The post suggests that the first thing to do is update to the latest version of software.
Alas the last update for E72 was 27 October 2010 which is flawed! I know as my phone has misbehaved since installing it and I see other users reporting similar if not the same issues here.
*#0000# reports version 052.005.217.11
Question - How does one down grade to previous version?
The post then suggests "If you still experience problems, you can try if formatting your Eseries device helps. Format the device by dialling *#7370#. The device will request a security code, the default code is 12345 unless you have changed it."
Well actually on the E72 this does nothing! I Type in *#7370# and its displayed to me and nothing else happens. If I enter *#0000# I get the version number so it seems the software/firmware does not understand the code above!
I did try 'factory settings' option from one of the control panel menu's instead at some point of my misery but was surprised by just how little effect that had - many things were not reset.
If your still reading, I thought I would share some steps I have found to sometimes help on E72 when it appears to hang / stall:
1. Try holding down the home button and if the running applications bar is shown try closing the applications by pressing the delete (backspace) key.
2.- If that fails try pressing the off button and selecting 'offline' mode - This sometimes works - if it does then try previous point before going back to an online mode such as 'general'.
3. If that fails - try holding down the power button to turn device off - that sometimes works! But sometimes the keyboard lights simply stay on until the battery goes dead...
4. Remove the battery wait a moment and then re-insert battery. You may then have to enter the time and date. Do check your alarms - during GMT I noticed all my alarms would have incremented by an hour! Not seen this since BST started.
Very strange - or perhaps not that strange but just another issue.... I tried the Hard Reset code again at this time it worked!!! I'm now re-entering my details and remembering what I didn't back up But if it fixes my issues it will be worth it.

FOR SOFT-RESET:
- at Standby Screen type-in => *#7780#
It will ask for “Restore all phone settings-phone’ll restart….”
Then it asks for security code enter factory default => 12345
FOR HARD-RESET:
- at Standby Screen type-in => *#7370#
It will ask for “Restore all phone settings-phone’ll restart….”
Then it asks for security code enter factory default => 12345
FOR FLASHING- TOTAL RESTORE: (Do this if your phone does not boot up)
1) Remove the battery, and then wait for about 20 min or so before putting it back
2) Press and hold these three keys together -Green dial key, Star key[*], Three key [3]
3) switch ON the phone.
4) Do not let go the three keys until you see the WELCOME screen displayed and just let it complete the boot process

I still work for Nokia as an external consultant, so my rank in all posts is now "Employee".Very strange - or perhaps not that strange but just another issue.... I tried the Hard Reset code again at this time it worked!!! I'm now re-entering my details and remembering what I didn't back up But if it fixes my issues it will be worth it.

What to do if I get the error message "Memory full. Delete or move some data from C: Phone memory"
The device memory is low in this case and you should try to free some memory on your C: drive. Use File Mgr. application to view the contents of the C: phone memory. To get more free space on C: drive, check the following:
Clear the web browser cache to release memory used by the cache.
Move your own files stored on C: drive to memory card or mass memory (if your device has an internal mass memory).
Check that the captured photos are stored on memory card or mass memory, not on C: drive.
Remove applications which are installed in C: phone memory if they are not used, or install them to mass memory if supported by the application
The calendar entries, contacts and notes reside in the phone memory. Remove the objects which are not needed.
If using Nokia N97 device, select Menu > Applications > SW Update and install Memory reorganiser if it is listed in the available updates. Run the program by selecting Menu > Applications > Reorganiser, this will move some of the applications from C: phone memory to E: mass memory.

