Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: Command+Shift+F).

  • Top menu bar has disappeared. Unable to maximize or minimize or close using mouseclick

The menu bar at the top that has a red dot and a max/minimize button next to that has disappeared, and the browser now completely blocks the menu bar I usually have at the bottom of my screen that allows me to tab between applications.

    Hello Ben.
If you could provide me with a [http://www.wikihow.com/Take-a-Screenshot-of-the-Entire-Screen screenshot], that would be perfect. In any case, if it's just a matter of the Menu Bar being gone, press ALT or F10 in your keyboard to make it temporarily visible. If you want it to be permanently visible, go into ''View > Toolbars > Menu Bar'', or right-click the Navigation Toolbar (the Reload button, for example) and select ''Menu Bar''.
If this doesn't help, right-click the navigation toolbar, select ''Customize...'' and click ''Restore Default Set''. If it doesn't appear right away, try pressing ALT or F10. You can go into ''View > Toolbars > Menu Bar'' to make it permanently visible, or right-click the Navigation Toolbar and select ''Menu Bar''.
If it's something else, it's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and themes and [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+plugins this one] for plugins.
If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author.
If the problem is not disappears when all add-ons are disabled, please tell me, so we can work from there. Please have no fear of following my instructions to the line, as all can be easily undone.

  • Top menu bar icons disappearing when clicking on Spotlight (wi-fi, date, user, spotlight) on Mountain Lion?

    Hi!
Something very strange started happening. When I click the spotlight icon on the top bar, all system apps icons disappear and then reapear.
I've also seen this happen without me clicking the spotlight icon.
I'm using a iMac 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 with 8 GB of RAM using Mountain Lion (10.8).
Any idea of what this is?
    I've attached a screenshot:
    Thanks!
    Patricia

    Well, I self-answer.
Following advices found on very old threads here (like this), I understood one possible cause could be some incompatibility of the extras in menu bar. I tried removing Bluetooth extra and also the volume controller (that I never use), and it seems, after a few days, the problem is no more present.

  • My Menu bar has disappeared and it does not show up in any menu for toolbars

I must have hit a wrong shortcut or something.
My bookmarks bar and menu bar disappeared.
I was able to restore the bookmarks bar in customize the usual way.
But in every place I can get the little toolbar menu, it only shows the Bookmarks bar, not the the Menu bar
How can I get my menu bar back???

    # Press''' Alt '''or '''F10''' t o see '''Menu bar'''
    # Click on '''View '''>> '''Toolbar''' and mark '''Menu bar'''
*Or right click in empty space on navigation bar and mark '''Menu bar'''.
*Or go to '''Customize tab''' at bottom click on '''Show/Hide Toolbar''' button and mark '''Menu bar'''
Also have sure you aren't in '''Full Screen''' Mode, you can alternate using '''F11 '''or going to''' View''' menu and unmark '''Full Screen''' option.

  • ITunes 10 top menu bar dissapeared

    Hi all,
I recently tried out a few apps to delete duplicates in iTunes - iDupe and Dupin. I wasn't really happy with either, so I removed both apps. Now, when I click on the iTunes Library -> Music view, I get all my music in a list, but the right hand top menu bar has disappeared. Then when I scroll down the list, the music list scrolls through the top part of the window where the menu bar with search, view options and info window should be. The left hand top menu bar with volume, play, etc. is still there. This is only in the music view, all other views work normally.
I tried reinstalling iTunes 10, but the problem remains.
Any ideas how to fix this would be much appreciated.

    Update:
I tried this suggestion to place the 3 window optimizing buttons back on the top of the window:
    http://www.macdailynews.com/index.php/weblog/comments/howto_fix_apples_itunes_10s_minimize_maximize_closebuttons/
Now, I have the 3 buttons at the top and a narrow, grey menu bar at the top of the right menu bar - but the main part of the right top menu bar is still missing, including the functionalities mentioned.

    Problem solved.
I just used the menu "View" to switch between views, and suddenly the top bar of my window is visible in all views.

  • The location bar has disappeared from the top of any tab that I open. How can I get it back?

The location bar has disappeared from the top of any tab I open, so there is nowhere to type in a web address. Could I have accidentally made this happen? How do I get it back?

Just to be clear, it's not below the tab bar either? (That's the new style in Firefox 4 and 5.)
To hide or show toolbars, you can use the old View menu.
If you have the orange Firefox button, tap the Alt key to temporarily display the classic menu bar.
View menu > Toolbars > ''check'' Navigation Toolbar
If you are viewing the navigation toolbar but it's incomplete or corrupted, you can reset your toolbars.
View menu > Toolbars > Customize
In the large dialog with the icons, toward the bottom, click Restore Default Set.
    Does any of that help?

