Top Console User Threshold

Hello,
I'm looking around and having trouble finding what I need. I've seen on posts online that the top console user threshold audits the security log for who's logged onto the device 66%, 75% of the time, etc.. I'm wondering if that can be adjusted? We have a lot
of devices that report as unknown for top console user because they're truly not used that often, but still needed.

Looking for an easy way to tie a primary user to workstations, the probably we have is some are shared. But v_gs_computersystem.username0 looks like it can give us a good place to start, but would run into an issue with shared devices. Was going to
use top console user and if it's an unknown user the value from the username0 data.

  • Read-Only Console user

    Hi all!
I would like to introduce a read-only console user on our weblogic 6.1 SP1 app
server! Does anyone know how to configure such a user (respectively can anyone
give me a docu reference according to this problem)?
    Is it possible anyway?
    Thanks for every serious response,
    Chris.

Add the user to the Monitors group, so they have the Monitor role. This will
give them read-only access to the console.

  • Report for workstation profile last modified timestamp / Hardware 05A - Console users on a specific computer

SCCM 2012 has a report called Hardware 05A - Console users on a specific computer .
I have configure Asset Intelligence to collect the SMS_SystemConsoleUser, but I get no information back from this report.
What else needs to be configured to see information about who has used a machine?
The goal is to determine what machines have used a particular administrative logon account and when it was last used on a machine (profile last modified date).
    Thanks.

    There are two prerequisites, see:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg712306.aspx
modify the Windows Security event log settings on clients to log all Success logon events
enable the SMS_SystemConsoleUser hardware inventory reporting class

  • Umask is wrong running unix command as current console user?

ARD3.1 Admin on intel mac, Clients all v 3.1 PPCs
If I ssh to a remote machine or use ARD Unix command as the logged-in console user joeuser and enter 'touch /myfile' the permissions are
    -rw-r--r-- 1 joeuser admin 0 Apr 27 10:40 myfile
but if i am directly on the machine and do it the result is
    -rw-rw-r-- 1 joeuser admin 0 Apr 27 10:42 myfile
Is this expected behavior? How about the group membership? If I execute the same commands in ~/ the results are:
    -rw-r--r-- 1 joeuser av 0 Apr 27 10:40 myfile
and again when i am directly on the machine and do it the result is
    -rw-rw-r-- 1 joeuser av 0 Apr 27 10:42 myfile
where av is the group as defined in netinfo.
the NSUmask value in /Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist was set to integer 2 in all cases on the client machines.
I'm new to this board, so my apologies if this question belongs in a different one.

Please discard the above msg i got a solution by just adding file.delete

  • No console user

    Hi,
I have a network of iMac's here and having trouble with a single iMac.
Whenever I try to run a unix command as a user, or try to copy a file to a user, it will work for all iMac's but one.
The iMac in question is a standard desktop, and used the same as all the others.
When issuing unix commands, I can use 'root' fine, and I can easily use the observe/control mode to interact with the box.
I can also use unix commands on the correct user, if i manually pass her username as a parameter.
The list view which lists data about each computer, shows the user as being logged in, and even shows the application they have running.
The error I always get is:
    "No console user".
So my question is, why do I get this error, even when there is a user activly using the computer at the exact time I run the command.

dose rebooting the effected cleint stop the issue?
dose deleted the computer and re-adding it to ARD resolve issue?
have you tried forcing the client to report in? (get info on the client in ARD,setting the reporting time to a few minutes from the current time, then waiting a few minutes so reporting can run)
If you get the IP on the effected computer, do you see any other computer reords with the same IP?
have you tried turning ARD off on the effected computer and turning it back on? (not just off, but unchecking every thing and then rechecking every thing)
if you swap the jack being used, dose that effect the issue? (ie computer1 plugged into jack a works, computer2 plugged into jack b dose not. swap the jacks so comptuer1 is on jack b and computer2 is on jackA, dose computer2 now work)

  • SQL query to find top 5 users having more rows/data in table

    Dear experts,
    OS = HP-UX
    Database = Oracle 9.2.0.8
    AC users = 600
    Ex:-
    select * from all_users where username like 'AC%';
    AC_1
    AC_2
    AC_3
    AC_4
    AC_5
    AC_6
    AC_.
    AC_.
    AC_.
    AC_600
Each AC user having same tables INCOMING, OUTGOING
Now i need to find top 5 users having more rows/data in INCOMING , OUTGOING tables. I tried this:
    SQL>conn AC_1/pwd
    select 'select count(*) from '||table_name||';' from user_tables;
But i get max counts info only for this AC_1 user , however, i need top 5 users having more rows/max counts query.
    Thank you,

  • # of Attendant Console Users that CCM 3.3 can handle

We have been told by various Cisco Sources that CCM 3.3 can handle unlimited Attendant Console Users and installs. Yet, other Cisco Sources say that CCM 3.3 can only handle up to a fixed amount. So which one is true?

