Torch 9800: Software change from Enterprise Model to regular one, without any restrictions

Hi everybody,
is anybody able to give me the adress of a shop or company they're able to set up my BB Enterprise Model to a regular one, so that I can use all functionalities? The installed IT policies will make it use only as a cellphone, internet access and creating email accounts is denied. The required Enterprise Server at my company isn't aviable anymore.

Actually, no...an on-device WIPE does not clear an IT Policy. Rather, the only method is ResetToFactory:

When doing this, one must also be careful regarding backup/restore. One must not do a full backup/restore, but rather only a selective one, specifically avoiding any databases that have anything to to with Enterprise, IT Policy, or anything similar. If those are backed up/restored, then the offending IT Policy will be dutifully returned to the device, returning one right back to the place they started.

That depends, did you create reusable workflows? Those can be deployed to another environment (of course depending on dependencies within the workflow itself)

If you believe there is a hardware problem, call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.

How to copy field comments from logical model to relational one?

Dear gurus!
I had a logical model without field comments. Then I made an engineering of logical model into relational one. Later I added field comments to logical model. How can I copy these values to relational model? Seems to me that when I use
model.getTableSet().toArray()
then I get list of relational model tables. How can I get a list of logical "tables" and to get a relations between those two lists?

You don't need to write and run script for that. Just use engineering to relational model. Use compare/copy options tab if you don't want something else to go into relational model

Found a reconditioned 2005 eMac on line. Can I have the HD swapped from old eMac to reconditioned eMac without problems???...with regards to software applications. Old eMac is running 10.4.11 and reconditioned on runs 10.5. Suggestions, tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Might want to make sure both units are not affected. This is the range of serial number from the now-defunct Apple Repair Extention Program for USB 2.0 eMacs:

A "collapse" is more indicative of a video cabling issue, but the bad caps produced such a wide range of problems that it's hard to sort through them.
If the old eMac is a USB 2.0, which a 2004 unit should be, the HD should exchange with the new one. As the last of the eMacs shipped with Tiger, the new computer should have no probelms with a 10.4 boot volume on the old drive. You can upgrade to Leopard one you have hte new disk in place.
NOTE: Takeapart and reassembly on the USB 2.0 must be done "just so" or you can permanently damage the power switch. Instructions for the USB 1.1 takeapart are slightly different , and the power swtich damage is usually caused by people using the older instructions on a newer eMac.
If you are not up to the takepart nor can you find a local computer tech who knows these. consider taking the drive out of the dead computer(won't make much difference if you damage that one as it's dead), buy an external Firewire enclosure, and put the old drive on it and use it to move data to the new computer. Then you can leave the external attached as a backup drive.
Is the new one a 1.42Ghz model? They have been practically trouble-free around here. We have one and it's been rock solid since we bought it as a refurb in Jan 2006. The 1.42G has the advantage of a Core Image-enabled video chipset, the ATI 9600.
And all USB 2.0 eMacs can, with modern memory modules, support up to 2G of RAM.

I would like to generate a signal using output channels of PCI-4451 and at the same time capture data using the input channels. Is there any method that I can generate a continuous signal without any undefined state when the signal frequency is being changed?

DSA boards such as the PCI-4451 have a number of very desirable properties including high precision and a high sampling rate. The trade-off for the combination of these two properties is that the DSA boards cannot adjust their sampling rate on-the-fly. Instead they have to be stopped and reconfigured. During this reconfiguration time, the value of the board's output becomes flat and level.
If you are looking to adjust the board's output without seeing these flat spots, you have to take a different approach to programming a DSA board. Instead of reconfiguring the board, what you need to do is allow the board to continue to run (at the same output frequency), and then overwrite the output buffer that the board reads to output values. This will
allow you to output new data without the flat spots. Below you will find an example that displays this behavior.
If you determine that this is not an acceptable workaround due to the limitations on output rates, you may want to look at using a Multifunction DAQ board (60xx or 62xx) or an arbitrary waveform generator (54xx) device instead.

Error when updating torch 9800 software

Hi
I keep on getting an error in the middle of my OS update of the BB torch. Ive tried all 3 updates available and they all stop after uploaded several units and say I must check my internet connection. Tried on several different connections, 3G and lan. I have a App 606 error, but the software detects my phone, I do the repair option and then go the normal process of updating OS.

Can you try using a different USB port in the rear of the PC, or even on a different PC?

Torch 9800 No Sound from Handset\Receiver

Hello. The problem I am having is I cannot hear the caller. The caller can hear me. I have to either use an ear piece and microphone or put the phone on speaker. I have had this phone for almost two years. This is a recent problem. I have removed the battery for a full ten minutes and reinstalled. I have performed the update and have the latest versions: Desktop software version 7.1.0.32 release date July 11, 2012 bundle 33. Phone software is 6.0, Bundle 695.
Any ideas on how to fix this will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance. Warm Regards.

