Top 10 Opportunities
How do I see the Fiscal Qtr, Fiscal Year, and Region drop down that are included in the Top 10 Opportunities report. I looked at it in design mode but I do not see where they are. I copied the report, because I need to change it to top 15, and I cannot find these prompts.
Can anyone help?
Those prompts are Dashboard Filters. These are not available in Release 14 outside of the pre-built reports and dashboards, so they are not editable. In Release 15 you will have the ability to create dashboard filters for your reports.
In the mean time, you can use column filter prompts. If you want to include a column filter prompt on a column that does not appear in your report anywhere, you can add an 'is prompted' filter to your report for that column. This will make the column available for you to build a prompt on.

I upgraded Firefox to 7 on my Win7 Pro 64 bit desktop yesterday. Today when I try to open a site in a new window, the window opens but I can't switch to it unless I actually minimize the first Firefox instance. Clicking on the second window just shows the first window again.

Advice needed on Hyperion Job Opportunities
Hello,
I'm trying to venture into Hyperion Consulting and I need some advice on Hyperion Job Opportunities. I thought this would be a good place to ask.
Let me give you my background. I have a Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, a Masters degree in Computer Science, and an MBA in Finance from a TOP 15 Business School in the U.S. I have been working as a Senior Financial Analyst for the past 5 yrs primarily doing Forecasting, Budgeting etc using Excel. I'm an advanced user of Excel proficient in vlookups, pivot tables etc. I've also used Hyperion sparingly to get budget and actuals numbers from the Hyperion system.
Now,I would like to get into Hyperion Consulting. I'm debating whether I should learn Hyperion Planning or HFM (Hyperion Financial Management) and I'm not able to decide. I want to base my decision on which one of these two systems (HFM/Hyperion Planning) has more job opportunities and pays a higher billing rate.
I've been told that job opportunities in HFM are much less than Hyperion Planning but the billing rates for HFM are higher than Hyperion Planning. Is this true?
I would really appreciate if anyone can advice me on this issue. It would be great if you could also provide me with the average billing rates for both HFM and Hyperion.

This topic is quite controversial for many consultants who chose to carry on with Planning. Let us be honest for a minute: As Planning consultants, we don't like HFM'ers much, but there is a reason behind it. They tend to perceive us like IT geeks. Well, you may argue that it's not particularly a bad thing but are we not more than that? Once I had a rather strange conversation with the head of HFM team in my previous firm. They were trying to hire someone to their team and interviewing a few people weekly but couldn't find anyone for a long time. I happened to ask him how it was going and he said: "well, you know, physical appearence and candidate's care for outfit is very important for us. We are not like you guys, we are dealing with CFOs and even CEOs s". I replied: "yeah, you are right, we do the design with janitors."
But on the contrary, most of the time Planning projects urge you to interact with a much larger community within the company than that of HFM's. I can say, for example, I have discussed with production unit heads about the processes involved in producing steel products, or petrochemicals. I have hands-on knowledge about telecommunication, insurance and government sectors. That's why it's so much fun for me and I love doing it.
About how well you make, it might be true that HFM consultants are paid little more than what Planning conultants are paid on initial grades. But as you move ahead in your carreer, the gap is closed. You can check monster or glassdoor yourself, Planning architects are paid more than HFM counterparts by a significant margin.
It's I think with little argument is a fact that, Planning requires you to be little more technical compared to HFM but in return you have more fun and gain more experience with it. It's a personal choice of course and I know people who does both. The world needs HFM'ers as much as it needs Planning consultants, well, maybe half as much.

My plan says that I get 500 minutes to any uk landline or O2 mobile from a registered post code for £10. Other things I suppose cost set amounts, such as text messages, or to other mobiles, and they are detailed in the tariffs.
Now, if I understand what you are saying, at the end of the month, if I have only made say 50 minutes of calls to uk landlines and nothing else, I would still have my £10 balance, but I would lose my remaining 450 minutes and any calls I made from then on would start getting charged to my £10 balance at the rates spelled out in the tariff?
If at the end of the second month, I still had say £4 left on my balance, would that still be good to keep calling or texting and getting charged at the rates spelled out in the tariff?
So it seems that I would not need to top up every month to be able to make calls or texts until I had run out of balance on my £10 top up?
Have I understood you correctly?
The way I make calls, that £10 could last me 5 or more months!
What I really need to be sure of is that I would still be able to use my 12 month free bolt on for internet using their cloud and bt openzone networks and use internet, email and maps without it getting charged to my top up balance. -
Reporting-Top 10 and Rank() function
Need to modify Top 10 Opportunities Pre-defined analysis report. In doing so, we loose the drop down Fiscal Qtr/Year. The only option is to create a Pivot table, and use Fiscal Qtr/Year as a selector. The issue is that I need to be able to retrieve the Top 10 for every Quarter/Year. What is happening now is that the report is pulling Top 10 Opportunities for the entire report, and when we select the Fiscal Quarter/Year, if a Top 10 Opportunities exists, it will return a record(s). If not, it returns 0. Need Top 10 for every quarter.
The Rank function is used. How do I achieve this using this functionality?