Device not recognized (NEW KIND OF PB) (Video Blaster Webcam 5)

I have a Dell Optiplex GX0, Pentium-3 730MHz, 384 SDRam, 2 USB ports, Win XP pro SP2. All are fully operational. Newest Creative Webcam driver (2002 for xp, something like that)
My webcam 5 was ok until this morning
the day before yesterday: ok
yesterday : ok ----------- and then I installed Active Webcam 7.6 (webcam CCTV software)?I configure, etc. It works.
this morning: ok ---I change some configs :gain / frequence Hz / via the Creative config sofware, it's ok?----------then I use Active Webcam 7.6 : I change the frame rate configuration of this programm (5 +"apply", then 20 +"apply", then 5 +"apply" , 0 +"apply" ) It's okay agin?
In the end I decide to set?5 frames/second, AND THEN......BUG!!!!!!!!!!!Active Webcam 7.6?totally freezes so I kill the process via ctrl+alt+suppr
Even the Creative config sofware freezes when I want starting it. well, I kill it too.
I reboot, AND THEN.......crap.... I see the usb icon on the tray of the task bar?saying "DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED" ......and the device manager of the system panel does not show my webcam 5 any longer.
........well nothing very annoying, I thought, it is worth rebooting, re-install creative software/driver with new/old versions, seeing some topics on forums etc...
NOTHING, I re-intall, plug-unplug before or after (re)installation, verify USB status via the device manager (it says ok, except for the "not recognized device" http://forums.creative.com/i/smilies...miley-wink.gif and via the BIOS (already switch on).

I mean everything is ok, but when I attempt to reach the "source" option of Creative Webcam Control, this programm freezes and the webcam LED becomes switched on for an unlimited period. The only way escape it is to plug/unplug again several time. I HAVE AN ANSWERABLE QUESTION NOW?: :smileyvery-happy:--How can I reset my "source" and other options of Creative Webcam Control in order to get the original automatic producer settings ? --Moreover, I fear the register still definitely keep a trace of my old/bugging settings (that's why I get problems even though I re-install). How can I erase Creative Webcam 5 settings and Creative Webcam Control settings in the register, before properly re-installing my new drivers+programs ? Ps : should I keep the old driver, or take the xp whql driver ? (the new driver might be a source of problem ?)

Does HERE Maps work offline?
Yes, on Windows Phone 8 devices HERE Maps can be used also in offline mode.
With Nokia Maps on the Windows Phone 7 devices you need an online connection. In these devices the map data is streamed on as needed basis and it is not cached.
Can I start Drive navigation from HERE Maps in my Nokia Lumia phone?
Yes, on Windows Phone 8 devices you can start drive navigation from HERE Maps.
On Windows Phone 7 devices you need to go to the Nokia Drive application to start the navigation.
Why can't HERE Maps find my location?
Check that you've allowed HERE Maps and your phone to find your location.

Why can't HERE Transit find my route?

How do I know if there is an update available for the map data in Nokia Maps 3.x?
You can check if your device has the latest compatible Map data simply by connecting your device to a PC running Nokia Suite and selecting View > Go To > Maps.
If you are using Mac, download Map Loader for Mac and then check if there's an available update for Map data (applies only for Maps 3.04 and older, version 3.06 and later not supporting Map Loader for Mac).
With Maps 3.06 and later you can check the availability of map data updates and do the update over Wi-Fi (WLAN) connection by selecting:

There is an icon for the Drive application available on your phone's home screen.

