Toshiba Camileo S30

I've got one of these HD cameras & am having problems with it.
On occasion when you click the button to end recording the camera crashes, it sits there with the hour glass icon & then doesn't do anything.
After this whatever video you recorded becomes useless as it didn't finish saving correctly.
Is there anyway to fix these damagaed videos? If not I just lost all the recording from my daughters wedding.

I'm sorry for not responding sooner, and I'm very sorry to hear that you're having this problem with such important videos. I'll look into this for you.
You do have the files, but they don't play. Is that correct? How big are the files?

  • Camileo S30 Will Not Power Up Issue ?

I Hope Someone on the forum can offer a solution regarding a Problem i am having with my Camileo S30,Occasionaly it will not start or power up Unless i remove and replace the battery,I Have tried the factory
default setting but to no avail, and a new battery,It appears that this fault applies to many s30 camcorders.
Could it be that it is a Bug in the Firmware?and are any updates available,Any help would be appreciated
    thanks
    Jon

The Camileo S-30 is a great little camcorder - when it works! I own two and today neither one was working. Unit #1 the screen is out, nothing shows up. The Toshiba logo did appear for a second then it just went blank. I can get the photo or movie light or even the white led to go on, and it will record or take photo's and they store on the SD card. But what good is it when you can't see or access the touchscreen functions? It must be a firmware bug or two or more! Since the logo will sometimes appear, I guess its not a case of the flexi-cable wiggling out of its socket.
Still, while I can't get anything to appear on the touchscreen of unit #1, if attempt to make a movie or photo's, and then I take out its SD card and put that SD card into the "other" Camileo S-30 I can view the photo's and/or movies. Now that "other" Camileo S-30, it sometimes suffers from the "Plays Dead" will not power up syndrome that a dozen people have complained about on this forum.
There seems to be no rhyme or reason when unit #2 will work or not work. If I plug in the charger in and then remove the battery and put the battery back in, then press the power button, sometimes it will start up. Today is Sunday and unit #2 seems to be working well. Friday I charged it up for a long time, basically overnight. The photo and movie lights were flashing for quite a few hours. Then they became constantly lit, which I gather means a fully charged battery. However, the battery indicator shows four sub-sections, the top four are green and the bottom four are yellow. Does this mean - the battery is losing its charge capability? Should it register all greens for a new battery? This battery has always been showing green and yellows like that. At the present time, I've only got one battery between the two S-30 sets, I guess I should start saving up to buy a few more batteries.

  • Problem recording videos with Toshiba Camileo X-Sports

    Hi there,
I recently just brought the Toshiba Camileo X-Sports so am fairly new to how the camera works.
As the title suggests I am having some issues recording.
Right I'll try and explain the best i can
The reason I purchased this device was mainly to be used as a car safety cam (crash cam) as I'm a taxi driver, I drive around 200 miles per day and people's ability to drive sensibly is just getting crazy now and having video evidence if the worst should happen would be amazing. Other reasons was for trips out on my motorcycle and also being able to take this cam under water.
I received the X-Sports on Wednesday, placed the memory card in and hit format card to ensure the card was correctly set for use with the X-Sports
I then read through the manual to see what settings would suit my needs best... I came across looping video.
    Here's what the manual says.
    Looping Video
Looping Video features recording a continuously looping video that overwrites itself until you stop it.
    Looping Video feature includes:
    OFF - Default
Max - Depending on the maximum capacity the camera records a certain number of videos based on 15 minutes files, then deletes the first 15 minutes file to continue recording a new video.
5 Min - Camera records 5 x 1 minute file, then deletes the first 1 minute file to continue recording a new video.
20 Min - Camera records 4 x 5 minutes file, then deletes the first 5 minutes file to continue recording a new video.
60 Min - Camera records 4 x 15 minutes file, then deletes the first 15 minutes file to continue recording a new video.
120 Min - Camera records 8 x 15 minutes file, then deletes the first 15 minutes file to continue recording a new video.
So upon reading this I though right as I have a 64gb card (Samsung EVO 64gb Class 10 U1 micro SDXC) I will put the setting on Max and then if ever I needed to recall a video i will have a decent chunk of the day stored on the memory card leading up to the event.
I took the camera out with me on Thursday just for an hour and when i got home i took the memory card out and placed it into my laptop to view the recordings and this is where my problem comes in.
The first 15min video plays back fine but every file after that will not play. when i open the memory card file the first video has the preview style thumb nail where as the rest of the video files do not.
I then searched online and come across this website looking for answers.
some of the info i read was that 1080 60fps was causing some problems with recording and playback and to turn down the fps to 30fps, also that the stability control was also a possibility for these issues.
So last night i went through and made the necessary changes to my settings 1080 @ 30fps and no stability control. I then set the camera up in the living room for 45mins as a test. i then tested the recordings on my laptop and hey presto it worked. 3x 15min videos all playing back as they should Great stuff
This morning at 5am i left for work taking my shiney new cam with me, happy in what i might capture on today's drive and also be satisfied that my camera is functioning as it should.
I get home, stick the memory card into the laptop and I'm back to square one. my first 15mins was fine and all others were unable to playback. I also tried the memory card in my PC and still had the playback issues.
Does anyone have any ideas or shall I return this as faulty?
Sorry for the big post but wanted to put as much info as possible!
    Thanks, Leon.