Go to Options and type "status" in the search bar. Click on Device and Status Information. On that screen type T E S T. You won't see the letters being typed but it will open up a diagnostics menu. Run a diagnostics on the speaker and make sure it is inoperative. If it works in the diagnostics it's a software problem. If it doesn't work in diagnostics then it's definitely a hardware problem.

Is there no Office licencing? Even if you want to avoid Exchange, MDaemon with the Outlook Connector and ActiveSync is a far more pleasant experience than IMAP and Thunderbird.
Is all email currently stored in the POP mailbox, or is it pulled to PST files?
I would investigate using something like MigrationWiz to copy the data between the two servers, so all you have to worry about it updating the server details in the clients. Being clever with DNS, depending on the current setup, might avoid having to do even that.

Hi all.This won’t be short…..It seems I can’t find a good guide to migrating to a new non-exchange server solution and go from POP to IMAP in the process. I currently have approximately 80 email users in one location on a UTM device now functioning as email server only that must be retired. The mail service is the basic of all basic. After a lengthy trial, I have purchased Alt-N's mDaemon mail server. My end goal is to have everyone using IMAP (and eventually all the bells and whistles). The current production email server is mail.example.COM with WAN ip of xx.xxx.xxx.66My staged mDaemon server is mail.example.XYZ with WAN ip of xx.xxx.xxx.86 It is now on the same Lan with mail routing correctly to .XYZ. It is AD integrated and everything works for XYZ independently of .COM just nicely. I have tested everything through and all is good...

How do you change the printer setting on a macbook air? I go to print something and it prints double sided, is there a way to change that setting?I have an Epson printer that does air printing. Please help!

That would be a function of the printer settings. So once you call up the printer to print something go into the settings and change it from Duplex to single sided printing.

My icons all changed from the program icon to one Microsoft Office icon

I was reviewing emails and was reading one....I have no idea what I did, but all the desktop icons for my various programs were all changed to one icon....which is an icon for Microsoft Office 2010. I have tried to figure out what I need to do to reset them to what they were originally. Does anyone know how to do this? Can the explaination be in user friendly terminology, please.

1. Open Windows Explorer (any folder/drive).
2. As the IconCache is a hidden file, you need to enable “Show hidden files” option to see the same. To do this, head over to Tools > Folder Options, switch to View tab, and finally enable Show Hidden files, folders, and drives option.
3. Now navigate to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local folder and then delete IconCache.db file. Here username is your user profile name.
4. Reboot your computer to rebuild the icon cache.
5. All icons should be displayed correct now.
Alternately, you can download a tool from the following weblink that will do this for you:

The tool has three options, one to rebuild the icon cache, another one to restore the original icon cache file and third option to delete the back up file of icon cache. When you rebuild the cache, it takes a back up of existing IconCache.db.

Upgrading HDD on new MBP 15" and transfering all Data and settings from 2011 model to 2012 one

Hi all,
I have just purchased a new 2012 MBP 15" (Non-retina) machine as well as a hybrid 750GB drive from Seagate and 16GB RAM upgrade from Crucial. Both machines are running the latest versions of Lion. What I would like to do is the following:
Upgrade the HDD & RAM in the new 2012 MBP - I think it is the same procedure as the 2011 model (which I have already done using Carbon Copy Cloner)
Transfer all the data, settings, programmes files, docs etc to the new 2012 MBP and new drive
Q1. Would I have to clone the current HDD in the 2012 MBP with the new hybrid one first and then install into the machine before transferring the data from the 2011 machine?
Q2. Or - Could I just clone the current HDD in the 2011 model using CCC to the new Hybrid HDD and then instal it into the new 2012 MBP?
Whats the best and safest way to achieve this please? Any advice very welcome!

So, everything went fairly well. It started out looking like it was going to take 2.5 hours, but it ended up taking about 5-6 (I think - I went to sleep).
A couple of observations - at first I didn't see where it restored everything, but I later saw that when I logged out that it had created my user account as a separate login.
Some things didn't transfer - most everything did, but there were a few things with my Parallels VM that did not. I have to get to the bottom of that. It did make me re-register once I launched it.
On the hardware specifically:
1. I am not yet noticing the performance bump that I thought I would going to the i5 processor - seemed snappy when I first had it on with OS only - but so far not noticeably faster than my Core 2 Duo 2.4.
2. battery - way too early to tell, but I am hoping the battery needs time to condition itself and figure out who it is (battery life was my #1 reason for buying this) - right now I am on battery power and have 79% remaining or 2hrs. 2 hours??!! This is supposed to be a 8-9 hour battery. Hoping time works this out. Brightness if only up about 20%, on wifi, keybaord backlighting fairly dim. Nothing coming over from my old machine would have affected this, would it have? (I do know that when the machine was empty with just the OS on it, it was reading about 8 hrs remaining). So much for living on the edge and going to the office without my power adapter today.
3. Heat - my 13" was not hot on the bottom - this one is - on the back left part of the unit. Reminding me of my Powerbook G4. Not very lap comfortable. ??
Any thoughts?