I travel to loads of places by motorcycle, and going off the beaten track is wonderful. Since I upgraded My E6-00 and C7-00 to a Lumia 920, I'm back to allowing the SatNav (phone) to decide where I go. Boring dual carriageways and bypasses are now my natural habitat - bah humbug. Afterall, the phone is in my pocket (safe from weather), headphones in my helmet - I can't constantly look at a map. Having multiple 'favourites' and planning from one to the next isn't workable. Fair enough the Lumia 920 is usable with gloves on (major plus for a biker, come on you marketing people!) but I don't fancy re-routing all the time by the side of a road.
I'm also planning a charity cycle ride over 100s of miles this Summer, and while that can be done in BikeRouteToaster, Google Maps etc, there is no import function into 'HERE' that I can see. It's impossible to plan a route on the device itself. Yes it can route walker (I can't seem to get turn by turn working for that, but nevermind), public transport and car, I have an option to avoid motorways etc, but cycle route planning needs consideration for height metres, unpaved/paved roads (Google StreetView etc used a lot to find a Sustrans route is actually unfit for road bikes) etc. So.. Importing a route planned elsewhere (gpx, kml or something) would be a real alternative, or a workaround. Asking the device to do its own planning from one point to another really isn't workable.
Please make the Nokia's USP an actual USP again? -
Save For Web & Devices Not Responding
Hi there, I am quite new to Photoshop so please be gentle
I have created a multi layer image that is at 8bits per channel and when I go to Save For Web & Devices it brings up the display showing me the optimized version ... I then click on SAVE and it brings up the save dialog but everything is grayed out and I can not click on anything. I can click on CANCEL on the previous window and this hides the Save Dialog (but doesn't actually close it)
Please help on this as it has totally confused meI have been able to SFW a few times but only on new images. The one I am trying to save was copied over from a PC (in fact any file that was previously on a Windows PC)
I have trashed the prefs and it is still the same. I have even re-installed again to no effect. Thanks for the continued help on this -
Save for web & devices not working (CS4)
I noticed today that I can't save for web & devices any more. when I try it shuts down the program and gives me the following message to send a crash report:
Adobe has detected that the application Adobe Illustrator CS4 has unexpectedly quit.
this started as a Photoshop CS4 problem where I also can't save for web & devices any more. before people jump down my throat again for mentioning this Photoshop problem on the Illustrator forum - this is for context only. I have the same problem in both applications. I just include this information here in case it helps. the Photoshop message I get is:
The operation can not be completed.
savign for web & devices worked totally fine up till last night in Photoshop. haven't saved anything out of Illustrator for web & devices in a while but it used to work just fine.
I have a PC and use Windows 7. All my Adobe products are up-to-date.
Any help is much appreciated. Thx a lot!thank you very much. at least it happened before. I was seriously doubting myself. tried trashing preference files multiple times, but that didn't help. will reinstall everything and see if that does the trick.

CS5.1 Save for Web & Devices not responding
I was turning a mov. file into a gif. When I was finished I went to save for web & devices and after it finished loading... the gif couldn't be seen but a coral pink box took the space. Then I get a message stateing that Adobe CS5.1 is not responding... Then it closes down the program. I'm able to make other gifs. Even ones with more frames.They all turn out to be fine. It's just this certain one I try to make that always ends up closeing down the program. The file size is 248MB and the gif I'm trying to make only needs 91 frames. I'm so confused. I even used the same mov. file and made a different gif from it and it worked perfectly! I've tried reinstalling but that didn't fix anything.
So hopefully someone out here will have some helpful information on how to fix this. Thanks!What dimensions does the image have?

1080p for Apple Devices not working in Compressor
Was happy to see the new settings for the ATV3 in Compressor, but it doesn't work. I keep getting a qucktime error -108 about a third of the way into processing. Plenty of memory is showing in Activity Monitor.
I've tried both a short and long movie, with quickcluster turned on and off, both fail.
I've tried all the suggested fixes I can find. Reinstalling Compressor, Stop/Starting/Resetting sharing, deleting preferences.
The same movies work fine with the previous Apple TV/Device settings.
Share from FCPx to ATV3 works, but it extremely slow for the longer movies, and I want to use Compressor and the quickcluster.
Is anyone else having this problem.Some people (including me) have reported flakey changes in sharing after updating. (My issues, however, were broader than just Apple Device presets.)
If I understand your description correctly, sharing is working – just not for one preset – so it's questionable whether it's even Qmaster-related.
You've already tried the fixes I would have suggested – except you might also try Digital Rebellion's Compressor Repair.
Finally, take a look at this thread and see whether David's method works for you.

