Toshiba 46TL938G Subtitles DLNA servers don't work, but USB does

If I play something with subtitles from DLNA it does not work. But if I copy that exact same movie and .srt file to a USB stick and put it in the 46TL938G, it does work.
Anyway to make subtitles from DLNA?
P.S. Anyway to update this ridiculously outdated media player / usb player interface that Toshiba uses?
It looks more outdated than my 2002 Samsun TV!

I'm trying to watch .avi and .mkv files on my TL963 TV from my PC which holds the files.
I've given up on the subtitles as the TL963 does not support my language at all.
I've set up an XBCM server on my PC for DLNA communication.
I see on the TV all the files I've "shared" with the TV, but most of them yield a "Media Player Decoding Error", while having them copied into a USB device and then playing it on the TV works fine.
Is there a way to update the TV's decoder files, or is there a "preferred" DLNA server which works best with Toshiba TVs?

Did you try rebooting the iPad? You will need to have some battery power for this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

IDM may need to be updated to work with Firefox 4.0. You could contact them and make them aware of the problems you are having with their program.

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

X-Fi Platinum (optical) PCM works but Dolby does

My problem: I've got a Sony reciever (with Dolby and DTS decoding support) with some optical inputs. DVD player and Cable Reciever work very well (with AC-3 5. and PCM) on all inputs so it's not at reciever problem.
But if I attach my computer and play some AC3 aka DD it won't (nearly) work (but PCM does work perfect). I tried 48kHz and 96kHz and I of course deavticaed the built-in decoders.
Here's what's happening if try to play some DVD with DD with WinDVD8:
I try all different checkbox combinations (although I know that SPDIF & 6 Channel would be the right thing) and from time to time (randomly) DD/Bistream Out appears in the lower right corner of the monitor - but the reciever doesn't get any.
And if I decide to use VLC with SPDIF-out I even get a crazier problem - I get some sound but:
The software plays about a half second of the matching video - repeats it then times - and plays some next 0.5 seconds.
Oh yeah - first I used the drivers from the CD and now I use the latest drivers...
I'm getting crazy and I'm looking forward for your hints!

First thank you for your hint - Win32 waveOut extension output is the one and only output mode making some hearable sound - but it's PCM 48kHz (stereo) again - I get the exactly same sound when I choose "analog" stereo output in VLC...
And as I told I've got similiar problems with other applications...

Qosmio X870 - Internal speaker don't work but headphones do.

I'm a little annoyed as this problem has seemed to have randomly occurred.
Making it difficult to pinpoint what caused this/finding a solution... :(
So after opening my laptop from sleep or hibernate, I can't remember which specifically and want to listen to some music, I notice there is none.
I plug in my earphones, and there is sound. Both times the sound mixer is indicating sound.
The speakers are the default device, green tick, and sound levels are picked up. "This device is working properly.".
I actually let windows automatically find a newer driver version, which it surprisingly did, downloaded and installed - restart laptop. Still no sound.
I read somewhere that it appears for some that the hibernation and or sleep mode on Toshiba laptops cause the audio drivers to behave strangely. But I don't now what kind of troubleshooting to do, to fix this.
Or it could be hardware related, regarding the port/jack. I don't know. I pray its software.
Please could someone help me and make me happy again

I dont think its hardware related issue.
As I understood the issue: the speakers work properly if the notebook runs in normal mode.
The speakers dont work if the unit wake up from hibernation or sleep mode.
I meet such issue on my 2nd notebook. The speakers did not work but sound appeared using connected headphones. I could solve this by sound driver update.
But I think this isnt a universal solution.
From my point of few you should try different workarounds.
First of the notebook should be tested and checked using the Toshiba preinstalled system.
The image has been configured and tested by Toshiba and usually everything should work properly. Therefore i would recommend you to use the Recovery disk (or HDD recovery procedure) in order to set the notebook back to the factory settings.
The other workaround would be the uninstallation of the sound driver as well as other sound driver related parts.
In device manager go to the sound, video and game controller
Here uninstall/delete the
- Realtek sound driver
- nVidia High Definition Audio (if available)
- Intel high definition audio controller (if available)
After this short procedure reboot the notebook.
Now you will need to wait until the deleted devices were recognized and installed again.
After this process has been finished, check the sound availability.

I still have about 5 months of warrenty left on my iphone 5 and the earpods that came with my phone have stopped working. i can't still to my music unless if i move the cord before the jack around. I was wondering if i could get them replaced? I heard you can get them replaced if you have warrenty on your phone. By the way I'm from Canada.

So i've a little problem with my Mic In 2 on my front panel I/O. I'd a soundblaster X-Fi Xtrem music, and recently, i've upgrade her with an optional Front Panel I/O. The front panel work perfectly, and two days ago, after reinstate the PC, the MIC IN 2 don't work suddenly. This back MIC IN work perfectly, but no signal for the MIC IN 2 on front panel. I've reinstate the drivers (the last drivers on the creative official site), i activate the MIC, activate the potentiometer at max on front panel, activate the mic boost in windows xp audio panel, i try another entry (ligne IN, auxilary...) for this MIC 2, i check the AUDIO CONSOLE... but the MIC IN 2 entry is not activate.
I read many post, but waht's the Creative Mixer ? I don't have Creative Mixer but Creative Audio Console. i made work my MIC IN 2 in front panel, with removing jumper (dynamic mic), but i heard my mic but windows xp software (msn, teamspeak, skype...) do not receive a signal. this very strange, with removing jumper, the MIC IN 2 is activated on front panel hardware but no in software (audio panel windows xp).
If i desacti've the LINE IN 2 in audio panel of windows XP, the mic don't working (no hear) but if i desactivate Microphone, he work normally... (but for the two solution, windows xp don't receive any signal)
No idea ?

After upgrading to 10.2.2.12 on windows XP SP3 , itunes does not display any summary info or buttons/options. The buttons work but it does not display the text on the button or the options available.

I recently upgraded the iTunes software to 10.2.2.12 on my Windows XP laptop. Since then, iTunes stopped displaying the Summary info
, the text on the buttons, the various drop down options. The buttons seem to be working but I can't tell what that button is supposed to do
or the option I am selecting. This is preventing me from syncing my photos to the laptop.
this was not a problem with the previous version of iTunes.
Actions taken :
- I tried downloading iTunes again and repairing the install. That did not fix it.
- Don't want to uninstall it as I am worried that I would lose all the songs and the purchases etc.
1. Has anyone encountered this ?
2. Is there a solution for this ?

Yeah it does, although the problem predates version 10.2.2.12. It's been around since earlier-on in the version 10s (at least).
It's usually Segoe UI font trouble on the Windows 7 systems too. Unfortunately, the Vortical troubleshooting technique only works on XP and Vista systems, so dealing with the issue on a Windows 7 system is trickier. (There's a bunch of different possible issues relating to the fonts that could be in play, and so the treatment tends to depend on which issue in particular you've got with the Segoe_UI fonts.)

We have sent a Datasource include in transport and transport did not throw any errors. I assumed it went through fine. But when I tried to test it using RSA3, I don't see intended result. I tried re-importing the transport, again no errors with same result. I followed same procedure for QA transport and it worked fine. Right now I am trying this to Prod and I don't understand why it does'nt work. Can you guys let me know if you experienced something like this before or if you have any suggestions.