Following information might be helpful in resolving the issue.
General Syntax of Ranking :
Rank( measure; (dimensions); [Top|Bottom])
Here is the work flow with an example :- (use efashion universe )
1) Create a webi report selecting objects quarter, year, sales revenue and create a cross tab
2) While creating a cross tab, use the Object Year in columns and object Quarter for rows.
3)Define a variable Var1 = Rank ([Sales Revenue] ; [Quarter]; [Year]) ForEach ([Year])
4) Insert a blank column next to year in the cross tab.
5) Drag and drop the variable Var1 in the new blank column inserted next to Object Year..
You will now find that you have ranking for the years 2001, 2002, 2003 being reflected
independently.

You should be able to create your own recently created list by adding additional filters. -
I also am having a problem with the songs I purchased using the laptop not showing on the desk top itunes, even though it is authorized to do so. The new songs did show up on the iPad iTunes, however. Have no idea why. I thought this happened automatically.

Report for CRM-Opportunities - Open CRMD_ORDER for selected ALV row
Hello,
i created a report which can be used to find the relevant opportunities and list them in a ALV table.
I have the requirement that by doubleclick on the table line the selected opportunity shall open in tx crmd_order.
I have the GUID and the object_id of the opportunity in my ALV tableline.
Has anybody already experience how to achieve this?

I cannot open Pages from the app or from a saved document on the desk top. I get an error: "The application Pages cannot be opened -1712" Any suggestions?

I cant get iTunes to open on my macbook pro, when I click on the icon it shows the iTunes name on the top of the page but the library wont open , and when I click the tabs it doesnt do anything. What can I do? Its driving me insane!!

Trying to get an old iMac up to be enough for my four year old to go on the internet. Upgraded to panther and put an airport card in. Now problems;
1. It can connect to my airport express, but not if I have the password enabled, then it won't, even if I put the password in.
2. There are 3 hard drives showing on the desk top, with the space divided between them.
3. I've been trying to download an old version of flash, but it never finishes and says it can't write the file or something like that. I kind of think it has to do with the file being to large and since the hard drive is divided, it won't fit.
Let me know if anybody can help and thank you for your time....Your old iMac can only connect to a WEP network, and yours is probably WPA. As far as the partitions are concerned, if you don't need any any of the data on it, use your Panther disc and erase and fomat it as one partition.

My family uses a single lap-top as our home computer and several of us have i-pods that we like to synch, using I-tunes. Although we've tried to create separate I-tune accounts, our i-tunes playlists are getting wiped out when one of us deletes songs on our I-pod and it seems as though I-tunes is not distinguishing our distinct accounts and all i-pods are being synched to reflect the latest i-pod anyone makes on their respective account. It appears as though our distinct I-tune accounts are not being loaded on our lap-top when we sign in and unfortunately, when we're in I-tunes, there is nothing to indicate what account is on the screen. For all the glowing appraisals apple-related products usually receive, we are finding i-tunes and its interface with our respective i-pods to be a very, very frustrating experience.
Can anyone shed some light on this for a family of non-techies? Thx
Pegger64You need to create separate Windows user accounts if you want to seperate the behaviour of iTunes for each user. That also means separate iTunes libraries for each user.
Windows is a multi-user operating system but you are not using it properly. iTunes is not a multi-user application. No application is. You can't expect it to treat different users differently when they are all using the same computer user account.

Please change the view in the top sites, the 6.1 upgrade has reverted back to a plain two-dimensional view, which is a little dated. Can I revert back to an older version via my time capsule save? C'mon Apple upgrades supposed to leap into the future not the past. :-(