How to load specific driver for specific device not having PnP-ID?
Hello,
as mentoined in a previous post I'm up to adapt an exisiting PCMCIA-based PC Card driver so that it can be used with a PCMCIA/USB adaptor (by using it's driver's IOCTLs), and already had
some success on it: My driver loads and I can read files (for example, in Windows Explorer) from the card as it did before in "PCMCIA version" (I intend to support both with the same driver, which seems
to work at the moment). As it did before, the driver currently creates a MTD (memory technology device). My main "problem" is how to load the driver.
The situation is a bit complicated, I try to give as much details as possible.
For better understanding
The PCMCIA/USB adaptor's driver usually has following device stack: PCMCIA/SUB adaptors driver -> USB mass storage device (USBSTOR.SYS) -> Diskdrive (DISK.SYS [->PARTMGR.SYS]). For more ease - to see if my driver works in general - I installed my driver
via INF using the PnP ID of the "USB mass storage device", with other words I "replaced" the USB mass storage driver with my own driver.
This is my problem
This means - and that is currently my problem - that may driver gets loaded regardless of what is attached to the PCMCIA/USB adaptor. Usually, when attached to PCMCIA, the PC card has a PnP ID the driver can be assigned to. In my case, I have no PnP ID for
the PC card, and the driver may stop because the attached device is not supported The driver will unload properly, but the device remains with error code (in device manager).
What I want to avoid
I already thought about filter drivers between USBSTOR and the PCMCIA/USB adaptor's driver (#1), or above the USB mass storage device (#2). If I'm correct, that means that I have to handle URB/CBW requests for case #1 or at least SCSI requests for case #2 -
but I'm currently not familiar with filter drivers, URB/CBW and/or SCSI. Porting the driver was quiete frustating until yet and I had to get familiar with a couple of technologies that belongs to the driver's functinaliy itselfs -
I hope you understand that I want to avoid getting familiar with more technologies than required.
I think there must be a way to check the device (PC card) at the PCMCIA/USB adaptor
before my driver will be loaded, as well as removing the deivce completely if the PC card was removed (so that it disappears in device manager). But I'm currently have no idea how to do that. Is it possible to
load my driver along the device/driver stack usually created by the PCMCIA/USB adaptor's driver?

Willi K.Today's memory cards (like CFC) manage their FTL (flash translation layer) in their firmware. Our PC card is quiete old technology and does not have such firmware, this is why Windows cannot recognize the file system (FAT). For example, a request to offset
0 may be somewhere else on our PC Card.
I followed your suggestion and used the HWID of device that appears "above" the USB mass storage device, and my driver seems to work as it did before - OK, made no difference.
But if my driver does not recognize the card (because it is not present or it is another PCMCIA device -> STATUS_NOT_SUPPORTED or STATUS_NO_MEDIA in driver entry), and the device is shown with exclamation mark in device manager.
Two questions remain:
- How can I ensure that other drivers may attach if my driver does not support the device inserted in the adapter?
- How can I force a "re-check" of my driver if there was no card present when driver was loaded?? -> Note: A disk drive always appears in device manager - regardless if a device is attached to the apator or not -
RoboHelp for Word will not show new .WMF graphics
I am working on a help file, and I have to insert equations that I would like to attach pop-ups to. I add the .wmf graphic and add the pop-up, but when I compile the image is not there. This is an older file that was converted over to Robohelp for word and it has .wmf graphics that compile. The only ones that do not show up are the new ones I add to the project. There is just a blank space where the graphic should be. The only way I can get the graphic to show is to convert it into a .shg graphic and then it works. I don't want to keep converting the .wmf file to .shg it is just a waste of time, and it makes my image folder double in size. I have tried inserting the equation as an object in word, but that will not allow me to link it to a pop-up and still have the equation there. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Peter, your advice to install RoboHelp AFTER installing Word
was key in solving this problem.
For a quick summary of the result -- our Help Desk
uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook, Word, and RoboHelp. Then they
reinstalled Word and Outlook; needed to change an "Advanced"
setting in outlook; to get Word to stop giving me the error
messages, they needed to redo my user profile. Then after I was
confident that Word and Outlook were working correctly, this
afternoon I installed RoboHelp X5 via my CD, and then downloaded
and installed these two patches from Adobe.com:
- rho_x501.exe (for the RH Office Word 2003 Support Update)
- rho13_x502.exe (for the Microsoft XP Service Pack 2 Support
Update X5.0.2).
I'm so thankful that RoboHTML and RoboHelp for Word seem to
be working well! Thanks again!

