Tools randomly change to previously used tools

Hi all,
I'm running into a very strange and frustrating issue in Photoshop CS6 (running on a Macbook Air w/ OS X version 10.8.5).
When using keyboard shortcuts to toggle back and forth between tools, Photoshop will randomly revert back to my previously used tool. For example, I have the move tool active and am using it to move elements around in my PSD. Then, I switch to the type tool by using the 'T' shortcut on my keyboard. I go to click on the type that I want to edit, and Photoshop has reverted my active tool to the move tool. I type 'T' again to pull up the type tool, and within 1 or 2 seconds, Photoshop jumps me back to the move tool. It's as if I've pressed the 'V' shortcut immediately after pressing the 'T' shortcut! Sometimes I have to type 'T' to pull up the type tool 8 or 10 times before the type tool 'sticks'.
This is happening with other tools, too (toggling between Move & Marquee, Marquee & Direct Select, Zoom & Move, etc.) so it's not only limited to toggling between Move & Type.
I don't see the same issue when clicking on the toolbar to select a new tool (rather than switching via keyboard shortcut).
Has anyone else seen this issue? Does anyone know of a fix?

Cursor problem, changing tool over image, disappearing during use

Photoshop CS5.1
Mac Pro, OS 10.8.5
Wacom tablet and Apple mouse.
Issue is only happening (as far as I can tell) with Photoshop.
Cursor sitting on image, my hand not even touching the mouse or wacom pen, and the cursor is "jumping" between the tool selected (hand tool, healing tool, lasso tec) and the black arrow select tool.
If I zoom in and attempt to use the healing or clone tool, the clone from and clone to tools disappear, so I can't tell where I'm working.
I've reset the tool preset, changed between the wacom tablet and mouse, closed PS, rebooted machine etc, still having the issue.
Assuming the next step is to clear something. Preferences??

Just restored Preferences and Tool Preferences. No change.
I also took a quick look at Illustrator and InDesign. While their tool sets are not as dynamic as Photoshops, InDesign did seem to be showing the rapid "jump" between the tool selected and the direct selection tool (the black arrow). It was harder to tell with Illustrator, but it did seem like the issue could be showing up there too (I don't use Illustrator or InDesign very much, so it's tougher to say if the cursor behavior is abnormal there).
As far as I can tell, the cursor is working normally in other apps, but the tool/cursor choices in other apps is nowhere near as extensive or complex as Photoshop. Wondering if there's an overall Adobe Preference that could be causing this?

Note that the "Use custom settings for history" selection allows to see the current history and cookie settings, but selecting this doesn't make any changes to history and cookie settings.<br />
Firefox shows the "Use custom settings for history" selection as an indication that at least one of the history and cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that changes were made.<br />
If all History settings are default then the custom settings are hidden and you see "Firefox will: (Never) Remember History" (Never remember history means that Private Browsing mode is active).
"Use custom settings for history" stays selected if at least one of the History or Cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that changes from the defaults are made.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

Previews won't update until clicking on a tool or changing modules

Hey all,
On my previous computer (a Toshiba Laptop, Core2Duo 2.0 GHz with 2GB RAM, Intel 950 graphics, and Vista Home Premium), LR ran pretty well. I've since sold that off and moved to an HP quad-core with 4GB of RAM, nVidia 7350, and the same Vista version. LR seems to run slower now for some reason while moving about the catalog (and I'm not running anything extra on startup...less, in fact!).
Additionally, this new fun thing has been happening: it seems that my preview in any module will show up as pixellated (as if it's trying to load the image, but it's not SAYING so) as I move around. I can zoom and move with the hand or by using the map on the upper left...it remains pixellated. The kicker is that if I select ANY tool or change to any of the other modules, whiz-bang, the preview shows up all crystal-clear.
What the heck is going on here? My catalog is stored on the C: drive (on a rather ample hard drive), but my photos are on a separate super-quick SATA drive (again with quite a bit of free space). I would really rather not push all my photos to the C: drive, as I like keeping them separate.
I'm running a fully-registered version of LR 1.1 that was installed only a month ago. My catalog is only around 6500 pictures at this point, and I've been importing using the LR defaults (no standard sized previews). I saw a few postings about enabling this to speed things up. As a side-question, is there any way for me to tell LR to render these previews AFTER I've added 'em to my catalog? As in a "Select All, press Ctrl-Alt-Whatzit Button"?
Sorry if this is a bit of a ramble...please let me know if I can provide more information to figure out just what the heck is going on! I'm looking for a miracle here, because I just discovered the joy of all the nifty new developer features in this program over the very-vanilla Camera RAW processor (that won't do my pocket JPEGS when I'm not carrying my DSLR).

okay, I don't know about the rest, but about the songs never actually loading onto your iPod, I found in another discussion how to fix that. I'm using Windows 7, so I don't know if the steps are the same, but the end result is the same. So go into your Start menu, then into accessories, right click 'Command Prompt' and click 'Run as administrator'. Then type in the following: netsh winsock reset then press Enter. After a few seconds it should tell you to to restart your computer for changes to take effect. Restart your computer, then restart iTunes, then everything should be working fine. It still takes forever sometimes to update the iPod, but eventually it will work. I've had to do this multiple times, so I'd suggest copying & pasting this solution into a notepad or Word document and saving it on your computer, so you don't have to go through the discussions again to find it. This tends to happen to me nearly every day unfortunately Hope this fixes that problem, but I'm not having any of the other problems fortunately, except for removing the artwork of the songs it updates without me asking it too. PS I think my problem may be with iOS 5, because iTunes 10.5 came out before iOS 5, and I think everything was fine before I updated my iPod, but I really don't know where the problem lies

Try setting the check boxes in Edit>Preferences>General for the following:
- Make Hand tool select text & images
- Make Hand tool read articles
- Make Hand tool use mouse-wheel zooming
Adjust these as needed but does it make any difference?

Would anyone know how to import a class CEX file using TOOL code? Is there
a class in one of the libraries that I can use to do such a task?
If anyone has some insight into such an endeavor (positive or negative)
please respond!

What exactly are you trying to do when you say "import"? I can think of
two possibilities:
1. You simply want to import the text of the file, in which case
you can use Forte's File class.
2. You actually want to load the class definition and instantiate
an object based on that class. If so, you will need to deploy the class
in a library and use Forte's dynamic class loading and instanceAlloc().
This is well documented in the Forte manuals.

I don't know about any forte classes to do the job.
But, if it just automating the imports that you are concerned with
then you can accomplish it using fscript.
For eg. in UNIX machines you can write a shell script to go through
a directory, get all files with .cex extension and call fscript which
would open a workspace/repository and do an import plan.

The goal that I want to achieve is this: at runtime, read a CEX file from
my filesystem and "import class" it into my workspace. It is equivalent to
invoking the menu item "Component,Import Class/Interface".
Basically I am generating hundreds of TOOL classes and I don't want to
manually import them myself. I am aware of the Forte Code generator, but
the classes I wish to generate are much too complex for the generator (I
want virtual attributes based upon NonKeyAttributes, with their own Set and
Get methods, as well as methods with changing/variable parameters -
something I believe that the generator cannot handle).

Developing ETL in pl/sql instead of using tools

I've been developing for many years in pl/sql and c-shell scripting (Unix) for managing ETL processes in order to load and perform data into databases and data warehouses.
Even if I've rarely used tools like Pentaho and never used Oracle Warehouse Builder, according to you is it possible to claim that an analyst/programmer has developed ETL processes only by using classic developing (plsql, c-shell, external tables, ...)?
For a forthcoming new project I'd like to work for as a data warehouse analyst/programmer for ETL processes, I'd like to know whether I can claim to be able to write ETL procedures even if I don't use data integration tools.

The parser takes the schemas (starting at the main schema and including the others as required), processes them to create a metadata table containing all the information about the element names, datatypes, namespaces and parent elements etc. so essentially giving a set of hierarchical data, which is then post-processed to flatten the structure as much as required to obtain the actual datatypes of simple elements, and expand the extensions etc. whilst at the same time creating a set of metadata to assign 'table names' to each group of elements (as element names can exceed the 30 character limit of oracle table names), then creates scripts to generate the staging tables with appropriate primary/foreign keys so all the tables have the correct relationship, as well as the XML generating package that can generate pieces of XML from each table and combines them to the required output XML (once there's data in the tables of course).
Considering I had little experience of XML Schemas and namespaces at the time I wrote it, back in 2005/6 (I did have experience of DTD's), I used my knowledge of writing language/syntax parsers and knowledge of what ETL tools aimed to do (easily gained knowledge from all the demonstrations the companies trying to sell them gave us) to write the parser and the ETL process. Other organisations, related to our own, also had the same task to do, and some of those were struggling (as they too had no ETL tool) so were provided with what we'd achieved as their starting point, and to great success, as far as I'm aware. It certainly proved itself worthy, when the 3rd party supplied us with completely restructured Schemas (a whole overhaul of the final product), and we just ran those through the parser in another database schema, and did a staging table comparison to see what changes had been made overall (they hadn't supplied any details themselves of what had changed, it was up to us to find out); that whole process of parsing the schemas and analysing the differences to determine the impact on our current work, was all done in 2 days, something which surprised our management greatly (especially as other organisations having to do the same, were reporting it was going to take them several weeks). Sure, there are areas for improvement in it, but it more than meets our needs.

I am using CS6. When you create a simple square or any object, you will be able to use the regular selection tool to change the size by draggin on the "control point" around the object.
However, I was able to do it before but I dun know why I can't do it suddenly. The regular selection tool just enable me to move the image even I click on the "control point" on the object. If I need to change the size, I need to use the resize tools which is a hassle.
Anyone knows what happened? Am I having some wrong setting in my AI ?

How to move(migrate) OAF files(class files,PG files) using tools(Kintana).
Just want to know process for moving(migrating) OAF Files(class,PG) one instance to over instance(i.e dev to testing) using tools like kintana. We are planning to PVCS as versioning tool.

New Line Types need to be added to Kintana Workflows and these line types should be able to use the xmlimport/xmlexport scripts.
We have customized Kintana to migrate forms personalizations using FNDLOAD.
I think, Change Management team should be able to address this.
