Toshiba 40RL958B: Toshiba Places not working

*hi*
*1st time Toshiba TV owner!*
*i have purchased the above TV, and i'm trying to connect this TV via wireless router, i go through the process ( via menu and network selection) and it says connected, then i press to the Toshiba places button, it says connection not recognised, or words to that effect.*
*when i go into quick menu, and network info, its showing as connected*
*its also showing as recognised on my router, can anyone offer any ideas*

Please check if you have the latest firmware installed.
Furthermore use the factory reset option and configure the internet connection again.

Recovery Disks sent by Toshiba do not work.

So about two months ago my hard drive started failing, and my Winsdows 7 partition stopped working. So I ordered Toshiba Recovery Discs using my serial and part number given on the bottom of my computer. When I follow the instructions that came with the discs (hold "C" until the Toshiba logo is shown then release) I get a message saying "No Bootable Decive Recognized". So I tried pressing F12 and booting from the CD drive, and same message. Well I got a new hard drive, thinking maybe it was the failure of the old one. But it has the same exact error message. When I researched further I read same reports but those people ordered a new set and it worked fine. So I did that but to no avail, same exact error. I recently booted into a Linux OS system and the discs aren't even recognized, while every other disc I put in is recognized. I'm not sure if they keep sending me faulty discs or the problem is on my end, but I would appreciate any feedback.
I use a Toshiba Satellite L650D
Windows 7 64 Bit Home Edition.
I also have a Windows Repair disc which actually gets me into Startup Repair.

Old external Toshiba HDD not working with Windows 7

I feel as if this problem is going to affect more and more people. Having searched the internet without luck, I felt the need to address the issue here!
I have an external 320GB Toshiba HDD, model: PX1267E-1G32 which Windows 7 (64Bit Professional) does not recognise. It does not show up in my computer and states the device is not working properly. Troubleshooting does not help, and it suggests i have the latest driver for it (version 6.1.7600.16385)
I can not find any support for this device. I have read some people trying to tackle the password protection it comes with (a separate partition with this function) but this is not an issue for me as i never use it. There are drivers on that partition as well which have no affect on windows when i have transferred them via a flash stick.
On my laptop Windows XP is installed and it finds the HDD without any problems. This has lead me to believe there is a fault with compatibility within the newer windows systems. I have tried formatting the drive, reinstalling drivers and searching for a solution. I really can not believe this has not been resolved somewhere and fear with it being an older discontinued product (Mid 2006) there will be little support for it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

boah what a hell....
let's look if there is a cure.....
this device is recognized under every other system than yours, right?
if so maybe your software is misconfigured or your usb connection is bad....
how to determine?
try other devices like an usb-stick
check bios if legacy usb support is on
check device manager (device plugged in) if it shows any information like a //dev_xxxx
if your usb port is ok
goto device manager and remove all usb devices (show hidden devices)
reboot and let the system determine the hub etc
plug in usb-hdd and see if it will be detected - keep in mind: you dont have to load a driver for a usb storage device by yourself
if the usb ports are ok and your hdd is recognized by other systems maybe it's time for a recovery of your system....

Places not working correctly

I can't seem to get Places to work correctly. Here is what I do and what happens:
1) I shoot picts with a point and shoot and a handheld GPS. Dates and times are in synch. Time zone double-checked.
2) Import photos into Aperture.
3) Plug Garmin 60csx into Mac via USB. Choose track from today to import.
4) Nothing happens. Repeat #3 a total of three times. On the third time (I've done this several times and it is always on the third time) the track will appear in blue on the map. (Side note: moving the cursor along the track and looking at times--they seem correct. Double checking the time stamp on the images--they seem correct, too.)
5) I select the images and drag to the track line. Before I let go a little pop-up box comes up. It says "x hours" and below " -/+ y minutes". As I moved my mouse over the line the numbers of x and y change in irregular ways--or perhaps the fact that my track there and back is overlaid on top of itself is confusing me in some way.
6) I let go of the mouse. Dialog pops up asking if I want to assign photos based on time stamp. I click "Assign Location."
7) Pins then appear for each photo near where I had the cursor. Repeating this process, the pins always appear near the cursor, no matter where on the track I put the cursor, with the same images. The pins never appears at the correct location.
Missing something obvious, no doubt!

Edit-in-place NOT working...

I've recently installed FCS at our small shop. I've read the Geller book, followed the Admin manual, and pretty much have gotten it to work.
However, I can't get "edit in place" to work. It did work when I initially installed the system and tested it. And now, after a complete re-install, it doesn't work.
I am using two local RAIDs. Each have a media directory that I set up as a device. For example:
One device is called "Mojo Project Media 02"
In the Device Pane (on the Admin / Client Java Interface) the Local Directory reads:
"/Volumes/RAID_02/Mojo Project Media 02"
So the Mac edit-in-place URI reads:
"file://localhost/Volumes/RAID_02/Mojo Project Media 02"
I can't get the edit in place URI to not ad "localhost" but I don't think this should matter.
Whenever I try to move media into a Browser Window from FCS, it tells me I must copy it to my local cache first. This didn't happen when I first installed/configured the system.
Can you not set up edit-in-place for a local directory (ie. a volume locally attached to the server with FCS installed)?
I know it worked before. Is there something I am missing?

After much testing, I realized that on the FCSr machine that it indeed had edit-in-place status because of the storage directly attached to it. BUT the other client computers did not.
So basically, since we don't have the $1000 a seat for XSAN and we are only cutting DV and DVCPRO HD...
We could configure our Mac Pro Server to be an AFP share over the network; it's plenty fast over Ethernet since it's aggregated over 6 gigabit ports to a switch and has PCIe RAID storage attached. We could give this edit-in-place status IF...
We used another machine (server class) to install FCSr on.
This would work right?

