Toshiba 20GB F series - How to change files to mp3?

Hello :)
This is my first post here. I have had +Toshiba 20 Gb F series+ for over 4 years. Recently it has been acting weird, the directional buttons weren't responding and I decided to back up all my files. So I made a copy of everything I had on my Gigabeat on the hard drive. My GB died 2 days a go (rip) and I tried to listen to my music on the hard drive but the windows does not recognize the format.
So my question is how do I change the format of the files back to *Mp3*? I asked this question in others boards and they told me to post it here since you guys are more familiar with this problem. If you happen to know the answer can you please tell me a step by step instruction? Like what program I need to use and etc.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

First of all here in the forum you will meet the same guys like in other forums ;)
Only one difference is that here are more Toshiba notebook owners as in other forums :)
But I dont know why we should be familiar with such issue ?:|
Anyway to be honest I dont understand what the problem is.
I mean you made a backup of your files (what files?) and now you want to convert it to MP3???
Generally if you want to convert some audio files to mp3 then you will have to use an special tool.
In internet you will find a lot of different tools which are able to convert the audio files to different formats
Just google for such free tools.

  • How to change file type associations in SAP ERP 6.0?

    Hello,
I'd like to figure out how to change the application associated with a given file type in SAP. I want to open a .DOC file, but I am using OpenOffice instead of MS Word. I have .DOC file type already associated with OpenOffice in Windows XP, but SAP doesn't seem to recognize that association. I am using SAP ERP 6.0. Any ideas?

    Hi,
MS Word is mandatory. You will not be able to work using Open Office in SAP.

  • How to change file preview in Finder?

So I just finished my latest short film, and I exported it to Finder. However I don't like the preview Finder chose for my video, it simply chose a random frame from my video and made that the preview of the file. I have a custom poster I made for the video I would like to make the preview of the file. I've look at other websites and they all mistook "preview" for icons. I am not talking about the icon of the file, I am talking about the actual preview of the file. If you open the Info pane of an image or a video file, there will be a tab under "Open With" named "Preview" and shows the preview thumbnail for the file. Can anyone tell me how I can manually change the preview of a file? I thought about importing the video into iTunes, change the cover art and take it out again, however because the file is encoded with Apple ProRes 4444 iTunes won't accept it and even if it did it would have been converted to other format, which is something I am trying to avoid and I would like to keep it ProRes 4444.

    Hi!
I'm not sure how to change the preveiw icon, but if you're just looking for a quick way to change the icon preview of that particular file you could always change the the icon from the finder get info window:

Hope this gives you a temporary solution until you find what you're looking for.

  • How to change file format?

i opened a classpath file with IE and selected the "always open with" option. from then it is showing the IE symbol for classpath file. how to change this for original format.? please tell me..

It's also nothing to do with file formats. File extensions may hint at format, but that's about itTrue, but that is what windows uses to determine the program to use to "open" it, which is all he wants (at least as far as I was able to determine from his question). The file itself is a simple text file.
Edit: Also, seemingly under Vista there is no way to change that starting from "folder options", you have to come at it from a different direction (but I don't know from where, only that I no longer find the option under "folder options" anywhere).

  • How to change file type from .zip to .dock

I would like to know how to change the saved file type (.zip) to other file types such as (.txt), (.doc), (.dock) or (.pdf).

It's more complicated than just changing the name of the file to have a different extension.  What you have to do is to convert a file from one format to another.  To do that you have to use an application that knows how to open the original type and how to write the format of the new type.  The application to use for a given combination depends on the combination.  For example, the Preview applications knows how to read a JPG file and write the contents to a PDF file.
A ".zip" file is a somewhat different case.  A ".zip" file is an "archive" that (generally) contains other files compressed within it.  If you double-click on a ZIP file, it should expand into the enclosed files.
If you give specific examples of what you want to convert, people should be able to explain what to do.
By the way, I'm not familiar with a file of type ".dock".  What is that?

You can't just generically go from one format to
    another.
If you have specific set of acceptable image formats
and video formats you can sit down and plan how to do
    it in Java.
There are many formats that you can convert using
Java but not all possible formats.can you give me any hint or code to do how to change media formats from one format to another

  • How do change file format for videos to be compatible with iDVD?

My husband's uncle sent us several short files of video he took with his camera or cell phone, and I really want to burn them onto a DVD using iDVD.  When I drag one of the files into the program, however, it says "your last action is not supported by iDVD."  All the other videos in my iPhoto works, so I'm guessing it's the wrong type of file.  Does anyone know how to change to file type so it's iDVD compatible?  Right now the files are ".MOV."  The one I have that are ".AVI" seem to work just fine.  Any insight is appreciated!!
    Thanks!