    Problem Solved
Camera returned and replaced with a Kitvision Edge HD30W

  • Toshiba Camileo X100 low sound

I dont know its only my camcoder problem or it have all Toshiba Camileo X100.
I recorded at same time with Nokia and toshiba
This is toshiba video >> [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-y_06P7Rj0]
And here is nokia >> [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fADIb2vywY]
Those videos was recorded at same time from same position.
And toshiba records very silent. I cant hear what people speaks 1 meter from camera.

I have noticed the same on my Toshiba Camileo H20 but generally speaking sound is OK and I can hear everything very well.
Of course it will be much better if the sound could be a little bit louder but it is OK.
Im afraid this is normal and I don't know what can be done about that. You know, there is no setting for mic volume. So I think we must live with it.

  • Toshiba Camileo Pro HD camcorder - poor image quality

I have recently purchased a toshiba camileo pro hd camcorder due to its size and being hd 720 quality.
I have connected it through my toshiba wlt tv via the component cable but the quality of the image is poor. it appears very grainy. I thought it was the connection but these have been checked and were perfect.
Im quite unimpressed if this is how it is going to perform even though it was great value.
    am i doing something wrong???
    Cheers for any advice

Photos and also videos from new Toshiba Camileo Pro HD are unfocused.
In all modes, also Macro/General has no influence.
    Outside, inside...
    3/5/8Mpx
Everything is possible to switch, but at the end it is unfocused.
Also if photo si done with many items from the camera to the infinity, no item is focused. All are unfocused.
It seems to me like lens not set correctly . Is it possible?
Photos seems like from 1Mxp mobile or worse.
Is it possible to check it somehow if it is the standard quality of lowend device, or if it is some hw problem?
    How to set up?

  • Toshiba  Camileo Pro HD/iLife 08/Apple TV

    Hello
I need help in figuring this problem out. My camcorder, Toshiba Camileo Pro HD, records footage as an mp4 file in 1280x720p resolution. I import the footage into iLife 08, as the full resolution, not the 940x540p resolution. However, I have tried various export options within iLife 08 to export the edited footage onto Apple TV, but the quality is not what I expected, extreme compression. Can I not export the footage as was recorded, without compressing the footage again, such as a 'passthrough' method?
Thank you for any help offered.

Can I not export the footage as was recorded, without compressing the footage again, such as a 'passthrough' method?
If all you want to do is access your source files, then they are readily available in their associated named_Event folder. If, on the other hand, you are referring to any sort of project output, then no, there is no such things a "pass through" option here since a project is a set of instructions and not physically rendered as a file until it is actually exported/shared.

  • Camileo S30 - zoom is ON when Slow Motion is active

    Hi,
I've bought a Camileo S30, and im facing some problems like:
when I active the slow motion system, my camera put all the zoom on, and then I can take or move the zoom.
Another problem is, the photos never come focused every time
I take a picture my photos never come right.

    Hi
The slow motion seems to be available only in video record mode and if this mode is activated the video resolution would be set to 320x240.
    This is QVGA resolution.
Furthermore the stabilization, motion detect, time lapse and slow motion cannot be used simultaneously.

  • Problems importing Mpeg 4 files form a Toshiba Camileo Pro into iMovie

Can anyone advise on what I should do. I have purchased a Toshiba Camileo Pro HD. I can import the clips into iPhoto and play them in Quicktime 7.5.
iMovie recognises the camera and can create and play thumbnails of the clips.
However iMovie does not import the clips, giving an error message. Nether can it 'see' the clips in iPhoto.
    Any suggestions would be welcome

After looking through Wikipedia I have found the cause of the problem. to quote
"This is limited however by an undocumented restriction on supported codecs. iPhoto uses the QuickTime library and can create thumbnails for all QuickTime supported formats, but most of these cannot be used by iMovie '08. Indeed, even some of the very few formats that iMovie '08 is able to import will not be recognized when they are added to an iPhoto library."
So it seems that I will not be able to use iMovie after all for my camcorder HD video!
Can anyone suggest an (affordable) application that will do what iMovie does?

  • Can I use Toshiba Camileo x200 with AC power supply?

