Tools | Comment | Share -- MISSING!

First of all, yes I do have Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 (not reader).
I am a newbie with Acrobat, but I did create a few documents a couple months ago. There used to be (according to other forms, and vague recollection) 3 buttons at the upper right corner saying "Tools | Comment | Share" -- this is how I edited my text and images in the past. Now I can't find them, and can't figure out how to edit my text. Is there something i'm missing?
Please help!

No, these panels are available in version X and higher. The GUI of version
9 is totally different.

I would like to keep my panes up after opening each document, but they keep closing.
The other issue I have is once I go to edit a form, I cannot get back to the Tools | Comment | Share
This is greyed out, so not sure why
Only way out is to quit and restart app. After doing this over 20X a day and last few years am giving in and hoping the wisdom of someone here can help.

For Forms editing there is a button at the top right. Other tools, just close the category.

I have Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard and I had to reload it on my computer due to my hard drive crashing. Now I can only open and view PDF’s  and I cannot edit them as I could before such as using Tools>Comment&Markup or Tools>Advanced Editing>TouchUp Text Tool. All the functions are greyed out. Please advise.

What's your OS? Acrobat 8 is not compatible with any modern OS.

  • How can I extract pages from a PDF? The Tools menu is missing.

I used to be able to extract pages from my PDF file. I don't see the tools icon anymore. How can I access the tools icon?

    Hi lenm,
To extract pages, you need to use Acrobat (not Adobe Reader). As I can attest (because I do have both Reader and Acrobat installed on the same computer), it is quite easy to open files in Reader when you mean to open then in Acrobat. So, please make sure you have the right app open. (I pull this one all the time!)
Now, if the Tools menu is missing from Acrobat, choose View > Show/Hide > Toolbar Items > Show Toolbars to make them reappear.
Please let us know how it goes.

  • TOOL= Categories option missing in Item Master form (INVIDITM.fmb)

    APPS - 12.1.3 - SLES11-SP2
    DB - 11.2.0.3 - SLES11-SP2
Question for all Inventory Gurus out here......
On our Master Items form (INVIDITM.fmb), the menu option Tools/categories is missing.
Is this caused by a missing profile option? or is a setup missing?
Please help. An SR was opened for this and the form has been re-compiled (along with all dependent libraries).....but the Categories option is still not visible from the Tools menu,.
    Thanks

The color is derived from the color code for the layer. You’ll need to go to the master page to edit the items.
If you that new to ID none of this is intuitive. First, I recommend that you buy Sandee Cohen’s Visual Quick Start Guide. It’s the be beginner book on the market: http://amzn.to/14JHq54

  • Spotlight comments are missing?

I added Spotlight comments to most of my documents to make them easier to locate. Easy enough, although it took some time.
This morning I've found that those comments are missing. Of the several documents I checked, none had comments.
The only thing I can think of is OnyX. I use OnyX to clean up my system periodically, and one of the options is the Spotlight Index.
Is selecting the Spotlight Index killing my comments?

One of the OnyX routines you ran killed them, but not Spotlight indexing. I almost never use the Spotlight comments field, because the content is not actually a part of the file. Instead the information is stored in a hidden Finder data file, and, as you've discovered, it is possible for this hidden data to get removed.

  • How do I make a brush signature when the tool bar is missing the magic wand tool?

I am missing the magic wand tool from the tool bar on the left of cc.  How do I retrieve it or is it completely missing from the photoshop cc download?  I need it to make a brush signature for signing photos.

    Hi,
Most likely the magic wand tool is not missing.
The Magic Wand Tool is grouped with the Quick Selection Tool in the tool box

  • Hiding Comment / Share Buttons in Reader X

Is there a way to hide or disable the "Comment" and "Share" buttons that are shown in the toolbar in the top right corner of Adobe Reader X? I am embedding an XFA PDF Form in a web browser for my web application and I do not wish to have these buttons available to the users.

Thanks GKaiseril.  Yes, it is Adobe Reader X (v10) I'm talking of.
That script "app.toolbar = true;" turns the complete toolbar on.
I was actually talking of how you turn indivdual tools on within the toolbar.  For example say turning the 'Hand' tool on.  The default toolbar setup (within the browser) doesn't have the 'Hand' tool turned on, amongst other useful ones that aren't turned on.  I'm looking for a way to programmatically turn those on for the users.
    Any thoughts ?

  • Customization of Acrobat Reader X - Remove Comment | Share

    Hello,
Im searching for a possibility to customize Acrobat Reader 10.
I need to remove the functions "Comment" and "Share" which are located on the right side of the tool bar.
Are their any registy keys I can use for this? The only possibility I currently see is using AppSense Environment Manager but we also use server farms which are not managed via AppSense.
    Kind regards

    Okay, I found the answer:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\Workflows]
    "bEnableAcrobatHS"=dword:00000000

  • Netlogon Share missing

I am running 2 2008r2 DC's in a test environment using a network emulator between them to simulate latency and bandwith restriction for when we go to a live environment. Between the 2 DC's I can successfully replicate with no errors
all GPO's are being pushed successfully also. I also have "successfully" setup DFS.  The problem I get is the Netlogon Share is missing and I have tried the suggestions on these sites with no luck:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947022/en-us and
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/833783/en-us.   I checked the Event Viewer on both DC's under DFS Replication and I have EventID 4602 on one DC and EventID 4604 on the other
DC which seems to be working correctly but I just am unable to get the Netlogon share to come up. I do not have a backup or a fully functional SYSVOL_DFSR share to restore from so that is out of the question but the SYSVOL_DFSR is shared but when
I navigate to the physical location of the Netlogon share the Scripts folder is missing. Is it possible to manually create the folders and share the Netlogon folder?  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

DCGPOFIX tool is not used for creating Netlogon folder, but its mainly for creating default domain and domain controller policy for which Netlogon folder has to exists. You can use below article to rebuilt the Sysvol tree & the article is applicable
    for windows 2008 R2.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315457
You can create the folder manually, but it might not have the necessary permission required to be there. Its better to use the above article.

  • In Bridge CS6, the "Tools" tab is missing the "Photoshop" option to batch process image

    Hello!
Does anyone know why in Bridge cs6 under the "Tools" tab, my "Photoshop" option is missing?  That is how I have always batch processed images.  In Bridge, I choose the images to process, go to the "Tools" tab, down to the "Photoshop" option then to "Image Processor" and process.  Now when I go into my "Tools" tab it only has the options: Batch Rename, 4 kinds of Metadata related options and Cache.  Can someone tell me why this has happened and how to fix it?  Thank you!!!
    Eric

    Hello Omke,
This problem lasted for two days.  I tried many suggestions but nothing worked immediately.  Suddenly I turned my computer on last night and it was fixed...inexplicably.  Not sure what worked but something did.  I appreciate you taking the time to offer advice.

  • Print Comments Option Missing in Adobe Reader 9.4.0

Using a PDF I downloaded online, I inserted comments using both Adobe Acrobat Pro and Nuance PDF Converter Pro.
In both the Acrobat and Nuance applications I can print the PDF with the comments just fine.
When I opened the document in Adobe Reader 9.4.0 it would not print the comments by default.
I hunted around the File > Print & Edit > Preferences dialog boxes but found no such option in Reader 9.4.  It either does not exist, or I'm not looking in the proper place(s).
I opened the same document in Adobe Reader X and I did have the option to print the comments as outlined in the instructions here (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/897/cpsid_89733.html).
On that same page however it says a comment printing options should be on both the Edit > Preferences and File > Print dialog boxed in Reader 9 but it is not.  The instructions above appear to be inaccurate.
I've tested this on multiple systems (same base OS & configuration) but the problem persists:  How does one print comments in Adobe Reader 9.4.0?  (Upgrading is not an option at this time.)

    Thanks for the speedy response!
The repair didn't appear to do the trick.  The Comments option under Edit > Preferences is still missing and even with the Document and Markup option still selected, it doesn't actually print comments.I took it a step further & removed it completely then re-installed it but that didn't help.
I am part of the IT organization .  So you're suggesting (or saying) there's a certain Adobe Reader 9.4 update that introduces this feature?  If so, do we know which specific update?  Is there a KB article, release note or change log that that covers/discusses this?
