Toruble with dropped ARD sessions requiring a logout to fix

I am having a major problem with ARD on my work Mac. It is a Rev A Intel iMac 17" running the latest ARD client.
I was given the ARD admin to take home for telecommuting which I have installed on my PowerMac G5. I connect to my work Mac through a Cisco VPN (this VPN software is very buggy)
Far too frequently while I am connected to the Intel iMac (curtained) I suddenly lose connection to the Mac. Whatever was on my screen at the time freezes in my ARD window. Closing the session reveals that the iMac still has a Locked Screen. I can unlock the screen but can never connect to it unless I log out. I've tried using the shell command kickstart to restart the ARD client and a variety of other things trying to bring it back but that actually causes much more damage and usually results in the need for a hard reboot (power cycle).
The problem only seems to (or most frequently) occur when Mail is open. If I leave it closed I don't see this problem (maybe very rarely if ever). Of course without access to email what good is ARD in my situation? Other than that there doesn't seem to be any pattern.
Anyone have any ideas? Need help badly!

To clarify I must logout of the remote machine to enable a new ARD connection.
I can use Manage -> Logout Current User in the admin. So most of the remote option are still functional just not a full Control.

New update of Firefox, now my home page keeps changing with each new session. What's the fix?

After Firefox performed an automatic upgrade, my home page and "Restore to Default" setting changed. I can input the correct URL and save and that works fine during that session. But when the browser is closed and brought back up again, it reverts to this different home page (my companies intranet page). I've tried changing the "home page default" setting in the browserconfig.properties file and did a find and replace of the wrong URL in the "pref.js" files. But it keeps going back to the wrong address each time a new browser session is started. This all happened after an automatic upgrade was done to bring Firefox to version 3.6.8.
This has happened on both of my work computers that run Windows XP - SP 3, IE 7.0.573 and Symantec Antivirus. So I'd think the chances of both computers being hit by the exact some problem, at the exact same time, changing the home page to the exact same URL and neither of the computers' antivirus protection catching it are rather slim. But I suppose that's a possibility. However, since this happened immediately following the browser upgrade, I have to think that this new installation has something to do with it.
Any suggestions?

Did you look for a '''user.js''' file in your Profile folder?

Prefs in that file will override the same pref in the prefs.js file on each Firefox startup.
Have you contacted your IT department about that issue?
Maybe they are overriding your homepage setting?

Toplink Version with Bug# 3617882 (SESSION NULL IN EXCEPTIONHANDLER)'s fix?

We're using Toplink v9.0.4.2 and are experiencing the same issue detailed in Bug# 3617882 on Metalink. According to this bug's status, it has been fixed in v9.0.4.4 (around July 2004 timeframe). I downloaded Toplink v9.0.4.5 installer from Oracle web site (http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/904topsoft.html). But jars installed with that one are exactly the same as the ones we currently have in 9.0.4.2.
Where can I find the right Toplink Version that has this bug's fix? Please reply.

I would try getting the latest 9.0.4 TopLink patchset, which is 9.0.4.8 available from Metalink under patch# 4499114 .
When you ran the TopLink 10g installer, did you run with the jars it installed? If so, what was the version number it printed off in the logs? I have checked that the toplink.jar file installed is TopLink version 9.0.4.5, so I'm not sure what you mean when you say the jars are the same.

How do I fix this error, Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'Modal session requires modal window'?

     I have been trying to start up my Batman: Arkham City game recently and it says that it cannot open and gives me this error;
               "Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistancyException', reason: 'Model session requires model window'"
     I have played the game for about 13 hours before this error started to pop up and I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to fix it. Any information would be greatly appreaciated.

Yesterday I had the same problem.
I installed the game and played for five hours with no problem but in the last execution my iMac show me that error. I tried to uninstall and install the game again but always show me the error. I did the same with the Steam client with no solution.
Finally I fixed the error deleting a folder.
Go to Macintosh HD/Users/[username]/Library/Caches/com.feralinteractive.bmac
and delete the folder named "com.plausiblelabs.crashreporter.data"
Try to launch the game again.

In the PO Ship To address field, the database/company address will appear until a warehouse is selected. Once a WH is selected, that is the address that will appear. If there is no WH address, the company address is indicated in the field (note: no company name just the address).
If you want a different address/name, you can type it into the ShipTo address field and the PLD template will use whatever is in the field.
If it is because there is no company name on the PO - does this mean you want a different company name than the one in the PO header. If this is the case and the ShipTo address & company name is always the same, you can update the PLD template by changing the ST address field to Text and enter the company name & address you want on the PO. This will appear on every PO regardless of what is in SAP. If you want the company name to always be the same, add a text field above the ST address field and fill in the company name; the address will be pulled from the PO Logistics ST field (per the first paragraph above).
If this is not what you want, please explain in more detail what you would like to do.

Firewall Dropping Packets - %FW-6-DROP_PKT: Dropping tcp session X.X.X.X X.

Can anyone explain this error and what is a stray Segment with the IP ident 46866. I can't seem to find this error on the Cisco web site the only bug appears to be to do with Zone firewalls. I have an 877 Router on a remote site configured with IPSEC and a Tunnel back to the main office and I'm getting reported connection issues to network drives on servers located local to the LAN and on the headend LAN. Can't seem to find any other errors apart from this one.

This causes traffic over an IPsec VPN tunnel through this router to fail intermittently, although the tunnel is up and phase 1 (isakmp) and phase 2 (ipsec) SAs have been established. If the router is configured to log dropped packets, it will log a %FW-6-DROP_PKT syslog message for these packets.
Conditions: This symptom is observed on a Cisco IOS router that is enabled with ZPF (Zone-based Policy Firewall) and that is configured to pass the ESP traffic based on a "match access-group" policy, where the access list has entries to permit the ESP traffic specifically from one host to another.
For example:
class-map type inspect match-any cm-esp match access-group 100
policy-map type inspect in2out class type inspect cm-esp pass

Then the show access-list command will indicate that the dropped packets are hitting the deny rule, although they should match one of the permit rules:

Problem with dropped connections...

Hi,
I'm having a problem with dropped connections. Let me explain...
I have a computer with Windows XP SP3 where I have installed Toad, PuTTY and Oracle 10g client. I need to connect to several database and Linux hosts and have a strange problem. What happens is the following:
1 - When I arrive at a customer location, I boot up my computer (I'm not using hibernate or standby) and plug-in to the network.
2 - After I login to Windows, every session in PuTTY (to Linux), SQL*Plus or Toad (to database) gets dropped after only a few seconds.
3 - I reboot my computer again, and everything works fine.
I have no explanation for this beahavior. This happens across different customers, database versions and Linux OS kernels and versions. It seems to be related to something in my computer that is fixed on the 2nd restart.
Has anybody experienced any similar problem?

If you install an Oracle client on your machine and configure TNS, will the sqlplus drop as well? Or download and install SQL Developer, see if SQL Developer having any problem connect.

1.With Media bypass enabled in Lync, for an incoming call to Lync client that has simultaneous ring to a number with early media enabled, caller will hear ring back instead of the early media.
2.Avaya Aura communication manager does not send disconnect to PSTN via ISDN trunk while receiving SIP 603 response from Mediation server for incoming call to Lync client. Caller will hear overflow tone and call will not disconnect until caller drops the
call.
What’s more, it is better to contact IP-PBX vendor for the installation and set up as they have the complete documentation.

Bi publisher with new public session not working. Bug?

I've got a problem with a bi publisher report I want to open from a url. I have a page 1 which is public, and I want to give the user following url to download the document:
   MYURL/pls/apex/f?p=MYAPP:1::PRINT_REPORT=MYREPORT:::MYVAR:1
This gives me an empty page.
When I first generate a new session by just going to page 1:
   MYURL/pls/apex/f?p=MYAPP:1 (which generates MYURL/pls/apex/f?p=MYAPP:1:1855219487679317)
And then use the original url with the new session, it downloads the document:
   MYURL/pls/apex/f?p=MYAPP:1:1855219487679317:PRINT_REPORT=MYREPORT:::MYVAR:1
Is this a know problem and is there a workaround?

