Toshiba Camileo Pro HD/iLife 08/Apple TV

I need help in figuring this problem out. My camcorder, Toshiba Camileo Pro HD, records footage as an mp4 file in 1280x720p resolution. I import the footage into iLife 08, as the full resolution, not the 940x540p resolution. However, I have tried various export options within iLife 08 to export the edited footage onto Apple TV, but the quality is not what I expected, extreme compression. Can I not export the footage as was recorded, without compressing the footage again, such as a 'passthrough' method?

If all you want to do is access your source files, then they are readily available in their associated named_Event folder. If, on the other hand, you are referring to any sort of project output, then no, there is no such things a "pass through" option here since a project is a set of instructions and not physically rendered as a file until it is actually exported/shared.

Toshiba Camileo Pro HD camcorder - poor image quality

I have recently purchased a toshiba camileo pro hd camcorder due to its size and being hd 720 quality.
I have connected it through my toshiba wlt tv via the component cable but the quality of the image is poor. it appears very grainy. I thought it was the connection but these have been checked and were perfect.
Im quite unimpressed if this is how it is going to perform even though it was great value.
am i doing something wrong???

In all modes, also Macro/General has no influence.

Everything is possible to switch, but at the end it is unfocused.
Also if photo si done with many items from the camera to the infinity, no item is focused. All are unfocused.
It seems to me like lens not set correctly . Is it possible?
Photos seems like from 1Mxp mobile or worse.
Is it possible to check it somehow if it is the standard quality of lowend device, or if it is some hw problem?

Problems importing Mpeg 4 files form a Toshiba Camileo Pro into iMovie

Can anyone advise on what I should do. I have purchased a Toshiba Camileo Pro HD. I can import the clips into iPhoto and play them in Quicktime 7.5.
iMovie recognises the camera and can create and play thumbnails of the clips.
However iMovie does not import the clips, giving an error message. Nether can it 'see' the clips in iPhoto.
Any suggestions would be welcome

After looking through Wikipedia I have found the cause of the problem. to quote
"This is limited however by an undocumented restriction on supported codecs. iPhoto uses the QuickTime library and can create thumbnails for all QuickTime supported formats, but most of these cannot be used by iMovie '08. Indeed, even some of the very few formats that iMovie '08 is able to import will not be recognized when they are added to an iPhoto library."
So it seems that I will not be able to use iMovie after all for my camcorder HD video!
Can anyone suggest an (affordable) application that will do what iMovie does?

Camileo Pro HD - How to make it work as a webcam ?

I bought a Toshiba Camileo Pro HD recently, very nice camcorder for the price.
But I bought it mainly to use it as a webcam, like the Camileo Pro and the Camileo HD does.
There is nothing writen in the user manual about it, and there is no user manual downloadable about the Camileo Pro HD.
I will be surprised if the most up-market camcorder of Camileo series doesn't have this option.

But it seems that no driver downloadable work with the Camileo Pro HD.
There is two downloadable files, one for the Camileo HD (about Youtube feature), and another for the Camileo Pro (about the webcam feature).
I tried the driver for the Pro model, but nothing work.
In the user manual of the Pro model, It's written to push the record/play button, but on the Pro HD model, there is two buttons, "record" and "play/pause" button.
No both of them work when the cam is connected to a computer.
I have seen on another thread that someone has used the driver of the Pro model, and it work for him (the thread is now closed).
But there is a lot of confusion between the Pro model and the Pro HD.

Camileo Pro HD - Where to find additional functions

Hello!
I recently bought a Toshiba "*Camileo Pro HD*" Camcorder, and now I'm wondering where I can find the mp3-player, the motion detector or the eBook functionality? I can't find them in the menu.
The manual doesn't mention one of these functions, but I've read in many tests and product descriptions (even the one from the store I bought it from), that it HAS these great functions.
Have they all been wrong?

I bought one of these about the same time, great camcorder replacement, but I am wondering the same thing where are the other functions?
Also I am wondering how you convert videos to a format Windows Movie Maker will accept, the bundled software does not seem to do much.
I thought it would be a good idea to buy a Toshiba video capture device as we use Toshiba laptops, but there seems to be a compatibility issue.
**MPEG 4** why is it so hard to convert? I don't realy want to spend bundles of money on a conversion software package which only seem to be available as an online download.

There is no license required for iWeb. Just do a Wyodor suggested and you'll be ready to go. If you're running Lion however, consider the following:
In Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
To open your domain file in Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.

You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder. So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

Camileo Pro HD Camcorder - how do I get the webcam to work?

I've just bought a Camileo Pro HD Camcorder which I love, but I can't work out how to get the webcam feature working? Am I missing something really obvious?
On the camcorder, its not in the menu anywhere, and when I plug in the usb in to my PC, it's not detecting a webcam is attached (using msn).
Can anyone tell me how to get it working?