Charged a broken device fee for a device not broken when sent.
I needed to start communication with others in the community about my most recent transaction with Verizon, dating back to the start of January 2014. I have been a customer (with full subscription) of verizon wireless since 2010. My most recent transaction has been extremely unsatisfactory and has completely turned me off to renewing my contract with Verizon when it is complete.
I opened a new line in November of 2013 in order to slowly phase into a phone number with an area code that matched my current living situation. I also wanted to enjoy a new phone, as my S3 had been slowly letting me down. My choice was the LG G2, which is a great phone with the exception of the first two that Verizon sent me had a major flaw, in which the phone would enter a lock loop, when I tried to open the phone up to use it. The issue happened over 50% of the time, and I had to wait several minutes in order to get the phone to work. Verizon, did what I thought at the time, was a very good job handling the issue and shipping me out replacements both times, finally landing on a 3rd LG G2 that did not have the issue.
I received an email a few weeks later that I was being assessed a $299 fee for a broken device. I immediately reached out to Verizon to find out what the heck was going on. I did not send in a device that had any physical issues, and only known issue is that aforementioned problem with the lock loop, which Verizon admitted was a manufacturer defect and replaced it. I spoke with a rep who assured me he was on my side and would help me rectify the problem. I went through almost an hour of communication until he told me that he would have to do more research and get back to me. The only thing I received was an email showing me a phone with a large singular crack down the middle. This is either not my phone or the crack happened off of my watch. I don't think I should be held responsible. Am I wrong here? I have been relatively pleased with Verizon and I don't mind paying a premium because they seem to have good service. I do have to say that this is completely unfair, and out of the principle of the issue I wouldn't renew my contract with Verizon, This is a shame for them, or I would hope, as I have two current lines and just got engaged which would mean my fiance would sign on with me at the end of her contract. I am certainly thinking of going elsewhere now.
I have spent a lot of money with these guys, and this seems like almost blatant robbery. If the cost made sense I would want to pursue the issue in small claims court. I am that insensed. At this point I started a new line to get a new phone and ended up paying more than retail for it, now I am saddled with another two year contract AS WELL AS having paid full price (now with a $299 fee) for the phone. I broke a screen once with my Samsung S3 and it cost me $100 to fix. I would have NEVER sent a broken phone in to get charged $300 for. I have to say I am extremely dissapointed. Safe to say once I stroke that check Verizon will have officially lost a customer.Here is the problem. Verizon sent you a label to return the device via a carrier of their choosing. USPS or FedEx or UPS
when you packaged it there is a certain responsibility that it is packed securely.
Now having said that there can be a doubt; that the device was damaged by the return carrier. But that is an uncertainty, and it would be a decision for a court to decide.
You can file a small claims case against Verizon wireless and ask for the $299 plus the filing fees and the amount you lose from work per hour and then have Verizon prove that the photo was actually your photo.
Please be aware just showing a picture will not sway a judge to believe Verizon. They will get statements from employees at the return center attesting it was damaged in the return box.
However your best defense will be to explain to the judge there is no proof that the damage was your doing. In that it could have been the return carrier. Or the return center.
You may prevail. But it will take a little work on your part.
Verizon will more than likely contact you prior to the court date to settle. If they do settle with you, get the settlement in writing first and for the full amounts. Do not agree to arbitration and if the settlement does not meet your needs simply refuse and go to small claims court.

I still work for Nokia as an external consultant, so my rank in all posts is now "Employee".Very strange - or perhaps not that strange but just another issue.... I tried the Hard Reset code again at this time it worked!!! I'm now re-entering my details and remembering what I didn't back up But if it fixes my issues it will be worth it.

4) Do not let go the three keys until you see the WELCOME screen displayed and just let it complete the boot process

Save for Web & Devices Not working
I am in the middle of creating a new web page using CS5 - sliced the components of the page and saved via Web and Devices as an html page.
Now when I want to go and save an ordinary jpg to post on my blog,via Web and Devices it only gives me the option of saving as an html file and there are no options to save as jpg or any other format.
Any clues as to how to reset the Save for Web and Devices setting so I can save in any other format other than html?1.