You need to convert those files to something iMovie can handle, like DV, before bringing them into iDVD.
    For that you need mpegStreamclip:
    http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-mac.html
which is free, but you must also have the  Apple mpeg2 plugin :

  • How to change file location path at run time in OWB 10g

    Hello all,
We want to load several files with the same name but from different folders into a single table.
The information about the paths is stored in an oracle table.
Is there any best practice to achieve this?
Our approach is to loop on the number of sources and execute the mapping after changing the location path. We found how to make the loop, and have the apropriate OMB command to update the location path, but we are still looking for a way to call this OMB plus command in a process flow or a mapping. Any idea?
We also succeeded in loading the file from an unregistered location, which is necessary to be able to update the path, but I'm not sure this is really the best approach. Any advise?
Thanks in advance for your help!
    best regards
    Cedric.

    Hi,
I can provide you with an idea on this, dont know if it will work or not.
Suppose, you need to load 5 files in different folder locations into a single table. Call the mapping 5 times in a process flow. If you log in to the database, and go the table all_directories in your target schema, you will find an entry for the actual path of the file you are trying to laod. I think if this path is updated before each run of the mapping, you can load all files into the target table. Only thing you have to do is call a procedure which will update this record in all_directories table with the different locations each time you want and then plug in this procedure before each call to the mapping in a process flow and see if it works or not?

  • How to change file information in ADE?

I am having trouble loading eBooks into ADE with missing book information. I would like the books to be searchable after they are input into my Nook, but when I load the books into ADE some of the information fields are blank (author, title, etc.). I don't see an "edit file info" button anywhere and when I change the file info in Explorer, it still imports incorrectly. How can I edit file information in ADE so my books can be easily searcheable in my Nook?

    Thank you for advice.
I know that I can create epub files with fonts included in them.
My question was- how to refer in the epub to external font file, that ADE would understand and display,
doing that would let me keep overall file size of my book library significantly less, because I would not need to include same fonts in every book.
I am able to do it on the devices, I am able to do it in Sony Reader Library, but PC version of Adobe Digital Editions does not work the same way. All I need is to  know where to put external fonts on my PC so that I could refer to them from inside the epub and that ADE would find and display them.
Though I do appreciate the attention, I'd double the appreciation if you read the question before offering the answer.

  • How to change file type when exporting a report with a background job

    Hi,
I've set up a background job in SM36 to execute a SAP Query I've created, set to send the results as a file to an external email address. When it arrives the file is a .htm (and it seems to cut out after a few pages of data), but I'd like it to export as a .xls, .txt or .csv.
I've checked the job, the query and my user settings, but I can't find where the change the file extension used - can anyone please tell me how to do it?

I only know what OSX tells me -- so my information is only as good as its messages.
Locked files seem like a good possibility though.
Your first post seemed to say that some specific files couldn't be deleted. If you know any of their names, see if one is locked.  if not, that isn't the problem.  If it is, unlock it and try to delete.  If it still won't delete, that's not the problem, either (or at least not all of it).
How can I just make all file unlocked since I have no idea which of the tens of thousands of file are at fault?
I know in OSX its easy to change permissions on a folder and then propagate that change to all child foders and files.  Does locking/unlocking work the same?
If you don't know of any specific files, try creating one, locking it, then seeing if you can delete it.
There doesn't seem to be any way to unlock all files in a folder.
Do you want to delete everything on the TC?  If so, just erase it with Airport Utility -- only takes seconds.
EDIT:  These files wouldn't be in Time Machine backups, would they?  If so, you can only delete entire backups via the Finder, not individual files or folders.  But the message OSX usually sends when you try that says so fairly clearly.

  • How to change file type to application mapping

I switched from OpenOffice to iWork. Now when I double click a file with an extension .doc or .xls, still OpenOffice opens by default. I would rather have the defaults set to iWork, but without completely removing OpenOffice (yet). How can I accomplish this?
    Tanks! Sturzi

Select a .doc file in the Finder, choose File -> Get Info (or hit command-i), then look in the Open With section of the info window and change the pop-up to read Pages. Then click the Change All button... from then on, all .doc files will be opened by Pages. Do the same with your Excel files.

  • How to change File Properties Creator

I'm using PSE 7.0 Organizer. When I change the date/time of my files, PSE assigns 'Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0' to the Creator in the File Properties.
How can I change this to a string of my chosing, such as ME. I'm am using right-click file > Adjust Date & Time of Selected Items... to set the date/time on images that I'm scanning from slides. When these images are scanned, there is no Exif data in the scanned file until I do this action. So this is the only way I know to get these to be sorted in the correct Date taken order.
    Thanks,
    John

You can't change the "Creator" tag under "File properties" in PSE7.
Anyhow the "Creator" Tag here represent the Application through which edition has been done on the image, it does not represent the Author.
If you want to add your name as a author to a image, you can do the same by opening the image with Photoshop Elements Editor and follow these steps:
    1. Click on "File" menu and select "File Info".
    2. Now in the "File Info" dialogue box, Select the Tab "IPTC" and enter your name against the Coloumn "Creator" or you can do the same by selecting tab "Description" and entering your name against the Column "Author".
    3. Now Save the file.
Now open the same file in organizer again and look for the metadata properties of the image, Click on Radio button "View: Complete" to view complete metadat of the image. Now You can see your name against the "Author".
Hope It must have resolved your query.