I don't see any such restrictions mentioned in any document. I guess it all depends on the number of device weights a CCM can manage. You may like to verify the same from

  • Get current active desktop console user

    Hi,
I am googling for some time trying to find a way to determine UserID
of user using the physical console. I am after a command that can be
    run from terminal, ssh, cron.
"who" shows all users logged in with Fast user switching,
all of them on 'console' but I see no way to figure out who is
the one using the desktop that time.
Many hits point to CGSession, but so far I was not able find the options
to get the ID of current console user. It is certain that this binary has
access to the value, because when trying -switchToUserID it can respond with:
Unable to Fast User Switch: User must be the current console user or root.
Is there any way to find out current console user? Would appreciate also
a pointer to some library I can call from C and printf the value.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Your post was 100% to the point. Thanks a million. I was hoping there would be a binary in the system already to provide the info needed, so this forum appeared the most appropriate. So far I've never compiled my C program on a Mac but with the info from published documents it was a snap:

  • Get top 3 User with most List Items

    Hi all,
I have 3 lists and I want to display in a WepPart the top 3 User with most created Items.
Say we have U1, U2 and U2 -user that have created some list items in List A. User U1 has the most list items, so it will appear at first position,... and so on, ok?
Top 3 User for List A
    U1
    U2
    U3
Does someone have done this task alredy?
    thanks for any suggestions
    Regards,

You should be able to use a Content Search Web Part to build a query scoped to those lists to provide this information. Here is one article I quickly found showing it and many others out there that should help you get on your way.

  • Amount of Attendant Console users

Hi, we're in the process of upgrading CUCM from 7.1.5 to 8. By doing this we're losing the free AC. We're trying to get a firm number of AC users so we know how many licenses we need to buy. Is there a way to see how many AC users we have? I went to the applications uers, selected the AC group but we have close to 60 controlled devices. This number is no where near accurate.

You can find the list of users under the Application -> Cisco Unified CM Attendant Console -> Cisco Unified CM Attendant Console User menu in call manager.  Please note this may not reflect the current number of active users being used, so remember to filter out what old users you may have.

    Tom singin, she want to query A2,A3,A4;
    Cherry singin, she want to query A3;

  • How do I create admin console users with full access to configuration and the directory in every instance?

I want to be able to create directory user ID for the iPlanet administrators. They should be able to access the admin console and all the instances created. They should be able to configure each instance and directory. I was able tocreate Admin Server Administrators but they were only able to modify the directory(tab) and not the configurations(tab). Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks.
    Keith

    Hi Keith,
In o=netscaperoot, edit the static group called cn=Configuration Administrators, ou=Groups, ou=TopologyManagement, o=NetscapeRoot - this group contains the admins peer to your config admin. Since the console is quirky and doesn't let you add in users not in netscaperoot, just click advanced and put in the full dn of whoever you want in by hand, e.g., uid=scarter, ou=people, dc=mydomain,dc=com as a static member. then rebind to the console with the full dn and passwd, and away you go :)

  • Shared Services Console - User is not authorized for the action

    Hi,
I have installed Essbase 11.11.3 and configured on Linux. I started EPM and then the Shared Services Console. I created a new group Poweruser and assigned a new user to it. I provisioned the group withall the rights of the admin. This all works.
When I log on with the new user on the Shared Service Console and go to Essbase Studio Server and click on the Essbase Studio Server application it gives me the message:
User is not authorized for the action
This is the same message as I get under the user admin. Can anyone tell me what I can possibly do to make it work.
The service for EAS is started properly. The one thing that is not configured is HBR.
    Patrick

    Hi,
What are you trying to achieve, provision a user for essbase studio ?
EAS is a separate product from Studio.
