Top of words cut off in MSword docs.

In word docs, the top of the words are cut off. This does not happen in Quickbooks invoices. I have cleaned & aligned cartridges, cleaned paper tray. Any suggestions

I see that the top of words are cut off when printing from MS Word. I am happy to help you with this printing issue!
For further assistance, I will need to know:
The Product/Model Number of your printer. Follow instructions in this link. Finding Your HP Product Model Number.
If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer is connected, Wireless, Ethernet, or USB.
If the printer is able to make copies by itself.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.

IMessages to an iPhone occasionally appears with words cut off from end

When sending texts from iMessages to an iPhone, the text occasionally appears on their iPhone with a couple words cut off from the end. It appears fine in the iMessages display/history.   Here's a few things I've noticed:
- It's repeatable. For example, the following message always causes the issue: "man, why are you here? Two are in testing places". On the iPhone it appears as "man, why are you here? Two are in testing".
- It's a problem with iMessages. If I send the exact same text from the iPhone, it goes through just fine. The message has to originate from MacOS iMessages. (I'm using the latest Mountain Lion and all updates as of 12/21/12)
- The full message is actually being successfully transferred to the phone; it just does not display correctly. There are two pieces of evidence for this. If on the iPhone, the user copies the truncated message and pastes it somewhere else, the full message is pasted! Moreover, on the top level the messages app (where you see the last message from all the recent people you texted with), the full message displays.
- It can happen with both short and longer messages.   Here's another longer message I noticed got cut off: "That's funny that you though I was joking when I said I was debugging. Why is that so weird?"
- It has something to do with the length of the message or how it is being wrapped. I can create modifications of those texts with the same length, and they will cut off. (That said, some modifications will not cause the problem, so it's more than just length. Maybe it has something to do with how it wraps the words?) Usually adding a few words to the message will allow it to go through.
- It always cuts off at a space. In other words, it will not truncate something in the middle of a word.
- I have only seen it cut off one or two words before.
Apple really needs to make this a high priority fix. Unreliable messaging of this sort is a deal-breaker for iMessages, IMO. My guess is that they haven't had more reports for this because people simply don't notice unless the last word or two totally ruins the meaning of a text and the other person points it out.
Can people try to recreate this on their machines? If so, please do so and file a bug report (http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html). All you have to do is get on your iMessage app and text one of those two messages to your phone. If it appears truncated on your phone, you've confirmed it. You're welcome to use any of my post in any bug report.

I had seen these in Quicklook at the point where the Message appeared to show double spaces after a Full Stop or Question Mark.
You are right that it have not dawned on me that I had not seen them between words.
It was TextEdit as well (Not sure why I said QuickLook)

Part of this means the iMessages sent out.
The "repeat" is the sync back from the the ID the iPhone is using.
I am presuming the leading numbers are the iMessage identifier that iMessages uses to tell whether it has been Synced
Messages on the Mac is trying to enclose this in Coloured Balloon (or other style) and lists a Font and it's colour

It is unlikely to be the Tab key as this changes Fields in Messages (From Text Entry spot, to Search spot, to the "To" spot.)

Calendar - Top of Text Cut Off

Hi all. Just recently, the top of all event title text in Calendar is cut off. And the words up on top has shifted up, I believe it used to be centered in its boxes. I'm referring to what I see on the screen of my MacBook Pro Retina, NOT in printed documents. Here's a sample. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Oops, I mean that the BOTTOM of the text is cut off.

When printing a file the 2nd, 3rd, etc pages have the top two lines cut off. What can I do?

When printing webpages from a website on Firefox the top two lines of pages 2, 3, 4, etc are cut off. I printed the same website article on Safari and have no problem. I also checked out Word documents of more than one page and found no problems with pages 2, 3, etc. I tried to print other articles from Firefox from other websites and found the same problem. I spent an hour with HP tech support for my printer and could not find any problems with the printer. Something is up with Firefox. Please help???

Words cut off at bottom of page

I have a nicely formated document and on some pages the words get cut off at the bottom when the linespacing pushes them right to the bottom margin. The footer is fine just below it. How can I fix that?

Yes there are facing pages, each is 8.5x5" and there are about 45 pages to the document. I switched to non-facing pages and that didn't fix the problem. It only happens on pages where the line goes right to the bottom edge. It's almost as though the setting that would push that line to the next page is slightly off. I tried other fonts and the same thing happens. It shows up in the exported .pdf file and also when I print it so it's not a display issue.
I hate to say it, but I think it's a bug. I'm surprised it hasn't happened to anyone else. Since it only happens on 3 or 4 pages out of the 45, I'll do a hack. Once everything else is totally layed out, I'll slightly adjust the line spacing somewhere on each of the problem pages so that the line pulls up above the cut off.

Top of video cut off

I have just loaded iMovie for iPhone 4 & have built a few projects. ALL of the video is resized to smaller & by doing so, the video is cut off at the top. Any ideas??? (the original clips are full size, nothing cut off)

Are you editing "tall" videos into a "wide" project?
And are you looking at the final video or a preview, rather then the small edit window?

Top of image cut off when printed

I used Aperture to print a borderless 4x6 on borderless paper. In the print preview, the entire image was there (a close-up of Detroit Tiger Verlander with his hat on). Then I printed and the top 10-20% of his hat was cut off.
But then I ordered an online print through Aperture of the same photo just as I set up to print from my printer. The print was sent to me without being clipped at the top.
Anyone know why this clipping happens when I print the picture? I quadruple checked all the settings.

