Tooltips sometimes don't dissappear

Tooltips occasionally don't dissappear when you move the mousepointer away from them. Most of the time it is possible to let them dissappear anyway by clicking the mouse on them, but sometimes even that doesn't work.
I noticed this on a number of Windows versions and in several Java applications. But when I search the bug database I don't find any bug report on this subject.
Has anyone noticed the same, and does anybody know if Sun is working on this?

I've experienced the same problem numerous times with Java applications running on a Windows platform.
But, as goes for you, I haven't seen any documentation about it, nor have I got any idea of what is going on.

Imovie themes sometimes don't zoom into video

Hi All,
I've had a good trawl of the web in general looking for the answer to this, but I think the question is so hard to word that it may be something that I just haven't searched correctly. Apologies if this is the case!
I use iMovie a lot, and I would say that I am fairly proficient with it, so I don't think it's bad implementation on my part. I'm using the version from iLife '11, updated to the latest, and this has happened over a number of update increments. I'm currently on Lion 10.7.2 but this happened under Snow Leopard as well. I'm running iMovie on a Macbook Pro 13" i5 early 2011. I have had so many good results with this machine that I can reasonably rule out hardware not being up to the job. All the video I edit is AVCHD.
The problem arises when I use the themes, let's say for example the comic book / newspaper theme. The opening scene, generated by iMovie shows the 'front page' with the titles I have input, and then should zoom in to the video which is playing in the middle. What I am finding is that quite often, this doesn't work correctly. The zoom happens, perfectly smoothly and nicely, but instead of finishing by filling the screen with the movie, it ends up on the top half of the movie and the bottom half of the title. This then disappears and the movie plays as normal.
When this happens I have tried a few things to correct. I have tried removing all but the top line of text in the title. I have tried removing the theme and reinstating it. I have tried all the obvious reboots etc. None of these seem to work. It seems that when it is going to happen with a particular project it is just going to happen and is unfixable. I have tried starting the project again from scratch and this seems to sometimes work. I'm tempted to think though that the bug happens at project creation and so staring again has the same probablility of success or failure as the first attempt.
I'd really appreciate anybody's thoughts or input on this as I think I have reached the point where I'm not looking at it in an intelligent fashion. Of course if anyone has a 'do this and it's fixed' answer, that would be even better!

While I don't know the exact problem that could cause this, here's a few ideas.
If the clip you are trying to import is really large, you could be running out of disk space.
Use the activity monitor found in your Applications/Utilities folder. This will allow you to see what your computer is doing while it's importing these movies.

All-day events sometimes don't sync from iPod to Mac using Exchange Server

I have an iPod touch (1st or 2nd generation, not sure) which syncs with my MacBook via ActiveExchange and the company's exchange server.
I have been noticing that sometimes when I create all-day events on the iPod they don't show up in my Entourage-calendar. Even if I change their dates on the iPod or change them from all-day to a specific time. Nothing.
I already switched off time zone support or what's it called although all time zones are on the same city.
Any thoughts are highly appreciated. (And no, to be honest I don't think that it's a exchange-server-problem.)

Intel IMac sometimes don't launch Audio Instrum

Hi!
Recently I purchased a Intel IMac 1.8 and an M Audio Midi One interface. As it's a very new machine, I decided to install the OS using the DVDs that came with the IMac, and then search for the upgrades at apple. Well, after installing everything, including LP7.2 full version and LP7.2.1 upgrade, I've noticied that sometimes some audio instruments don't launch, and when I try to close the project, logic crashes. Does anyone know something about it? I'm trying to work mainly with audio instruments, and I really can't get a job.

Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
Do the following:
1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.

Point Changer sometimes don't generate IDoc MATMAS

Hello,
I have activated Point Changer for MATMAS and when I change material sometimes the IDoc is generated and sometimes is not.
In the table BDCP2 I show the change but PROCESS field is not X(so hasn't be processed). That also happens when I create a Material.
Could it be because in some materials I don't have, Plant, Sales organization, division?
If I run transaction BD40 for the group of materials, all these IDocs are generated. I check all the filters but I didn't see any. I need all the IDocs are generated always.
Any idea how?

not for all fields change pointer is activated. Go to se11 for MARA or other material relevant table which contains the fields you are looking for. Double click on data elements and go to tab further characteristic. The flag Change Document should be set for the field.

Windows sometimes don't redraw their contents

Sometimes, when I obscure a window by another one or switch desktops, some of my windows have "blank" areas. When I then force the window to redraw somehow, like by clicking on something that changes its content, the window gets back to normal. I've seen this happen for urxvt that uses Xlib directly, AFAIK, xfce4-panel that's GTK+ app and Kopete or KTorrent which use KDE toolkit -- so it doesn't seem to be related to any particular GUI toolkit. I can't really reproduce it either.

I don't really have an idea of what could be going on. I'm not running any compositor or anything else that gives fancy looks -- just plain OpenBox.
If you can point me in some direction, you'll be welcome.

The "empty" portions of the irssi and Kopete Contact List windows are wrong. The only modification to the picture I did was blurring the conversation -- otherwise it's what actually was on my screen.

Keyboard vol. keys sometimes don't work after 10.4.8 update.

After updating to 10.4.8, my keyboard vol. & mute keys work sometimes and sometimes not. I think it may have to do with the order I do things after startup. They either work the rest of the time until I shut down the computer or they don't (the status doesn't change while the computer is running). Any similar problems or suggestons for causes?

