Dear Sirs,
We have Business Objects BI 4.0 and SAP BW 7.3.
Actually we are using Web Intelligence and BEx Query to reporting.
We have not Business Layer (Universe) between BW and BO because BO it's not supported to create universe (unx) on BW. So we create document in WEBI using BEx Query.
We want to use Xcelsius (Dashboard Design) 2011 and I was thinking that we can use query from universe to connect with BW (new functionality in version 2011). Can we? Or maybe we should to connect to BW using "Connecttion to SAP BW"?
We want to use Explorer (on iPad and iPhone), but Explorer requires universe (unx).
Is not possible to create universe (unx, because unv is not supported via Explorer) based on SAP BW, is it true?
We should we do, when we want to use Explorer with SAP BW?
Do I understand connection between reporting tools and SAP BW:
Crystal Reports - can I use cubes or BEx queries
Xcelsius - using "Connection to SAP BW"
WEBI - BExqueries or universe (but only UNV - old version).
Explorer - in my opinion is not possible
Analysis for OLAP - drirect to cube in SAP BW
Could you please comment.Hi
With the current version of the BI 4.0 SP2 BI Platform, one cannot create a universe (.UNX format) against BW using the OLAP connection. However you can create a universe (.UNX format) using the Relational connection (see OSS note: 1656905 - How to create UNX universe based on Business Warehourse InfoCubes). One limitation is the use of hierarchies with the relational connection.
Then you can create the Information spaces based on the universe (.UNX format) that the Explorer can use.
BO Reporting tools:
1. Crystal Reports for Enterprise = you can use the OLAP connection (BICS) directly against the BW InfoCubes or Queries, if queries already exist in the BW system then you can leverage these directly (less time spent recreating the entire query in Crystal)
2. Xcelsius = you can use the BICS or Web Service or Universe to access the data
3. Web Intelligence = you can use the OLAP Connection (BICS)
4. Explorer = you can use a universe (.UNX format) via a Relational Connection
5. Analysis for OLAP = you can use the OLAP connection (BICS) to either a query or InfoCube.
It is hoped that in Feature Pack 3 which will be released later this year, that missing functionalities will be delivered for BI 4.0.

Error when using Channel Migration Tool in SAP Directory Content Migration Tool

Integrating third party tools in SAP
Hi friends,
Can anybody guide me about how to integrate third party tools in SAP gui or any other systems in SAP?
What are all the connectors available in SAP ? and which connector will integrate third party tools.
Please help me out.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
SireeshaI am not sure of any standard integration programs specific to recruitment, but through customization we can integrate third party rectt systems like People click, HRP etc.
Develop inbound programs with ALE-IDOC system to transfer the data to Rectt tables.
The switch will control activation of integration between the systems.
If this helps, pl do reward.
Thanks

Web page composer (CMS) tool for SAP Netweaver 7.1 CE?
Hi All,
Can some body help me out finding the WPC tool for SAP Netweaver 7.1 CE version? All i can find in SAP portal is for WPC tool for SAP WAS 7.0 (2004s) version.
Thanks,
KishoreHi,
No you would find that business package also for 7.1. I doubt if SAP has released any business package for 7.1. CE 7.1 was especially meant for building and deploying composite applications. For all other usage types you would have to go for NW 2004s Portal aka EP 7.0

ranendraHi Ranendra,
Dashboard Designer 4.1 will not be installed automatically with BO Client Tools 4.1. You need to install separately. You can download the Dashboard Designer 4.1 in SAP Market Place(http://service.sap.com).It will ask you license key,you can get temporary license keys for BusinessObjects tools in SAP Market place itself if didn't raise a request for permanent license keys.

RamalingaDear Mr.Sudheendra Rao,
Its good that you want to break in to charming world of Consulting and I also see that you have choosen to pursue something commemorating your experience.
The best way is to search all the archives to find answers to similar questions already first.
First things first, I am sure you are aspiring to break in, considering the plush pay that a Consutant gets, you sould also give in a thought to what it takes to groom your self to that level. you need to get your self locked and study for 6-8 hrs a day for a year. If you are already working then you would be crushing in.
So join some small institute and kick your self hard till luck favours you and remember there are no short cuts. Start early and give it ample time to prepare your self and get a firm footing with your concepts.
Lo and behold, you'll find your self the job of your dreams sooner of later.
All the best. GUD LUCK MATE.

Testing Tools for SAP & SAP BIW
Hi Forum ,
will any body pls let me know what are available testing tools for SAP and SAP BIW? Which tool is popular and mostly used? Does any one provide training for this tools?
Regards
SuhelHi,
For SAP R/3 we use CATT and ECATT tools.
Both are very useful tools and generally used for automated functional testing.Reduces a large amount of cost and human effort.
Even you can convert or call external tool scripts like mercury QTP etc from ECATT and run from ECATT itself. Also you can use these tools with solution manager to get awesome effortless testing and test plan management.
Check my weblogs.
Part-1:Shows how to create a Parameterize CATT script.

Part-2:Shows how to migrate CATT to ECATT script.
/people/community.user/blog/2007/02/06/create-and-migrate-catt-to-ecatt-part-2
1./people/community.user/blog/2007/01/02/integrating-ecatt-mercury-qtp-part-1
This one shows the minimum configuration required for QTP and ECATT integration on client and server side.
2./people/community.user/blog/2007/01/15/integrating-ecatt-mercury-qtp-part-2
This one shows the standalone mode.e.g.mercury script is created and uploaded to ecatt and then executed from ecatt itself. Also,It is now possible to call this script from Solution manager.
3./people/community.user/blog/2007/01/22/integrating-ecatt-mercury-qtp-part-3
This one shows the integration mode which is most powerful as we can run QTP scripts from ECATT,Upload & download modify existing etc.
Please reward points.