I have just brought this camera and too cannot get the web cam function to work???
Does it actually have one?? I brought the camera as this was a feature that i quite liked the idea of...and as on may retail sites it says it has this facility in their sales spec jargon....
But i can't get it yet to work!!
I know the other models for the similar prices have web cam facility !!
Also i have found that in fact this is the same camera actually available from another supplier and may in fact be re-badge by Toshiba and prehaps not even made by them?
The other i came across exactly the same spec etc Although is by AIPTEK a company from the USA and they don't mention a web cam either!! :(

Thanks for the clarification on the terms. I consider myself proficent at my computer, but not exactly in its inner-workings! I have 8 GB of memory installed.
I am still confused as to why I do not have any space for the program. This is the exact error message I get: "There is not enough free space on Macintosh HD disk. The Print Shop 2 application requires about 550 MB to be installed. Free some disk space and try again."

You have not specified which version of Premiere Pro was given to you. If you don't have the disc (which i suppose you don't have) you will have to download it online.
As far as your registration is concerned, for Premiere Pro CS6 or earlier you will have to reach Adobe chat support for further help: http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html
For Premiere Pro CC and later, you will not have much problems reactivating it.

When syncing the iPhone and iPad with iTunes on your computer that is logged in with the Apple ID you plan on using on all three, the Apple ID should be transferred to the iPhone and iPad for the iTunes & App Stores on each device. If not, you'll need to sign out of the existing Apple ID on the iPhone and iPad followed by signing in with the Apple ID you want to use on both.
Keep in mind that all 3rd party apps include DRM protection which is tied to the iTunes account or Apple ID that was used to download the apps. With an app installed on your iPad and iPhone that was downloaded with a different Apple ID from the one you will be using now, you will need to use that Apple ID and password to install app updates for those apps. Not possible to transfer apps purchased with one Apple ID to another or to merge Apple IDs.

Macbook Pro no longer support Apple Cinema Display after graphic update 1.0

I recently updated my system to ver. 10.5.2 and after that I updated to graphic system 1.0. After that my macbook pro began to have several problems dealing with my 23" Apple Cinema Display.
1- if started in 'closed lid' mode it gives me a kernel panic (shaded screen) error during start up
2- if started in 'open lid' mode it boots fine but whether i decide to close the lid it fails to wake from sleep mode. It starts for one or two seconds and then it gets back to sleep.
So, I made a long time taking test during the weekend and after several "archive and install" I found that this issue is related to the leopard graphic system update 1.0. Somehow this update mess up the way that macbook pro deals with my Apple Cinema Display.
I hope that someone at Apple will address this issue toward a solution in a short time.
I appreciate any other experience in this sense by anybody.

I had a very difficult time getting my new HP Officejet Pro 8620 functioning as well as it does now. I just tried scanning something as editable text for the first time and it ended up being scanned as a pdf. At one point in my various tries there was a note on the printer screen that I did not have the HP OCR software installed.
This may be because the resolution to my installation problems with the HP Officejet Pro 8620 seems to have been reverting to operating with the HP-Apple Printer Drivers 3.0 package instead of the HP-Officejet-Pro-8620_v12.32.0.dmg installation package.
I do not, therefore, have the HP Scan application on my computer now which is where HP says its OCR software can be found.
So what I'm afraid of is that I'm now running well with the HP-Apple driver but if I do go back and install the HP Officejet Pro v12.32.0 driver software with the HP installer, in order to access the OCR softwware in HP Scan application, I'll mess up everything else.
Is there any chance that the HP-Apple Printer Drivers 3.0 package I have installed also includes OCR software? If so where can I find instructions for activating it and using it with the HP 8620's scanner?
Or can I only get OCR capability with the HP-Officejet-Pro-8620_v12.32.0.dmg package?
Any experience with this? Should I leave well enough alone? Or can I somehow install the HP-Officejet-Pro-8620_v12.32.0.dmg package without messing up my current functionality?

The printer driver that is installed automatically from Apple doesn't scan. The scanner part can be accessed through Image Capture, but I don't think that does any OCR on the scan. You'd need a separate program. As you noted, many of the bundled software programs have OCR built-in (albeit limited). From my experience, that is only activated when you scan to "searchable" PDF or something similar. You would then have to extract the text from the PDF.
I don't have an HP printer/scanner, so take this all with a grain of salt.
If you can just install the Scanner utilities, that shouldn't affect the printer portion.
Your other option would be to purchase separate OCR software. Unless you need to scan lots of documents into text, you should further investigate installing the HP scan utilities.

Hi I'm using a Mac Book Pro with a separate apple keyboard (wired). Randomly the keyboard will make a thudding noise like a key is depressed and stuck (which it isn't) which then stops when the keyboard is unplugged. I've tried rebooting, plugging it into another port and unplugging my mouse from it and it hasn't solved the issue. I also can't pin point when it does it, it seems to be random so sometimes, like now it's fine and then others it does it every few minutes. I'm reluctant to throw the keyboard out if there is a chance it can be fixed. Any ideas?

You cannot use any additional devices on the keyboard's USB ports when used in this fashion (except perhaps ONE low power Apple mouse). Anything more draws too much power and may make the keyboard malfunction. In general, keyboards do not tend to complain about low power, they just stop working properly.
