inserted. I can fix the problem by clicking on "Import Snippet" from the Snippet pod and then importing all the snippets I had.
    Does anyone know how to correct this issue, so that snippts will remain associated with a project?

    Ok. I got it figured out. Thank you Peter, you set me on the right track.
    Here's what you need to do in case anyone else runs into the same problem:
    1.(Obviously you'd want to make a back up of the project first)
    2. Copy all snippet files (.hts extensions) to some other folder (outside of the project).
    3. Delete all snippet files from the project (.hts).
    4. Delete the .cpd file from the project.
    5. Delete the rhsnippet.apj from the project.
    6. Open the project, and import the snippets that you copied in step 2.
    7. Generate project. Should be good at that point.

  • Weird scripts in corrupted RH9 project

    Hi!
    I'm having trouble with a small 75-topic project in RH9. I just upgraded it from RH7 last month. The application runs on XP, service pack 3. The project file is located on a desktop and has a short access path (c:\RH9Projects\). I have in all 4 small RH projects, and created backups for each before upgrading to RH9. For simplicity purposes, the corrupted project will be identified as project A, and the others as B, C and D.
    After I finished tweaking the upgraded files and cleaning up unnecessary html in project A a few weeks ago, I generated my regular webhelp output and published it on the web. Everything was running smoothly. Since that upgrade from 7 to 9 went well, I repeated the steps for projects B, C and D. All was well again. I had also created backups at that time.
    Yesterday I went back to project A, and a lot of things are wrong. The TOC pod is empty, images that were in drop-down hotspots have disappeared and weird scripts have appeared in the topics' html. I first noticed those dreaded red squares at the top of all topics, sometimes 1 or 2. They also appear at the bottom of the topics.
    I closed project A without saving and tried opening project B. Everything is fine, nothing is missing. Same thing for project C and D. I tried opening a backed up copy of project A and that one too is corrupted. The backup copy was in a different folder but still with a short path. In this one, however, the opning topic is blank and has 6 red squares.
    Here's the script corresponding to the red square at the top of the topic:
    <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript1.2">//<![CDATA[
    <!--
    if (window.gbWhTopic)
            var strUrl = document.location.href;
            var bc = 0;
            var n = strUrl.toLowerCase().indexOf("bc-");
            if(n != -1)
                    document.location.href = strUrl.substring(0, n);
                    bc = strUrl.substring(n+3);
            if (window.addTocInfo)
            addTocInfo("Aide en ligne JMS");
    addButton("show",BTN_TEXT,"Afficher","","","","",0,0,"","","");
            if (window.writeBtnStyle)
                    writeBtnStyle();
            if (window.writeIntopicBar)
                    writeIntopicBar(1);
            document.write("<p style=\"text-align:right\"> ");
    AddMasterBreadcrumbs("H_HLP_FR.htm", "", "&gt;", "Home", "1000.htm");
    document.write("Aide en ligne JMS<\/p>");
            if (window.setRelStartPage)
            setRelStartPage("H_HLP_FR.htm");
                    autoSync(1);
                    sendSyncInfo();
                    sendAveInfoOut();
    else
            if (window.gbIE4)
                    document.location.reload();
    //-->
    //]]></script>
    Here's the script corresponding to the red square at the bottom of the topic:
    <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript1.2">//<![CDATA[
    <!--
    if (window.writeIntopicBar)
            writeIntopicBar(0);
    highlightSearch();
    //-->
    //]]></script>
    In some cases I also see this script - from a second red square:
    <script src="../../../ehlpdhtm.js" type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript1.2"></script>(top)
    <script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript1.2">//<![CDATA[
            if( typeof( TextPopupInit ) != 'function' ) TextPopupInit = new Function();
            TextPopupInit('a1','POPUP386155265');
            TextPopupInit('a2','POPUP386287878');
    //]]></script>(bottom)
    All RH9 versions of project A, original file and backup files, have this problem. If I open project A backup file using RH7, the file is okay. I know I can still start over with a new upgrade if need be, but I'm trying to figure out what happened. Everything was fine on April 20
    Aside from a techsupport guy, I am the only one who accesses this computer. There are no known technical issues with it. It is not connected to the Internet, only to the company's network, and security is thight.
    Does anyone have any clue as to what might have happened?
    Thank you in advance
    Nathalie

    Hi there
    Well it would appear that somehow you managed to copy your generated WebHelp output files over your pristine source files. Time to resort to your backup.
    You, ummm, DO have a backup. Right?

  • [script] smbfs-reset

    I had this problem that when I was restarting my Windows machine, my smbfs shares were unusable and couldn't be easily remounted. So I made this little script which does it in a rather brutal, yet working way.
    Hope you'll find it useful.
    #!/bin/bash
    # Make sure we are running under root
    if [ ! `whoami` = "root" ]; then
    echo "You need root priviliges to run this script."
    exit
    fi
    # Gets the bad mount points
    BAD_MOUNT_POINTS=`cat /etc/mtab | grep smbfs | awk ' {print $2} '`
    # Delete the bad entries from /etc/mtab
    sed -i '/^.* smbfs .*$/ d' /etc/mtab
    # remount the bad mounts
    for i in $BAD_MOUNT_POINTS; do
    umount -l $i
    mount $i
    done
    echo "Mounts were reset successfully."
    Enjoy.