  • Top menu bar disappears

The problem that I am having is after my mac sits idle for awhile it seems to freeze up. I can move the cursor with the mouse but if I attempt to open anything in the dock it doesn't respond. If I try to quit a program on the dock by holding down the mouse and press quit, the top menu bar disappears and I can't shutdown the computer unless I hold the power button in. This seems to be a relatively new problem, within the last couple of months. Anyone have the same problem and are there any solutions?

This seems to be a relatively new problem, *within the last couple of months.*
Please describe in detail all you have attempted to do in order to resolve the issue during those _last couple of months._ Don't want any of the users here duplicating things you have already tried.
How large is your hard drive and how much hard drive space do you have left?
    Have you tried the following?
Disconnect all peripherals from your computer. Boot from your install disc & run _*Repair Disk*_ from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
    Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
    Select *Disk Utility.*
Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click *First Aid.*
    Click _*Repair Disk.*_
    Restart your computer when done.
Repair permissions after you reach the desktop-http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25751 and restart your computer.

  • When I click iphoto it hops and the top menu bar comes up but that is it no files and albums come up it just has my front page pic

When I click iphoto it hops and the top menu bar comes up but that is it no files and albums come up it just has my front page pic

A good general step for strange issues is to renew the iPhoto preference file - quit iPhoto and go to "your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist and trash it - launch iPhoto which creates a fresh new default preference file and reset any personal preferences you have changed and if you have moved the iPhoto library repoint to it. This may help
This does not affect your photos or any database information (keywords, faces, places, ratings, etc) in any way - they are stored in the iPhoto library - the iPhoto preference file simply controls how iPhoto works - which is why renewing it is a good first step.

  • Where has my top menu bar 'Logic pro x, file, edit, track, etc' gone?

Yes, a noob question but your assistance would be appreciated as I am trying to rewire Reason through Logic.
The top menu bar was there, but now it is not.
    Where is it hidden please?

In the screenshot you provided Logic Pro X is running in Full Screen Mode not Windowed mode
When looking at the main Logic Pro X screen... If you move your mouse pointer to the very top of the screen the menu bar should drop down and appear
    If it does not then...
To put Logic Pro X into Windowed mode when looking at Logic Pro X press  Control + Command + F together....
Now you should see the Logic Pro X  menu bar at the top of the screen
It will look something like this...

  • Please Help SL - Everything 'quits unexpectedly' and top menu bar flashing

Please Help. Snow Leopard - Everything 'quits unexpectedly' and top menu bar flashing.
Basically, I have been using snow leopard for about 1-2 weeks now without any problems, apart from the strange trackpad expose glitch, but I can live with that. But a new problem has arisen that I CANNOT live with. Basically I plugged in my MiniDisplay > VGA adaptor and a Wacom internet tablet for the first time. And when it booted up rather than just the usual spinning gear, their was a progress bar as-well. Then it booted into Safe Mode.?
Everything was fine in safe mode apart from spotlight didn't work properly so I rebooted and this time it loaded normally. EXCEPT about 5 minutes after I logged on the top menu bar started to flash on and off about ever 1-2 seconds and virtually every single application would quit unexpectedly before even loading. I haven't really looked into it apart from a quick search on google which doesn't seem to bring up anything similar, but atm I am having to use my bootcamp partition with windows installed (shock horror :D) just so I can browse the internet.
    Additional details -
I have tried resetting PRAM + NVRAM with no joy
While logging on (before it crashes), menu items (e.g. Airport, Battery Indicator, Facebook Notifier) all load up on the far right BEFORE the clock, which never happened before the problem, don't know if this will help isolate the problem, but its worth mentioning..
Don't really want to go down the fresh install route if possible, as I did this with leopard about 2 months before Snow Leopard was released

I noticed it some weeks after installing Snow Leopard, and didn't think much about it since I have a Wacom mouse, and the Wacom driver often has some little peculiarities at startup with the Mac OS--sometimes everything is perfectly ordinary, there will be an OS update and a little oddness shows up, the driver eventually gets updated and the oddness disappears until some other OS update, and so on. I just figured that was what it was until my brother asked about the missing the menu bar after startup, which reappears with a click. He doesn't use a Wacom mouse, but he does have some other 3rd party mouse. I don't know whether 3rd party mouse drivers are at fault or not. But it is not a problem with the SystemUIServer.....the entire menu bar is missing, not just a goof-up on the Spotlight end, where SystemUIServer is in charge of things. Since simply clicking the mouse brings the menu bar up I've never even bothered to check the logs to see if anything is noted there.
