Top Level folder doesn't show lowver level pictures - Lightroom2

I have my pictures stored by year and location on a hard drive    example
2009
    Heaven
       April
    Hell
         April
As I remember each upper level would show the counte of sub folders which allowed me to do sorts on ratings and the like
Now only the bottom most folder has the count..

    Heaven       0
       April        20
    Hell            0
         April      5
I tried importing everything into a new catalog with np luck.. ONly the bottom most folers seems to have the count
how did I break it??

You have to enable include photos in subitems (I think that was the name) in one of the menus in Library.

Photos that were synced from a computer won't show for copying to a computer. If you want to copy them back then you will need a third-party app on your phone such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to a device, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer (e.g. their dimensions might be different and their colours may look a bit different).

VIP folder doesn't show emails on Mavericks

My VIP folder doesn't show any VIP mail in my inbox. They're there but VIP folder doesn't work. I've no rules in Mail.app or in iCloud. Re-building or re-indexing doesn't work. I can access to the folder, but it's empty. I've my Mac fully updated. It works on my iPhone, but not on my Mac.

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A folder window will open. Inside it there should be files with names as follows:
Envelope Index
ExternalUpdates.storedata
Move those files to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have longer names that begin as above. Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is damaged and that Mail has to quit. Click OK. Typically, the process takes a few minutes, but it may take hours if you have gigantic mailboxes. In that case, you may be able to speed things up by temporarily adding your home folder to the Privacy list in the Spotlight preference pane. Remove it when Mail has finished importing.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the files you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

Member selection doesn't show lower levels

When you are using member selection, it only shows the top level, no members are shown at all

What about the Essbase version?
The conflict comes in on the server. The Java API, since about v7.2, has been progressing towards using pure Java calls to the Essbase server. Earlier versions wrapped the C APIs on the server.
Until recently, there was a setting to force the Java API to revert to using the C-APIs. Generally, we adjusted this setting only when the Essbase version and the Java API version were not exactly the same (and sometimes even then if we saw anything that didn't behave as we thought it should.
The setting, olap.service.direct, is not in the 9.3.1 essbase.properties file. Further, the directory containing the C API files is no longer installed as part of the APS installation.
Is APS also 9.3.1? Do you see anything in your APS logs? Note that, by default, APS no longer logs information to standard out (where error messages are sometimes printed). My BB accidently disconnected from the usb cord while I was copying a music file. Now the computer wont let me use it. The Blackberry usb folder doesn't show anymore. How do I fix that?

My phone is connected because you can see the phone is charging but there is nothing on the conputer showing me that i can access the files on my blackberry. I noticed right after the accident a Blackbery( L: ) file appeared on the 'my computer' folder with nothing in it- it was there without the usb connection from my phone(well, the connection to my pc from my phone didnt work from then on anyway). I thought it was peculiar so i deleted it. I was having second thoughts so i tried to retrieve it but its not in the Recycle Bin. How do I fix this problem, please help me!

Parent folder doesn't show the number of pics in subfolders

I organized my pictures in folders like this: Bilder/2014/Examples until today I've seen the number of all pictures in the subfolders behind "Bilder" now there is 0 although all pics are still there. What happened?

"Home" Folder doesn't show

I had formatted my macbook pro with mac lion OSX installed from usb drive and everything went well except the major issue that I am unable to see "Home" folder with house icon in finder sidebar. Infact, application icon also couldnt be seen in dock. Tried formatting system several times but in vain

Edit screen won't show me my pictures to edit. Full screen goes black.

My first mac. Trying to import pictures from my external drive (FAT32) I imported all my photos, all looks fine, however, when I try to edit one, It takes me to the edit screen with all the photos in the event on top, but it doesn't show the photo I'm trying to edit. I even tried to look at photos fullscreen, and I get the black screen with the top and bottom bars, but no photo on the screen, and after a second, it just all goes black. Interesting thing though, is that I can play a slide show. Has anyone ever had this issue, any help for this newb will be greatly appreciated.

It could be a permissions thing. Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select the option to repair permission of the library.
Post back with the results.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

Adding permissions at top level folder

Let's say your top-level folder is d:\filestore\ You add Domain Admins to it with Full Control.
If the sub-folders have maintained inheritance of the perms from that folder then you're good.
However, if any of the subfolders have broken permissions, either by removing all permission and adding new ones or by copying the permissions and adding additional ones, then you're kinda screwed. Enforcing inheritance of the perms from your top level folder on that mess will almost certainly obliterate the existing permissions.
If you're semi-lucky you might be get away with finding a number of folders that you can apply the perms to that will then propagate to the rest.
If you're really unlucky, and it sounds like you are, then you may have to apply the permissions to many individual folders.

