TopLink training class -

Does Oracle TopLink provide any training class or technical seminar in the North America, free or not free? If yes, where can I get the class/seminar schedule and location?
Thanks for the reply!

I believe there is a course offered by Oracle University but it is only run on a private basis.
We also have had a high demand for Oracle Consulting services where a more mentoring approach is taken to knowledge transfer that you may be interested in if you are already initiated with the use of TopLink.
In either case if you have issues getting resources please let me know. douglas.clarke at oracle.com.

  • Online Training Classes

    Hello,
I am looking for training with the creative cloud. Are there any online classes that go along with my subscription? I'm not talking about simple training videos - I need full training for my employees. Perhaps an online seminar?
    Thanks!

I ended up taking the RCP Quickstart class online by Modular Mind and it more than met my expectations: Patrick (the instructor) covered the topics very thoroughly and I particularly liked the format of the class.
This online class lacks nothing in comparison to on-site training classes because the size of the class is small, the notes for the class are exceptional and you can ask any question at any time.
I was very happy with Patrick's passion and level of expertise not only in Eclipse plugin development and RCP but also in the maven-based build "tycho" which my team uses. I highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to learn RCP in a very fast and effective way.

  • Any US-based JavaCard training classes?

I'm looking for JavaCard training classes based in the US. I've seen one in Dublin and another in Prague, but for me the travel cost should be less than the tuition! <grin>
Specifically, I'm looking for a technical class on JC 2.2.1, with GlobalPlatform, and JCOP thrown in for good measure. Not looking for a marketing/sales class on how wonderful things would be if we'd only use smartcards, but a hands-on developer class with lab exercises, etc.
    Any leads/comments/URLS appreciated in advance.

I've just wrote a simple accessor implementing the CardAccessor Interface myself. So it seems, that Javacard RMI now works in combination with the Smartcard IO interface.

  • Any good APEX training class in NJ?

    Hi,
I'm a newbie to APEX. I'm at the point that I think I could use some serious APEX training.
what's your thought on APEX training? Did you folks just pick it up by yourself? How? BTW, the thousands of pages of User Manual/Advanced Tutorial do NOT help much, sometimes, they could be even confusing.
Any pointer to any good APEX training classes in NJ is appreciated. For some reason, APEX training in NJ is not on Oracle University's schedule. Or any other alternative? via video?
    Thanks much,
    Helen

I took the first two courses on APEX from DBCON (http://www.dbcon.com/courses.html). It's an online course which I'm not a huge fan of normally, but these two courses were helpful for me. The courses also included the "Pro Oracle Application Express" book which has also been helpful for me:

Disclaimer: I have absolutely no relationship with DBCON whatsoever. Just my two bits.

  • Advanced Muse Training Classes/Trainer

I'm looking for a training class for Muse (Intermediate/Advanced) in the NYC/Long Island area or a skilled private trainer.. preferably a 1 or 2 day training course.. there doesn't seem to be much out there. I have many ideas but am having trouble executing and therefore, my project has come to a standstill. Please respond to my post or message me if you can help. Thanks!

the website you are referring (it's nice) does use other programs i note, which probably means some expertise in html JS and Adobe Edge (i love Edge) as much as Muse. For instance Muse has no scroll widget. I wanted a scroll capability once (and it has been recommended here before), but then i learnt to live without it and now frankly, with all the alternatives that Muse has to offer, i'd rather not use it even if it were available. The beauty of Muse is of course its simplicity and dare i say functionality (there are some things i wish they would remedy particulry when using video) which, I think, have made me a far better website designer.
So, in a sense, there's nothing really complicated about Muse and that's why I recommended lynda.com. I'm cool with basic, since Rembrandt's tools were just that. As for private training classes, I am not much help, but if there are any in your area i'm sure they will have made there whereabouts known through Google. Good luck with your project.

  • Training classes for webdynpro?