This appears to be a bug. As a workaround, you can provide users with a link to a different public page and have that page do a before-header branch to your page 1, specifying the PRINT_REPORT=MYREPORT request value and the session item names/values in the branch definition. For example the link your users could use (to public page 2) might be:

OER 11.1.1.7 - Asset Navigator doesn't open with an Error - Missing Required permissions attribute in main jar

Hi,
I have installed OER-11g version 11.1.1.7 and am successfuly able to open Asset Editor , ImpExp utility and also could harvest SOA and OSB components.
Issue 1:
However while trying to open the Navigator of the harvested components in OER console, a new window opens with two sections ( top and bottom). The top one which is a diagram view doesn't open with an error - Missing required permissions attribute in main jar: http://localhost:7101/oer-web/applets/components.aler-thinkmapclient-11.1.1.7.0.jar.
Please find the screenshot below.
Issue #2 : While trying to browse for the Assets from OER console. The below error is seen ( missing permissions for components.jexplorer-11.1.1.7.0.jar)
Could someone direct me on how to solve this issue. Appreciate your help !

It works for me after I did a small tweak by as mine is a demo install.
Idea - is to make an security exception for the OER url in Java control console
Steps to do that :
1.Go to the control panel and uninstall the 64 bit version of Java
Open Programs and Features and select the 64 bit version of Java and select Uninstall.
2.Open up the Java Control Panel
Found as an option in the standard windows control panel
3.Check the version by clicking on the About Tab
If this is not what you expected you can go to java.com and download the latest version.
4.Click on the Security Tab in the Java Control Panel
5.Click on the Edit Site List button in the lower RH corner of the control panel
6.Add your URL to be allowed
Enter the full path that you use to access this such as https://myequallogics.com or the IP address if that is how you access it (as in http://192.168.0.100 - Https is recommended by Oracle.) Once complete hit OK. You should now see the exception on the security page.
7.Close out of the control panel.
8.You can now acess your site through the browser window.

Adobe decided to discontinue development of Spry in August last year, and Dreamweaver CC made the switch to using jQuery UI widgets and effects. One reason for dropping Spry was that it failed to work correctly in some browsers. Importing a .psd file - getting weird effects with drop shadows!! HELP!

Hi all,
I'm trying to import a psd file as my site and then animate each page.
I have each page set up as a different layer and am importing each page as a movie clip so i can animate each one separately.
The problem is that i have some images on each page that have drop shadows ( i have flattened these in photoshop so there is no longer the blending options layers attached). When flash imports all the layers it obviously has all of them visible at the same time initially.
When i then go through and separate each page to show at different points in the timeline, the images with drop shadows are now showing the image that was underneath it on import, instead of the drop shadow. Difficult to explain, but if you imagine a page with a square in the middle. That square has a drop shadow along two edges which is a slight shading. On a different page (on the layer underneath) there is just a big image of the sea (could be anything). When i import them, the page with the square is sitting directly on top of the page with the image of the sea. I separate these in the timeline so they show at different points, but when it's just the page with the square showing (the page with the sea isn't showing at this point), instead of the nice shading for the drop shadow, in it's place is the thin part of the image of the sea that was initially under the shading for the drop shadow....
Can anyone suggest what is happening and why, and how to quickly fix it in Flash. It took me AGES to import the whole site and all the pages, but now all the movieclips are completely useless because all the drop shadows are messed up with the images that were importing underneath them???!
I'm in a real rush here too, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

How was the original art created? Was the original RGB or CMYK? What is the resolution of the Photoshop file? Flash only works well with RGB and 72 pixel per inch resolution. If your original art is not set this way, then Flash will attempt to convert it as it imports it. Flash uses the sRGB color space. You'll get the best color translation if your Photoshop file is using this color preference.