I have just migrated to a new 2012 R2 server and have my AD and file server on separate VM's. The previous server had the local Administrators group listed, but now I need to add the Domain Admins group to the top level of the folder tree and have that pass down throughout all other folders. But I don't want it to overwrite the existing permissions. Is there any way to do this?
The folder structure is insane and I want to redo it a better way, but that will take time and the OK from management. There are so many "individual" users added to many folders that it is currently impossible to keep track of.

How to Delete Top Level Folder

I have a number of files in a hierarchy of folders and I wish to delete the top level folder but leave in place all the sub folders and files contained therein. There are only folders (no files) under the top level folder. Specifically, I do not want to just select and drag and drop all the subfolders.
Any help on how to do this appreciated.

First, to clarify the term - there are traditional VS projects (C# project, VB project, etc.) and with Team Foundation there are now Team Projects. Given the question, I take it you mean team projects (as created with the "New Team Project" option and going through the Project Creation Wizard).
When you create a team project called "foo", the folder for that project (assuming you had it create a folder during the Project Creation Wizard, which is the default) will be called $/foo. Based on your question, I take it you're referring to a folder called "bar" that would be at server path $/foo/bar since it's part of the "foo" team project.
The easiest way to rename or delete such a folder would be to bring up the Source Control Explorer (View | Other Windows | Source Control Explorer) and navigate to that folder. You'll want to make sure that you have the folder in your local workspace (this is a limitation when have in V1) so you may want to right-click on "bar" and do a "get latest version" first. If you don't already have it mapped, you'll be prompt to pick a local path to map it to.
When you right-click on the folder "bar" (once you have it in your workspace), among the entries in the context menu will be Delete, Rename (for the "rename to oranges" case), and Move (for "move it to another folder"). Note that each of these pends the operation on the workspace, and you'll need to check in before the change is committed to source control.

Searching for a folder in document library doesn't work properly if the folder is at the root level.

I have a folder named FS0 on my sharepoint 2013 site. The folder is the first level folder under
Default Document library (Shared Documents). When I search for FS0 on the sharepoint site, the search result give a link to home.aspx and not the folder. If I search for any folder that is a second level folder in the library, I get a search result that takes
me inside the folder on clicking it. In my case, I search for a folder named FS1 which directly under FS0. The search result takes me inside FS1 in this case. How can I make the search result display proper links for root level folders also?<o:p></o:p>

Hi Pranava,
I couldn't reproduce this issue, when I create root folder FS0 in "Shared Documents" and start a full crawl, I click the FS0 link from search results page, it will open the FS0 folder as well as folder under FS0.
Please right-click the FS0 name hyperlink (e.g. mine is http://sp/Shared%20Documents/FS0) and paste in IE browser see if it could be accessed successfully.
Also test if other Shared Documents have this issue in other site collection or web applications, if not, run a full crawl may do a trick (please reset search index if only full crawl still doesn't work).

A particular recording session shows dancing level meters but no output!

only this garageband project is behaving like this. i've opened other projects and listened to itunes and it all works. this particular project shows the level meters and compression lights and everything else as it's playing. each track shows it's producing sound. the master track is right in the middle as always. even the master track EQ analyzer shows something is playing. however, the level meter on the top right of the application is blank. it's turned up, but it's not showing a level. it's the only level meter/signal indicator light in the entire program that is NOT lit up. i cannot figure out where the problem is. i've restarted garageband, restarted my computer, saved the project as another name and re-opened it, etc. i'd open it in the old version of garageband but due to the AU's i've used, it would totally wreck the project. i suppose i could do it and have the AU's bypassed just to see if it plays, and then remix/remaster the whole thing. but i'd like to avoid that. any tips?

Thanx for the info. However i think it's not indicating audio level. ie it displays the same level for all tracks regardless of what level the actual track audio is!
They just click up and down a few bars on every channel that has any audio on it. It is almost as though they are monitoring a click or metronome level because it is very regular. It doesn't coincide with hard drive usage but is a similar regular pulse as that.
I have noticed that if there is no audio at all on a certain track then the level meter doesn't appear at all. Not sure if that's any help or not.

Google Docs page freezes in FF 4.0 and 3.16 versions and it doesn't show the collection or folder names on the left side of the page .

Google Docs page freezes and it shows the files in the main page. However, it doesn't show the collection or folder on the left side of the page. It shows "Loading" on top of the page and it stays with "Loading" display forever. Chrome doesn;t have any such problem. I would like to use FF for google docs if it works. This happened only after I changed to FF 4.0. Now, I went back to 3.16 and it shows the same behavior as 4.0 version. Any help will be appreciated.

I'm replying to my own question in hopes that it'll push my post to the top of any lists to garner some sort of response.