    Hello everyone,
I'd like to buy the Toshiba Camileo x200 camcorder, but I have a big issue : its autonomy.
According to my research it can record only 100 min while a 32Gb SD card allows more than 5 hours.
So my question is simple : if i want to use this camcorder in a single place, can I use the AC adapter when i use the camcorder?
    Thank you for your help!
    Jackal
PS : please excuse my english, i'm french ;)

It is OK. I didnt want to spend a lot of money so I bought H30. I have it almost 2 years now. It is perfect for recording outside but movie quality recording inside is not so good.
To be honest Im thinking about new cam but you know, for good cam we must pay a good price.

  • Toshiba Camileo H30 importing

I have recently purchased the camileo h30.
I have taken some 1080p video recording.
I have windows vista home premium.
it shows the video fine on the media player.
my issue is when i go to import the video into a
windows movie maker project, the video shows up
as only audio, and there isn't even any sound.
    Can anyone help me?

    Hello D.Feldman,
have you tried it with the movie maker of the attached software, also?
I think there are no problems with them.
Maybe the Windows movie maker misses some specific codecs?
Another idea is, to record in different resolutions (720p, WVGA, VGA in PAL 50Hz and NTSC 60Hz) and try it again.

  • Sony Handycam SX44 and Toshiba CAMILEO H30

Are they compatible with my macbook below are my specs. If not, what are comparable video cameras(under 202.00)?

Well, I personally would avoid both cameras. The SX44 records in mpeg2, a problem for Macs, and the Toshiba in AVI. You can transcode the video using workarounds I have found the best option is to do a lot of research, starting with Amazon.com, where at least one Mac owner of the Toshiba found the files unusable.
I have found that going to Apple and looking for their suggestions often helps. Here is a page with supported camcorders for iMovie 11, for instance. I suspect the list is pretty much the same for your iMovie 09.

  • Can I see Camileo P30 picture on notebook like if connect camera to TV?

    Hi!
I have notebook with HDMI and Toshiba Camileo P30.
Can I see picture from camera on my notebook like if connect camera to TV?
What software shall I use (cause nothing happens, when I connect my camera)?

    Hi
Does your notebook supports HDMI IN port?
If not then you cannot do this.
You need a HDMI port which received the signals like a TV or external monitor

  • Sound recorded in Camileo P10

    Hi, everyone:
This is my problem, I have the digital camera Toshiba Camileo P10, and when I'm recording loud music (I have a band) and when I zoom in and zoom out the sound has a problem, it becomes like a robot for 1-2 seconds and the returns to normal...what is the cause of this? Can I fix it in the camera or with some kind of program?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello,
if you hear noise while zooming, it is more a hardware than a software problem.
I dont think, that any software can fix this issue.

  • How to add videos from my Camileo h100 to Premiere Elements

Ok, I should start off saying that I am definitely a beginner when it comes to Premiere Elements, so I barely know how to do anything. I just got a Toshiba Camileo h100 video camera. When I try to put the videos into Premiere, they only show up as audio files. How do I fix this so I can start editing the videos.
Also, and this is mainly for after I figure out my first problem, how do I get the highest quality possible when rendering. Thanks in advance for the help.

  • Camileo X100 freezes using remote at the end of clip

I bought a Toshiba Camileo X100 a few days ago.
The camera is great, I like it very much.
However, there is a problem with the firmware I think.
The remote control is functioning, as expected, although there is no detail about its usage in the manual, I had to guess everything.
The problem is the following. If you go with the remote to play a clip, you wait for the end of the clip, and would like to go back to the previous screen, you press the Back/Cancel button on the remote (right bottom button).
If you do this, the camera freezes.
You have to switch it off and switch it on again to be able to use it.
The bug was confirmed by HRP Hungary (distributor and service in Hungary), we tested it together over the phone, so it should not be the problem of my specific camera.
What could you advise me on this?
The following issues are not bugs, but during playback it would be useful to be able to see somehow the details of the clips recorded (at least the time of the recording), and to be able to set some settings for recording, so that the camera does not forget everything at turning off (e.g. stabilization, or pre rec setting etc.).
Why do you have to have the screen open, when you are shooting a time lapse for a few hours, or during playback on TV?
    THX for any help.

    Hi there,
THX for checking. I also sent a letter to Toshiba, first they wanted to replace the camera, then I explained again that the replacement will work the same way, no answer since then.
What I ment during playback, is some information about the clips, e.g. the time, when the recording was made. Currently you only see the number of the file and the total number of files in the list, and the length + the number of the files when you are on one file. On other cameras you see the length, the time of the recording, the settings used. On Camileo X100, you see only the length and the basic setting, but no data on the time of the recording, or other metadata (e.g. stabilization focus...). It is not a bug, but would have been useful.