Places not working after photo has been edited...

Hello All
As the title states after I edit a photo in Iphoto (on the ipad, in either Photos or Adobe Express) the edited photo no longer shows in places.... Is this just the way it is? Does the geotag go away after editing? Should I be saving the edited photo differently? I know if I leave the original it will still show in places but I would prefer not to have both versions on my Ipad just the edited version, but I do like the Places tab/option....

If you have the serial number for the installation and it is version 8 or higher you should be able to download it thru one of the pages linked below. If you registered the software, you should be able to find the serial number information for it thru your Adobe account.
If the above holds, you can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site or else the download will not work properly.

Logic 9 bounce in place not working as it should

Trying to get the bounce in place to work on an external instrument track linked to a hardware synth.
From the Logic 9 manual " The bounce process is usually performed offline, b*ut Logic Pro automatically switches to real-time bouncing whenever necessary. (When there is external gear involved, the External Instrument or I/O plug-in is used.)*"
Not with me it's not.... the SPL whizzes through as if doing an offline bounce, without detecting its an external ins track and doing a real time bounce as it should...
I've had this confirmed by a couple others so hoping this gets a fix and works how it should be as stated in the manual!

Hi, I've been experimenting further with regular bounce. Bouncing a kick drum from Battery results with an offset of 3 samples. Not a lot, I know, but it's not right. Bouncing Region In Place results in 205 samples offset, so something is broken somewhere.
Any thoughts I 'd love to hear them!

Facebook Check In/places not working?

I have the latest 9320 3g bb, i don't have the BB Addon, and im using wifi, when i try to check in it just says aquiring location and my location is never found. In my options GPS services are all on and in my fb settings places is also on but it's still not working? do i need to edit a privacy setting on fb? if so how and which one

Toshiba Touchscreen Not Working with Echo Sign

I bought a brand new Toshiba Satellite Radius 2 in 1 and the touch screen won't register to sign via "draw my signature" feature with EchoSign/Adobe Reader. I have Reader XI installed. Is that a known issue? How do I fix this? This is the whole reason why I bought the touch screen in the first place to sign Adobe Documents with EchoSign.

How exactly are you trying to sign the document? Did you receive an EchoSign email to open the document link to esign or are you trying to open the PDF in Adobe Reader and then placing signature in it? Also, if you can let us know if there is any error encountered or what exactly happens when you try to place signature?

Black Screen on Toshiba Satellite/Not working

Hi all,
Wondering if anyone had a solution. I have a Toshiba Satellite L875-S7110. Never had a problem with it until yesterday. Laptop was on, I closed it, put it in my car to go to work (no case so there was nothing obstructing airflow) and when I got to work and opened it, completely black screen.
Shut it off, turned it back on, still a black screen. There's no backlights, no lights on the caps lock or num lock.
I've scowered the internet for multiple fixes; I've tried taking the battery out, holding the power for 30 seconds, reattaching the power cable, etc. and nothing has worked. I've taken the RAM out and put it back in, nothing.
The lights are on for the power/HD drive, the CD drive will open and you can hear the fans running/the computer running. Tried putting it on an external display but the displays all say no signal.
Any ideas/solutions for what this might be or how to fix it?

Iphoto places not working

In Iphoto I have many pictures with GPS location, but cannot see them under places. In preferences I have set up to look automatically and at info next to picture I can see a pin, but when I click places it tell me again choose event click info and assign place, once agian.

Many reports. No solutions. One work around that has worked for some and not for others is to turn WiFi off and back on

Paste-in Place not working

Hello,
I have been having some problems with past in place for a while.
Sometimes this function works perfectly others when I copy (shift+command+c) and try to paste ex an icon into another artboard it simply pastes it in the same artboard, even thought I have the correct artboard selected.
Sometimes it simply pastes in some random artboard.
Do you think you can help out with this, would much appreciate it.

shift+command+c? what do you have that set as? in my shortcuts that's Centre Text. copy is just command + c.
I don't know if you're doing this or not without observing, but the artboard you have selected when you copy the object is relevant as well as the one selected when you paste.

"Recent Places" not working?!

Hi,
I have recently upgraded my operating system to OS X 10.4.10 and since than I don't see recently visited folders under "Recent Places" list in Adobe CS3 applications. The only thing I could see under "Recent Places" are the servers I visited but not the actual folders.
These feature worked perfectly on previous operating system with Adobe CS2...
Can anyone help?!

It is strange and I thought it has to be OS X issue because it doesn't work on other applications too, not only on Adobe CS3. For example I have the same problem in Quark too. But than there are other applications where "Recent places" works like for example Microsoft Word or TextEdit.
I am using OS Dialog on Adobe CS3, the Dialog of Adobe CS3 doesn't even have this option?!

No Export options and Place not working correctly. InDesign CC 2014.

I cannot place a file into a frame with cmd+d or File > Place.
I get the preview on the cursor but won't place into a frame which I need to keep the frame effects and size options.

I am not getting any options on Export - to change the output file type. Seems to be defaulting to PDF (print) in the dialogue box there is no dropdown.
How do I fix this?
I don't know how long this has been going on for as I don't use InDesign as much as other programmes but I am guessing since last update. I hate I am paying for this per month and have been sat on the phone and chat for over an hour waiting on a response. It is slowing my workflow down.

Places not working properly

I am starting a new iPhoto library on a new iMac. I've never had this issue on my other Mac's but places takes forever to locate (I've used this a lot before with no problem). Just a spinning gear. The pin won't drop and where there is a pin, I cannot move it. It's also not showing accurate locations on photos taken with my iPhone (locations were fine when imported onto other mac).
Any suggestions?

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
