Toplink support for stored procedure with 2 OUT REF CURSOR ?

Can Toplink StoredProcedureCall be used with Oracle PLSql procedure with 2 OUT parameters. Parameter type is Ref Cursor (Oracle PLSQL resulset)

In a TopLink StoredProcedureCall using an OUT CURSOR the cursor is assumed to map to the result set for the TopLink query.
For example if you had a stored procedure READ_ALL_EMP that returned a out cursor of EMP rows, you could use that procedure in a TopLink mapped Employee class mapped to the EMP table and use the stored procedure in a ReadAllQuery for the Employee class.
If the procedure does not return data that maps to objects, you can use a DataReadQuery to access the data. The out cursor would be returned as a Vector of DatabaseRows that contain the data from the cursor rows.
If the procedures data is complex and does not map to objects, it may be better to access the procedure directly through JDBC.

There is only one "data-sources.xml" file in my JDeveloper 10.1.3. It is in the "\j2ee\home\config" subdirectory.
But the again, I have not used my JDeveloper to create any Web services.
I really think you should try the JDeveloper and ADF forum.
Also, there are several debug properties you can set for OC4J.

How to call a Stored Procedure with a REF CURSOR output parameter

I am looking forward an example that call a stored function/procedure with a REF CURSOR output parameter and get the result.
In other words, I have a stored function/procedure that execute a SELECT statement using the OCI library and then it could get the values of each column and each row.
I put a code snippet, it have only the main thing to call a simple stored procedure and print the name of each column of the cursor, but I couldn´t to print out the values in the table that call the stored procedure.
I understand that the next step, it is to call a OCIStmtFetch.
How to associate the cursor with the OCIStmtFetch?
If you need more information, only tell me.
I am using ANSI C with HP-UX Operative System (C for HP-UX) and Oracle 10g.

I change the code with OCIDefineByPos, one for each parameter from cursor and then use the OCIStmtFetch.
I don´t receive a error when call OCIDefineByPos, but when I call OCIStmtFetch receive a -1 error number.
What is wrong with the code?

Execute immediate for stored procedure with out parameter

I have problem with dynamically executing the statement hope anyone can help me.
I have a table which stores the procedure names. and procedure parameter values are stored on another column with parameter values coming from java side.
I have to create a procedure that dynamically executes the procedure on table1 with the values from table 2.
Now I'm getting real trouble to execute immediate this proc with parameters. I tried the DBMS_SQL package as well.
Problem is you need to mention the OUT mode specifically for the out parameter. Can anybody plz help me with this issue??

Thank YouSounds like an appalling design and a nightmare waiting to happen.
Why not have your Java just call the correct procedures directly?
Such design smells badly of an entity attribute value modelling style of coding. Notoriously slow, notoriously buggy, notoriously hard to maintain, notoriously hard to read. It really shouldn't be done like that.

Call stored procedure with OUT parameter

Hello,
I have created a short-lived process. Within this process I am using the "FOUNDATION > JDBC > Call Stored Procedure" operation to call an Oracle procedure. This procedure has 3 parameters, 2 IN and 1 OUT parameter.
The procedure is being executed correctly. Both IN parameters receive the correct values but I am unable to get the OUT parameter's value in my process.
Rewriting the procedure as a function gives me an ORA-01460 since one of the parameters contains XML (>32K) so this is not option...
Has someone been able to call a stored procedure with an OUT parameter?

I agree with you, but issue is we have lots of existing store procedure, which we need to call where damn required. I am sure those will be few but still i need to find out.
If you think you are going to get existing MS Stored Procedures or Oracle Packages that had nothing to do with the ORM previously to work that are not geared to do simple CRUD operations with the ORM and the database tables, you have a rude awakening
coming that's for sure. You had better look into using ADO.NET and Oracle Command objects and call those Oracle Packages by those means and use a datareader.
You could use the EF backdoor, call Oracle Command object and use the Packages, if that's even possible, just like you can use MS SQL Server Stored Procedures or in-line T-SQL via the EF backdoor.
That's about your best shot.

Error while calling a stored procedure with OUT parameter.

Hi,
I am trying to call a Stored Procedure(SP) with an OUT parameter(Ref Cursor) from a third party tool. It is called using OLE-DB Data provider. In one database the procedure works fine but when I change the database the procedure call is giving following error.
Distribution Object:     COM Error. COM Source: OraOLEDB. COM Error message: IDispatch error #3092. COM Description: ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:
     PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'TEST1'
     ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:
     PL/SQL: Statement ignored.
I am not able to find as to why is this happening. Please let me know any clues /help to solve this problem.

If you're using Oracle Provider for OLE DB (OraOLEDB) to execute this stored procedure, you need to set PLSQLRSet attribute. This attribute can be set in registry, connection string, or command object. Please refer to User Documentation for more information.

TopLink support for Stored Functions

I know that TopLink supports PL/SQL stored procedures. What I haven't been able to figure out is whether or not TopLink also supports functions as well. Is there any way to execute a PL/SQL function using the TopLink APIs? Thanks. -Michael-

Call to Oracle stored procedure that returns ref cursor doesn't work

I'm trying to use an OData service operation with Entity Framework to call an Oracle stored procedure that takes an number as an input parameter and returns a ref cursor. The client is javascript so I'm using the rest console to test my endpoints. I have been able to successful call a regular Oracle stored procedure that takes a number parameter but doesn't return anything so I think I have the different component interactions correct. When I try calling the proc that has an ref cursor for the output I get the following an error "Invalid number or type of parameters". Here are my specifics:

I defined a function import for the stored procedure using the directions I found online by creating a new complex type. I don't know if I should be defining the input parameter, WindfarmId, in my app.config? If I should what would that format look like? I also don't know if I'm invoking the stored procedure correctly in my service operation? I'm testing everything through the rest console because the client consuming this information is written in javascript and expecting a json format. Any help is appreciated!

I keep thinking it has to do with my oracle.dataaccess.client settings in App.Config because I don't actually put the WindfarmId and an input parameter. I tried a few different ways to do this but can't find the correct format.

Your reference is invalid:
WHERE TravelType = ST_GetTravelTypeID.TravelType;
This should not (cannot) refer to the name of the procedure - but simply to the variable in it. I.e.
WHERE TravelType = TravelType;
However, as you can see, the variable name is now the same as the column name.
One method around this is to use explicit scope reference. E.g.

WHERE t.TravelType = TravelType;I suggest that you consider this a standard for your PL/SQL programming. Always alias SQL tables in PL/SQL code and use explicit column references.
Another standard we use is to use underscore characters for columns - camel case is fine for variables in a programming language. This is not really acceptable for column names, as by default Oracle uses uppercase. Thus "TravelType" is valid as variable name, but invalid as a column name - it should be defined/written as "travel_type" or "TRAVEL_TYPE" instead.