You may want to check on the printer driver and paper size selected

the entire top part of the app is cut off? i opened rebooted cloesed its just missing. I cant scroll up to click the tabs for metadata, projects, or adjustments. I have a screen shot if that will help. let me know

Try changing your display's resolution.
Or use the 'Zoom' function in the Window menubar.

Tops of Photos Cut Off in Slideshow

In a slideshow, when showing a photo that has been taken with a DSLR tilted 90 degrees (i.e., so that the long axis is vertical, such as for tall buildings), I cannot get the top of the photo to show. Even if I pull the photo down using the hand tool (with or without the Ken Burns Effect) the top of the photo is cut off. Is there something I am doing wrong or some trick, or is this a known issue with iPhoto 6.?

Thank you. I am still having trouble. Following the directions for "Setting Pan and Zoom in Slide Show" still doesn't get me what I want. I am supposed to push Burns effect then Start and place pointer/hand on screen to start shot. It asks me to drag to place I want to begin pan; then press End and drag to spot where I'd like to end. I have cropped photos so I do not use the zoom feature but when following instructions nothing happens or as in one instance I dragged to left edge of screen and wanted it to pan to right and then pressed End and dragged hand to right. The only thing that happened in Preview was a very slight movement up and down (not left to right).In another instance, Preview played two different pans over and over neither of which I had tried to create(!). I have also just tried to place hand on one end (no dragging) then clicked End and placed hand at destination...still no luck Also, when working on each photo a new slide show folder is created. I am unable to drop it into the original folder I am working with...so I am not able to use it. What am I not doing? Thank you

4 X 6 Photo Printing on C4580 - Top always being cut off by 1-2 inches

As the header reads, I am having trouble printing 4 X 6 photos with my C4580 Photosmart printer. The top is being consistently cut off by 1 to 2 inches. It is not even consistent for the same picture across different prints. This issue never happens when I print 8 X 10. Its only an issue with 4 * 6 prints. I tried it with every possible program CS3, PDF etc... I also tried printing with the memory card directly, same issue.
Please help.

This happens because of poor webpage design, and because of using a font size larger than the webpage is known to be able to work with. Decreasing your font size can sometimes improve the appearance of the page. Sometimes increasing the window size, or increasing the resolution of the display and then increasing the window size helps. The resolution is in Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Displays. However, the real solution is to write the webmasters in concern, and to use alternative web browsers, as my FAQ explains:

Heading 4 and 5 - Words Cut Off

This could end up being a PDF issue, but I thought I would start here with "the source."
I have a Framemaker book with 5 (identical setup/format) chapters. When I create the PDF, life is fine. When I view the PDF, life is fine. When I print the PDF, only the first word in my Heading 4 and Heading 5 paras appears.
Example:

Printed Result
Peripheral
It is consistent -- every level 4 and 5 heading is missing words. Headings 1 through 3 are fine.
Has anyone see this? Is there any possible setting in Framemaker that I have overlooked that would cause this behavior?

LXTerminal, and it also occurs in Leafpad. It does not occur in KWord or LibreOffice Writer. This leads me to believe it's a problem with LXDE/Openbox.

I just went into LXAppearance, and found that antialiasing and hinting (full style) is enabled. It also allows you to choose the sub-pixel geometry (RGB currently), but that's not a topic I have any knowledge on.

HT4356 printing page from facebook using picture and airprint page in upper left quadrant with words and margin cut off

I have a ipad 4 with 6700 hp printer. I was told by support that the way to print a page from facebook was to take a picture of the page and then print the picture. When I do this the picture is printed in the upper left hand quadrant with part of the wording cut off. Is the only or best way to print from facebook and how can I fix the location of the print. Seems Hoaky to me

Well after weeks of anguish, trips to the apple store (not very professional ), calls to Apple support (no help), calls to HP support, they transfered me to airprint support who actually told me how to fix my problem. For an HP printer download from the app store HPAIO remote print. You have to search on AIO remote print. Installed this app and now I can make the print work like I would like. Good luck

When starting maximized, tabs are cut off on top and show properly only upon restore/maximize

When starting FF4 RC1 maximized, tabs ("tabs on top" mode) are cut off on top. To restore their normal display, you restore and maximize the window again.

After a bit of searching: solved by disabling TooManyTabs 1.3.2 extension.

Sides and top cut off on my 1080i TV

Watching the election coverage and they have all the graphic data on the sides and at the top. On my 1080i 56" TV the sides and top are partly cut off but if I watch my 720p 24" TV the graphics seem well placed. Anyone know what might be the issue?
BTW the 720p is a LCD and the 1080i is a rear projection.

It sounds like your 1080i TV has an unusually large amount of overscan. Overscan is the part of the screen that your TV cuts off.
Plasmas and LCDs typically have relatively low overscan (between 0% and 6% total cut per dimension), while older CRT projection displays can have closer to 10% overscan. You should make sure you are in 1080i mode on your 56" TV.

Problems printing a PDF-TopMargin cuts off

I have a PDF which has been forwarded to me. When I try to
print it the top margin is cut off. In other words, the top line and a half of text is not there and the document prints way at the top of the page. This document is several pages and on each page ther text only takes up the top 3/4 of the page, so there is plent of room to shift the document down on the page and not lose anything. Is there some way this can be done? I have tried to find somethign in several of the menu's but haven't found anything. If there is no way to shift the whole document down when printing, then can anyone shed any light on why this forwarded document has this problem? Thanks.

You can crop pages in Acrobat to fix things, not Reader. You can try to Print with Page Scaling to Shrink to Printable Area.
