Toshiba a205 sp4027 compatible motherboard

Hello I know my laptop is old but I love it thats why I need your support because I need to change the motherboard of my Toshiba a205 sp4027 because board lever repairs are not working anymore but I dont know what is the compatible motherboard for it. I try to search on ebay and I found the same look of my laptop it is the toshiba a205 s4777 and I am wondering if the motherboard of this unit is compatible with my own unit. My toshiba a205 s4027 have a intel centrino dua processor with 1gb 555 pc5300 (512 each), 250 gb hdd along with biometric scanner and this is the motherboard code I get from it V000108120. Follow up question: is all toshiba a205 motherboards are fit with my unit? if not what is the proper motherboard for it? Thanks a lot

There are 2 different body styles for the A205, so you have to do some searching for the other model, and make sure that it looks exactly the same as your current A205. If it does, then the board will physically fit. If it doesn't look like your model, then steer clear. You should also make sure that the board you are looking at comes from a model with the same or more options that yours has (ie fingerprint reader, web cam, etc), to make sure everything is still going to work.

Looking at my options here as i believe i've exhausted my options in troubleshooting my current build to even post.
What is a compatible motherboard to the K8N Master2-FAR MS-9620?
Dual Socket 940 AMD 64 2xx Series CPUs
ATX format
Dual PCI-express SLI ready
I've come across Tiger K8WE (S2877) but i don't believe it's SLI ready.

computer worked no problem before, for a solid couple years - pretty mcuh sat for a while
broke it down to troubleshoot: 1 cpu, new 1000 watt psu, 1 ram stick, 1 graphics card.
Interchanged out each individually and tested after each swap out - same results. Tryed different ram in different slots.
Just keeps beeping.
I did get a new case. Would the case front panel connections cause issues? hmmm? but this was having same issues in first case (just didn't have a speaker connected to board to hear any beeps)
maybe i should disconnect the case connections and then try booting without it connected?
i'll try that, but at the same time - i've been hunting for another compatible motherboard to support the devices....with these being from 2005/2006 and technology advancing so fast - finding similar ATX board, with dual socket 940 opterons and SLI ready capability is a bear.

Toshiba A205 4777 Recover problem

Hi,
I was trying to recover the factory default settings on my Toshiba A205 4777 laptop and it is getting stuck while recovering the files. I tried this serveral times and Iam encountering the same problem. Can anybody help me in solving this issue? is there any problem with the hard disk? pls let me know

If it happens just after restoring the hard disk to its original contents, then it's surely due to a hardware malfunction.
Test the memory.

Hello Mo,
Yes you can install Windows XP HE or Pro and then download all the drivers from Toshiba. But the place you bought the Computer from is supposed to furnish the Recovery CD's that came with the machine. If you go back and ask them they should be more then happy to oblige your request, since after all it is not your fault you do not have the CD's. Either way, for now if you want you could install windows normally and download the drivers, and wait for your recovery CD from the store, or you can go to the store, request your Recovery CD, and install it that way once they give you the CD's. Hope this clears up your problems.

Hi, I've tried to fint the solution to this problem I have but I simply cannot, HP doesnt seem to have an email support either so Ill ask here before making a charged phonecall.
My slightly old computer (3 yrs or so) is in need of a new processor, but the socket on my current motherboard is not compatible with the processors on the Swedish market (atlest the stores I have searched). The man in the computer store said that I had to check with HP support if the components in my PC was compatible with a newer motherboard so that I can get a new processor to go with it.
Im terrible at computers so I dont know anything of what I just said.

The man at the computer store should have been able to tell you if the components were compatible. If he can't tell by looking at them, then I suggest that his recommendations may not be of that much value to you.
All of the components in your desktop PC are compatible with modern motherboards. The hard disk is SATA and that will work in any motherboard that you purchase. The memory probably wouldn't work. For a new motherboard always purchase memory that is stated to be compatible on the motherboard manufacturer's memory compatibility list. That is the best way to ensure that a motherboard boots up.

Toshiba A205-s5880 usb ports not working-broken

Both my USB ports are broken on a computer 14 months old.When I say broken, I mean the ports fell apart on the inside.The 1st one broke a month ago and the 2nd one last week.
Can I replace them w/out replacing the mother board or somehow get another USB port on this thing?
Just seems absurd.My previous toshiba lasted 5 years.

Toshiba satellite m305-s4815 motherboard replacement

Two years ago i brought a Toshiba laptop with Mode M305-S4815 in Houston, Tx.But now the motherboard of it was destroyed by a small accident. I've consulted Toshiba's after-sales center in Beijing, China .but they don't have the same motherboard. It makes me very confortable. Do you still have this mode in US market? I'm thinking of import a motherboard from US.Could anyone pls give me some suggestions? Or whom should i go to ask?

Thank you for responding but unfortunatly it still didn't work. It turns out that i have to set the hard drive to AHCI in order for me to install Windows XP. The problem in hand is i will be using this program called nLite.
When it asks me to put in the iaahci drivers i can't find it anywhere! i searched the web everything... still no hope.. i know that my laptop came with 2 CD's but when i searched within the cd's i didnt find any iaahci drivers...
Sigh can someone please tell me where i can find the iaahci drivers for Satallite M305-S4815 please? thank you..

Problem with Toshiba A205-S4617

Problem Description
The computer freezes up randomly, not allowing any kind of action, just shutting down with the on/off button.
This happens in safe mode too.
It has the particularity that one can not turn on/shut down/Log off, if the computer is connected to the power source (i.e. to turn on or shut down the computer I must unplug the "charger" or else it will hang up as I explain earlier)
- During Turn on
It goes from the green loading bar in black screen that says Microsoft Corporation to a black screen and stays there, sometimes even gets to the welcome screen where one inserts the password, but that's how far it goes, does notgoes further than that.
- During Shut down
Closes all running programs and icons on desk desappear, closes the windows explorer getting ready to shut down and hangs up right there.
All this problems are present too removing battery and working without it, connected to power source obviously.
Attempted Solutions
- Upgraded from Windows Vista Home Premium (O.S. by defect) to Windows 7 thinking that the problem could be in the O.S. and changing to a new one could solve the problem.
(Problem not solved)
- Downgraded to the Windows Vista Home Premium again with the recovery factory disk, bringing the computer to the original configuration (out of the box state)
(Problem not solved)
- Used several repairing software, registry repair, debug, antispyware, drivers upgrade, defrag, HDD check, etc. such as "Advanced SystemCare Profrom Iobit, "Power Suite" from Uniblue)
(Problem not solved)
- Thinking it could be a communication problem between hardware and that maybe a bios software upgrade could hold the solution, I upgraded it.
(Problem not solved)
At this point I don't know what else to do.
Can someone give me a hand so I can at least know what the problem is?

Toshiba A205-S7464 cooling fan failure

My cooling fan suddenly stopped working. How can I check if the fan broke, or if it was caused by some other problem? And how can I fix this problem?

I have the same laptop (A205-S7464) that you do.
First suggestion: use a small vacuum cleaning nozzle to remove any dust from the fan port (the circular vent on the bottom of the laptop). That worked for me. If the laptop keyboard area is noticeably cooler after cleaning, you should be good to go.
If not, you or a tech will need to carefully remove screws on the laptop bottom, and do more careful cleaning.
There is a website that shows how to take apart A205 laptops, but don't go there if you're not good with electronics, grounding straps and so forth.
NOTE: the memory modules under the square opening in the middle of the bottom of the laptop are sensitive to static, which can damage them badly. If you don't know what you're doing, take your laptop to a knowledgeable tech for cleaning.

This is the first time I have installed Solaris 10 on my PC. I have an ASUS A7N9X-E motherboard, which includes a Marvell 88E8001 Gigabit LAN. Solaris seems to have installed OK. How can I find out if there is an appropriate driver for the onboard LAN? It is not on the hardware compatibility list (which is very sparse). Has anybody used this motherboard successfully?