Airport express: wireless works, but internet does not

Hello.
It happened yesterday for no apparent reason: Internet was not working via airport anymore, as it should have normally.
Config: Cable modem to Airport extreme (.g); USB printer attached to base station, base station Ethernet port going to router with Boradband phone and 1 PC attached to it.
4 MAc computers attached to Network (and getting Internet) via Airport.
Internet connection using DHCP, dynamic IP address provided by RoadRunner (Time Warner).
I tested Cable Modem (works), all ethernet cables (good), reset base station and recreated an airport network.
Airpot network works, USB printer is accessible via Airport, but Internet is still off (although Network Configuration in Sys Pref give me a green light and informs me that I am connected to the internet)
My question: is it possible that Base Station fails only for its Internet/WAN capability, and not for Network functions?

We have been having the same problem discussed in this thread earlier, described as follows:
It happened two days ago for no apparent reason:
Internet was not working via Airport Express anymore, as it
should have normally.
Config: Cable modem to Airport Express via a US Robotics router,
2 MAC computers (iMac700 and MacMini) attached to Network (and getting
Internet), the iMac through router and the MacMini via Airport Express.
Internet connection using DHCP, dynamic IP address
provided by RoadRunner (Time Warner).
iMac connected to router is getting Internet just fine; MacMini connected to network via AEX is getting network signal but no Internet. Network diagnostics says it can't tell what's wrong and call ISP. ISP says it's an Apple problem.
I tested Cable Modem (works), all ethernet cables
(good), Airport Express network works, but Internet is still off for MacMini.
I've done a power recycling exercise twice, but still no Internet on the MacMini.
Does anyone have any ideas? Both my son and I are stumped. He's a teenager and is fairly computer savvy. Neither of us has been able to figure this out.

Keyboard & Trackpad not working but USB are...

Hi - 2007 white Macbook, 10.6.8...
Today the machine appeared to keep freezing completely... after numerous checks (including booting in 10.5), it transpired it was the keyboard and trackpad that weren't responding, not the OS. I know this because I plugged in a USB keyboard/mouse to check and they work fine.
That said, the onboard keyboard & trackpad do work upon boot up for anything from 1 to 10 minutes. Then they just stop responding and I have to resort back to USB again. I can see others who've had similar problems but I can't find a solution.
It doesn't appear to be a fatel hardware error because they will always work on boot up for a limited time. All updates are applied and disc permissions repaired.
Anyone know how to solve this? Appreciate the help - stars all round, thanks.

It doesn't sound like a fatal hardware issue but I think your Top Case Assembly or the connection cable are going bad. The top case is basically the plate containing your keyboard, trackpad, and power button.
The fact that it works via USB basically confirms that, but there is the outside shot that the connector on the Logic Board could be the problem....
Before you take it to an Apple Store, try to boot it up from your software discs that came with your Mac (disc #1, you can do this by restarting your Mac with the disc in and holding down the C key after the startup chime) and see if the problem occurs. If it does, I would have an Apple Service Provider or an Apple Store replace your Top Case for you.If it's okay on the discs, run your Disk Utility on the software disc and reinstall the OS.

TS3367 facetime used to work but now does not work on any of my devices

I have been in regular contact until about 4 days ago using facetime on my iphone 5 imac 10.7.5. ipad 2 now none of these devices work from incoming calls from Philipinnes. Take note the caller had latest macbook pro 13 inch and is able to call Guam on fatetime with success. What is happening why is incoming calls alway failing. This has been 4 days running and is not good enough. Okay I havent got the latest updates but why in the late few days whould this effect anything. I mean 3 devices and none of them work. This is most frustrating and annoying. I have intead used skype which does work but at night time the camera is not as clear. Tanke note also earlier in the year I received calls from Vietnam and although I did have dropouts was always able to connect only these last four days have had no success. Also I have not been able to call out. The wireless has full bar and am near the modem that is not an issue. Unless there has been a recent change why is htis not working all of a sudden.

THere seems to be a FaceTime issue and some users who have been in contact with Apple support claim that Apple is working on this.
I have read many posts on the issue and have seen that there are many reporting that when they have updated their various devices to the latest software, the issue has been resolved.
You can wait for Apple to resolve the issue OR you can update everything to the latest software and see if this solves your issues.