If you did not Repair Disk Permissions after your last install go ahead and do that. (Applications > Utilties Folder > Disk Utility).
If that does not fix it, boot from your install disk, go to the Utilities menu and open Disk Utility. Run Repair Disk.
Please let me know if the problem persists after the above procedures.

Why does fire outbound plugs sometimes don't work

Check in the window if you have created the navigation link between the views. After defining the plugs, only if the navigation link is created, the plug will be fired properly. This could have been missed, have a look.

Airport Express, sometimes printing, sometimes don't.

Hi people. I have a problem:
I have a printer connected to my airport express and most of the times when i send something for printing, no matter if it is from PC or Mac, the printer's light begins blinking and then stops, I often have to send the document twice for it to print, but sometimes it just prints fine in the first try. It's kind of weird because the blinking of the printer notifies me that the printer always receive the printing work but it stops and doesn't begin even to pull in the paper. Also i had this SAME problem with other printer I had. I have installed the printer with the most common drivers included from Apple, also tried from the CD but I don´t know if the computer selected the one from it, nevertheless i installed all the drivers and software from the CD to the computer.

My Ipod is crazy, sometimes works and sometimes don't

This started two days ago, I was looking for one song when my ipod got frozen, so I thought of letting my ipod on until the battery was empty, but ten minutes later my ipod started to play again.
The next day I couldn't use it in my computer, it didn't recognized my ipod at all, so I disconected it, but again it was frozen, and again three times after that my ipod got frozen.
Today again with the same problem, my ipod sometimes gets frozen and sometimes works fine. The only thing even strange than that is that at the time my ipod is frozen you hear like the hard drive is seeking for something but it sounds really bad, like if the hard drive is stuck with something, and when finally the ipod got unfrozen again the sound but this time much harder than the first time, that is always the same way.
Well I need the help of somebody who can give me a hand and I will really apreciate that, and sorry about my english I don't know if I made a mistake but sorry again and I will like your help with my ipod.

Ok, this is a different thread, but almost exactly explains what happened with mine:
"Backstory:
I let battery run all the way down to do a complete charge. Plugged it into computer and looked like it was charging eventhough it did not appear on the desktop. After ten min of charging or so, it restarted then shut down... then restarted and shut down.. repeatedly. It would go through about 5 of these "restarting" cycles before completely turning off... but then it would start the cycles again. It did this for about 30 min.
Finally after looking up some topics here, I decided to try disk mode. This was successful and I was able to charge the battery to full. BUT it still didn't appear on the desktop and I couldn't turn it on.
It is currently still in disk mode (with a check mark) with about half battery. (unplugged)"
So mine is also, still, in disk mode. I can plug the usb in and charge it, but i'm not sure whether to charge the battery or let it run out. I am also completely stuck in "Disk Mode" and I can't even reset it.
My computer recognizes when it is plugged in, because the little "safely remove hardware" dialog box comes up, but it does not recognise the IPOD. I have tried running the updater, it didn't recognise the iPod, and said "iPod service error". So I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the iPod about 3 times all together, but that didn't work either.
Right now it is in black and white, and it has a black checkmark (backlight will not turn on) and says "ok to disconnect"... even though the usb is not plugged in.
I just bought this last week for my birthday, so I am fairly new to iPod. But I am very good with most electronics, but this has me completely stumped..
I can press any button, or any button combination, and nothing happens. The only thing that is working is the "hold" slider and when I plug in the usb.
If you helped me fix this, I don't know how I could thank you.

E65 sometimes don't receive incoming call but can ...

Hello, i have a problem with the E65. My problem is random : sometimes, i can receive incoming call (but my phone is registered), my phone don't ring and no call is displayed. If i want i can call but i can't receive call. Then, it works five minute later or few time later. Have you an idea??
Can you explain me the parameter "whenn needed" for the voip registration? I use the "always connected" for that parameter.
On many phones, i sometimes loose the sip client. (i loose the registration) and few seconds later my phone is registering.
Can you explain it?

Spry Tooltips That Don't Extend The Page

I am working on an intranet based returns system, and I am having a problem with tooltips that are 600px wide. If the tooltip is triggered near the edge of the page the tooltip will make the page wider, causing a scrollbar appear. It is impossible to scroll the page due to the tooltip vanishing once you move the mouse away.
I can't see any options to prevent this from happening. Does anyone have any clever ideas?

Thanks for the suggestion, it appears you are getting around this by offsetting each tooltip. This works for you as your triggers are small and in known locations.
I am using a repeated table cell as the trigger to load html content into a panel which is the tooltip:

This means my tooltip can appear all over the place. I will a large negative offset and see if its just as functional.

i use itunes match with all my music and it works well.
but sometimes when i want to play a song i double-click it and nothing happens: i think itunes loads the muscic (the cloud-icon moves:).

Visited links sometimes don't change color, sometimes do, at the same sites.

I am using Firefox 4.0.1 under Win XP. Under Options/Content/Colors, the color of unvisited links are blue and visited links are purple. However, when I visit a link by clicking on it, the link temporarily changes color but after I visit the link and return to the original page, "'''''sometimes'''''" the link has reverted to its original blue (the unvisited color), and "'''''sometimes'''''" the color becomes the color it should be -- purple for a visited link. Using IE, the color always changes as it should.
