Tools to write documentation for the lazy guy?

Hi all, from some years i'm developing a graphical project, but i've never had the will to write the documentation.
...what a boring task.
But now that i think my project is quite complete and stable, the time has come.
What tools do you suggest? There are a lot of functions,menues,checkboxes and so on to write about, so the natural end would be an hypertext with images.
Any advice for the task?

It depends. What kind of application did you make and which what toolkit and what kind of documentation would you like to provide?
I wrote an application using wxWidgets, which includes a "Help Window" widget that just displays an HTML string. That made it super easy to provide graphical in-application help.
I wrote a couple of man pages (like for packer). I think those are kind of fun to make. I simply did an Internet search for "how to make a man page" or something. It was pretty easy to learn.

Some people find programming boring and writing documentation to be an enjoyable contribution. If you release your program and people like it someone might write the documentation for you.

I have songs that are just oh so dear to me, and if I were to lose them it would feel like my life ended 2012 style.
haha jk but i just wanna be safe.
I have a 500GB Seagate External Hard drive but i travel a lot and its sometimes a pain to take a external hard drive around with all the plugs and the big thingy-majigger to carry around.
long story short I have my songs on my mac book filed as well as on my external hard-drive.
The Question?
is their a way to excatly duplicate what i upload onto my itunes folder on my mac harddrive that will also appear onto my external hardrive. the same excat way as it is organized. instead of the whole drag and drop. an easier way besides that.

or even one that came on my Mac Tiger OSX that i didnt know about.

I dragged my whole iTunes folder to the external drive initially. Then I started using Synk Standard periodically to keep both in sync. It's not automatic, but it only takes a few seconds each time I run it.
The program costs US$35 after a 30 day trial and works with Tiger or later.

Probably the best thing to do is go to your boss/team lead/project manager/client contact and ask them what documentation they want you to produce and what should go in it. No-one here can guess at that.

Implementation-specific documentation for the Sun/Oracle Java SE ?

Hi,
Some places in the Java SE API specification call for platform-specific documentation. For example, the specification of the method await of class java.util.concurrent.locks.Condition says:
"Implementation Considerations
The current thread is assumed to hold the lock associated with this Condition when this method is called. It is up to the implementation to determine if this is the case and if not, how to respond. Typically, an exception will be thrown (such as IllegalMonitorStateException) and the implementation must document that fact. "
So, implementation-specific documentation is expected to exist in addition to the API specification documentation. Sure, sentences beginning with "Typically..." suggest that that is what the Sun/Oracle reference implementation does, so the behavior of Sun/Oracle implementation can be guessed in many cases... yet sometimes troubling uncertainty remains.
If implementation-specific documentation for the implementation exists, please let me know.
I apologize if I chose an inappropriate forum for this question, but there seems to be no forum for discussing documentation arrangements.

If you want to look at the implementation sepcific documentation, the best place to look is the source.
The reason the docuementation is written generically is because they want you to write portable code, rather than rely on the specific implementation detail of the one you are using.
Even if you don't intend to use another vendor, you might want to upgrade in the future and Java 7 or 8 many change its implementations provided it meets the specification.

Inspection Plan: For each Lab Chemical the Inspection Plan is created.

Create one Qualitative Dummy MIC  INVDUMMY
Assign the Selection Set to the Dummy MIC.

I can't launch itunes says it's on a locked disk and I don't have write permission for the folder,how do I fix this?

The path C:/documents and setting/...iTunes.msi cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in a folder from which you can install the product iTunes.
Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the thingy on the Major Geeks page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

I'm trying to find the documentation for the Acrobat Document Object Model. To my surprise a search in the forum's archives was unsuccessful.
I remember downloading out of curiosity a few PDFs from Adobe about their implementation of JavaScript in Acrobat, one precisely concerning ADOM (but I could be wrong as it was a few years ago and I'm getting old): are those documents a thing of the past?

I am developing a Windows Universal app in which I need to upload a FileItemThumbnail to Azure blob storage. One thing that is making this tricky is that I cannot find the correct documentation for CloudBlockBlob. For example in the documentation I can find

1. All the objects name and description entered for each objects in presentation layer.
2. All the columns of each objects and their description entered in the presentation layer.
3. All the objects and their hierarchies.
Does OBIEE provide any tool or API through which we can generate documentation having these informations automatically?

Thanks for the reply. I have one question. If I give a description for any object or it's columns, that doesn't appear if I use Repository Documentation utility given in your link.
Also if I populate the table from the flat file it generates and import into physical layer and bring into Presentation layer. It gives consistency check error while saving and in BI Answer I can't see any columns of that table. Do you have any workaround for that?
I have also seen your other Article of Generating Metadata Dictionary. How is this different then the one you suggested.

Where can I find documentation for the HSP* Custom Functions

I can see a number of HSP functions are registered in Essbase but cannot find any documentation for them. I am reluctant to use them for client development without some proper documentation. Does anyone know where it can be found?

Here is the contents of essfunc.xml. A little bit more information than what is available than in EAS; for example regarding function @HspGetMbrCount, it has a limited function prototype "@HspGetMbrCount(StringArray)" and purpose "Returns the member count of the range provided". I got this from Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/essbase1/EssbaseServer/essbaseserver1/java. You can view it more easily in Internet Explorer or vim.

As administrator, I cannot edit certain files unless I add read/write/etc. for the Users group.

I'm administering a Subversion server running on Windows Server 2008 R2. When I need to add access to SVN repositories, I need to edit a svnaccess.txt file. This file sits under C:\Program Files(x86)\CollabNet\Subversion Server. When I
attempt to edit the file, though, I cannot save it unless I save it to a new file.
My account is part of the local administrators group. All of the folders and subfolders in the path have Full Control enabled for Administrators. The file itself also has Full Control enabled for Administrators. Yet, the only way I can
edit this file is to add Modify and Write permissions to the local Users group even though my account is only part of the local administrators group.
What's odd too, is that if I can edit these permissions I must have the appropriate administrator privileges.
I searched for this a while back and recall seeing a hotfix for this as it was a known bug in Windows Server 2008, however, I cannot for the life of me find this link anymore nor do I see a fix like this on the hotfix spreadsheet. I need to locate
the hotfix that corrects this to provide to our system admins. For some reason, they will only install hotfixes if a problem is identified.
If anyone knows of the hotfix that corrects this issue, please let me know! :)

As you said, if a user account belong to local Administrators account, when only Administrators group has permission on a folder, all admins except Administrator account will not have permission to access it.
This is caused by UAC. All accounts in local Administrators group are actually working as standard accounts. When an Administrator action need to be performed, a prompt will occurs for permission to promote to admin permission. As only Administartors group
has permission on a folder and the account we are using is working like a standard account, we will be denied from accessing.
A workaround is to create a new group for all admins and give the group enough permission for accessing the target folder.
Or you could run all accounts in Administartors group in Admin mode. See this article:
