Toshiba AC Adapter replacement

After having many troubles diagnosing the problem with my Toshiba Satellite L350, I concluded that it keeps shutting down due to the AC Adapter problem.
The adapter in question is: Input 100-240V - 50-60Hz, Output 19V - 3.95A.
I have looked for this precise adapter but with no luck - my friend told me to try universal one.
So I'm wondering if it would be safe to use universal adapter only with these same specifics? If so, should I try a particular producer?
Thanks in advance for your time and help

Satellite L350
Give us the full model number or the part number. There is a label on the bottom.
Most likely Toshiba recommends this replacement.
   Toshiba 120-Watt Global AC Adapter
3.95A
The current rating of your replacement should be at least this value. That is, it's a minimum.

  • Toshiba AC adapter 2 weeks out of warranty

I was very disappointing to find out that Toshiba will not honor warranty for the AC adapter as its 2 weeks out of warranty. What happened to good will and good gestures.
I used to work for a service department and we would always honor warranty for products just outside the warranty period. I know its not an expensive item, but just a good will gesture, perhaps send me a working used or refurbished AC adapter might of been nice.

    Universal Ac Adapter
Universal AC adapters are devices that convert supply power from an external source to electronic equipment through a converter connected by copper-wire cabling. Archer manufactures a line of universal AC adapters that can be purchased by individuals for general use.
universal AC adapters have a visible switch for selecting different voltages, and the adapters come with a set of connector tips. Usually, an AC adapter is built to last for years, but sometimes it does not last as long as planned. • Still problems with Toshiba Bluetooth Adapter under Windows 7

Hey there, it's me once again.
I refer to my thread "Bluetooth Problem under Windows 7":
I thought after the solution from bluecat my problem was solved. But it's not really.
After installing the Windows Hotfix, it worked just shortly. But now the problem is the same.
When I delete the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack and try to work with the Windows Bluetooth Manager, I see, that the Bluetooth icon is coming an going on the task bar. In device manager I said Windows, that it doesn't shut down the device to save energy. But I think the device is turned on and off and on and off...
I really have absolutely no idea what the problem is, but I am becoming terribly angry.
    Details:
    Windows 7
Dell Wireless Bluetooth Internal Adapter 350 (but it's made by Toshiba)
Drivers tried out: Vista Profile Pack from Dell Homepage (no stack installed, just driver) / Toshiba Bluetooth Stack (the latest version)
    This is the old Thread:
    Dear all
Just as I installed Windows 7, my Bluetooth mouse and keyboard don't work fine.
I use the Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth Internal Adapter, Logitech MX1000 mouse and keyboard and Toshiba Bluetooth Stack 8.00.02.
To connect the devices with my Computer, I firstly must disconnect the Bluetooth adapter by pushing Fn + F2 on my Dell i9400, after re-connecting I can search and connect the devices correctly. They work fine as long as the notebook is running.
After rebooting the notebook, the devices don't work anymore. They are still listed in Bluetooth Stack as known, but not as connected. Therefore I have to disconnect the Bluetooth adapter another time and re-connect it to be able to connect the two devices.
I firstly thought, that it's a Windows problem. I thought that Windows is able to put down the adapter to save some energy. But when I go to the Device Manager, there is no box for this option as known from other devices (f.e. USB-Ports). So this is not the problem. I think the problem is something else, maybe done by the Bluetooth Stack.
Under Windows XP this all worked perfectly. I used the same hardware and also the Bluetooth Stack by Toshiba (downloaded on the Dell Homepage).
    Anyone some ideas?
    Thanks!
    Daevu

    Hey there
Yesterday I made Format C: and installed Windows 7 new.
I did not install any bluetooth driver for my Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth Adapter (made by Toshiba).
And now: The mouse and the keyboard are working. I even do not see them anywhere in my system, but they are working.
There is no bluetooth adapter in my device manager and I had not to connect the mouse and the keyboard with my computer. It's simply working without doing anything.
    I don't understand this...
    Is this a save connection?
    What I've tried already:
-> Installing newest Bluetooth Stack from Toshiba. Problem seen in the message above. I also installed the MS Hotfix. Same problem.
-> Installing "Vista Profile Pack" from Dell Homepage, recommended for my notebook and Windows Vista. There is no stack installed. So I had to connect the mouse and keyboard via Windows Bluetooth Manager. But the adapter was made on and off by windows, the icon in the taskbar came and went and came and went. Connection is 1 minute good, then some seconds away. Not possible to work with the mouse.
And now without installing any driver it's working. Am I stupid?

  • Toshiba HDD2A30 adapter - Question

Hello everybody. Unfortunately to me, my Toshiba Vaio of 2005 broke permanently. I had this notebook for backup purposes only, so I am not quite sad. I know the 2.5 HD is working and I wanted to retrieve it and connect it to a desktop PC. Some friends and a fast search on the net told me of an adapter to connect 2.5-inch IDE HD to a 40-pin IDE cable. But Toshiba's HDD2A30/MK2035GSS hasn't got a slot of 44-pin male IDE connector. Is any way I can connect this HD to a desktop PC?
You can see here an overall image of Toshiba's hard disk:

best solution for you is to use USB 2.0 2.5" SATA HDD Hard Disk Drive External Case Box. Using this box you can connect this HDD to any desktop, laptop, sat receiver or DVD/Blu-Ray players and have full access to all saved data.
I use the same box with 500GB SATA HDD.

  • No Response messages & computer shutting down, plus adapter driver missing (HP Pavilion m9400t)

My desktop computer (HP Pavilion m9400t, Vista 64-bit, SP2) has slowed to a grind in recent months, and programs keep locking up, giving me a "No Response" message. This started with IE 9 tabs, then MS Outlook, and now it's every program. I often reboot to get it going again, but run into the same problem in a few minutes.
I leave the computer on overnight to run automatic back-ups, and now, the last two nights, it has shut down and won't start up by pushing the power button. The light stays on under the power cord. I followed the instructions on HP.com to get it going again, and it starts back up. How do I get the computer working smoothly again?
I just ran a registry cleanup and cut back on start-up processes. Virus definitions are up to date. I ran Malwarebytes and deleted one threat that was quarantined. I also ran hardware diagnostics, which detected a Toshiba RNDIS Adapter that is missing a driver, but I can't find the driver on the HP site. The details under Device Manager say the adapter is at Port_#0002. Hub_#0001. What is this adapter--a USB port?--and where can I find the driver?
    Thanks for your help!

    Hello lcafarel,
    Let's do this.
    1. Unhook everything from your computer but the bare minimum. This is just the keyboard and mouse
    2. Unhook the internet modem if you are connected to a modem, if you are wireless, disable your wireless adapter.
    3. Put the computer in a clean boot state, starting only the bare minimum services for the computer to run
    a. Click start and then type msconfig.exe
    b. Under General tab choose the option Selective Startup
    c. Uncheck Load startup items
    d. Navigate to the Services tab
    e. Check Hide all Microsoft Services
    f. Choose disable all
    4. Reboot
    5. Monitor for 24 hours.
I would assume in this amount of time you would be able to affectively reproduce the issue of the computer locking up and shutting down.
If it continues to lock up then we can start looking at the computer on an OS level.
If it doesn't continue we have to start ruling things out.
First try plugging the internet back in, does the problem persist. Then start adding other peripherals back to the computer, e.g printers.
Continue to turn items on and add items to the computer until the lock ups and freezes occur. It's the best way to effectively isolate the cause.
As for the Adapter that is missing, it's something connected to your computer. Is it possible that you have a Toshiba modem that you are connected to for the internet?

  • Satellite P10-804: AC adapter makes loud noises

The power supply is periodically making terrible noises.
Can it be replaced with a non Toshiba power adaptor ?
If yes, is there anything I need to know ?

Looks like an AC adaptor would be faulty or maybe its only a broken cable.
However, you should not use an AC adaptor which malfunctions. Its too risky
So I would recommend using an original Toshiba AC adapter. In such case you are always on the safe side.
You could use the PA3290U-1ACA AC Adapter 120W with 19V DC output

I have a continuing problem with the power adapter socket into the laptop. It has always been loose and has caused charging difficulties. Eventually the adapter broke and I purchased another and the same thing happened! I am on my 4th adapter which has now stopped working! Is there any way the socket can be changed for something a little more robust?
I know I sound like a clumsy klutz but there are three other laptops in the house which have never given me any problems.
Can anyone out there advise or help?

  • Re: Windows 7 3G drivers for Toshiba F3507g

    Hi
There are some drivers now for Windows 7 and the Toshiba F3507g which integrates the card into Network and Sharing Centre.
Only tracked down 32 bit drivers so far but expect others to arrive soon.
To get them go to here:
*Download the 3G RF Power controller:*
    http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/3grf-20090928170546.ZIP
    *Download the 3G Driver*
    http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/3gdrv-20090928170511.ZIP
    *Download the Wireless Manager*
    http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tools/eula/calleula.asp?ID=68434
Uninstall the existing version of Wireless Manager and the drivers then:
    1) Install the 3G RF Power controller, this updates the existing version
    2) Install the 3G Driver
    3) Install the Wireless Manager
Note that the install says it is for a different model of Toshiba Mobile Adapter but it also contains drivers for the F3507g.
    Regards
    Phil

The latest drivers for this device were just released.

  • Replacement adapter for Tecra

I have been sold a Delta Electronics ADP 75SB BB as an equivalent Toshiba PA3755E-1AC3
The specs all appear to be the same apart from the following:
    Toshiba 15V / 5A
    Delta 19V / 3.95A
Does this mattter? Shoud I use it?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hey,
If your computer requires a 15V AC adapter you cant choose a 19V adapter. With other words the AC adapter you mentioned is not compatible.
In your case I would buy the same Toshiba AC adapter as you already have. Just search with this number in Google to find some online shops or contact authorized service provider in your country.