    Hi,
does anyone know, if or when SAP education will offer training classes for WebDynpro?
I was looking for it on the Market Place, but could not find anything.
    Thanks,
    Patricia

    Hi Patricia,
Unfortunately, the formalized training for Web Dynpro is still in the beta stages.  I was one of the instructors at the first session of RDWAS2 (which focuses on development within the Web Application Server 6.40 including heavy Web Dynpro content) that had external customers in attendance just last week.  The class was still in "Beta" mode and not open to the general public.  There is a bit of tweaking still to do on the content, but I expect you will see a general scheduling of the course in the near future.  (Formalized training can lag a general customer release by up to 6 months, but I think this one will be out more quickly.)
         Hope this helps,
           --Greg

    Tom,
Just to add in some my thoughts.. You probably get more money from the OKP materials than the standard courses IMHO.  If you don't already have a license for the CRM 40, CRM 50 and CRM 2006s/2007 OKP materials then you should purchase it.  The OKP materials for CRM 40 almost cover the fundamentals of how the system works and the associated functionality.  It is quite easy then to pick each new release after reading the 40 baseline materials.
You will probably learn more by working with a CRM sandbox or building actual scenario than what the classes can teach you.  The classes are good if you need an overview of the material and want to get away from your office and focus on learning.
I have somehow managed to in the last several years to get by with very little classroom training, but tons of self study using the system materials and OKP materials.  I don't claim to know every aspect of CRM, but you can get things done on your own.
Oh btw the material you found online is probably an illegal copy of that material.
    Take care,
    Stephen

  • RE: Berkeley DB Training Class scheduled for March 3, 2008

Berkeley DB Training Class scheduled for March 3, 2008
Is it still on schedule ?

    Hi,
Unfortunately, the training has been cancelled. We're considering offering the training in May/June, but to do that, we need to know how many students will definitely attend (we need a minimum of six students).
If you're definitely going to attend the course, then please send me an e-mail at ashok.joshi at oracle.com and I'll add you to the list of "definite" attendees.
The location of the course is still to be decided; if you have a specific geographic preference, please let me know that as well.
    Thanks and warm regards.

  • Is there a training class or book that will help me with my mac?

Could someone recommend a book or training class for the MacBook Pro? This Grandma needs simple instructions on how to convert from a Dell to a Mac! Thanks!

Welcome to the forums and to Macs in general.  One of the best sources for help is here on the forums.  Look through and find the different ones that may help you and ask away.  Most of the people on here are very knowledgable and helpful.  The Apple: Find out how link is also a great source.  You can also call Apple and ask for help from them on the phone.  That is included with you warranty for 90 days.  If you buy Apple Care it extends your warranty and phone help to 3 years.  I have always bought AppleCare and it has more than paid for itself over the years.

  • Toplink Unmapped class member in Entity

    I am using Oracle Toplink
I would like to add an unmapped property (class member) to my entity, meaning I just want an entity class member that is not tied to the database. Doing so, toplink automatically defaults the mapping and throws an exception stating that no database column exists. I just want a simple class member that does not exist in the database.
Is it possible to tell toplink to ignore this class member so that it will not look for it in the database?
    What are the alternatives?
    Thanks for the help
    Suzanne

You need to mark the field as transient using the JPA @Transient annotation.

  • Training classes for Portal 6.0 vs Portal 6.1

I'm looking at taking Sun's web based classes on the Portal Server. We are using 6.1 but the classes only cover 6.0
Is there much difference between 6.0 and 6.1 that would make the training obsolete? I'm not familiar with 6.0 so I can't tell.

I went to that site and looked at the info... this is too good to be true. How can this be?
Thanks... you saved me hundreds of not thousands of dollars.

  • CR100 training class

    Hi all,
I'm trying to decide if I should take the CR100 class.
I've already read mySAP CRM - The Official Guidebook to SAP CRM Release 4.0 by Rudiger Buck-Emden and Peter Zencke. I'm almost done with SAP CRM Middleware Optimization Guide by Juliane Bode, Stephan Golze, and Thomas Schröder.
I've read most of the primary CRM user guides from SAP. I've already used the best practice building block guides to establish initial connectivity between our R/3 and CRM systems. I've replicated of a lot of customizing objects. I've also successfully downloaded the material master. The customer master still seems to be an issue but I'm working on.
Anyway, I know it's hard for someone else to say but I wonder if I've "self-taught" most of this class. Does any one have an opinion? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Tom

    Hi
Actually the Discoverer Administrator tool has changed so little over the past 5 years or so that you could take a Discoverer 4 EUL class and apply everything that you have learned to 10g. Personally I'd go for the one entitled OracleBI Discoverer Administrator. That's the latest version. You can tell because the letters BI are now part of the product.
I've never used the CD ROM so can't comment - sorry.
    Best wishes
    Michael