  • Using other Brand of Power Adapter

My Power Adapter just broke and I'm from Philippines and the Service Center in our area needs to order the replacement parts directly from Singapore and it will take 30 Days before it arrive... I really need my laptop for my study and before the item will arrive I might temporarily use my friends Power Adapter, because his laptop is not working anymore...
the brand of his Power Adapter is Toshiba input V- output @ V X 3.95A=75W
    while mine is HP input V output @ 18.5 X 3.5A =65W
My question is can use his Power Adapter to my Compaq Presario CQ40-416AU?
    Badly need you response...

Not a good idea even you can plug the Toshiba one into your HP notebook.
Your CQ40-416AU AC Adapter has the following specification
    AC Smart pin slim power adapter (65-watt) - 100-240VAC 1.7A input, 50-60Hz, 18.5VDC 3.5A output.
The Toshiba output current is too high 3.95A instead of 3.5A.
Do you know what is the output voltage from this Toshiba AC Adapter?

  • Connecting laptop to TV 42VL863B wirelessly - nearly there

    Hey all,
Ok, I bought a toshiba wireless adapter for my TV. It works just fine, I can connect to the internet - excellent.
But I want more, moooooore (c:
I managed to get my laptop connected to the TV, using the network device setup on the TV. I Set media renderer to on and found my laptop in media controller setup.
Noooww... using Windows Media Player (I'm on win 8, if this matters) I can send mp3 to the tv wirelessly, but when I try to send a mp4 or AVI I get a "Media is nor supported by device" in my laptop... if I try to send it anyway the TV says "media playback error"
Of course, I can play mp4 and avi in WMP in my laptop... the issue only happens when I try to "send to" the TV. Weardly, if I put the mp4 or avi in a memory stick and plug it behind the tv, it works fine...
So, what do I need to do?
    Thanks!

    Hi RLjr.;
    > Sounds like S-video to me wylbur, that would be a better quality than VGA.
It seems u_hsn disagrees, but no matter. I'll take one of each cable, then use whichever one
gives me the best picture.   :-)
    > If you have S-video on your TV, I would connect it that way.   But don't forget the audio.
    > The easiest solution is to buy a cable that has a headphone jack on one end, then splits

Got it - or I now know what to get (I should say).

    It certainly does - thanks!!!

  • Satellite A135-S4417 - boot failure

    Hi,
Recently when on it has been giving off one beep and if it stays on it will repeat this beep every 15-20 seconds.
However, it's now failing to boot beyond the Vista login screen, and just shuts down instantly.
Repeated attempts to start it with or without the battery or only connected to AC power and it gets beyond the "press <f2> or <f12> ... " screen and then shuts down. No beep.
If it stays on beyond that screen I will get the beep as described above.
If I remove the RAM it fails to show anything on screen or beep in any way.
In all cases the cooling fan does fire up, stay on for a couple of seconds, then stops and then the laptop dies or continues trying to load Windows and then shuts down instantly. If it gets far enough it beeps again at the same interval as described above.
The side vent allows me to see the heat sink and it looks clear of debris and I've had no instances of overheating.
Without any error beeps or other symptoms I can't see what's really wrong or what else to check.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Are you using the original Toshiba AC Adapter? Perhaps its faulty or it cannot supply enough Amps.

  • Bluetooth USB dongle stack download for Windows 7

I have a Toshiba USB bluetooth dongle. The software will not install using Windows 7 and the dongle does not work at all on my PC. The only download I could find for the software was for Toshiba notebooks! Where can I download the software/drivers? I must say that the support for updates to Windows 7 is very poor or very well hidden. Why is the stack only free for notebook users? Must I avoid Toshiba's products in future because the support seems to be non-existent. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi
Please take a look here on this Toshiba BT portal:
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/
Here you can download the newest Toshiba BT stack!
Here is also an explanation why the BT stack is valid for 30 days:
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/FAQ81021V0000R01.htm
This message will appear ONLY if you are using non-Toshiba Bluetooth adapter.
The usage of Toshiba BT stack on all Toshiba products is NOT limited.

  • Satellite M60: can not install the newest driver for my graphic card

Can not install newest driver for my graphic card
    Satellite M60
    ATI MOBILITY RADEON X700

    Hello
First of all I really dont understand why you start two topics with the same theme. It is much better to have one topic with good content and interesting comments. Am I right? ;)
Anyway, in your case it is interesting that Toshiba use adapted drivers because of hardware protection. That means that graphic card will not be forced to run at the maximum level. Hardware cooling in notebooks is very problematic and high temperature can result with overheating or hardware damage. All hardware components are placed on small place. Graphic card produce a lot of warmness and it is not so good for all other hardware.
When you use non-Toshiba driver graphic card will be forced to run faster. Because of that every notebook manufacturers dont support usage of third part drivers. The fact is that hardware protection is priority.
I didnt make any experiments but according to some reports on this forum there is way how to install non-Toshiba graphic card driver.
Please check this forum and you will find many comments about that. One interesting topic is http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=18063&messageID=66186
